    Found this video after I had taken my truck to the Nissan dealer with 98,000 miles on it and they said I needed a new transmission for $8200 worth. Then I took my truck to a trusted friend and he said the same thing that the transmission fluid is burnt. so I decided what the heck let’s put an AGM battery in it even though my battery tested good and was only a year old. I just test drove it for 30 miles and no issues. I’m shocked that the dealer didn’t have a clue on this or anyone else thanks 1 million for posting this saved me piles of money.

      Also, I live in Georgia and it got down in the teens on the weather and was not wanting to start without multiple pushes on the start button. In addition, I’ve made several 10 hour trips, pulling a boat and a couple of times it was bogging down and I had to pull over turn it off. Wait a few minutes and restart for it to fix that, I truly believe it was all voltage issues to the computer and sensors. Will update as time goes by.

      Just an update. I pulled the gray plug and it is running even smoother at low RPM. I really wasn’t having any issues above 3000 RPMs or on the highway. I did have issues when pulling trailers along distance I believe that the trailer was drawing voltage as well and the alternator dropping down was causing issues. Thanks for posting your video super helpful save me the aggravation of replacing a transmission and having the issue still.

    2017 Titan S Crew. 72k miles. Threw a P0720 code (Output shaft speed sensor) will NOT go beyond 3rd gear! reset it with my iphone/OBD. Was fine for about 20miles then happened again this morning. Mine has ALWAYS done the slow start shit/fluttering shifting, and in my honest opinion is a complete and utter POS! I've had one other Nissan, an 06 Trashfinder and that should have been my lesson because it was nothing but trouble. I'm trying to reset my ECU (disconnecting battery as I type) which I know wont fix anything but I'm at my wits end here. I can TRY a new battery I guess, but I'm honestly ready to trade it in and will NEVER EVER buy another Nissan as long as I live. Thanks for posting and I'll keep you posted.

      Unfortunately just about every new vehicle gets lower and lower in quality as the technology becomes more advanced and complicated. If you want something reliable, don't buy anything made after 2004

    Update on my 2018 Titan S , I bought it with 54k miles a year and a half ago (6/22). Started shifting bad 2 months later so changed the battery . Shifted better but not great so I lived with it since I can't afford running back to the dealership and leaving it for no telling how long . A month ago(10/23) it started again , slow starts and slipping trans ,so I bought a new battery but it didn't work this time . Take it to dealership and they say , codes read "transmission replacement" . I freaked out but having bought an extended warranty at least I won't have to pay 9100 bucks for a new one . Well an inspector from the company that has the service agreement comes and denys the repairs claiming leaking fluid lines caused improper fluid levels while driving ...even though there were no warnings indicators showing on dash and no signs of leaking fluid in my driveway where the truck sits . I'm scewed ... That truck is my lively hood .

    My 2018 did that one time at about 17k miles I didn't think about it being the battery. Started to struggle with start, so I went to dealer and they replaced the battery under warranty. It wasn't until I came across a video where someone was discussing modern cars (specifically the A/C) and how the batteries play a far greater role in the vehicle electronics (which affect pretty much everything in modern vehicles) than decades ago. That's when the light bulb went on and I figured that was the cause for my stuttering on acceleration. Hasn't happened since I replaced the battery.

      Do you know how long you've had the battery in the truck? Both the first generation Titan and my current Titan have seemed to eat batteries pretty quickly. The slow starting and limp mode mine went into work clearly as a result of a weakened battery. Was testing good by Nissan but showing not fully charged so they wouldn't replace it under warranty... If yours is not doing the limp mode thing, only a single gear slip at certain temperature. It may be more of a torque converter or transmission issue rather than a computer generated limp mode.

I've been to the dealer 3 times on the issue and receiving deer in headlight look. Saw you video and went to my truck with a voltage meter. Not running I show 12 volts. Running showing 14 respectively on an analog meter. This issue has just started within the year. Your video has merit for all the electrical considerations. The one thing that puzzles me. You were able to remote start your truck with the hood up. Mine will not. Which I found out with volt meter attached to battery and hood up. Not even with volt meter attached and hood closed. Interesting. Your thoughts? I was wanting to see the draw down on starting.

      These issues are always puzzling. I've had my fan clutch replaced under warranty, as it seems to be a common problem with these trucks. My aftermarket remote start may be a different brand than yours, so that may be the difference in starting with the hood up.
      The nav screen rebooting is one I've heard from several people, usually resulting in replacement of the infotainment system. That said, if you're still running your original battery it's probably starting to die. Mine was still testing "acceptable" but was definitely bad.
      At least, a new battery will rule out that as a possible issue

    Just found out the Titan is suppose to use an AGM battery instead if the FLA type battery. My question is why does Nissan install FLA batteries on the Titan from the factory?

    • @4KMotoring
      @4KMotoring  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think this was a more recent addition to the owner's manual, after repeated failure was reported with FLA batteries. Warranty replacements were done with FLA until recently and now it's all AGM. Better late than never, I guess?

      @@4KMotoring I found out when I would get in my truck at night and I'd drive about a 1/4 mile down the road and my lights would dim. Went for service on my truck and asked the tech and he unplugged a wire on the battery and said it was part of the Smart charge alternator and I noticed it quit dimming the lights. So the next day i went and purchased that high dollar AGM battery and plugged the wire in and the lights stopped going dim. I really thought I was having an alternator issue. Almost replaced the alternator too. Thanks to the tech for saving me some money. 🤣

    2017 5.6l endurance.. I’ve had issues with shifting since the day after I bought it last week. I did get it from a buy here/ pay here location and didn’t get a warranty like a DA. When upshifting, the vehicle seems like it doesn’t know what gear it needs to be in and hard shifts a bit. Replaced the 2019 Walmart battery with an optima yellow top, and still having issues. I took it into nissan to have a full inspection done and was told that the transmission and torque converter need to be replaced. Through Nissan, that tallies up over $10,400, which is half of what the vehicle cost me. I did ask about the ecu, tcu, or computer flash/ upgrade and was told there was no update available for it. So, now I’m at a standstill and have no idea what to do. If anyone has suggestions, please reply. Thanks
