I have a 48" OLED C1 and its the best purchase I've made for my PC. It's absolutely amazing if you do any type of production work. I wanted to post this because the reviewer talked about how the screen was too big and that when he'd leave his desk, he'd rub his eyes and that he probably needed to refocus. I had similar issues and probably the biggest issue was that i had to turn my head from side to side to roam the screen which was very annoying at first. I've been using it for about 2 years now and all of that has changed. It's actually pretty insane how we adapt to our environment. The screen doesn't look big at all now and my eyes have completely adjusted that I can roam the entire 48" panel without having to move my head at all. It's actually quite amazing when you think about it.
LG really needs to get this panel into a 32". It would be gaming gold. I'm perfectly happy with my LG CX 48", but I don't really use it for PC use. Occasionally I will use it for PC gaming, running single player games, but it's mostly for movies, tv content and PS5. It is just too big to sit in front of for hours at a time. A 32" OLED, with a big heatsink to increase brightness and reduce burn in would be perfect.

I believe the panel makers prefer the larger sizes as they are easier to produce. Gamers prefer smaller sizes (42" at the most, probably 38" would be ideal) - they are more suited to being used on a desk, it's easier to see the UI at the edges of the monitor, and they'd have higher DPI for text clarity and mouse movement. Once we get OLED in that smaller size and with ways of reducing or eliminating burn-in without affecting our viewing experience, there will be a flood of purchases. For now though, it feels like the panel manufacturers are struggling to find a combination that they would be willing to sell and that gamers want. I believe there are lots of new OLED models coming out over the next few months. One feature I like about the C2 is being able to set custom resolutions. Thank you for this honest review. As you state, it is a matter of preference if people want a big screen. As for getting nauseous when sitting close, that is a real thing, but not something I suffer from; I want the immersion. I currently have PHL BDM4350UC 43.5” LED monitor, and I would love to get higher refresh rates and HDR support, all of which the reviewed monitor gives. Was on the 38GL950G-B. Fantastic IPS screen one of the best on the market. Due to How good the nano IPS screen actually is you can get colors close to OLED but NEVER the blacks which matters a LOT in gaming. Gaming is a night and day difference. Why? Shading is "blacks". Seriously OLED has some short comings... Like the ASBL/TPC when doing my productivity work annoys me but due to getting actual blacks in shading? Gaming is where you will see the most difference. Like I said it has some draw backs but I dont think I can ever go back to IPS gaming now.
Exactly what i thought, too big and too price compared to an oled TV from LG. Personnaly, even the 42'' is too big because you have to move your head around to see things on screen. I think 38-40'' max could be the perfect match about size.
Was looking for a curved 49" maybe Samsung monitor. An then I thought 3 productive screens next to each other or 4 (2x2) with this thing. More real estate, but the headache thats mentioned here. In another video I seen for gaming you could make it a 32:9 screen thats has the same with as a 49" (bar above and beneath) I think the headache thing could be overcome. Do you agree ?
If someone like me using a Rtx 4090 I don’t recommend the C2 because it will flicker on a hdmi 2.1 you will need the 1.4 port unfortunately I had to return 2 Lg C2s cause they where flickering on me so I just ordered this Monitor and fingers crossed for the Ultragear 48” oled monitor..
I have the C2 and a 4090 and when I first set it up it flickered but after replacing the HDMI 2.1 cable with one that was certified everything’s been fine. Everything except the burn in that happened within 4 months.

Louis Rossmann has multible videos talking about how TV vendors force privacy agreements and terms of service on their customers and i totally agree with him. I refuse to buy a smart tv bc of this. Also the tendency that the smart in smart tv is made up on the cheapest hardware they can find and firmware support might be limited in the future, getting a tv without all the tv stuff and just connecting a pie with a mediacenter os or something like the old nvidia shield gives me way more control and i am not forced to have my data sold. What is best monitor under 1300-1400 USD around 32 inches screen size?
Usage: , Ai modelling and machine learning models, mostly Entertainment and casual gaming in free time
I was definitely debating this monitor, but I already have a LG 27gn950 monitor. so I ended up getting a 48" C2 for gaming and movie consumption.
And good for you. This monitor would be great but its HDR image is terrible - cause default options you cannot change on this monitor (and can on TV) are set completely incorrectly. Reviewers of course do not tell you such things because apparently informing users to avoid bad products is not what bring views
@@e8root this is why I choose the C2 instead. You get a lot more for your money! I researched before buying and found out the Monitor didn’t offer enough for that high price tag.
I think the 43" is the best option for 4k may if your using it that setup.
However, the deal breaker is the dimming of whites, as I use it for multiple tasks, one being photo editing.
I previously bought the PHL 436M6VBPAB as it had HDR, but it is not for desktop use, due to the screen door effect at close range.
So, thank you for helping me avoid buying this - much appreciated!
£900 now here in the UK... it's tempting. Although, might be a little large?? lol
Seems perfect for my setup, I'm sitting 100cm+ away from the screen. I'll add 2 vertical 27" screens to the side which match the height perfectly.
