maybe that's because by the looks of it, unless the case is open then the GPU fans are trying to pull air from almost right up against the clear cover, with the exhaust being pushed out below the rear fan. terrible airlfow

Having all the openings doesnt mean it will have good airflow. The fans will draw cold air from everywhere so there won’t be a good airflow from one direction.
My case makes more sense I feel like, the GPU + MB gets fresh air from 3 fans on the front and bottom of the case, and the CPU pulls fresh air in the back, then I have 3 fans that vent up through the top (heat rises naturally). This GPU is not getting very good air flow in my opinion. It's got a mixed bag of hot air from the giant CPU cooler blowing hot air into the case, and the fresh air from the bottom. That back fan is way out numbered... 5 fans (2 for CPU + 3 on GPU) vs 1 tiny little ventilation fan in the back.
@TheJomamaboy you never want to intake from the top. You lose too much efficiency like that as the hot air in the case naturally gravitates towards the top of the case. Top fans should always be exhaust so the lower density of the hot air helps them do their job.
Agreed. Was my immediate thought as soon as he showed the case off. Too many openings, bad for numerous reasons. It greatly reduces the static pressure of the air flow since air can go just about anywhere in the case. It reduces the air flow you want to the critical components. It makes it difficult to achieve positive pressure, and will suck in dust from all of those many openings. (Although if you have enough intakes, it may compensate for some of that by forcing far more air in than is being exhausted.) The one positive it brings is that it's very unlikely to have any pockets of dead air. (Though the location of your fans becomes far more important then) So you'll have at least a little air flow everywhere. But that doesn't make up for all of the negatives. You don't WANT air going everywhere and coming in from everywhere in a case. Might as well just build with an open frame case instead. If I were going to build with this case I'd aim for far more air being pulled in than exhausting out, with the goal of having the positive pressure keeping fresh air quickly flowing out every opening in the case.
I'm going to have to disagree. I personally dislike how vertical GPU mounting looks, it's quite ugly and ruins the look of the PC and the design of cards. I like the massive bulky cards (like we saw with the STRIX series cards, especially now the STRIX 4090 is bigger than a Fat PS2)
@@stonecoldslate And that card will get heat soaked being right up on the glass like that. Glass heats up and it has what, quarter of an inch gap from it? Lol terrible case unless you can mount it horizontally, that's a different story.
@TheRedRavenTRR ^^^ This. Every test comparison I've ever seen, including my own, your GPU drops a couple degrees Celsius by moving it from a vertical mount to a horizontal mount. You'd need a case big enough that there's a significant gap between the card and the side of the case in order to negate that. It just adds too much resistance to the air flow with it right by the side of the case.
@@BaneSIlvermoon Exactly, I actually had a vertical setup a few years back but switched and immediately saw better thermals. That cases mount also demanded the card sit right up on the glass, but yeah a vertical mount is fine as long as the case has good clearance.
@@BaneSIlvermoon how does a horizontal mounted GPU stay cooler when the fans are 2-3" above bottom plate of a PC? i would think the horzontal mounting creates stress with the sag from the weight
Have to say this is great content. I've rebuilt several laptops over the last 15 years i.e. swapping faulty screens, motherboards, upgrading cpus (this was before they started soldering them to the motherboard), ram, screen cables, screens, hard drives etc. Only problem I've found is the palm rest removal to be more difficult on new laptops due to cheaper plastics causing them to crack if not careful. Weirdly though, I always thought building a pc would be extremely difficult in comparison. The fact that you build different gaming computers for beginner/advanced builders/gamers and showing the different budgets for builds whilst getting the best results is fantastic. Well done, Sir. Keep up the great content.
@@Loki-cd9nu that’s very true, although I’ve always found the larger the Lego pieces the easier it is to work on, I.e. cars and motorbikes. You have to admit, the smaller the Lego the bigger the headache…especially when it comes to tiny screws. May I ask what your latest PC build was? I’m using Pcpartpicker to build a basic gaming PC to play. Nothing fancy, just enough to play some older games I have.
