- We're back!! We put @unitronic's Catback, and downpipe on our 20th Anniversary MK8 Golf R and hit the dyno to see what it made on the current Stage 1+ software, as well as Flashing the the Stage 2 Software without the TCU file just to see what would happen and show you guys with the 401 mech unit where this platform currently stands!

I think I got really lucky. My early 2022 model came with an unlocked tcu and it is absuredly fast for a 4 cylinder.
Def lucky to have a 301!
Stock software car has torque limiter for protect the trans on every audi. Even on stage 1+ low torque for stock tcu sometimes brake the torque limiter and the car bug Down most time in 2nd gear.
Yuppp, thats why they have the GBx files!

372hp/387tq was our previous stage 1+ max without downpipe and catback!
There any word on when BL401 support is coming? Bought a stage 1 tune from yall at the beginning of the year and I've been trying real hard to say it wasn't a waste of money

Does the golf 8 R 20 years has a different TCU than the previous "normal" golf 8 R?
MK8 Rs all (besides the very 1st off the line) are 401 bootloaders and are still locked :(
Is there any way to get a DIY for removing and installing the subframe to get the downpipe?

Our GTI is a manual, definitely fun and with the right clutch you’ll be fine!
390hp on crank or wheels?
All numbers provided on all of our vehicles are wheel numbers. :D

@@BMPTuning jebus that's juicy. I assume this car has the Uni intercooler or you couldn't even really consider it fully S1+ right?
The car currently has the intercooler, intake, dogbone, downpipe, & catback from Unitronic!

I also drive Golf 8R with stage 1+ ECU (plus TCU- 2021 car😊) from racingline, my mods are pretty similiar so r600 intake, inlet pipe, intercooler, dogbone insert, catback. Car made 454hp at the crank but it was pretty slipping on the dyno so we assume 440hp is realistic number. Torque is capped around by 520Nm so its flat from 3 to 6k rpm. At the low range it feels stock, in the mid range it pulls just better then stock and brings a little smile on Your face but after 5k rpm it pulls like a balistic missle. Friend of minę driving a45s amg was frightened by high end pull of the golf and now he thinks about flashing his car.
I’ve been running my S3 8Y with unitronic stage 2 with no dsg tune (401 bootloader) for a couple of months now and haven’t had issues, granted I haven’t really gotten on it since. But would be nice for it to be unlocked finally 🥲🫠
It seems that the car knows that it shouldn't make all the torque the tune is capable of and limits it quite a bit!
