  • Where we stayed: Hotel Hubert Grand Place
Things to do / see mentioned in this video:
Grand Place: It is the central square of Brussels and is surrounded by some pretty incredible architecture. Some of the buildings include the former Guilds of Brussels, which were the centre of economic life in the late medieval and early modern periods, as well as the Town Hall.
Manneken Pis: one of the most famous statues of Brussels and its only a 5 minute walk from Grand Place. It is basically a small bronze statue of a naked boy peeing into a fountain. The statue attracts many visitors and even dresses up for different occasions.
Royal Gallery of Saint Hubert: The perfect starting point for some coffee and breakfast before exploring Brussels. Only a short walk from the Grand Place, It lures visitors in with its high end shops and incredible window displays. One of the oldest shopping arcades in Europe it is arguably one of the most beautiful as well.
Parc de Bruxelles: just across from the Royal Palace you will find Brussels Park, which is the largest urban public park in the city. A nice place to have a break from all the buildings and hustle and bustle of the city. The park has some cafes just opposite the Palace, and they are great for relaxing.
The Giant wheel at Place Poelaert
Atomium: The Atomium has become the symbol Belgium and is probably one of the most popular things to do in Brussels. It was originally constructed in 1958 for the Brussels World Fair, and has become a tourist attraction ever since.
Eating and drinking: Belgium is perhaps one of the most underrated destinations in Europe. I say this because I’ve never heard people rave about Belgian cuisine only chocolate. I didn’t know much about local food or things to eat in Brussels other than the fact that Belgium is known for its chocolate and beer. But Brussels should be on your foodie’s bucket list.
Belgian Pralines- Praline is Belgium’s signature chocolate you must try in Brussels. In 1912, the son of a pharmacist, Jean Neuhaus, developed praline in Brussels. While it was initially invented as a way to cover up the bitterness of medicine, this development has changed the way people enjoy chocolate forever. Neuhaus Chocolates :They have been making the confection since 1857, and are credited with investing in the famous Belgian Praline (filled chocolate).
Belgian Waffle- come in two different varieties. Liege waffles are thicker and crispier. The dough contains sugar, which caramelizes when baked to give a sweeter taste and crunchier texture. Its shape is round with uneven edges, dont put toppings on liege waffles. On the other hand, Brussels waffles are fluffier and lighter. It has a definite rectangular shape.
