    Thanks for posting this. I’ll look around to see if there’s a better quality camera available yet before I poke around. Nissan should be embarrassed to send out that poor level of quality camera OEM.

      Any luck? I have the Phoenix unit with a better resolution display. Curious of any camera that are direct fit that improves this feature.

    Thanks for this video! I just changed out my camera. It was super easy. Your video definitely helped out!

    There’s an obvious noticeable difference but not sure it’s worth it. Nissan just needs to improve this feature like every other manufacturer in 2022. No wonder they are so behind the competition selling on 30k a year!

    Sorry dude. Does not look good enough to upgrade.

      It's not as high quality as I would have hoped. I will say that the low light performance is much better

    I thought the bush was gravel on the first camera. 2nd camera shows the bush more clearly

    Not sure that's worth the effort. You need a backup camera so you know if youre going to hit something - not to read paint can labels while backing up.

      Monetary investment aside, it is surprisingly very low effort to make this switch. The night time visibility has pretty substantially increased as well as some of the fine detail which is helpful for things like hooking up a trailer.
      Sure, people have backed vehicles for years without cameras at all, but clear images are appreciated

    I was told Nissan is still using an analog camera feed system. Just bought a 2023 Pro 4X, and as a camera nut. This drives me crazy

    I wonder if this works for other nissan models

    • @4KMotoring
      @4KMotoring  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nissan does tend to use the same parts across models, so there's a good chance. It would all depend on the bracket that is used to mount it. If you want to take the time to take your vehicle apart to verify that the camera looks similar, you could be pretty sure it's the same model

      It is a definite improvement, especially at night

  • @irishsavage8715
    @irishsavage8715 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    It looks exactly the same

    • @4KMotoring
      @4KMotoring  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's not a profound difference for sure, it is a bit more noticeable at night as the new camera lets in a lot more light. For that reason, I would say it was a worthwhile investment...

    My 2020 Frontier Pro 4X back up camera is terrible. By contrast my wife's 2019 Mazda CX5 backup camera is so clear you can actually read a book in it. Thanks for nothing Nissan

    Add Dieselleds for back up lights
    You’ll be amazed!

      I've seen these all over the forums! I'm definitely considering some increased lighting for the rear of the truck, this camera is a big improvement in low light already

    Much better than the original. I’m working on a solution as well. Let me know if you’d like to collaborate on a solution. Great 👍 video

    • @4KMotoring
      @4KMotoring  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'd love to find a more modern solution. This upgraded camera is a huge upgrade, especially in low light environments. As mentioned, it isn't even 1080p quality. As we move into the mid-2020s, I'm amazed at how little quality these backup cameras still offer

    I got the Phoenix unit installed, bigger reverse display with obviously a better resolution, curious of the difference of this mod would do for it.

    • @4KMotoring
      @4KMotoring  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have been very curious if the head unit is the main cause of the low resolution or if it is truly the camera itself. The upgraded camera I installed still says it's not up to 1080p or similar quality that I would expect out of a modern camera, so I'm not sure how much better it would look on an aftermarket head unit

  • @kipperlane5589
    @kipperlane5589 ปีที่แล้ว

    For 120$ I don’t see the difference I’ve got an 2018 Titan and tail lights are smoked and I’ve never had a problem day or night but hey to each his own yolo

    • @4KMotoring
      @4KMotoring  ปีที่แล้ว

      I noticed the biggest difference at night as the image is a whole lot brighter than the factory camera. If you're not hooking to a trailer or backing through intricate areas in the dark, it's probably not a big deal for you. Still, it is woefully inadequate compared to most other modern vehicles, even with the upgrade.
