@BLamb I would reconsider IPS technology. I just returned the BenQ M3210U, the LG 32GQ950, now gonna get the Sony 42” A90K. Go with OLED and you will thank me later if planning to drop $1K already
@@BLamb It had a lot of blooming and IPS glow. The black areas it just looks gray. Convinced my self over the years that black is gray because I didn’t know any different. I am new to this channel and I have to say your videos are great.I have been watching all of your pc builds recently and they are very helpful to me.keep up the good work
Long-term usage including non-gaming / non-movie / non-video workloads like office applications, video editing and so forth, which include using static elements on the screen for long periods of time would be most interesting for me. I would genuinely like to try an OLED monitor myself, but the thing is that I use my setup for homeoffice as well and on a screen that large I would definitely have four to eight windows open at all times with four of those being in the foreground at all times. I still feel that burn-in would happen to quickly in such a use case. And if that happens, well ... one or several good LCDs would have been the superior choice, even if used for gaming as well.
I've been using a 48" LG CX OLED TV for over a year now as my daily driver for work and games (got it on sale for 50% off at a local electronics store when the C1s came out) and found it to be the perfect size for me and wouldn't want to go back to anything smaller (or bigger). It's nice to see that there are actual monitors in this size now, although I still think it's probably better to get a TV with an equivalent screen as they tend to be cheaper (plus you get full TV functionality if you wanted to use it for that as well for whatever reason - I never understood why monitors using the same panel weren't cheaper than TVs with the same panel).
I’m about to get a 48 inch C2, my only concern is playing a game like battlefield sitting up close. Any idea what the experience is like playing an FPS like battlefield on a 48 inch
I play in a 48c1 and I play BF and it’s a great size it actually feels small compared to a 55 which I have , I’d love a 42 but 48 is fine .. maybe coming from a 27” it would take some getting used too .. but I downsized
9:00 it would be worth testing that at 120Hz. Other reviewers have stated that overclocking indroduces issues. Tech Yes City covered it, and I think The Tech Chap did too.
I have a 48in C2 and sit 46inches from it at my desk. I use 200% scaling and it is really nice. I have 0 issues with text or font. Games and browsing the web are a treat. The size for me is not a problem at all. I love it.
Just wanna say I love your channel man. Recently looking to make the jump from console to pc gaming and I don’t have a ton of pc knowledge. You explain stuff clear and concise, there’s no bullshit included, and you’ve got a great breakdown on everything. I know maybe to the people who’ve been on PC for a long time might not get this, but the info you put is super helpful for those of us just looking to start.
I have ran triple monitor setup for the last 10yrs. About a year ago I bought a 49" Samsung Super Ultrawide 32:9 which wasn't as wide as I was using with triples but wow but a perfect solution to my widescreen gaming. No more tweaking the setup, just set the resolution in game and play. It's basically two 27" 16:9 screens on one panel. After using super wide setups for a long time even big 16:9 monitors just feel too narrow. Just snagged a 32" LG 1440p 165hz monitor for $150 for my son's PC and it's nice but playing my standard games on it just has me wanting more width in resolution. I can't see this monitor or an OLED TV at 75" providing that width. 16:9 is nice for video playback and easy game compatibility which isn't a big issue anymore on 98% of games on 32:9
Bruv, this guy is so funny... Every video, he murders my brain cells... 🤣 Marcus, if one day you decided to experiment a 5 minutes stand-up technology/nerd/irony episode, just for experience in a playlist for TH-cam channel, I'll be the first to support you & help you in anything I can for you! Much love, mate!!!
I was thinking that too but settled for the Samsung 43QN90B. Love it. Only if it had a slight 1800 curve. 100 0 curve for a 32 is way too much for that size. 49 yea! but not 32
I actually already game on a 43" display, and believe it or not but sometimes even that feels a little too small. Genuinely thinking about picking up something like this. Granted, I admit I have a decently big room and my setup is sort of a PC/Console hybrid one, so for my particular case it would actually make sense lol.