I built in this case and here's what I thought. 1) The top rad tray has the clearance to slide forward a couple inches but does not allow it to be mounted there with screws. The case is notched out to accept the tray in that position, but the tray doesn't line up with the existing screw holes when moved forward. I think 4 extra threaded holes would allow the rad hoses to come down into the case at the rear instead of how its only possible for them to come down in the front. 2) The HDD sleds take up a lot of space in the rear compartment where's there's not a ton of room. Also, the screws are offset, so you can only mount the sleds in one way. If you could flip them or even remove the tray from the rear blank(cover) that would give you a lot more room without leaving a large hole in the back of the case. 3) The bottom fans have the cord connected at the side (center between corners) of the fan instead of the corner like most fans. This means the case has a hole that lines up with the Hyte fans and not aftermarket. Also the screws for the bottom fan could be an extra 2mm in length. The popular Arctic P14 fans are a hair too thick to mount without aftermarket screws. 4) The cutout for the rear I/O plate on mine was a mm to large top to bottom. This lets you see in past the I/O shield. IDK how a snap in shield would fit. Also (visual only) I think the small opening above the vertical GPU screws on the rear of the case could use one of those little sliding panels to finish it off. Would just look a lot more professional. 5) This is a very ventilated case. Could be good for airflow if you mount your fans correctly. This case would also be a really good water cooling candidate. Being so open allows dust to build up inside much easier. In a custom loop build, there are less fans to move dust through the system. This case is also a bit noisier than other cases I've built in. The extra noise is likely due to it's open design. 6) The back compartment is pretty tight for cable routing. There isn't as much room as I expected. If you have multiple control modules for fans and or cable extensions, you'll be cramming stuff pretty hard.
Although I personally wouldn't opt for this this, I've seen some quite creative things done with this case, including a whole 12.6" LCD screen placed behind the corner glass piece as a system status display. Refer to reddit for that one.
I’ve become obsessed with itx builds after building my own, I don’t think I could ever go back to such a massive case like this again. It does look unique though.
@@damientech88 I can see that if using stock components. I currently have an NR200P, it’s on the bigger side of itx, but it’s a custom water cooled build. Triple radiator with a Ryzen 9 5900x and a 3080. Far from a potato and with all noctua fans it’s nearly silent while gaming
i love how you quite literally OUTDID the entire thing, fully maxed it, and went over the line to the point where it was unnecessary, yet only put 2 ram in 🤣 I loved the vid, it was sarcastic humurous, and the pc looks absolutely amazing, thank you mate!🤗
I like this case and layout, but probably a bit bigger than what I want. Thats why I went with a Lian Li air mini. I wanted that side intake for my cpu aio so it wouldn't get the hot air from my gpu. This case does look good though with the setup you built. And if I had a larger desk I would definitely consider the Hyte case.
Its a nice looking case but a confused case. The forced vertical mounting doesnt lend it self for thick power air cooled gpus. Its water cooled capability is that of a small tower that takes up less space. Can it work? sure, i just dont care for its limitations.
It’s actually intended for water cooling, Hyte even stated that. He did a very suboptimal build and gamersnexus in their review flat out said to not put a 3 fan air cooled GPU on this case
@@SaturnTubes yeah i know hyte said that but like i said most small towers can fit as many rads and still fit thick air cooled cards just fine. It doesnt do water cooling any better than most cheap pc cases but does air cooled builds worse than most cheap cases.
Yeah this Case is just one people will buy to say they have one, it's really a logistical nightmare especially if you use Add in sound cards and capture cards. The vertical GPU is pure BS and is a niche aesthetic for mostly the clueless. I like it but that forced GPU design destroys any chance of using it.
I think this case is fantastic, offers a lot of features but its price leaves a bit to be desired. I'd really love to see more performance oriented cases, similar to the HP Omen 45L case how they have a separate chamber above the case for a 120mm-360mm radiator so you can isolate the cpu loop and keep the gpu hot air in the case.
The 45L was ok, but it wasn't anything CRAZY in changing temps, actually, in another case, with the same internals, it ran cooler than it did in it's own case.
My Temps dropped 20% its very well made and if you get good bottom fans it's like ram air on your gpu... I put my cpu cooler in the vertical position and filled the fan slots up top...it moves a lot of air.
@@brettscott3759 this might help drasically for someone with air cooled cpus but i use a custom luquid cooling loop, I have yet to find a case that provide total thermal isolation between the cpu and gpu, that would be my perfect case, idc about looks anymore even after going for looks with my current build, i want total performance.
@@ArrowStudios actually that's my plan with this case I'm going to do a closed loop 3 radiators and two pumps... so I can pull from a thick radiator as a reservoir with a valve solenoid that's temperature controlled... I'll let you know... my best buddy is a water hvac programmer and this is a long awaited challenge my dude. Every one is going to have their preference or opinion this case gives me the dynamics I'm going to need and that's going to be the room on the bottom for a radiator (280) and a (280) on the side and a nice thick (360) up top... it would be enough to cool a dirt bike... 😎 👌 😉
Lol, no. Even Jay2cent made a simplified video. The basic rule is just not to have the pump as the highest point! You can clearly see the rad is still higher than the pump.
