    I bought this car with 8k miles and just over two years old. It is great and nippy hatchback. Yes I would never consider to buy a new car especially paying so much extra for hybrid, but it was same price as 1.5 tsi with similar mileage and better equipped . You get instant torque from electric motor which puts most cars behind you on the traffic lights. Plugged in overnight and ready to go for two days of my commute which is 60 miles in total with 62 mpg on Average and sport mode only. Full battery charge costing me £3.20 at the moment so running it is cheaper than my wife's Fiat 500 twinair. I was driving my friends BMW 118i for a week and it is a fantastic car but Seat beats it when it comes to performance and costs of owning.

    Very smart little car. Good and concise review as well. For example I learnt that this car adjusts its heating system to be as fuel efficient as possible. The only thing I could wish for in this video is a little better video quality. But the content of the video is great.

    Brilliant, this has to be the best review I have seen on this car. Still deciding on the hatchback or estate as the hatchback has a lot of the boot taken up by the batteries underneath. I will definitely be purchasing one of them. Well done on the review 👏 👍

    Does the battery charge while the car is coasting without breaking? Also, does the ICE charge the battery whilst driving?

    interested to know the size of the battery. ive got some on street charging points opposite my house ( source London) they operate at both 2 and22 kW and wan to know if i could use them to charge this car and how long it would take to get to full charge?

    hey, nice video...may i ask...what if for any reason you on petrol engine only mode (lets say u wish that or the battery has no enough energy), will the car lose some of its bhp? i think this is 204 hp with combining both engines. what if only the petrol engine is working, while it drop to 150 bhp?

    • @asm1
      @asm1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      According to the latest brochure:
      the electric motor is 85kw (116 BHP) (10 more than he says here, but then I am looking at a MY 22 brochure)
      Petrol is 110 kw (150BHP)
      I guess There's a "Trade off" running all the ancilliaries, so yeah you'll get 204hp combined.
      I'm guessing that with a differnt "Map" you can vary how much is done by each motor.... Theoretically 150HP+ 116 = 266 HP(!) ... bear in mind VW claim 245 HP in the current GTE.

    • @magnuserlandsson1327
      @magnuserlandsson1327 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can only go fully electric below 130 km/h and the battery has to have enough charge. The manual does not state the exact figure but above 7% charge I think from my testdrive. Don't hold that figure against me though as I was not paying it to much attention :)

    It makes no sense to pay £12,500 more for a car to save fuel
    this is £250 more (Every month) over 48 months

    • @leefoster8015
      @leefoster8015 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not everybody keeps a car for 48 months and hands it back. The future savings for life of car will help with residuals and that engine should last a long time considering the battery does half its work.

      @@niceboy60 Electricity is not free, thanks for pointing that out. A factual statement, shame about the rest. This car isn't for me either but 14p per KW/h, the option for a short commute petrol free, Kers etc. Lots of variables including the fact this has respectable BHP. 80 pence on the pound vs petrol is just plain wrong though I'm afraid. Think your main problem here is you are comparing this to a standard 1.4l which won't have the performance and say a 2l golf won't be in the same league MPG. Again not my cup of tea I drive a GTI but this is a smart buy for the right person.

      Put it this way, you work 10 miles from home, you drive to work, plug it in, by the time you get back you have full charge and can drive back on pure electric without using fuel. You wouldn't drive on pure electric if you were doing a long journey, just do a combi operation
