Which connecting piece do you use to mount the monitor on the camera or the top handle? I have a lever arm and the SmallRig monitor holder, but they are not really secure and wobble dangerously.
So something i do often is a sort of elaborate setup with this small nato rail on the monitor: amzn.to/3zPZf7J then i get a 90 degree 15mm rail clamp: amzn.to/4dGi7DP with a couple shorty rails: amzn.to/3YawcVO and then i attach the monitor to the rails with this NATO clamp: amzn.to/3Yn5fyp And what this does is allow me to have my monitor off set via another rail clamp attached to the front of my top handle. Basically turning my 5" monitor into an offset monitor in the style of an EVF. and having it on the short rails i'm able to quickly tilt it in any direction i choose. Hope that helps!
One thing I hope BM add is remote control of the P4k/P6k via HDMI like they did on the ATEM Mini ! (I wish all touch screen Monitor add this feature actually hehe). This would allow a clean feed from the camera YET keeping the OSD informations, and it would allow for all angle touch screen support (including on camera zoom from the 4k/6k sensor). They might easily do that when you press the setting option, a popup occur asking if we want to configure the monitor or the pocket. And routing feature so we can decide what is output via SDI or HDMI Out (Not sure if it passthough or not). If I were doing job where I wasn't responsible in the end of media offload, then it could be a problem it could be more interesting like you said, but I always end up with a copy of the media which is stored locally and uploaded to a server in a datacenter. As for disconnecting the monitor and bring it with you during lunch is really interesting... Right now, I bring my computer and do my own offload if needed during lunch, which I can wireless feed via the HDMI out my screen to multiple devices, but that bring the media to an unsecure location which isn't great (But fine for the short film stuff I'm doing). If BM implement the feature I said at the begining, I'm pretty sure I'll be buying one, but until then my current setup with 2200nit screen on camera does the job. One thing that worries me is those tiny SDI connector... I see larger SDI connector on camera being damaged and being intermittent, so I'm not sure about those tiny connector (I saw review from the Hyperdeck shuttle 2 that those SDI connector does get broken easily)

Thanks for the review! This is a monitor I’m interested in. I currently use the Atomos Shinobi SDI with my EVA1. I like the monitor (especially having the SDI because it lets me use the square peaking option from the EVA1... for some reason the box peaking doesn’t work with HDMI) but it does run a bit hot! I don’t feel the need to have an extra backup of my recordings yet... and the battery life with the Shinobi is good with the large Sony battery. Still... Had this monitor recorder since it came out it is a great product but not been without its issues (colour shifts when changing modes incorrect lut display ) these were partially corrected with firmware updates but I h had to send mine in for repair due to purple fringing on the edge of the screen it was sent back from Blackmagic with the engineers saying it is a known fault and they are looking into it. So yes a good monitor but not without its faults and the usb c port is in a stupid place why not on the side.
Hey, do you still have this monitor? If so, could you please tell me in the anamorphic de-squeeze feature, does it have the 1.5x amount? (ex: 1.33, 2x, etc) Thanks for the help!
@@JustinPhillip haha! After watching that review I know I won't regret it! Right now I am just lucky to have my news job which has been taking up a lot of time. Also not seeing to many productions going on in Vegas right now too. How's it going where you are at?
As an Atomos Shinobi owner, I can certainly agree that their products are not what they are cracked up to be (I detest mine). I especially doubt that its claimed 1000nits is anywhere near that value, given that its brightness is very close to one of my cheap Feelworld 450nit monitors. I have had to set the Shinobi to B&W mode recently just so that I can focus accurately in daylight. My Feelworld Ultra Bright 7" is miles ahead of the Shinobi, but I need a bright 5" monitor for my smaller rig so there's no point in getting another 7". I've been pondering the 12G VA 5" for a while and it sounds like it might be worth getting and, as I'm purely a BMPCC4K user, the SDI isn't of any value to me. I'm hoping that Blackmagic updates (or is able to update) the VA so that it can record BRAW from a P4K/P6K. That would be the icing on the cake.
A month has gone by and recently I decided to go for the Blackmagic 12G VA 5". What a difference! It makes the Shinobi look like a third rate, cheap piece of rubbish. What I'm especially cuffed about is the clarity of focus assist, even at half brightness it allows me to focus accurately, even on dimly lit subjects. As an aside, I have an Atomos coiled HDMI cable that doesn't play nicely with the VA, constantly losing signal, so I replaced it with a cheap flat cable and nary a problem. And Atomos has also designed the mains adapter so that it won't work on the VA. Coincidence or what?

