- Are you looking for the BEST guide to traveling in Brussels? Wondering where to find the hidden gems that others don't know about? Maybe you're looking to escape bad weather, or to beat the crowds. You'll find all that and more in this complete Brussels Travel Guide!
This video has four main sections. In the first, we cover the main and popular sights in Brussels - Grand Place, the peeing boy, the main foods Belgium is famous for, and more! The second section covers some of Brussels' more unique sites, include the Brussels peeing dog, a cemetery with an interesting past, and some quirky foods. Section 3 covers Mini Europe and the Atomium, and the last section covers Brussels' Train World (which genuinely surprised us!).

Well, dang it! I was totally DONE with my Brussels planning (will be there next week) and decided to watch this anyway, and now I have to fit even more into my trip. Hahahahaha. (Seriously, thanks for the tips!)
I want to say sorry, but... 😂 😂 We especially loved the quirkier side of Brussels!
Hilarious! While you were being distracted playing rock paper scissors, pickpockets were working the crowd gathered watching you.
Thanks for another great video!!
Great video.
Nice to see unusual places of Brussels.
Precision: The Royal Palace you visited is where the king works and where they have all official events of the kingdom of Belgium.
The Royal Family resides in another palace in Laeken, a Brussels area near the Atomium .
Brussels looks amazing!!!
Nice video. Well done for getting off the beaten track. As a Brussels resident there were a couple of things here that were new to me. Better (IMHO) than the comic museum is to download from the tourist office the walking tour of the comic murals across the city. PS the game you saw was pelota, a very local, unusual game - you were lucky to see it.
22:17 "Game Over" referring to video games is a rather brutal 1-page comics series.
23:22 This mural depicts Nero (on top) and other main characters of the comics series with the same name. He and his author Marc Sleen (RIP) have their own comics museum in Brussels.
There are 3 comics "schools" in Belgium. 2 are Franco-Belgian, one known as "Marcinelle", more offbeat with head figure Spirou, one more uptight, "Brussels", head figure Tintin. The 3rd one is Flemish, rather disconnected from the other 2. Head figures are Suske en Wiske (aka Bob & Bobette or Wanda & Willy).
This is very general information, check the internet for way more details.
super! thank you.
Oh wow, it's the Tales from our Pockets: the Movie!
I feel so seen. 😂 😂 😂
Excellent video. U know well Brussels now, I mean not especially for tourists. Greetings from Brussels🍀🍀🍀🇧🇪
Thanks! 😃
Hi 😊Fantastic video . Perfect Itinerary information of Brussels❗❗❗
Thank you🌹🌹💖💖
Thank you so much!! That means a lot to us. ❤️
We eat mussels with empty shells. Btw: we don't say the King and Queen of Belgium, but the King and Queen of the Belgians. Because they are not ruling over us, we are not their subjects, they represent us, that's why we say "of the Belgians ".
I love that distinction. Thank you so much for sharing that! 😊
I'm louis, it's my pleasure to meet you at Chishang this afternoon, your video is so great.
Thanks! It was very nice to meet you today!
Great vide, guys!! Love all your videos. Just a quick fact. The most famous Belgian comics are the Tintin comics which are extremely popular in our country.
We did finally manage to watch one with English subtitles and it was fun! I can see why it would be popular. 😊 (but for some reason only the smurfs made it to the USA!)
Let's Go Eat!!! 😋
6:53 NOT Fritland ! Every tourist ends up there. Apparently fries are good but prices are high for what you get.
8:01 Manneken Pis is a symbol for the authority defiant (and humorous) "Brusseleirs" (citizens of Brussels). There are 2 more peeing statues, a girls and a dog, to discover in Brussels.
11:49 "we ordered just one portion" The waiter must have thought you were Dutch. Yes, they'll allow less plates to be ordered than there are people seated (not counting children) but it gets you a cheapskate reputation. Take the small portion or order something else. It doesn't matter how long it takes to eat all that, this isn't the USA, they won't rush you out of the door.
The Hallepoort / Porte de Hal is not a castle but merely a city gate. Sometimes we see it big too.
"Kriek" (cherry) is a traditional beer brewed by local breweries spreading from south to west of Brussels.
Hai Am from India. Nice your vlogs & most beautiful topic I sey to you the waffle is nice & sweet but... There Belgium climate is always cold . The sweet food is perfect for a health???
Hello! Great video! Can I ask how much time you spent at Mini Europe and the Atomium? 😊
Hi, our best estimate is that together, they took us a half a day. Thanks!
Hey guys! Thank you for such a great video. We have just one simple question:
Can you tell us in which month did you made that video? We are planning going on may and the info we’ve found about weather can be confusing. Thaks a lot! Greatings from México🇲🇽
Hi! Thank you! We filmed this during July. It was pretty hot when we were there!
@@TalesFromOurPocket Thanks for responding me, guys! Very useful info. 💯
Belgian weather is ALWAYS confusing. Temperature can raise or go down with over 10° in 1 day. But don't let that stop you.
Belgians are used to eat fries with mayonaise. Real mayonaise I mean, not that disgusting orange stuff they called mayo in Chicago. But Americans don't seem to like it. Always ketchup. Or something else. But: NO mayo.
Mossels with ...cherry beer? And you survived it? 😅. It combines best (for me) with white beer like Hoegaarden or Brugs Tarwebier, or a Sauvignon Blanc wine (not that "world wine" Chardonnay). The mossels we like to eat with an empty shell instead of a fork.
I'm (Heather) allergic to Chardonnay! Sauv Blanc is the way. Bill really enjoyed the cherry beer - it's more unusual than what's usually available in the US. We should have eaten mussels with an empty shell! I feel like we missed out on that now. 😂 🥂
@@TalesFromOurPocket You didi't miss much by not using an empty shell: it's just more practical than a fork.
@@hugohuysmans9666 I use a fork to open the more closed mussels.
They looked like the same waffles
The Brussels waffle is supposed to be rectangular while the Liège waffle is supposed to be more rounded. The dough of the Brussels waffle is soft, the Liège waffle less so.
OMG his fingernails gave me the creeps
Guitar player fingernails mate.
