    I bought a used 2015 Diavel Carbon a couple years ago after test riding one back in 2015, I love every second I'm on it! New key FOB is $200, to replace the entire hands free unit is about $2,000, according to my local Ducati dealership. Herspurs is off: sport = 162 high, tour = 162 low, urban = 100. The Desmo service is done every 18k miles, plenty of time to save up the $2k-$3k for this. And you go Ducati for the sound, the feel, the shake and rumble of the L twin!

    My only problem with it, which is enough for me to want to trade it in, is the heat it produces at the upper right knee area. If you are stuck in traffic, that heat can be overbearing.

      There is nothing particularly exotic about the servicing. It’s a valve clearance check that takes longer. You pay for a couple of extra workshop hours.

    Not sure how you ride it without the key. On my diavel I need the key to start it. I can keep the key in my pocket so it’s no big deal.

    • @emadreviews
      @emadreviews  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can put the 4 digit code in and it starts up! It will however tell you the key is missing, but if you can deal with the notification on the dash, you can ride without a key on you (except when you need to get gas!)

    How to taiming for ducati diavel

  • @vegassasin
    @vegassasin 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Owned one for about 3 years. got stolen. Very desirable machine, rediculously muscular in person, raw throaty sound like an angry lion. Handles exceptionally for its specs, and very comfortable with performance touring seat. Key fob went through the washing machine and fried it, quoted about $2k AUS to replace full handsfree system. Dealer wasnt interested really.
    If you buy one make sure it has the red key so new replacement fob can be reprogrammed. (if you lose original).
    werkes exhaust is best sound. Windscreen ruins the look and after a while i took off anyways, back to naked. Keyless fuelcap is great idea never take key out of pocket. Source dealer or decent mechanic near you before buying.
    Gen 1 headlight is fkn terrible - extremely dim at night and quite ugly.
    Get base model dont pay extra for "special models", theyre the same shit.
    I installed quick action throttle sleeve as i do with every bike ive owned. reduces fatigue, improves response. Was very much considering an aftermarket clutch slave cylinder as hydraulic clutch pull is heavy.. Fluid reservoir caps leak brake fluid, often replaced by owners.
    chain slaps underside of swingarm, many install nylon strip to prevent damage.
    tank range approx 230km max. (moderate speeds) I would always fuel up at 200km.
    These point reviews at the end are bullshit. Its an absolute weapon, the weight makes it extremely stable and holds the road beautifully.
    Had tuneboy cruise control was AMAZING.
    Coming from sportsbikes (mainly fireblades) i was blown away by how much i loved that thing.
    Will get another one day soon (gen 2).
    Dope factor is 10/10. Literally EVERYONE stares at it.
    There is nothing else like it.

    Rode the Diavel and it is a controversial bike. The Desmo service, seating position, lack of windshield is big cons; power, looks, the engine make it unique. The weight is not really an issue because it is low sitting. This is not a sport bike by no strech of imagination. Yes, it has a Vtwin and plenty of power and torque known for Vtwins, BUT the riding position is a huge detriment for any faster and highway riding. On top of it all, the desmo service is, for most, a deal breaker. It is well said, that most can buy a Ducati, but only few can maintain it. Depending where you are, the dealer network may not be great unless, and being Italian bike and a niche model, the tech experience may be an issue. IMO, it is one of the best looking bikes out there, but also the ones that are crossing classes that are not easily crossed. Sport and cruiser bikes are two opposite ends of the spectrum and righfully so. It was a bold attempt of Ducati to make something like this, but what I got from it when I rode it, it does not work for me. You either get a cruiser, or a sport bike. You don't combine the two. Cruisers don't go fast and and sport bikes have body positioning meant to take on rapid acceleration and braking. And then, there is Desmo service on every 15K, I think, that ranges from $2K or more depending what country you are in, in Canada I think is $4K. If one is a reasonable rider it means a huge expense annually to a dealer that is hardly found. Lost time riding, less cash in pocket and lower value for sale if trying to sell to to avoid doing it- which is what most people do to those blinded by it...and blinded they very well will be.

    Why this title??… no… that ducati diavel is really not … due to the age but most importantly the brand and the model it’s very expensive to maintain compared to a newer one. In uk atm the diavel 1260 from 2022 is somewhere around £12500 . No problem about maintaining or changing inner parts due to age. A bit of clickbait so I don’t like this…

    • @emadreviews
      @emadreviews  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This bike, used, in the US is roughly $5k. Less than half of the 1260. True though that it is more expensive to maintain but not $8k more expensive to maintain.