Also, i had the same issue with the samsung ssd... usb-c port fell apart within two days of use and I couldn't recover what was on it. Luckily I already had it backed up elsewhere. Now I only use the Sandisk extreme pro ssd's and they are amazing.
Thanks for this review! I am about to send back my Ninja V because I have dupe frames (duplicated frames) in my Prores HQ footage. Which is very annoying because it renders the footage unusable. Also: I do not like the "legalize" workaround that Atomos has implemented on their monitor, ridding us of HLG/PQ monitoring in doing so. I will order the BM Video Assist this week. I am looking forward to being able to film in B-RAW with my S1H and grade in Davinci, which is not possible with Prores RAW. Also: the Prores RAW workflow is very convoluted in FCPX.
@Justin Phillip, Does the video assist support Luts? If it does you could hook it up to your computer and a color calibration tool to create a calibration LUT. The downside is, that you'd have to output your display LUT via the camera and toggle it on/off for recording. Maybe you could also create a combined LUT that includes both the calibration and the display LUT, but you'd have to test if that gives the desired result.
Great video! Just one question. How long does the battery actually last? Lets say with two medium sized batteries. NP-F770 or whatever they are called.
Here's a more detailed review, i address power around the 25 min mark. I honestly cant remember, i never use it with batteries: th-cam.com/video/7ut5fA4wsHs/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for this great video! I got a question for you. Is it possible to use AF tracking focus (face and eyes) on Sony a7 Mark III using Blackmagic Video Assist?
I do have one question. In your view, how much better do you consider the VA when it comes to focus assist compared to any 5" Atomos monitors you have/have used? A 7" high nit monitor clearly has advantages when it comes for focus peaking, but I haven't had the luxury of comparing such to a 5" monitor.
Australian Image Well, i’ll put it this way. For my talking heads, and pulling focus of myself with my tilta nucleus nano, it’s easier for me to see it on the 5” video assist than it is to see it on my iPad Pro (which is larger than 7”) . Focus peaking turned on both btw. This HDR video assist is the sharpest, cleanest monitor i have ever used. And if you been on the channel for a bit, you know how many monitors i’ve tested out. 👌🏼
@@JustinPhillip Thanks for that. My frustration with the Shinobi has kind of reached a peak. All activities in our neighbourhood across the pond are still lockdown, but once things start moving again, I don't think I can keep going with the Shinobi, especially once summer rolls along.
You make some good points, especially about the 12g SDI connections and cable, except shooting with a 1080 limitation is not helpful. Need to get a camera that shoots 4k over HDMI ( and SDI). Maybe I do not understand you correctly though.Your camera only outputs 1080 over HDMI?
Also use Alvins or Tilta cables and run everything off one V-Mount. Also no dramas. Do you know if I can use the Video Assist purely as a monitor and a remote run/stop trigger for the Pocket 4K?
Hey ! I choosed a Video Assist also, and took the 7" over the 5" because of internal XLR plug in... Got two problems : first, xlr are not working with my mic (k6 me66 sennheiser). Second, there is quite a hudge latency issue. I send back this monitor to test it out, an the problem wasn't my model, but the product itself. I can say so because they took so much time... That they changed it, because they couldn't find any issue in there lab... But obviously, my videos showed issues ! I'm using it over HDMI, using an X-T3. Do you notice some latency issue with this 5" monitor ? Thanks for your videos and feedback !
@@JustinPhillip okay great, good to know ! I'm one man crew... So need professional sound recording capability. As I don't get xlr on my cam, I though it was a good solution... But got troubles haha I'll do some test with some mics and HDMI over sdi with an fs5 which got sdi and HDMI. Thanl for your answer !
Great video, looking to get a BM VA12g soon! SUBBED! I see you have the BMP4k, what are your thoughts on the 6k? Personally I think its a better fit for me since i have so much Canon glass.
@@JustinPhillip thanks! I got the 6K examples from the black magic website. It's amazing what they were able to accomplish with a camera that costs so little
first of all love your content, second you mention this can record log 4k60 is this with specific cameras? or any camera I currently own a nikon z6II and with the atomos ninja V new version im top at 4k30 log
How is the POWRIG dummy holding up? I have Core-SWX (Switronix) version and it shuts off the VA if I go past 50% Brightness. Depending on your results, I'd be looking at either the POWRIG solution or just going with a regulated 12V cable.
