    I stayed with my current tire dimensions as possible I went from 265/70/16 to 265/65/17 new rims and tires set so a bit change in weight but Speedometer speed stays the same.

    265/75 R16 on my 2003 Tacoma with a 2" lift. Yes they rub sometimes, but they have just barely enough clearance to prevent properly mounted snow chains from beating up the upper ball joints.

      I just purchased a 2023 Taco SR5 4x4 v6. I installed Bilstein 5100 all around at a Tacoma shop, ( guy does amazing work on Tacos but mine was simple), the front is a 2 inch lift and the rear a 1 inch block. Currently I’m still on the 245/75R/16 tires and looking to upgrade to Destination at2 tires 265/75R/16 staying with original rims. Definitely not questioning your comment but you are the first person that said 265/75R/16 rub, and definitely glad you did. Supposedly that size is the biggest you can fit on a stock suspension and the guy at the shop said it is the biggest I should go with my lift. What brand of tires did you put on? Looking for help on this subject.

    275 converted is 32.1 inches so 33.2 inches is do able with oem rims for the 16 and up. But come full circle you have to ask yourself depending what you are doing with your vehicle to get the correct fitment for that specific ride. over landing or rock climbing have so much to adjust. It be the best bet to communicate with a off road tire rim shop to get the best fitment ideas instead of randomly clicking every how to youtube video.

    Be careful when lifting. The stock offset usually won’t clear the front A-arm because the offset is too positive. The more you lift your truck the more negative offset you will need to clear suspension components.

    Domino effect...bigger tires...lift kit...body modification to stop rub...suspension modification so it drives correctly...reduced gas mileage...now your overpriced $2000 tires just cost you another $10,000 and your truck drives like crap at highway speeds. The worst part is that over the year that it took you to get this sorted out, you wore out your $2000 mud tires that had a UTQG of 300 and need to get another set. Been there, done that. It's expensive to ruin a truck you love. I have always said, a truck comes with a certain size tire for a reason. Want to make a great video...explain tire UTQG and metric sizing for the masses. You could save people a lot of money.

  • @LincolnMaxnCo
    @LincolnMaxnCo 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    One thing I will strongly suggest thinking about before getting a much bigger tire size ...
    GEAR RATIO will be affected, If one goes with bigger tires,
    the truck will feel even slower than it does from factory 😐🙄
    I know that is a concern for many that have purchase 3rd gen Tacomas
    I had a 3rd gen and could not imagine driving it w/ bigger tires, w/out replacing the gears.

  • @tacocruiser4238
    @tacocruiser4238 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I would also check the weight of the new tires. Additional unsprung weight WILL decrease your vehicle's horsepower and torque specs. If the new tires are significantly heavier than the stock tires, you can easily shave off 5-10% of your truck's horsepower & torque. It wont be the same vehicle anymore. BE CAREFUL.

    • @OfficialAing
      @OfficialAing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea.....so about that. Truck has taken a big loss in power lol

    • @tacocruiser4238
      @tacocruiser4238 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@OfficialAing my comment was actually somewhat incorrect. The additional weight will affect your mpg but not so much the power. It's the circumference of the tires that really matters. It basically reduces your gear ratio. The only way to fix this is to regear your truck.

    You want bigger tires and want to do it properly. Here’s how to do it.
    1.) Shocks and coilovers, grab yourself three inches preferably icon, king, or fox. If your in a budget, bilstien.
    2.) upper control arms, lifting will weaken stock arms also will allow you to adjust your wheel placement a bit. And improve ride.
    3.) new leaf springs. don’t spend a bunch of money on the front just for the back to ride like crapola. Don’t skip leg day, I recommend deaver leaf springs, and no, I wouldent recommend an add a leaf.
    4.) wheel offset, your wheel needs to be the proper offset for your tire. There’s some great videos that talk about what it is exactly because it’s too much to type, but get the proper wheel offset. If you don’t you’ll need wheel spacers, and that’s something you realistically do not want.
    5.) BONUS if you want 35s,
    -trim your fenders
    -cut the cab mount (cab mount chop, or relocation)
    - cut the plastic fender liner, if you trim your fenders you’ll lose them anyway.
    And boom you now can properly fit the tire of your dreams. 37s are a lot of work that I’d recommend you don’t do unless you seriously need them although it would be sick. 35s get all the nasty work you’ll need them to do. But if you don’t plan on actually wheeling, then a 35 isent needed, 33s or 34s will be fine. Personally I’m in 34s and I’ve done some extremely rough trails. I’ll be upping to 35s just to make it a bit easier. Think about what you want to do with the truck and go from there.
