    The retainer seal you had difficulty with we were able to get on fairly easily using outside snap ring pliers. We also placed the governor in a block of wood with a hole cut into it that we clamped down to hold the part in place while we worked on it.

    I see you've rebuild your pump too. I'm of the same mindset: I'd rather take the chance and try to fix it myself than pay huge money for someone else to take a crack at it. Worst case scenario, I mess it up but those mistakes are still cheaper than just forking over big wads of cash.

    Great video, thanks for posting it! I’ve watched a few of these, and another builder warned not to press the head in too far into the body when you’re assembling it. He said you’d pinch the head seal 90% of the time, which might be what happened to you.

    You can get the timing 180 off, but the timing lines in the window are to set your timing advance. The mounti g holes are slotted to facilitate a few degrees of advance and tdc offset

    I know you already know by now but as long as your pump shaft dot lines up with your dot inside of pump behind the brass bushing you should be in time.

    • @dieseJL
      @dieseJL  ปีที่แล้ว

      No ours doesn’t leak like that. You’re probably messing up the umbrella seals or you didn’t replace the bushing. Did you watch the video where we got the dozer running and installed the pump? I covered a little of it on there. Pretty simple just gotta get the seals on that driveshaft right!!

    Hey, how does the shutoff work on that injection pump? It doesn’t seem to have the internal solenoid found in the DB2 pumps on 6.2/6.5 and 6.9/7.3 diesels. Is it a mechanical shutoff?

    • @dieseJL
      @dieseJL  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It has a manual cable shutoff that pulls the metering valve back via the cam/lever

    Why did you not show how the clip is attached to the throttle shaft and the o ring replacement? Mine is leaking and I am not sure how that clip is attached. Especially when trying to replace that seal while the pump is still connected to the motor

    • @dieseJL
      @dieseJL  ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s really not hard, it’s kind of like an external snap ring. You just either grab it with pliers and pull up or push the long side off with a little pry bar