People who say that a 48" is too big can just go to hell. They have probably never tried a larger monitor than their 24" 240 hz IPS and they think they are superior
...and never realized that scaling is optional. Run your favorite FPS in 2K without scaling and you got a 32" display ...or in FHD if you prefer - and you're sitting in front of a 24" screen. Some games support borderless if you like to see your Discord and OBS and Twitch chat as well while playing ...or select window mode so you can stretch it to your desired size and aspect ratio (like ultrawide) - works even with BF3 (picture won't be distorted - you just see much more left and right). Good luck doing the opposite on a SMALLER screen ;)
I just got mine this past weekend and for me this is perfect, however I do use a controller for most games. My desk is 30" wide and I have it mounted to the wall. Definitely took some getting used to coming from a 27", but after a couple hours I was good. Just like most OLED's you need a fairly dark room for everything to pop (I need some black out curtains for my office window). Coming from a 1440 IPS panel to this has made every game feel new, almost like they've been remastered. 4k, OLED, 120/138 Hz, what else could you ask for. FYI, the remote from my C1 works for it as well.
I've been using a 50 inches as a monitor with zero problems for years, you just sit 30 cm back and it's the best display you'll ever use, in fact I want a 75 or something like that if I only could pay for it. Being OLED though I would use a secondary monitor for desktop use and keep it with a black wallpaper, and the start bar hidden(no icons)... to be perfectly sure that it doesn't get stuck on the same image.
I am rocking a 48" LG C1 as a computer monitor and I think its fantastic. I do love a big display and if you have the desk space, its incredibly immersive. I have no problem playing FPS games but I am not a competitive player at all.
I've been using the 42" LG C2 OLED as my PC monitor since launch day and its the perfect size. I also like that it has an eARC socket so you can connect it to a Dolby Atmos Soundbar or AV Receiver (which is something that no monitor can do).
Exactly I have the Samsung 43QN90B and love that size. Tried a 55 and it is unpractical for a PC use. 42 is the perfect ticket. Now we need a slightly 42 inch curved like 1800 not 1000 like samsung. Why still make monitors Need to give better TV as monitors than you can use it as a dual function. They are getting better.
I think this size monitor is good for a second (top) vertical monitor setup or for playing a bit away from your desk. I'm waiting for LG or Alienware to update their 38 inch ultrawide monitors. I would definitely get this to place over it
When I got the LG 27GP950-B I only spent a week with the stand and ended up mounting it to wall mount because of the stands size. It took up my desk mat and keyboard space
The OLED and size is great, because you don’t get any borders interfering with your view compared to have 3-4 monitors side by side, the downside is the 120hz and the resolution. It’s 4K so it doesn’t really help with 1080p or 1440p and that’s not even considering that you can’t even hit 120fps on 4K natively. The downside about the size as well is how spread out the pixels get the bigger the display, so overall 4K wouldn’t look as good on a 48 inch compared to a 27 inch.
@@ronniekregar3482 so this tv doesn’t have 120hz? 1080p and 1440p are made specifically for 4K resolution? and having one big screen without borders is not better than having multiple monitors with borders? and gpus can hit 120hz on 4k? hm sure sounds like 90% is incorrect
@@GUY-on-Earth you cat hit 120fps native 4k. Nobody is buying this for anything less than 4k. 42 to 48 is literally the perfect size for 4k. There are no 27 inch OLED's, so no 27 inch monitors will look anywhere near as good as this, regardless of pixel density.
I live in an alcove studio apt and my current setup is in a small corner on a 48in desk. With this I would honestly get rid of my TV and place my setup there on a much larger desk. Definitely wanna invest in one.
mount those speakers on some sturdy monitor arms and swing them out to the side or up above the monitor. just build a little base (i just used 1/4 plywood and put a 1' lip around the base) to screw the monitor mount into. as long as the base is on securely and the speakers fit inside the base should be perfectly stable. or if the speakers have mounting holes/bracket already use that to connect the monitor arm directly. ive got my jamo c103 speakers (theyre big, and heavy) up on some cheap $30 amazon special monitor arms and it holds them up perfectly. so my speakers are up off the desk entirely and i can move them around quite a bit to place them just where i want.