Great looking build, but with a rookie mistake bro to mount the AIO that way, the pump will trap air inside it instead of the radiator. Which will result in heat transfer issue and pump failure as the time goes. The AIO should be flipped up, the hoses should sit higher than the pump. Thank you!
@@jaymata1218 Air can't be trapped with the rad at that position cause no gap at the back it has tight channels which will push the air back on the hoses and then get it trapped in the pump. It doesn't matter what you install first as long as the hoses aren't at the bottom.
That is not a case, that’s an aquarium. 🤣😂🤣😂 You need tropical fish in it. 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 great video. Every time I watch a gaming PC build I get even more confused as to what I want in my build. 😖🤯😵💫🤕
Just a heads up you probably should have mounted the radio with the tube's at the top to make sure your AIO performs best and doesn't run partially dry. Otherwise nice job
I love cases that have a window in the front, like this and the 011D from Lian Li. I wish they had just done a black fan in the back though. Weird corner to paint to buyer into instead of keeping it all red/black. Also a quick suggestion, you should get a soft lighting box, or maybe try raising your ring light higher. The glare off the case was a bit distracting.

Informative and thought out. Thank you, there are a billion PC, build videos with no talking are very little and some guy modding the PC, in ways that no one who doesn't have prior knowledge can understand. Kudos to you!
Can’t imagine having a red case. I mean I love the design but imagine wanting to have any other color rgb in case and it would just look off. The white and black though… a real masterpiece of a case.
I love the case... but, I'm different! Been bedridden almost 5 yearsand my PC sits on a desk near my bed... and this thing has the low front USB ports and power switch... I need those!!! I use a stick at the moment to turn my Be Quiet best on... sucks.
One thing that I ran into with my build using the Z690-A Prime is apparently some mobo manufacturers have put settings in that make it really difficult to install Windows 11 by making it to where the mobo wouldn't recognize any NVMe SSDs. Quick trip to people that know more about those settings than me fixed it within a day but they said it was really annoying. Just a warning for anyone using the new Z690 boards.
I was not a pc man. But I learnt from your video. I assamble my own gaming PC. Actually in my place PC is not a precious thing. But I love PC so I learnt it.
I have the case, and i love everything about it except the power button... such a nice case, able to show off so much... but they only gave it a solid white led power button xD.. seems pretty weak considering the thought in the rest of the case.
I got it in a pre built and its just nice, and anyone wondering how strong the panels are... I have a suction mount for my phone and can yeet the phone around without any play from the glass panel(s)
i do have this case with a 2x120mm AIO in the same position blowing air out with 3x120mm fans going out the top and swapped the bottom fans for 2 BioniX F140 fans. runs pretty quiet! dont often hear the fans at all! though this case has been mentioned to be more optimized for water cooling/custom loops, it seems to work fairly well with an AIO too. my future build for this pc would either include a full custom loop or a 3x120mm AIO on top for the cpu and a gpu with a built in 2x120mm AIO for the side, but again the airflow for this case seems to give quite a bit of flexibility great vid tho! glad you didnt break the tempered glass all over your desk 😱
the volume of air coming into the case is equal to the volume of air exiting the case, then a perfect balance has been achieved, with that said the case only matters as long as you can pull out the hot and cold air equally. The way everyone is installing their fans create a vortex Recyling the hot air with the cold but over time will not cool. Like said before you need direct airflow hot out cold in. Sometimes too much ventilation causes this to rely completely on the fans rather than science of airflow.
One small thing about the video: Lian Li did all the air-flow stuff, in the lancool II mesh, that you said was something new done by this case. I definitely have a fan mounted on the bottom of my case (there are 2 spots made for a fan on) blowing directly at my GPU's fans/air intakes (you did say later on that this case seems Lian Li inspired which makes sense) Otherwise, it looks dope. I think it's just not my style
Wow, great build video. I'm going to follow your build and make me my own RED "Fish tank" computer gaming system. With Starfield coming out soon, how do you think this build will hold up? Starfield being a promoted AMD game.
Honestly my biggest question at the moment with these pc builds, is where do you plug in all the fans that you have installed into the pc? Like are you using splitters to connect more than one fans and rgb connecters into the one header or some other way? Awesome build still and love the look and the space of the chassis. Amazing job!
He connects all of them to the fan controller ( mentionned at 12:30 ) and that fan controller connects to the motherboard which is from where he gets the power
Looks good but they need a version with a 140mm fan in the front at least kinda half glass half mesh grill with a 140mm fan, i would consider one for sure .