My pc 6 months old (i7 11th gen, 16gb ram, aorus b560 elite, 256gb nvme )and windows 10 (i used 2gb old graphic cars) freeze randomly without any load and i have to restart pc. Sometimes ethernet connected with my phone and someone call than freeze again and again i have to restart. I installed windows 5 times and showed 5 technicians but my pc still freeze...can someone help me i can't do anything about this
Right now the LG C2 48" is $1196 and the LG 48GQ900-B is $1196. Figures. Wondering how they both compare to the ASUS ROG Swift PG48UQ for multi-platform gaming AND desktop computer work tasks. Looking for one for my office during the day and gaming at night/weekends. Both LG C2 and ASUS have a 42" model, but I used to have a 65" OLED as my top monitor for my office before, so size is not a problem. I believe you've used all 3. Any thoughts on the comparisons for all-around use?
I should note the 48" monitor/screen would be wall mounted above the AW3423DW
The biggest difference is the ASUS has better built in speakers, and also has a heatsink to prevent abl and image retention.
I personally prefer the C2 purely due to it having Dolby Vision, I use my 48" C2 in my office mainly for console gaming and films, but I think it was a fantastic purchase.
OLED is second to none at the moment.
Nice monitor but as this is more expensive than the lg c2 48 inch i would choose that instead but 48 inch seems to large to sit so close the lg c2 42 inch would be better option for combined console and pc gaming 👍
LG did that to throw off PC gamers? They want us to buy C2. I hate remote control.
I run a 24” ASUS predator 4K 144 fps. It’s a epic monitor and comes with backlight ❤
It doesn't sound very epic to me.

I’m am use playing games on a 55 inch OLED tv I got the 42 inch C2 it was too small for me so I will be returning it for the 48 inch OLED tv. Reason I’m going with tv vs monitor because I feel like tv give you more options like Dolby Vision. Right now you can’t get this monitor and LG C2 TVs 42 and 48 inch all the same price at 1100 USD
I like bigger screens with 4K, the sweet spot is probably 42, but 48 is awesome as well, no Dolby Vision but than you should buy a Tv not a monitor if you want that future…
Would’ve been perfect if I didn’t purchase my C1 to replace my gigabyte fo48u oled. I’m still annoyed at the non-monitor features I’ve been spoiled with.
why'd you replace the FO48U?? i love mine for the value for money, no BFI at 60fps, and only 24gbps so 4:2:0 without DSC..
@@JPTBradbury my FO48U had a broken control pod on the bottom, but I loved it for its 120hz over hdmi 2.1 on my PS5 and PC. Monitor shuts off every time when you turn off the signal was the icing on the cake. But they didn’t have a replacement stock for 3 months so I bought a C1. Quality is negligible and I can’t even see the difference between Dolby vision and the gigabyte oled.
My only gripe was how slow the controls were with the OSD.
It's on sale for $700 at the moment, I'm planning on buying it since I play farther from where my tvs usually placed. I'm used to big sizes so I feel like it would work for me=) if it was not on sale atm and was $1,500 id go for 42 or 43 inch
Price dopped 600 USD and microcenter in cambridge had three of them. Couldnt pass it up... its rediculous in size for a desk. You overlooked to mention that it has VESA mounts (like TVs) and can be mounted as suuch
For some, the DisplayPort connection is worth the extra money. That's the only way you'll get 4k120hz from an M1 Mac on this panel.
I got this monitor shortly after the impressions video and I do have to say, it’s the best monitor I’ve ever owned hands down…
…*however*, I bought this monitor because I had some pretty niche needs for a computer monitor and knew this going into it. Definitely agree with the review, wouldn’t exactly recommend something like this for most people.
But for me specifically, it’s been absolutely perfect!
100%.....by far best monitor I ever had. Been using it for a week now.
How far do you sit from the monitor?
@@kurovader4078 I'm not listening to anyone who says it's the best monitor unless they say how far they sit from it, if they are using a controller and what types of games they are playing on it (eg. FPS or flight sims). Because I just can't see this being good for a traditional M/K gamer, especially in any FPS games.
@@donkeysunited I think you right. But why no one say how far they are sitting?
@@ronniekregar3482 How far do you sit from it?
Glad i watched this review... This panel is on sale at Best Buy for $699... but I think I'm gonna pass and just see if I can grab a sweet deal on a C3 or a used C2 since I really want a TV replacement that can double as a monitor for single player games, but this really seems more like a TV that wants to be a monitor, but isn't really either.
Also, just subbed... Could be the accent, could be the straight to the point review... who knows
What game is that @ 6:05 ?
Ill be getting 3 of these to go with my racing sim
I am looking for a CPU to pair with my 3070 Ti. I was thinking the i9 12900K with an AIO cooler but I thought I would ask.
Honestly I would just get a C2 OLED at this point and just casual game on console and pick up 1440p gaming on pc.
Thank you
Was on the 38GL950G-B.
Costco has this monitor/tv for $899.99 right now, that’s a great deal!!
Purchased it for 699 this morning, it was still more than i wanted to spend. We’ll see how i like it.
well, any review?@@jamesjetson3812
for me a big screen is great because I race a lot and watch a lot of youtube in 4k
I might be wrong but I don’t think this is QD, just normal OLED
$1,500!! You could do some serious upgrading to your PC with that money 🤑
Haha yep
It's on sale for $1,100. A steal.