@@JustinPhillip Justin, there is no up to date video on TH-cam that compares BM OS vs SmallHD. This would be SOOO helpful. I understand SmallHD is the standard choice and likely for good reason, but what is is specifically in the OS vs Blackmagic? Thanks!
Hello Justin, do you know if I can control de camera settings with this monitor ?! I have a broken screen on my BM and I'd like to know if I have a total control of the recording in the camera itself ... Thanks
What are your thoughts about Nikon announcing the Z cameras supporting black magic raw I just ordered that black magic assist for my z6 thank you for the review
I have a BMCC 6K Pro. Ive bought this 7' version. What is the best HDMI cable to link the pair up as all the cables I'm seeing say it won't show 4k at 60fps but I'm filming at 4k at 120fps sometimes. I won't use it to record as recording off my 6k pro but want a cabkle that will allow me to view my footage.
Justin. I have the Production 4k and LOVE the image much more that the Pocket 4k. Do you think it's worth it to buy one of these to use with Production cam so I can get BRAW or get the Ursa Min Pro 4.6?
How does the OS for this compare to the Portkeys bm5? Looking into purchasing one of these two just for monitoring purposes so recording doesn’t concern me as much. Which body weighs more? And what’s your overall recommendation between the two?
oh, if you're not into the recording capabilities, just go with the PortKeys, you'll save money, and the unit is lighter ( not by much). The build quality of this Video Assist is LOADS better though, i will say that.
Hey Justin, can you output an HDMI signal when your inputting from SDI. I use SDI out of camera but want to send a wireless signal out through hdmi for others to monitor.
As for cameras and monitors (HDMI ports is what I hear mostly) shorting out, would it be something as simple and easy to as turning off/on the wrong thing in the wrong order? Like too much power being routed to something if something else is turned off? I've also heard, like you said, it tends to be a cheap cable issue, so... I want to run everything off a single V-Mount, but I'M SCARED! 😅
I've help others on set with P4k, and one thing I've seen is people freaking out that it missing footage on their SSD drive and playback didn't work... Then for me to come in and open that Media card of the pocket and take out their SD Card in there ! Some USB-C Cable act weird which can cause issue depending of your operations. As for connector becoming damaged, that mostly operator error I would think, especially if it loose going up and down. If it goes in but just don't feel the resistance to keep it in, then that different. In my setup, I never touch the USB-C connector in camera, it permanently affixed to the Smallrig T5 holder, and I just pull out my T5 drive from it socket. This mean once the T5 drive get to the connector, it is always aligned correctly. Also even if it become lose, it not a problem (until I go the PC), but if it does become loose, it time to change the drive.
I have a Canon M6 Mk2 camera, it does 4K 30fps, would this monitor give me better video quality than my camera? Or would I need to upgrade my camera to benefit from this monitor?
Hi Justin, thanks for the great review! Can this downscale the 4K input to HD, like the Ninja? So I could use an affordable wireless transmitter for video village.
Hi justin, I need your help choosing the right video assist. I could see more codecs and video formats listed in Atomos ninja V and Atomos shogun 7 than in the Blackmagic video assist. Are they having same recording versatility or am I reading it wrong?
So I’m probably going to sell my Shogun Inferno complete kit and get this. BRAW on the Eva1 would be dope and hopefully on the S1H soon. Plus, a 5” is better than a 7” when you have it on camera all the time. Any recommendations of sites for selling used Atomos products?
@@JustinPhillip ya unfortunately the Inferno just isn’t as popular anymore. Might have to sell to a company and take a hit on the money I’ll get back. Know of any decent companies that don’t rob is selling gear?
Have you experienced lag? I got the assist 12g 7" when it first came out, but it was lagging and heavy. I still have it, but thinking of buying a smallhd that's lighter and hopefully doesn't lag as much.
