    This is a very old video, but now it's 2019 and to be honest with you, I don't think these bikes have been upgraded. I bought my 2011 GSXR in 2012. Here is ultimately how I chose my bike, and my thought process.
    1) Looks, this is subjective, and what made it difficult for me was although they all looked different, they were equally good looking. Now as far as looks from the cockpit, the top of the forks for Kawasaki and Suzuki looked nice, and didn't have the big bolts like Honda and Yamaha did.
    2) Performance, from reading reviews, bottom end Honda, midrange Suzuki and Kawasaki, Top end Yamaha. I view top end more important for a track bike, I was looking for mid range, being a street rider. So Kawasaki and Suzuki got the nod.
    3) Ergonomics, which is important for street riders. Suzuki had the adjustable foot pegs, and thicker seat. Yamaha had thinnest seat, and the fairings kicked up heat to the rider. The Kawasaki and Honda were in the middle.
    4) Price, Honda was cheapest, followed by Kawasaki. Suzuki was way more expensive than the other three.
    After all this, I was sold on the Kawasaki Ninja. When I went to the dealer, who sold all four makes, I saw that the GSXR was marked down $1000. It was March of 2012, and Suzuki was tying to get rid of the 2011 models. The only difference between 11 & 12 was different paint scheme. It was a no brainer with that discount. I would have taken the Yamaha if I was a track rider.

    The Gixxer wins in comfort and smoothness. The only ugly thing on it is the headlight; It has to grow on you.

    Dunno if I've been going too fast lately and scrambled my brains but, watching these guys is like watching the cousins of famous people. There's rod Stewarts cousin, tiger woods cousin, Matt Parkers cousin and I just can't place the other guy 😂😂😂😂

  • @CycleCruza
    @CycleCruza 12 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The gixxer has 3 power levels. The lowest switch will reduce the power of the bike nicely for beginners and the bike a gear display.

    I'm picking up a 2012 GSXR600 next week. MSRP was $11,600 in 2012. I'm getting it for $6500, mint condition, with an M4 exhaust and only 3,200 miles. I'm crazy excited. Just gotta sell my FZ-07 now.

    • @ndperson1
      @ndperson1 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      how do you like it. i like the gxsr and am considering it, but worry I might find the top end weak (I really tend to enjoy bikes that wind out hard)

      I really love it. I hear you about the top end, but honestly, I don't ride at top end anyway. It gets up to 120mpg really goddamned fast, and that's good enough for me. I plan to do a -1/+2 520 conversion on it too, which will bring the top speed down more.

      I’m thinking of going from a GSX-S750 to a GSX-R. Not a big fan of the naked after about 5,000 miles. Everyone pushes the naked as being more comfortable but I’m tucking at highway speeds 80% of the time so a sport bike with clip ons makes more sense to me.

  • @adamant7146

    so what they're saying is the gsxr is the winner but they're to cheap to buy it...

  • @CycleCruza
    @CycleCruza 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    They are crazy , the suzuki is thee worst looking bike of them all. For the street the CBR600rr wins, for the track the yami wins.

  • @Jjb43
    @Jjb43 12 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Honestly for average to a little above average riders it comes down to which design you like better. If you're using it for just street use the differences are so minuscule you won't even be able to tell the difference. R6! Best looking in my eyes (why I own a 2011 raven lol)

    @Jesperrescue 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I ride gsx-r 750 (k8 however) but yeah. GSXR are special bikes, everyone should try one and get amazed for their user-friendlyness, the majority of riders on the street can't not get near the limits of a 600cc RR bike, so why not choose what's most comfortable and what you seem to fell in love with? (as long as the economy is fair)

    • @RidingNomad
      @RidingNomad 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      no because I like it too, nobody hate the R6 , and if you think the R6 bad bike tell me why Yamaha team always win in the 600cc class

    • @dmr3e
      @dmr3e 10 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Lol they def don't always win and at that level it's not the bike but the rider that matters. I've seen riders with higher CCs lose to 600s because they are good riders. Now throw that in the same class and it becomes more apparent. Understand?

