      Hey Spite, while you're trying out the Diavel, try tyre pressures at 40R and 38F. I've had my own Diavel (pictured) for nearly 8 years now. Been chased by a couple of Panigales who kept up with me but couldn't pass, they were amazed at how well the Diavel can perform. At those tyre pressures the bike is very nimble and can be thrown around like a sport bike in the twisties. Try it, I hope you'll like it.

    I considered one about a year ago.
    There was only ONE rear tire option (in the factory size). That gave you about 2000-2500 miles and cost $350 before any extra fees.
    Also the Desmo service was quoted to me by multiple Ducati shops at $1800-$2200. Yes you can do it yourself (I believe the tools needed are about $140 and the parts are ~$180) it takes 2 hours, apparently, if you know what you're doing (which I do not).

    • @Whatever-2u
      @Whatever-2u 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @loganurquhart11 it all depends on the use. For me, it's perfect because I love cruiser bikes (Indian Chief Bobber, HD Dyna Street Bob, etc), but I also like going fast. Rocket 3 is a great bike, but it's very heavy. V-Max sucks in the corners. Diavel is the one bike that is a perfect combo between the comfort of a cruiser and the speed and agility of a sports bike. I enjoy it on a motorway. I can do hundreds of kilometres with nothing but a fuel stop. I enjoy it in a twisties cause it's light and nimble despite that 245 rear tire.

    It's not a cruiser... it's a Performance Cruiser, which was huge back in the early 2000's when everyone was trying to get into the niche with the Harley VROD, Honda VTX 1800 and VMAX, the Yamaha Warrior, the Kawasaki Mean Streak, Suzuki M109R, and yes, the Diavel. We have a Mean Streak over on our chan we ride regularly and LOVE IT. Actually, it was the first bike I ever bought with my own hard earned cash when it launched in 2002.

    Seeing as it's a Lower 48 Continental USA only competition, it seems my C-109R will remain the only bike in my garage for a while yet. That's ok though, cause sometimes it's tough enough keeping my licence on it, let alone something smaller, lighter, and with a bit more power. All the best with Fanathem though Spite. I hope they achieve what you hope for to push your channel to the next level. 🤘

  • @luddite6239
    @luddite6239 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Always liked the look of the Diavel - there are some nice design touches there such as the pop-up grab rail and flip out pillion footrests. (Not that you're likely to find many people brave enough to be a passenger though!) Also, one of the reasons that it handles corners so well is down to a clever tweaks to the steering geometry. Although the forks are kicked out like a cruiser, the yokes they pass through are actually slash-cut to quicken the steering. It's not something you'd notice if you didn't know it was there, but have a close look at the yokes and you'll see what I mean.

    • @spitescorner

      I think the bags for my hyperstrada were $800ish for two side bags and a top box. Each big enough for a helmet. They were heavy duty plastic with cloth lining so not the best in the business but for 3 it wasn't bad.

    I had one for two years. I bought it when it had 13 000 km and i sold it at 39 000 km. Yes when it works it is the best motorcycle in terms of handling, power and charisma. And yes the motor is reliable...but all around it IS NOT :)) It has so much electronics that constantly fail, that i surrendered, i couldn't spend all the time and money to fixe it :)

    I almost bought A Diavel, so unique and different. I like Lambos also. I bought a monster 1200 instead. I also have owned 2 Super Dukes. The Super Duke engine nicer character over the Monster. I love the new Diavel v4 with the 4 Pipe stinger. I bought a MV AGusta 800rr dragster just for the unique triple pipe. Loved the headlight on the KTM. I guess I love uniqueness. Love looking at the bike as much as riding
