My mom who was a nurse would always yell "WHAT COLOR IS IT?!?" 🤣 Because "Clear is allergies, so I was "in the clear" to go to school", Yellow is a virus so no saying "hello to anyone!", and Green in a sinus infection, so suck it up, here are some antibiotics". 🤷‍♀ She was pretty straight forward that one.

I am surprised that a Sinus infection or Upper Respiratory Infection were not mentioned. But these two are also possible reasons. People who get a nasty Sinus Infection, their nose will bleed and the sinus pressure is very intense. Dark brown. Mucus can be an indication of an upper respiratory infection.

Just to stop people panicking over black mucus, black mucus immediately after exploring an old loft or cellar could simply be lots of dust. If the mucus goes clear after one or two blows, it's not something to worry about.

What comes out of one nostril is so hard, it almost looks like wood - dark, bloody with super sticky snot on it (gross - sorry). It's so large, he literally has to pull it out of his nose at times. Our family dr took a sample of it, and he has an ENT appointment in a few weeks. Several rounds of antibiotics, and nothing has cleared it up. His eye is red on that side too, and eye specialist has no idea why. Covid triggered all of it, but we just want answers. Nothing we've tried has worked.

Eventually, I realized it was due to my liquid eyeliner I was using. If you do not feel ill then it's probably because of your eyeliner and there's probably no reason to worry but it's a good idea to go to the doctor just a double check. If it were because of a fungal infection thenYou would more than likely feel very sick. Also don't forget that you should be buying a new eye lighter every Month or so bebacteria can build up on your makeup. However if you have a powder that you really like you can crush it app and mix it with 91% alcohol and filled the container again and let it dry, that can preserve it as well as give you a way to fix any broken makeup powder. You can also keep your makeup in a plastic bag in the refrigerator and that will extend the life of your making up by about 2 or 3 months at least that's my experience anyway. If you do put it in the refrigerator it's important that you use a sealed bag like a zip lock bag because that will keep your liquids from drying out. Just make sure that you will let your makeup come to room temperature or put it in your pocket that way it gets warm before you use it because it'll be much easier to apply.

For relief, you can rinse your sinuses with sterile water and a small amount of non-ionized salt and baking soda. They sell saline specifically for sinus irrigation at the drug store or you can make it yourself.
After you see a doctor, you could even add a little bit of betadyne iodine to the rinse, or even put a drop on your pinkie finger then rub it around inside your nostrils. But ask your doctor fist because some people are allergic to iodine I think. Always consult your doctor before doing anything, obviously.

As someone with severe allergies to like, any airborne atom..
I need to be careful when I sneeze or blow my nose. Both can give me a very severe nosebleed in one nostril.
Now imagine sinus congestion mixed with a nosebleed.
My mucus changes in viscosity and taste when I'm sick versus when I'm not.
I rarely get sick. Nosebleeds however.. uhh my nose is constantly dry.
A lot of things give me nosebleeds. Smelling a bunch of people's perfume at once can sting my nosehairs and cause nosebleeds
Cold temperatures can freeze my nose and make it dry and being stressed.
I do use a humidifier. I'm concerned why my nose is like this.
My nose can run or bleed when I eat food.
Hot or cold it doesn't matter. Direct contact of food to my mouth makes my nose run.
Long story short I can't breathe in other's scents, or not have a moment where my nose is not running from allergies.
Last week was so dry that my nose bleed 7 times. Twice in a day one time.
Can't go a week without a nosebleed nowadays.