I think something like this is great for a content creator / productivity / gamer. I imagine it would be dizzying at first but might get used to it, just need to set the proper distance for yourself
I've got the LG C1 that I have mounted to my wall and my desk sits a few inches back so I sit at a pretty comfortable distance and honestly I just cannot go back to a normal monitor. I have an ASUS TUF 1440 monitor which I used again when I went to a friends place and every game we played I just couldn't help but think, damn... I miss my OLED already. The colors, clarity, everything about it just looks phenomenal. It does take some getting used to but once you have one for a while and use it for games it's hard to go back to 1440 on a monitor with no HDR and such. Love my C1. Best thing I ever bought for my setup.
VESA 300x200 and requires a very heavy duty arm like a ergotron HX or a Wali... monitor weight without stand is 34lbs so your pushing it on a WALI. Using the monitor in portrait for productivity is epic. You don't need to scale image, since the monitor is so big, and its a TON of real-estate you can actually read.
I hope they release a 42 inch version, too (I know the TV model, but I need a real monitor). I would: 42 inch + 24 inch WQHD vertical (both 54cm total height). By that you would view in the middle of the 42 inch and are still able to use applications / games in full screen mode + up to 2 additional windows on the 24 inch. A perfect combination of ultra wide and multi monitor advantages 😍
I think this monitor is good size if you wall mount it. Any PC display over 32 inches should be wall mounted so you can get a comfortable viewing distance.
This size is great for me. But, I'm different since I no longer play online first person shooters, only single player shooters and world building games for the most part. I want to put this ON the wall instead of on the desk and really clean things up. I think it will be awesome.
Depending on how close you are/ how frequently you are using it for long term eye sight issues imo. I reckon if its wallmounted or desk clamped right at the back it would look nice but probably closer to 40-42 would be more optimal at the viewing/using range.
Excited yet nervous about picking mine up this weekend, I’ve played on 24, 27, and 32 monitors (currently use dual Samsung Odyssey G70A) and I play alot of CoD, I’m most nervous about the size and how well I’ll perform on CoD because of it, you’re video was plenty helpful, but I feel this is one of those things where you just have to “try it and see how it goes”
I have the 48” Aorus FO48U oled. I love it! I use it as a “tv” I guess. I have my PlayStation and PC hooked to it. I have the monitor sitting right at the foot of my bed and I just game from my bed so for me it’s a good distance away to play. However I still plan on doing a desk set up for my pc and I’ll down size to a 32-34” display and just keep the FO48U for console gaming
I think that 48" oled monitor looks quite nice Markus! It might take some getting used to if you usually use a small one. You just have to have the space to get a bigger desk!🐁
i use my lg oled cx 65 inches tv for 4k 120 hz gaming. i sit about 5 feet away from my tv and enjoy the immersiv experience which i can highly recommend.

Good luck doing the opposite on a SMALLER screen ;) For MSFS, DCS, Forza, Star Citizen (games you probably sit further away due to desk/chair mounted HOTAS and/or gamepad or steering wheel etc.) you run the full 48" scaled option or native 4K resolution ..if you got a beefy GPU.
@jetstream sam I don't know anything about gaming PC. But my son keeps asking for one for his headset. Do you have any recommendations? I would greatly appreciate your opinion.
48inch is a little too big for me, although it looks really nice. I do however love a 43 inch monitor, any bigger and I’d have to move my head along with the cursor. All in all, thanks for the great review mate!
Can't wait for the review! Been debating on whether this would be a good step up from my LG CX that I'm running now. I am definitely interested to see how lighting and color stack up against the current OLED's on the market.
I'm currently wanting to build a new high end gaming rig and watching so many of your videos. Can't wait for the full review of this and would be interested to know how you think it compares to the QD OLED. The age old question of higher frame rate or higher resolution I guess. Anyway, loving the channel , thanks for all the information.
