    I have the same Leon with Xcellence trim. My record is 92 km on a single charge. On summer the average was 70-80 km. Now on autumn 60-70 km. 15 thousand km behind and average consumption is 0.3 l/100 km. Quite satisfied with Leon.

    Great review, lovely car. Harder plastics I think take away from it a bit on the inside but it looks great. I love a practical all round car that can do a bit of everything. Great car for IKEA trip etc...

    Ideal car for a family,were the driver lives 20 or so kilometres from the office in a city centre and has a drive way at home 👍

    Very practical car, I'm waiting for my regular petrol eTSI and don't care for SUVs at all just a lot of extra weight and lower mpg it's a transportation device and not a fashion accesoire imho looks better than the Golf though

    Does the Kia Ceed Estate PHEV compare well? The price was €31000 after grants although the €5000 grant is removed now (is that right?).

    Excellent car. The one thing I’ve really noticed compared to its VW and Skoda cousins, is that SEAT have take it or leave it trim levels these days. Whereas the cousins can be far more customised. Shame really as I like SEATs but I like my extras too.

    I'd love to know how long a charge lasts in hybrid mode. I've read Mk7.5 GTE owners can get charge per tank of fuel. People only ever seem to drive them in EV mode, charge daily etc. At that rate just get an EV surely? I'm more interested in hybrid mode.

    • @NobbyOnCars
      @NobbyOnCars  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hybrid will select EV anytime that it can so no, you wouldn’t get a charge across a full tank

    We have the regular 1.5eTsi sportstourer with DCC...seats are very comfy imho its not very quite unfortunately and has lots of road noise, even with 17" wheels. Also the front axle makes a very unsatisfying rumble over wavy surfaces. Something I did not expect, even in a lower tier brand. BTW the regular sportstourer has 620 L volume, but only in the low setting of the loading floor. This isn't possible in the hybrid...this has probably less than 500 litres.

    • @mickbrooks8114
      @mickbrooks8114 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Think it's the low profile wheels n tire my car st has same noise but older hatch back 2019 less noise

    • @ronpower7790
      @ronpower7790 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mickbrooks8114 I went for only 17" wheels intentionally, since our Passat and also the direct predecessor to the leon, a C-class with Airmatic, had 18" inch summer tires, which despite the Air suspension dealt rather bad with broken roads. I rather think its something wrong on the car, or the VW group still has issues with theyre dampers, like a couple of years ago...probably a design flaw. I drive different rental cars on business trips mostly Golf class size and such rumbling is absent on any other comparable car I drove lately.

    Great review Nobby tho' I think the diesel one would be more applicable for my needs as plug in hybrids are no good for the motorway. I'd be interested to see tho' if there are anyone who has driven one for a week on a similar motorway journey ie 70 miles return every day and charging it every day to see what figures economy wise they'd be getting.

      Can you elaborate on the issues or shortcomings you have encountered?

    • @NazSBG
      @NazSBG 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@alphan2262 ok, here goes: it does an emergency stop when as little as a blade of grass is in front of the car. In fact, there doesn't have to be anything in front of the car, it just decides to stop, harshly.
      Then there's the alarm warning that you are about to crash although the nearest car in front is 100 yards away.
      Oil has needed to be topped up 6-7 times in two years. It drinks oil like it's going out of fashion.
      The hose to the back window washer perished and the recently replaced hose is now playing up.
      The battery died about 2 months ago and needed replacing.
      There's no light up on the temperature controls, so you can't see them at all when night driving. To turn the fan up you have to go into the infotainment which is a faff when driving and dangerously distracting. The good old fashioned dials with symbols to direct air is easier and safer to use.
      The high beam headlight setting is poor. Not much higher than the normal setting.
      Boot space width is poor. Compared to my former car, the 2012 Masda 6 tourer/estate, the Leon FR does not come close to being as wide and roomy.
      The automatic gear box is one of the poorest I've controlled. When slowing down the revs go crazy high rather than a nice controlled rev decrease. So one has to toggle with the flappy paddle gear tabs side of steering wheel.
      The car judders when full wheel lock reversing.
      There's a short screeching noise when it changes gears from 2nd to 3rd.
      Traction when pulling away at speed is poor.
      Seats are some of the most uncomfortable I've had, especially on long journeys. Within an hour my arse is aching and numb.
      One positive is that it handles well. Cornering is nearly as good as the Masda 6 estate....nearly.
      I will not be buying Seat again. My old Masda 6 was leagues ahead of the Leon.

      @@NazSBG thank you so much for your elaborate reply and sparing your time.
      I am planning on buying Seat Leon Sportstourer eHybrid FR which would compansate for the reduction in boot space due to batteries by being an estate.
      I think mechanical issues such as the gear being jerky or the problems while the car is in full whell lock are prominent and even happens with Golf GTE. So it's a general platform problem rather than only happening with Seats. But nevertheless they are annoying and should not have happened, so its unacceptable. They should have put a 7 speed dsg and 1.5 TSI instead of 1.4 TSI of the old generation imho.
      Infotainment is not nice but it is what is and at least Seat has real buttons on the steering wheel instead of the touch sensitive ones in the Golf.
      About the high beams and driver aid systems not working properly, did you take it to the dealer for this problem? Maybe there could be a software fix that resolves the issues regarding these system. Or it could be that a part of the hardware in you car is faulty.
      I hope your car brings you more happiness in the new year and thank you again for investing your time for your lovely reply.