    There's no such thing as "common sense and judgement" on a supersport bike. One mistake and you can 12 o'clock it in an instant and your life can be gone. Don't be an idiot and listen to all of the other idiots who think that racing bikes are good for beginners. Start on something like a Ninja 300 and ride it for a few years first; you'll be glad you did.
    Also, just a tip, wear your damn gear. Trust me, it's more fun to sweat than it is to bleed.

    America please please develop a superbike not a buell that was easily embarrassed by a sport touring bike of half the displacement..if usa or Canada makes a competitive superbike it would change the scene cmon ? japans just that much superior? American muscle ...now we need amewrican superbike..the following would be fiercely loyal and competitive...if I had the financial backing id bet my life I could put usa on the top of the charts as far as north American superbike purchases go..hint hint

  • @xGhost09
    @xGhost09 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Get what you will love to ride. All these bikes are so close in performance, it really doesn't matter. People who say that kawasaki's are better than Hondas or however its put are just fan boys. Performance on these machines is almost completely dependent on the rider. With that said, get what you will love to ride, the one that when you see it you just smile. comfort should be taken into consideration however. The R6 is a tall boy. I'm about 5 foot 9 and I cant get flat footed. Still love it

  • @FFJNVT

    I'm going to apologize in advance for this common question. Although it's common my situation is different. I'm wondering if the CBR600, GSXR600, ZX6R, Daytona 675, and R6 are created equal or is there one bike better than the other for my first bike. I'm 6'2 220lbs and 26 years old. My show boat days are behind me. I'm mature enough to start with a 600. Any recommendations to what bike has the least twitchest throttle, and which one is better to start with?
    Cheers

  • @sford01
    @sford01 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    Motorcycle, I have a question. I really like the CBR 600RR more so than the others and want to purchase a used model. My question is which year out of the current generation model that debuted in '07 would you recommend? And...do you think a premium full race exhaust (Leo Vince, Arrow) and PowerCommander would more than help it make up for its slight lack of top end power? Any reply from someone that has experience with the '07+ 600RR would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  • @ernest1337wong
    @ernest1337wong 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @ssonera88 i think you gotta take into consideration more than just the bike, back in my place, Kawi is the only who has a factory here, parts and services are easier to get. For Yamaha, Honda and Suzuki, they're all imports, parts and service here is possible but it is a bit harder to get and heck a lot more expensive. And the last part of the vid is damn true, with the fact Kawi is cheaper, that money can get you a lot of things.

  • @89powerup
    @89powerup 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @iH8MomJokes casue suzuki is really not a powerful bike lol. They look for mad hp even in a 600cc machine. Suzuki does have the best brakes out the bunch though for sure. It's way more forgiving than the other bikes. I mean you would really need to know how to ride the other three whereas with the suzuki, you can make a mistake and it wont cost you much. Which is why its easy for it to win on the track which makes it seem likes its more powerful but its not lol. Its for first riders really lol.

  • @nafism6969
    @nafism6969 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    well some ppl dont belive in a "beginner bike". im getting my license soon and want my first bike to be a CBR600R.
    iv been told by some that it really isnt such a big deal for a newbie to use a powerful bike as long as they use a bit of common sense and judgement.
    if you dont have them then i guess u should use a so called "beginner bike"

  • @jcraff3
    @jcraff3 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    even if price isnt an issue why spend the more money on something that isnt as good or could be comparable with a cheaper setup and more bad ass engine? i could trick my bike out in the same summer w an extra 1.5-2 g's..real riders dont brag about money spending and buy something just cuz it says its worth that price..

  • @hardworkingmlm
    @hardworkingmlm 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think the kawi is ugly personally. And if your spending 10k'ish on a bike then 1k more is petty.
    The last thing you want to do is buy the cheapest, becuase every time you ride you'll think about the one you really wanted, knowing you didn't wait a couple more months to save the full amount. especially when you've saved for so long.

  • @voodoo0299
    @voodoo0299 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    Zx6r has the most power and is very fast but they r all about the same. Just diffrnt looks..comes down to personal choice

  • @DarkDaze666
    @DarkDaze666 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Personally, I'd take the $2K and get the best helmet available, and a proper set of boots. My Alpinestars Supertech R boots have saved me from numerous broken/injured feet. But then at $500 you expect that. So I agree, money is a big issue, not all of us have mommy/daddy to rely on for our kit

  • @iH8MomJokes
    @iH8MomJokes 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    For those who argue about the two ugliest bikes of the 4, go to 6:40. The graphics, narrow front end and the mirrors are much nicer on the Suzuki, but the only flaw is the headlights... Even at 6:40, you can see that mean looking Honda looks like it's ready to kill the Kawasaki LOL!