I've been playing on TV's since COD 4 released. I know you guys will say I'm stupid but I play games for fun and for my own entertainment. The tv that I used was a old 40" with a VGA input 😅 now I play on a 24" 144hz 1080p monitor BUT that's because I don't have too much space now, as soon as I have space, I will buy this 48" monitor. I miss big screens, for me as a lot of benefit's 😅 but that's me
Looks amazing, definitely looking to buy either 48" or 42" in the near future. I've heard a lot of people talk about their RGB reflecting on the screen and distracting them while gaming, any comments on that?
I just started to use the C2, and had heard a few comments on reflections though not rgb specifically. Ive only noticed them a few times, and that usually when the screen went dark for a moment and there was plenty of light in the background. It didnt bother me. The only points I think buyers of the C2 should be aware of is that it is a tv first and behaves like one. Small things like the computer waking up the monitor and having a display port 1.4 connection would be really nice. But those are it. Otherwise I would say that going from a smaller monitor like a 27" or other, these large displays are really quite stunning. I watch a fair bit of youtube as well and wish that I could have bought something like this years ago. I'm going to look into the 48" GQ a bit more, but only for the reasons I stated. Otherwise the C2 is has really impressed me.
So I finally got a PS5, so now I'm in search of a 4k display. The LG C2 is out of the question that was originally the plan but the funds aren't there ATM . So what should I look for now a cheaper 4k TV or a gaming monitor?!
I love mine fastest monitor I’ve played on (and I’ve bought about 10 and returned them in like a 3 months span lol so I’ve tested the speed on many monitors) for me but I play only nba 2k and sometimes BF2042 which I haven’t tested yet… but for those who do play nba 2k and happen to get this monitor make sure to turn off all the vrr settings on the console and monitor and any other setting that is made to supposedly make the image clearer… once you do that you’ll have the fastest response time you can get for NBA2K!
Too big. But it has its use. For me the max monitor size i would go for is 16:9 32 4k screen. 27 is pretty much enough for regular size desks as yours.
What is this monitor recommended windows scale? my 32 inch 4k shows: 150% (Recommended). 100% scale is always perfect, higher PPI than size is bad viewing experience for some applications text.
You get used to the size after a week or so. I've been using ~50" 4K screens since about 2015, I dunno why anyone would go smaller. LG OLED48CX at the moment, pretty much the same thing as that new one
Personally I think 32" is the sweet spot for a desktop monitor, but a 48" OLED sounds awesome for a bedroom gaming setup. It's probably a bit small for a living room however (by US standards anyway)
The OLED has perceptually 0 ghosting my dude, what you are seeing is persistence blur not ghosting, ghosting is a function of the monitors inner workings, whereas persistence blur is a function of your mind way of constructing mental imagery, the reason higher refresh monitors look less blury isn't because they have less ghosting it's because the frames persist for less time on your screen and therefore persistence blur is minimized, no other panel technology other than OLED has as fast as pixel response time, so your high refresh monitors have a lot of ghosting by comparison.
I have a question for y’all should I wait to upgrade parts of my prebuilt PC. I saw that the fans are common problems. So should I replace that or wait and see. Haven’t had a PC since vista so I’m lost
I bought a 65 inch tv and I sat down to watch it and felt stupid. It was just way too big. I hung in there. Today, I have a 72 inch tv. Basically, you adjust to the size in a few days.
I ordered this monitor yesterday and while my order was getting ready to ship, I canceled last minute and got the 42 C2 for the same price at $1296. Did I make a mistake in second guessing myself? I wanted the bells and whistles the tv offers and the drawbacks the monitor lacks at the same price
I think that aspect ratio is way better than an Ultrawide. When you think about it a wider screen you have to sit back to get the FOV, yet the screen just gets smaller as you move back. A larger screen with larger items on it you're able to move back yet still see everything AND get the full FOV. Confusing but sitting far back on an ultrawide to get FOV in- you won't be able to make out text or small details. I prefer high pixel density and don't want to be too far away that I miss small items and details, plus don't wish for heaps of eye travel or turning the head unless it's a movie. 34" OLED in this aspect might be cool, but sharp clear text is still an downfall with OLED.
Is this monitor good for wow - World of Warcraft, PUBG and Ark survival evolved? Im using DELL Alienware 27 AW2720HFA but it's max resolution is 1920 x 1080 Full HD was wondering for something bigger.
