    A while back I had an oliver pulling tractor and I pulled it in a class that had to run a roosamaster pump. Im a machinist and I made a new rotor to go in the pump out of brass and put .550" plungers in it. I used brass because these are known to seize up when pushing them hard. It ran but still ended up seizing up. It was fun a little while.

    Thanks for sharing the video Bill. I'd never seen the pumps taken apart. Thanks for explaining. My 3155 was getting that way before I traded it off. I like the weed eater trick. I hate scraping. Hope y'all have a great weekend.

    Hey Bill. I used to have a lot of problems with my gas powered lawn equipment until my mower repair shop advised me to only use pure gas (no ethanol). I also started mixing 1 oz per gal of seafoam motor treatment in the fuel can when I fill it at the station. I switched to Walmart's Supertech fuel treatment when I discovered it because it is less expensive and I am sure it is the same thing and prolly even made by Seafoam for Walmart. Since I began those two things I have never had another problem with my equipment starting or running. I am thinking about putting the fuel treatment in my old '93 GMC truck too as it's sposed to be good for auto engines too. BTW, interesting video and entertaining too with your humor. Are you self-taught about fuel injection systems? Based on your pulling tractors I know you know your stuff. Have a good one!

      The 2640 was a GREAT tractor. They always loped a little at idle. I kinda liked it. If you change injection pump timing to stop that youre losing horsepower.

    Bill great video on the injection pumps two ? What was the tractor with the cage on it sitting in the weeds behind the 4030 . I used to pull a 4620 in the 10,5 class in 6th gear coming out about 4500 rpm the pump was built 350 cc of fuel the pump would lockup shear the shaft off was them rollers on them plungers what locking up my pump guy never told or can’t remember this was early/ middle 90’s

      @so.md.dirtfarmer2226  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey thanks for asking, if you have no experience with working on one of these pumps, it will be difficult to disassemble, clean, and reassemble with the proper rebuild kit. Not saying you can't do it, just saying be careful to get all the parts in the right position, keep them super clean and lubed when assembling.If you put it together the way it came apart you don't need to adjust anything. I still wouldn't recommend trying it.

    Do you know why the cam ring in john deere roosamaster has double ramps on it. We built a pump for my sons 4010 but we used a cam ring without the double ramps. Always wondered why they are like that.

    • @so.md.dirtfarmer2226

    By turning that screw what % more do you think you are gaining in fuel!?

    • @so.md.dirtfarmer2226
      @so.md.dirtfarmer2226  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It varies from pump to pump but l would say a range of 10-15% on the low side. Some pumps with larger "plungers"in would be higher.

      @@bryanginder5903 Bryan, you probably know this but l'll just make sure, you don't need to disassemble the pump that much to get access to that screw, you can do the job with just removing the cap, linkage, and the long bolt that holds the spring. Rotate the pump 'til the screw lines up with the access hole. Like l said, you probably already knew that, you're a smart guy, you watch my channel.😄

    • @so.md.dirtfarmer2226
      @so.md.dirtfarmer2226  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey Joey! Try advancing the timing, just loosen the bolts that hold the pump to the engine and rotate the top of the pump towards you, that should help some. 5020s really need a turbo to be real peppy.

    Back in the day I had a customer that had a diesel station wagon. GM'S sorry attempt at a consumer diesel engine. He said at idle it would rev up and slow down and run all crazy. Nobody could fix it. Told him it was a temporary fix and showed him how to remove the return line check valve. He said that car didn't run that good when it was new.

      2 stroke oil, or some companies like AMSoil make good additives.

      Here's a link you could buy it through our independent Amsoil dealership: gesynthetics.myamsoil.com/. The ones we would recommend are ADFPCN-EA for use in heavy equipment for lubrication and cleaning and ADBPCN-EA for use in trucks.