Better temps on gpu mounted the normal way. Fans seamed to a little bitt to close to the glass. Having the Lian li o11 Dynamic Evo, my self. This case does not look to bad :)
Did you install the radiator like that to help hide the cords? Would that leave the potential for air to get into the cords on the plate side of the cooling system since it is the higher point?

(Although if you have enough intakes, it may compensate for some of that by forcing far more air in than is being exhausted.)
The one positive it brings is that it's very unlikely to have any pockets of dead air.
I built my first pc in this case, finished it about a week or 2 ago, I absolutely love it
What the name of the case ?
@@YESNOY25HYTE Y60
Love the build and the case, but might I recommend changing the radiator orientation with the inlet/outlet at the top, rather than the bottom.
The radiator pump will likely last longer and run more quietly/efficiently in the bottom orientation shown.
The most beautiful thing about this case is that on the glass corner section, lots of people put in sick LCD screens.
I love the Vertical GPU mounting. all cases should be like that considering how bulky the new GPU's are
I'm going to have to disagree.
As someone that has fixed laptops and phones and built a few pcs building pcs are so easy its like adult legos
@@3sray1 most recent build was a 3090 ti with a ryzen 9 64gbs of ddr4 and a nzxt aoi in a lian li 011
@@Loki-cd9nu That's awesome, mate. Hope that set up works perfectly for you.
I see that case on GN a lot. It looks fantastic and I'm sure it's great. That being said... It's still $200, which is more than my zen 3600 CPU cost.
your in the wrong hobby if your broke lol
@@mr_potato_aym191 ain't broke fool. Just not interested in dropping two benjie's on a box.
@@mRibbons the riser cable is a lot of the extra expense.
Mind posting the link?
19:20 that gave me flashbacks to the video of the guy pulling off the sheet and his whole computer short circuited
I’ve become obsessed with itx builds after building my own, I don’t think I could ever go back to such a massive case like this again. It does look unique though.
I always preferred smaller cases, but a month ago I built 2 pc's with that case (one white and one black) and don't regret it, it looks amazing.
I like ITX but small case = small fans = lots of noise or potato components.
That's exactly what this case does as well. It's side intake for the AIO, and bottom intake for the GPU...
Yea, it's big. Smaller than an o11 dynamic, but much bigger than a compact ATX case.
My jaw dropped seeing this case, holy crap, when I get to building a new PC, this is probably gonna be it.
Can you vertically mount a 4090?
Wow. This case would look crazy with some rigid tubed custom watercooling action!
you love ADHD freakshows?
I got the Hyte Y60 White when they first came out. I love the case, but I would highly recommend changing the stock fans to something quieter.
The 45L was ok, but it wasn't anything CRAZY in changing temps, actually, in another case, with the same internals, it ran cooler than it did in it's own case.
imagine when the glass breaks
The vettel gif ties it all together, sick build!
Shouldn’t the radiator tubes on the aio be above the pump? I.e. the radiator should be spun 180
yeah, I dont know why people keep putting the radiator upside down like this!
Lol, no. Even Jay2cent made a simplified video. The basic rule is just not to have the pump as the highest point! You can clearly see the rad is still higher than the pump.
11:37 Puts in the radiator in the correct way :)
Great looking build, but with a rookie mistake bro to mount the AIO that way, the pump will trap air inside it instead of the radiator. Which will result in heat transfer issue and pump failure as the time goes. The AIO should be flipped up, the hoses should sit higher than the pump. Thank you!
not true, pump is lower than the top of the radiator.... and he installed the pump after the radiator, he's fine
@@jaymata1218 Air can't be trapped with the rad at that position cause no gap at the back it has tight channels which will push the air back on the hoses and then get it trapped in the pump. It doesn't matter what you install first as long as the hoses aren't at the bottom.
@@GlitchBomb So pump is lower than the radiator, hose runs down. Air rises, won't get stuck in the hose.
babe wake up, Centric finally built in a Hyte case
Thanks for the casing review, I will get this one for my next new PC build. It's looks nice and unique!
A case that size with no optical drive bay is kind of ridiculous but bottom airflow is always nice
I just actually upgraded an entire machine.. and this was the case i got!! I LOVE IT!!! great review on it Centric!
And OMG the DELAY! that happened to me too!!!
Informative and thought out. Thank you, there are a billion PC, build videos with no talking are very little and some guy modding the PC, in ways that no one who doesn't have prior knowledge can understand. Kudos to you!
At corsair sites says you can not use the 24pin type 4 slived cable with the HXi models, but here it works 😅
This is a beautiful case. When i first saw this case i fall in love immediately
I need to see a 4090 in this. Gonna buy this case and put my 4090, wish me luck 🤞
it looks like the airflow is amazing literally
Can’t imagine having a red case. I mean I love the design but imagine wanting to have any other color rgb in case and it would just look off. The white and black though… a real masterpiece of a case.