I would mind a test week but 43 inch is my monitor for work and gaming. I don't feel exceeding my size will be hard to adjust but I also don't play competitively.
my apologies for asking this but ive been looking for a while I basically want to copy your pc build and ive seen you do some personal rig videos but they aren't the one in the Phanteks Eclipse P600S Case, is there anyways you can tell me the products you use for that pc or just link me a video you made already making it :))) thank you Centric!!!

@@matt-f1c Thank you Matt. I will get the C1 48 inch
Omg bro thnk u sooooooooooooo much
Sorry m late i just came from school
Ur my favourite TH-camr
Cheers
If this came in a 42" version, I'd literally buy one right now. And, if it had a higher refresh rate, it would be absolutely perfect!
For 4k monitor 120hz or 144hz is good. We are still limited on 4k and Hz :( but I know your point. Not everyone can afford a PC to play at 4k :(
they do...and I have it. It's called the C2 lol
I love it.
Wow havent seen your vids in years , good to see you are still out and about, I remember watching your early vids
Glad to help!
16:9 is nice for video playback and easy game compatibility which isn't a big issue anymore on 98% of games on 32:9
Your videos are extremely pleasant to watch. And also insightful!
Bruv, this guy is so funny...
Every video, he murders my brain cells... 🤣
Marcus, if one day you decided to experiment a 5 minutes stand-up technology/nerd/irony episode, just for experience in a playlist for TH-cam channel, I'll be the first to support you & help you in anything I can for you!
Much love, mate!!!
I've used a 48" display for 3 years and in many ways it is amazing, I am downsizing to a 32" curved G5. I think for my uses it will be fine.
I have the LG38gn950 and think it's the perfect size for everyday use. Now they just need to produce a 38" ultrawide OLED and I'm in monitor heaven.
Great video as always. Would you say this would be a great alternative to a tv for console gaming instead of pc gaming?
Jeez a while cinema screen for a moniter! I'm a couple seconds in and I'm just thinking whoah?
Just ordered mine to replace my triple monitor setup. Can't wait!!! 😁
Looks terrific, Id like a 48 inch wide screen as my dream monitor.
Just came across your channel and.....................pleasantly surprised. You earned a sub. :-)
I use a LG CX 55 inch as my primary display on my desk and love it! Couldn't go smaller now.
I think this size monitor is good for a second (top) vertical monitor setup or for playing a bit away from your desk. I'm waiting for LG or Alienware to update their 38 inch ultrawide monitors. I would definitely get this to place over it
“What on earth is this?!…it’s more like a weapons than it is a remote”. That line gutted me lol
Lol, 90% of what you just said is totally incorrect
I tried a 55 like the Ark 55 and it was too big for PC use. so I bought a 43 inch Samsung 43QN90B and love it. Perfect size for gaming and work.
One of these with a Nvidia 4090 and playing MSFS2020 or DCS and I won't have to ever leave my home again :)
Such a fun and engaging review
Dude, you're crushing it! I love your work and explanations. Keep up the good work, sir!!
That remote reminds me of my old laser disc remote with the dial, interesting.
i just got this to use with DCS world. So glad i got it....i went from a 60hz 82 inch tv so i was hoping i didn't hate the size change
This monitor is on sale for $899 at Best Buy and other retailers. Got mine.
I have a question: LG TV oled 48 C2 at 800€ or LG monitor 48GQ900 at 1000€ Both absolutely new. Which one i have to buy?
27" 28" still my sweet spot. Anything more I'm just to close to enjoy it
I think that 48" oled monitor looks quite nice Markus!
Just ordered. I won’t be using mine as a actually "desk’ set up so I think the screen size is cool.. I don’t plan to be that close to it.
Considering this only has freesync premium and not the better freesync premium pro -
is the HDR being affected in anyway??? Thanks.