I was about to get a Shinobi then I remembered your video about the SmallHD 702. Now I'm seeing you've moved on again to the Blackmagic Assist. Can I ask for your recommendation for someone that mostly shoots one-man-band with my own BMPCC 4k, so I don't really need to DP on a lot of other people's cameras. Whatcha think?
well, like i said at the end of the video, i've owned this one since February, and i'm still using it...that's the longest I've ever had any monitor. After you use this new HDR video assist, no other monitors are going to satisfy you the same. Maybe a smallHD Ultra Bright or OLED, but this blackmagic gives you more bang for your buck, IMO. Also, smallHD have horrible QC. Whereas Blackmagic are still fine tuning this new monitor, they just updated the firmware again a few days ago.
@@JustinPhillip I just feel like I'm going to waste its added functionality as I don't need the external recording or proxy files, so a good portion of its high cost will sting that much more.
Charlie Cooper smallHD does have a nice OS , or PortKeys, they make really nice monitors as well, and super affordable. I just did a video on one of their new little monitors
@@JustinPhillip I just now read that in firmware 3.5 they aded aditional calibration. Is it like a white ballance and tint slider or some complicated way of calibration ?
Would you know if it is possible to record the EVA1 5.7K RAW output to the Blackmagic Video Assist 12G monitor/recorder in the original ProRes format? I have clients that want 5.7K footage, but may not be able to work with ProRes RAW or Blackmagic RAW formats. Sorry if this has been asked before, but my search results only mention PRR and BRAW formats.
Hi Justin, great video. One question-I'm looking for someone to help me clarify one thing-I'm using BM 6K Pro with Video Assist 7" SDI connected via HDMI cable. As far as I have noticed I only get 1080/24 on Apple ProRes codecs! No BM Raw, no 4K! Is there a workaround around this-I'd need at least 4K/48. Can it be done with the BM Micro converters HDMI-SDI?
@@JustinPhillip The new one-HDR 12G SDI. I've updated it yesterday yes. I think it was 3.5 version. Is it possible that HDMI cable isn't strong or good enough? Can a BM Micro converter HDMI to SDI solve this problem?
@@twkprodukcija i think the problem is that the Pocket cameras only output 1080p via HDMI, any recorder is limited by the output settings of the camera
Justin, have you tried or does it work to use the BMVA as an SDI to HDMI converter to a camlink or the new raven eye? I would like to get the 7' for audio with my komodo but also need a converter so I was hoping this would do both. Thanks
I was using v mount batteries and a good cable and it still fried my camera sdi out. Just something to look out for. As a matter of fact, it was an Alvin cable. Lesson learned, don't hot swap, bad habit. Lesson learned.
Just started Playing the video. I’m underneath my car changing my catalytic converter. I’ll come back and watch it again. Anybody have $665 for a new one? . Holy moly. Expensive things. Movie gear. And catalytic converters!!!
I am researching monitors myself. Watching reviews of Atomos they mentioned problems with "ground loops" also when powering more than one device from the V-Mount batteries. I do not understand it all either and have not seen yet any scientific explanation from anyone, say, for example, a video device or electrical engineer. I am not an electrical engineer, but an engineer, and I am guessing there is some stray voltage leaking somewhere when combined with certain devices and certain configurations, which can go over the "internal resistance limit" of what some device can handle. So perhaps the problem is also due to some poorer quality devices being attached to the configuration? It is difficult to imagine that it is just an internal design problem.
Hey Buddy, quick question, I have a ⚠️ symbol on my Lcd and can't record. It will be stopped after 2 seconds, I turned in the drop frame rate and it doesn't allow me record. maybe you should make a video of it
Pouya Ramzi Never experienced that before. Contact Blackmagic. Or your monitor is getting too hot for some reason. What kind of batteries are you using?
@@JustinPhillip Thanks, so the Video Assist will start recording because I clicked record on the camera? My camera has a lanc port so that would work. I want to mount my BMPCC on top of my Sound Devices recorder to make the setup more compact. Which means no access to the SD card compartment. Hence recording on the 12G VA. In retrospect I'm thinking I should have bought the 7" version. You get a lanc port on that one.
How do you change the white balance on this monitor? The colors are SO different than on the camera and I don't see anywhere to make adjustments to white balance. I've messed with contrast and saturation but my camera image is warm at 5600 and on the monitor it's completely cool. Help!
@@JustinPhillip I do! It doesn’t matter what white balance I put my camera at, there’s always a blue tint in the monitor. Shot an event yesterday at 3200 to match the stage lights and the monitor looked insanely different. It was really frustrating

Hey Justin, has your opinion on this one changed? Do you still think it's the best monitor in it's price category? I'm about to pull the trigger now.