That needed the EVGA CLX 360 cpu rad in , looks slick.
I like how you communicate your ideas and explain things, yet I must mention that the orientation on the radiator is not optimal for the waterpump.
This is definitely my dream case for my dream build!!
That's a really cool fish tank... I mean PC case
I got this case when it first came out.. no complaints!
im gonna copy this builld
I was not a pc man. But I learnt from your video. I assamble my own gaming PC. Actually in my place PC is not a precious thing. But I love PC so I learnt it.
I have the case, and i love everything about it except the power button... such a nice case, able to show off so much... but they only gave it a solid white led power button xD.. seems pretty weak considering the thought in the rest of the case.
I got it in a pre built and its just nice, and anyone wondering how strong the panels are... I have a suction mount for my phone and can yeet the phone around without any play from the glass panel(s)
That cable set though!!! In love.
this case has a fish tank look , love it can do a nice WC build in there
Congratulations you have joined the Linux Tech Tips of dropping PC Components in this case Computer Case Side Glass Panel.
i do have this case with a 2x120mm AIO in the same position blowing air out with 3x120mm fans going out the top and swapped the bottom fans for 2 BioniX F140 fans. runs pretty quiet! dont often hear the fans at all! though this case has been mentioned to be more optimized for water cooling/custom loops, it seems to work fairly well with an AIO too. my future build for this pc would either include a full custom loop or a 3x120mm AIO on top for the cpu and a gpu with a built in 2x120mm AIO for the side, but again the airflow for this case seems to give quite a bit of flexibility
great vid tho! glad you didnt break the tempered glass all over your desk 😱
🎉you did it! I watch this and enjoyed it all. Very PC Centric indeed. I am now a fan. Thanks
I ordered this case before i saw this vid, for the new build I am doing. Very excited about it showing up. I got the white one.
All the way from South Texas I send you greetings keep up the videos! Saludos amigo.
I want this case, I'm a little nervous with all of the cables but I think I can do it, thank you for the video
I had no idea James Acaster builds PCs. Love your channel and you have a new sub sir!
That case truly a ZRagon theme color. Black & red ftw!
it literally is just the lian li o11d mini with a curved side
Having USB ports on the bottom of the case instead of all the way at the top like most cases is the best as well.
the volume of air coming into the case is equal to the volume of air exiting the case, then a perfect balance has been achieved, with that said the case only matters as long as you can pull out the hot and cold air equally. The way everyone is installing their fans create a vortex Recyling the hot air with the cold but over time will not cool. Like said before you need direct airflow hot out cold in. Sometimes too much ventilation causes this to rely completely on the fans rather than science of airflow.
I think you put the cooler up side down
Sheesh, this case looks awesome, take care! hugs from brazil!
One small thing about the video: Lian Li did all the air-flow stuff, in the lancool II mesh, that you said was something new done by this case. I definitely have a fan mounted on the bottom of my case (there are 2 spots made for a fan on) blowing directly at my GPU's fans/air intakes (you did say later on that this case seems Lian Li inspired which makes sense)
Otherwise, it looks dope. I think it's just not my style
It looks like an aquarium.
Wow, great build video. I'm going to follow your build and make me my own RED "Fish tank" computer gaming system. With Starfield coming out soon, how do you think this build will hold up? Starfield being a promoted AMD game.
Can’t wait to do my next gen build in this case…. I REALLY want them to bring out a pink version of this case though!!! 💗💗💗
"Cus you guys will literally not shut up about this chassis" 💀😂😂 I cracked up
I love that case!! Would love the red in a midnight blue though :)
when he said passed the drop test awkwardly 🤣🤣
Heck with that case by roll of duct tape plug up all the vent holes with the tape fill it up with water and put your favorite fish in it
Red looks the best
Love the build but please turn the radiator around so the pump is below the highest point of the loop.
I find it incredible that such an expensive case can have such low quality paint
That PC chassis looks like my family's aquarium in the living room.
The direction of case cooling is partial to the case ventilation design, but mainly dictated by how the user installs fan flow.
Love the energy on these videos.. have been binging
Did you install the radiator like that to help hide the cords? Would that leave the potential for air to get into the cords on the plate side of the cooling system since it is the higher point?
this fan at 17:03 is so disturbing 🤧
That's one of the nicest pcs I have ever seem that would be awesome to own that thing
This guy is awaking my OCD, I'm jumping from my chair and trying to catch all those things that flying all around that motherboard