Tell me you're flexing by TELLING ME YOU'RE FLEXING
"We're gonna have to lower the desk"
Just run your favorite FPS in 2K without scaling and you got a 32" display ...or in FHD if you prefer - and you're sitting in front of a 24" screen. Some games support borderless if you like to see your Discord and OBS and Twitch chat as well while playing ...or select window mode so you can stretch it to your desired size and aspect ratio (like ultrawide) - works even with BF3 (picture won't be distorted - you just see much more left and right).
In your opinion...what kind of gaming PC would be good for connecting my Oculus quest 2 VR headset for better fps and graphics?
@jetstream sam I don't know anything about gaming PC. But my son keeps asking for one for his headset. Do you have any recommendations? I would greatly appreciate your opinion.
48inch is a little too big for me, although it looks really nice. I do however love a 43 inch monitor, any bigger and I’d have to move my head along with the cursor. All in all, thanks for the great review mate!
Can't wait for the review! Been debating on whether this would be a good step up from my LG CX that I'm running now. I am definitely interested to see how lighting and color stack up against the current OLED's on the market.
It’s a downgrade in every other aspect vs CX - aside from it being able to overclock lol
@@Mako2x3 lol, how?
Looks great but the size, like you said: over kill
I think 27" will always be ideal especially for someone with a desk setup
I'm currently wanting to build a new high end gaming rig and watching so many of your videos. Can't wait for the full review of this and would be interested to know how you think it compares to the QD OLED. The age old question of higher frame rate or higher resolution I guess. Anyway, loving the channel , thanks for all the information.
Great video!
I miss big screens, for me as a lot of benefit's 😅 but that's me
Real nice! Thank you
Looks amazing, definitely looking to buy either 48" or 42" in the near future.
Looking like a Far cry villain with that trouser/Jean.
My desk is 36" deep. Hope that's enough. Monitor comes tomorrow.
Really thinking about it, but LG has no idea when they are releasing it in Australia. Not super keen on importing one from the US.
For me 32 is perfect. I would like to try a 48. That’s really the only way to decide.
I have a question for y’all should I wait to upgrade parts of my prebuilt PC. I saw that the fans are common problems. So should I replace that or wait and see. Haven’t had a PC since vista so I’m lost
Does it have an ultrawide option? If not, how does it perform if you create that in windows?
I bought a 65 inch tv and I sat down to watch it and felt stupid. It was just way too big. I hung in there. Today, I have a 72 inch tv. Basically, you adjust to the size in a few days.
Quick question.. Where did you get your desk?
Should I get this or samsung odyssey g8?
I ordered this monitor yesterday and while my order was getting ready to ship, I canceled last minute and got the 42 C2 for the same price at $1296. Did I make a mistake in second guessing myself? I wanted the bells and whistles the tv offers and the drawbacks the monitor lacks at the same price
If you’re just play on next gen consoles, than yess, you made the best choice. But if you play on pc than you made a big mistake.
@@foxriver1697 appreciate the response, can you explain? I have never been a pc gamer and have never built a pc so I apologize for the ignorance.
Lg48 is better for console while the 42 c2 is better for pc so yup you did a mistake but it’s your discussion
been loving my aorus 48 oled. i dont find it too big at all, not sure i could go down to 42
I think that aspect ratio is way better than an Ultrawide.
See now I would have this in the living room so I'm on the sofa play a bit like my console
32" and a height adjustable stand, rotation, pivot, and maybe Dolby Vision.
I had philips equivalent (but 55") Way, way to big for my mancave sadly....I'd say 32" is the sweet spot.
Hello, I wish to know about the ultrawide switch.
Does it work properly on a game with full screen at 120hz 10bit color ?
thank you.
What’s better G.skill Trident Z RGB or Corsair Vengance RGB Pro
I work on my gaming pc, curious what this would be like in non gaming/productivity use cases
my apologies for asking this but ive been looking for a while I basically want to copy your pc build and ive seen you do some personal rig videos but they aren't the one in the Phanteks Eclipse P600S Case, is there anyways you can tell me the products you use for that pc or just link me a video you made already making it :))) thank you Centric!!!
I think 42" is the max for that sitting distance.
Is it possible to mount the tv to a free floating monitor stand or wall mount?