I still use it. Daily. Check out my instagram stories.
@@JustinPhillip Good to hear! Yes, will do!
Thanks man. Can you use the monitor to adjust focus points and start/stop recording?
yes
@@JustinPhillip thank you.
Another hit video.
im thinking about getting this for unreal engine does it record good 4k same as the camera?
guess u answered that lol
would LOVE to see how things gave changed since the RED.
nothing, i still use this
Great video. Really cant afford it. Thanks for sharing your experiences.
Thanks for your videos and feedback !
latency is much less with the 12G SDI, but HDMI does have latency issues. I'm not really an audio guy, so can't say too much on that
@@JustinPhillip okay great, good to know ! I'm one man crew... So need professional sound recording capability. As I don't get xlr on my cam, I though it was a good solution... But got troubles haha
I'll do some test with some mics and HDMI over sdi with an fs5 which got sdi and HDMI.
Thanl for your answer !
Great video, looking to get a BM VA12g soon!
SUBBED!
I see you have the BMP4k, what are your thoughts on the 6k? Personally I think its a better fit for me since i have so much Canon glass.
Thanks! I compared those two cameras 8 months ago. Check it out: th-cam.com/video/vgd77ZUPaoI/w-d-xo.html
@@JustinPhillip thanks! I got the 6K examples from the black magic website. It's amazing what they were able to accomplish with a camera that costs so little
Hi justin! If i press record on the video assist, would that be able to also trigger the pocket 4k to record as well?
I don’t want a 7inch but I think that might be a nice audio solution to the Komodo
this one is 5in.
first of all love your content, second you mention this can record log 4k60 is this with specific cameras? or any camera I currently own a nikon z6II and with the atomos ninja V new version im top at 4k30 log
Some specs like that unfortunately are limited to what the camera will allow
@@JustinPhillip so even with red camera is not possible to output such settings? im looking into buying one
What's the video quality like compared to a SmallHD 702 or 703? Miles away or pretty reliable?
DriveVice Wish i knew! I ordered the 503 UltraBright but it arrived to my house broken
How is the POWRIG dummy holding up? I have Core-SWX (Switronix) version and it shuts off the VA if I go past 50% Brightness. Depending on your results, I'd be looking at either the POWRIG solution or just going with a regulated 12V cable.
I never had any issues with the PowRig
I'm thinking of grabbing this monitor when the new BM Pyxis comes out. Is this the best sdi monitor or are there better options?
I mean this video is pretty old. Nothing beats smallHD OS
@@JustinPhillip Justin, there is no up to date video on TH-cam that compares BM OS vs SmallHD. This would be SOOO helpful. I understand SmallHD is the standard choice and likely for good reason, but what is is specifically in the OS vs Blackmagic? Thanks!
I wish they supported Blackmagic RAW for the Fs5. So far they only Support Panasonic AU-EVA1 and Canon EOS C300 Mark II
hmmm sony prolly got a deal with Atomos for ProRes RAW
@@JustinPhillipI know they do, but I like how you can save on an SD card.
Hello Justin, do you know if I can control de camera settings with this monitor ?! I have a broken screen on my BM and I'd like to know if I have a total control of the recording in the camera itself ... Thanks
no i dont think you could
What are your thoughts about Nikon announcing the Z cameras supporting black magic raw
I just ordered that black magic assist for my z6 thank you for the review
i think this monitor is a game changer. HDR 10bit for under a grand is insane enough, but the fact it also records. 🥳
Does the production 4K output BRAW?
@@JustinPhillip It outputs CNG RAW
@@MyronDavismd You’d have to do some research and see if you can record BRAW with that cameras. Its only able to do BRAW with certain cameras
What if you already have a Blackmagic 6k. Can you operate the camera with the screen?
Hey Justin, can you output an HDMI signal when your inputting from SDI. I use SDI out of camera but want to send a wireless signal out through hdmi for others to monitor.
yupp, do it all the time
@@JustinPhillip thanks for the quick reply, really appreciate it. Love your work
As for cameras and monitors (HDMI ports is what I hear mostly) shorting out, would it be something as simple and easy to as turning off/on the wrong thing in the wrong order?
Great update
🙏🏼
Hello, can I use on the 7 inch 4K also the ssd via usb after firmware update?