Kills me that they gave it DisplayPort but not Dolby Vision. I’m going with the TV as a result.
Unfortunately manufacturers keep doing this for monitors. I checked this out in person and I definitely prefer my C2 48".
Great video. Will this work with the Ergotron HX Desk Monitor Arm?
which wallpaper is at 1:54? Edit: found it - Center point
Exactly what i thought, too big and too price compared to an oled TV from LG.
Personnaly, even the 42'' is too big because you have to move your head around to see things on screen.
I think 38-40'' max could be the perfect match about size.
If you need to move your head to see things on a 48" you need your eyesight checked.
@@drunkhusband6257 try one first dude
bigger is better
These are 699$ now, probably because of what you said and many other reivews have said... too big for a desk.
Confused between the LG & Asus OLED gaming monitor which one to go for
What are the games you were showing in the video?
say you have a big desk, how far back would you want this to be for it to be comfortable?
How do you have Chromecast built-in on your CX?
this is good as a secondary
I have a question: LG TV oled 48 C2 at 800€ or LG monitor 48GQ900 at 1000€ Both absolutely new. Which one i have to buy?
We need an 8k display port 2.0 32 inch oled hdr screen. I would pay 5000€
Is it too big for 1440p gaming? beacuase of the pixel density...and how far should I sit from the display if I buy a 48inch oled monitor..thanks
How is the Ultragear going?
I have the C2 and a 4090 and when I first set it up it flickered but after replacing the HDMI 2.1 cable with one that was certified everything’s been fine. Everything except the burn in that happened within 4 months.
Need some help everything is good but hdr is off idk how to turn it on please help
What size desk are you using
Please tell me why a regular TV uses 60W at this size while this thing uses 180-220W?
What’s a good sound bar for this
Great review thanks. Friend (son) just bought this for me for Xmas $996. The other you talked about. yeah can't get it here in US :( Also I think out of all the ones I watched your the only one complaining (maybe not the right word) the most. Believe it or not you waring glasses can play a part in this. Got a 43" desktop Aorus and no eye problems no neck. Were all different would have been nice if you had said "this could just be me" in my case its just you. Also really like your reviews!
what kind of speakers are those?
Hey man which background description is that on the wallpaper engine?
Ok the one in the beginning. 😂
All the specs I can find say the response time is 0.1ms, when most competing game monitors are 1.0ms. Is this monitor really 0.1ms, and would that make any differnece on a game consol like the PS5?
Yes some dude said it was the smoothest monitor he’s ever owned crazy it can do that at that size I almost don’t believe we’re taking this thing is near crt levels of no lag…. LG IS KILLING THE GAME
Is there any other OLED wit Display Port 1.4? Also attachable on to wall?
Louis Rossmann has multible videos talking about how TV vendors force privacy agreements and terms of service on their customers and i totally agree with him. I refuse to buy a smart tv bc of this. Also the tendency that the smart in smart tv is made up on the cheapest hardware they can find and firmware support might be limited in the future, getting a tv without all the tv stuff and just connecting a pie with a mediacenter os or something like the old nvidia shield gives me way more control and i am not forced to have my data sold. I legit pay more money for something that dosent have a internet connection than something that has it and is just a privacy and end of life nightmare.
Will this monitor work fine with a viewing distance of 135cm? I use adobe programs
Centric must be very happy with the new editor
could you use it as a tv if your using a fire stick or something?
I couldn't see why not
Went with Asus ROG Swift PG42UQ, 48 is way too big.
@Matthew Walsh I just did, thank you for the heads up
@Matthew Walsh it does get noticeably brighter now :)
another dude reviewing a 48 inch screen on a 50cm desk ... i swear to god :))
I have a 48 inch OLED 120hz monitor reason being is I love single player games. God of war and red dead 2.
I have a problem with the sound it works for my xbox but not my MacBook. anyone know how to fix it?
Need help, it’s either this 48 or the new 45 240hz …
I am in the same boat and pre-ordered the LG 45GR95QE. It will arrive next week. But the price for the LG 48GQ900 HDR is nuts actually around 900! So I will test the preordered first!
The reviewer complains the screen is too big, but the sponsors product has an even bigger screen 😂
how is it with the ps5 on that?
This or the samsung arkk?
Best Monitor or TV for a PS5?
Don't think I would even want a 42". My 27" is big to me. I don't mean uncomfortable big. Just it's big, and I would not go above a 32".
then dont buy it! 💀 but in all seriousness distance from display is a huge factor
can this be used with a ps5?
Got it for $750...great buy!
I would use it as a TV instead.
will i have input lag playing the ps5 on this?
It's nice in technical view but it's way to big for a pc monitor why can't they make a OLED monitor in a normal Size
i have the 42 inch version and after a month i have a burn in problem oled is just mot worth the risk
Just bought this for $869.99... I couldn't let it slide.
Is this monitor good for world of warcraft?
I still preffer the Lg C2, is basically the same thing and is half of the price in my country
