What would make more sense is to have front facing stereo speakers with microphones on both sides as well as on screen buttons so you can truly use the phone in any orientation you want. Maybe have the camera on the middle backside of the phone? OMG samsung should hire me. OT: I think the edge display would be better implemented if it didn't run into the main display. What I mean is if the edge was a separate display on the actual side of the phone, I'd see some usefulness to this.
***** You can actually go into the settings and change the orientation 180 deg. So left handed people can use it as well. I'm left handed, but I use it on the right. It doesn't bother me much.
I am very practical tech curious and like to play with electronics and software programing. My first smart phone was apple iPhone 4s. Since last 3 years I had been using Samsung Galaxy S3. I liked its personality and very useful and power packed features with the addition of new supporting android apps. I now have Galaxy Note Edge. I like this device very much and using it to the best of my needs. I cannot imagine how difficult life would be without it. My next phone will also be a Samsung. Just love it...
I love my Note Edge but the one thing that bothers me is the notifications creeping in while I'm typing or trying to use the edge screens other functions. This causes me to switch to the application that the notification came in for and is rather annoying. I had to make my SwiftKey keyboard smaller so the letters on the right are not covered when a notification comes in. Honestly I really want to just be able to choose notifications to come back in on the top bar so I can read them without turning my head and not accidentally tap on it. What I really think would be nice is to see all these status icons on the top be on the edge screen instead. Why not? Free up the top of the screen that way. Still love my Edge! Can't wait to see how it evolves.
Love the objectivity with Michael. Most brush it off as gimmicky nonsense and not useful enough without truly using it to its full potential, or even using it at all. Wish I could deal with that massive screen size so I can get a hold of it, but gs5 is probably as comfortable a size I can handle
It reminds me allot of the glovebox app on the play store which also gives you quick access to apps without taking up home screen space but the shuttle curve on the screen on the note edge helps make it More comfortable
Too edit your favorites edge bar (the main one) just hit the star at the top of it. You don't have to go all the way into settings for this. You can also easily create folders on this bar and have quick access to a great number of your favorite apps.
It if had on screen buttons the entire lefties thing would be completely fixed. It doesnt matter if you can flip the screen. The buttons will be on top. I know its samsung and the capacitive + physical buttons are their trademark but in this particular case it would have been smarter to use the conventional on screen buttons

The buttons on the top... they just look terrible even if you can get around the usability problem with the little dock. Still love the phone though. Finally something interesting from samsung

A phone that big I always use my left hand to hold and right to use so doubt it'll be a distraction or a nuisance. Same goes the s pen, left to hold, right to use.
Wow the edge feature is awesome. With the edge though are there still protective cases you can buy? I'd imagine it'd be a Lil more difficult to have a case, especially now that they're coming out with a double edged phone
Andrew Purvis i see no one answered your question, well.. let's go. It's VERY hard to find covers for the Note Edge due to it being a niche product, there's already a lot of covers for the S6 Edge. Samsung made covers for it themselves, otherwise i suggest you check out "Spigen" i am currently using one of their covers for my S6 Edge.
***** theres 100's of different types, styles, color, materials, plastic, leather, rubber, aluminium. I have a leather case for my note edge and its just perfectly protected.
It really is cumbersome to look at the edge with notification and tools everytime you are watching a movie. I just wish they just thrash this idea. Curve display is better in a horizontal view not vertical

I use an app called the Sidebar on my note 3. It's like using this phone feature, I have all my favorite apps there. When I saw the note edge was like, that's what I want... But for now I'll keep my note 3...
They should create a curve screen pertinent to the curve screen television. Because bending it backwards makes the picture incomplete and there is a tendency for your eyes to gaze at the back edge part.
Get rid of the physical home button add dual speakers on each end of the phone and the you should be able to flip the phone at will without messing up orientation to much.
One thing that I have run into is the notification reads upside down when it comes in in right hand mode. So if I have it edg facing towards me on a table it's akward to read. It does work if you put it on 180 flip it over then place the phone towards you it will be more legible. I hope they can fix it while not that hard of I fix, I shouldn't have to do that.
Can the home screen rotate to landscape mode? I spent a few minutes looking at one at a Best Buy, and certain settings menus, camera, etc., can rotate to landscape mode, but when you're on one of the home screens and rotate the device, the display doesn't rotate; it just stays in portrait.

Samsung probably isn't going to release it in Europe. If this excites you then wait till the edge 2 when everything will be improved and it won't be limited edition.
Well, I'm in UK and have a UK's version of Note Edge. And I know for sure that other European countries also have Note Edge because have seen them for sale on eBay before I bought mine.

You can also make that clock pop-up with a swipe up and down on the edge

Love my Edge and all it can do. I hope in an update they let us be able to see the clock for more then 12 hours tho.

rotate your phone clockwise si edge is on the bottom. it will flip your edge screen.