Makes me want to sell my Shogun 4K and pick one up to use with the pocket 4k...
Billy Tait Yeah buddy! You wont regret it!

I have a Canon M6 Mk2 camera, it does 4K 30fps, would this monitor give me better video quality than my camera? Or would I need to upgrade my camera to benefit from this monitor?
i think you would have to check the specs on your camera and see what it’s capable of outputting via SDI/HDMi
@@JustinPhillip Will do, thank you.
It says hdmi hdr on, clean fhd, and 4k output, h.264.
Did BM fix the latency issue?
Hi Justin, thanks for the great review! Can this downscale the 4K input to HD, like the Ninja? So I could use an affordable wireless transmitter for video village.
yes, have to down convert via whatever camera you’re using
@@JustinPhillip So if this is recording Raw, the Hdmi or SDi output cannot be HD by the Video Assist?
@@hajagosb not sure. I’m pretty sure it is all dependent on whatever camera you’re using and what it’s able to output
What would be the minimum brightness in nits if you were shooting in bright daylight?
Hi justin,
I need your help choosing the right video assist. I could see more codecs and video formats listed in Atomos ninja V and Atomos shogun 7 than in the Blackmagic video assist. Are they having same recording versatility or am I reading it wrong?
Thare Production More codecs? Such as what?
So I’m probably going to sell my Shogun Inferno complete kit and get this. BRAW on the Eva1 would be dope and hopefully on the S1H soon. Plus, a 5” is better than a 7” when you have it on camera all the time. Any recommendations of sites for selling used Atomos products?
not sure. fb market and ShareGrid is whats most popular out this way
@@JustinPhillip ya unfortunately the Inferno just isn’t as popular anymore. Might have to sell to a company and take a hit on the money I’ll get back. Know of any decent companies that don’t rob is selling gear?
My camera only does 3g SDI out. Is the 12g SDI out backwards compatible?
Aleksandar Kuraica oh yea, it will still accept a lower SDI. It’s the same as an HDMI that takes up to 60fps. It can always down rez
Should I choose 5" or 7"?
i find 5” more manageable for on board monitor. But, i did end up selling the 5” and got the 7”, mainly for the full sized SDI
Why use a dummy battery an not the 12v external power connection?
Have you experienced lag? I got the assist 12g 7" when it first came out, but it was lagging and heavy. I still have it, but thinking of buying a smallhd that's lighter and hopefully doesn't lag as much.
No havent noticed that. What camera are you using. Different cameras have different latency issues with HDMI
@@JustinPhillip true, I was using it with the Sony a7iii. But now have the bmpcc 6k, but haven't done a lot of testing
Is it possible to record the computer screen?
@@JustinPhillip Nice, just saw it. Halfway through now. I also have the Tilta focus side handle so it might be a good option. Appreciate the help.

All i can say is thank god- its not a one click to buying products after your videos. I’d be (more) bankrupt
LOL
can i control the bmpcc with this monitor?
Kind of a Shame you can’t output anything higher than 1080 with the pocket 6k
Did you encounter a pink, warm magenta color shift on your display of Video Assist ??
Dont recall, there is an option to calibrate manually

Hi Justin, great video. One question-I'm looking for someone to help me clarify one thing-I'm using BM 6K Pro with Video Assist 7" SDI connected via HDMI cable. As far as I have noticed I only get 1080/24 on Apple ProRes codecs! No BM Raw, no 4K! Is there a workaround around this-I'd need at least 4K/48. Can it be done with the BM Micro converters HDMI-SDI?
are you using the new HDR video assist or the old one? And are you on the latest firmware?

HAHA you're a wild man!
It is difficult to imagine that it is just an internal design problem.
can u controle the bmpcc 4k with the monitor?
Hey Buddy, quick question, I have a ⚠️ symbol on my Lcd and can't record.
It will be stopped after 2 seconds, I turned in the drop frame rate and it doesn't allow me record. maybe you should make a video of it
Pouya Ramzi Never experienced that before. Contact Blackmagic. Or your monitor is getting too hot for some reason. What kind of batteries are you using?
Could this monitor support raw recording from the Sony A7S3?
Yes since the monitor records PRORES.
If I wanted to up res to 4k from another camera would I have to use an SDI?
i dont think up-rez is an option. the monitor just accepts whatever your camera is capable of outputting via HDMI or SDI