  • @iH8MomJokes
    @iH8MomJokes 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    I find that Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki were always the most compared whether it's motocross or sports bike, whereas Suzuki seems like the loner in the corner that's always being ignored! Example, @ 6:31, the Suzuki just sticks out like a sore dick!! Am I the only one realizing this? Lol

  • @dukviper90
    @dukviper90 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @gixxerredliner2010 Umm, so you were paying attention? Money is a big issue when buying also. The suzuki is rediculously expensive for a 600 and makes you look at other bikes because of it. It's not comfortable enough for an extra grand or two over the others.

  • @TheInsane350
    @TheInsane350 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    yeah top gear style is more interesting to the general public.. but it lacks real information for the enthusiasts.. these guys don't crack too many jokes. but they talk about what you actually might want to buy lol. just my opinion.

  • @EuricDinkins
    @EuricDinkins 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    I remember when bikes were priced by CC's such as a new 600 ran about 6K a 750 ran 7500 and a new 1000 may go as high as 11K. Now a 600 cost almost as much as a Grand. Haggle people haggle.... Got my Gixxer for 11K new. Sticker price 13K

  • @buckwheat40
    @buckwheat40 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Next time please don't talk about price. A couple thousand bucks doesn't matter to us if we really like the way a bike looks or performs. Price will not stop me from buying a bike I really want and I know I speak for most of the guys watching this.

  • @buckwheat40
    @buckwheat40 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    I really want to like the Ninja but I just can't get past the ugly headlights and nose of it. They need to redesign the nose and headlights to make it look better. The new ZX 10R's nose and headlights look much better than it did

  • @Canaduh1978
    @Canaduh1978 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    I don't know where these guys are talking prices but here in Canadia the price of the cbr and the gixxers comfort made me buy suzuki this weekend. The new cbr was 700 more. While not pocket breaking, more is more.

  • @EuricDinkins
    @EuricDinkins 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    @buckwheat40 Shitting me! price is a factor. My GsxR 1000 was 13K new I talked the dealer down to 11K Out the door. saved 2 grand. why give them money that you don't have to. So your not speaking for us your speaking for you.

  • @YarekBalear

    @sford01 the 07 and 08 bikes have more power than the 09+ as mentioned in the video due to emissions bullshit, would a full exhaust put it up there with the other bikes??? i dont know, i`v never ridden the other bikes. to be honest the diff is prob minimal anyway and unless your a serious racer you prob not gonna benefit from the slightly more horses. to answer your question, get a low milage 08 bike :)

YEEES!!!!! that is exactly I was saying!!!!! the u.s. needs to make a super bike!!!! and I definatly don't mean buel, like come da fuck man thats not a superbike shiiiittt. all they make are cruisers wtffff I would totallllly buy it if they ever made a legit sport bike!!!! I think ford should make one. Or just another company. I don't mind if buell makes it but they need to make a REAL sport biike

    had 02 zx6r and a 07 zx6r. I think from 05-08 the zx6r looked the best. wit new plastics or color change the 2011 can look sexy. its not the prettiest of the bunch I agree. Im kawi loyal. looking at a 2011 with126 miles on it tomorrow for $7,800. its a steal. plus kawis are always cheaper to insure.

    thank you at least i'm not the only one that thinks the same thing about suzukis. They need to step it up.....their bikes look too damn power rangery. They have too much different style on the gsxr. They need to make it more simplier and agressive as fuck

    I rode them all now (except the triumph) and preferred the suzuki to ride and the r6 for looks. I agree about the honda, throttle modulation was a bit rubbish, hard to get a nice roll on or perhaps I wasn't used to it.

    Tnks for the review
    5 years later ...finally I got an impeccable 2012 gsxr600
    With only 220 miles (new) for $6000. Bucks. The 2017 gsxr 600 still the same and cost $11000. I'm happy :)
