Not only does it create more replay value, but I think it really incentivizes doing a real coaching path of starting at a bad school and working your way up to running your dream powerhouse, rather than just taking over that team right off rip. Definitely agree. Also, the fact that you can't max out every tree. So you can be max level coach and still have many different things that you need to try in your future dynasties. The possibilities are incredibly vast with all the decision making we should have.
In madden I like to go into every game and set it to slow Sim and simply just watch my team play the games by itself. Don't need to worry about usering or playcalling or anything I would do during a game to affect the result. All I do is build the best team and scheme I possibly can and let my team win me the games. I’ll never forget getting fired from my Oklahoma head coaching job on the PS2 when NCAA College Football 2002 came out. The next coaching job I took was for a very downtrodden unranked (they weren’t even in the top 50) Miami Hurricanes team. I didn’t have many schools to pick from, but I said what the heck and took a flyer on them. What made this so special of a run was how terrible the players they had and I mean terrible. All of the skill position players averaged 82 speed, “outside of one player,” whom I’ll get back to in a moment. The Oline and Dline were decent and the linebackers were average at best. All the QB’s had 40 speed and no accuracy despite having enough throwing power to put a hole in a F-150 truck. I started the season 0-4 and by the 5th game I put in a nickel back that was practically at the bottom of his position at corner. But here’s the caveat, dude had an overall skill set I hadn’t seen in most of the players I ever recruited. His speed, agility, acceleration was 93, he had a 65 catching rating, an 82 jump rating, throwing power and accuracy though, was in the high 50’s. By the 5th game I put the guy as my starting top corner despite his low rating and then I put him at slot and the dude was Him! Only problem was that my QB was getting pummeled because I couldn’t get him to avoid the blitz and when he got hurt, I had to make an OG call and put my slash DB/WR in as the starting QB. I finished that season undefeated and the guy stayed my starter until he graduated! It was by far the most compelling and enjoyable season I ever had playing that game. All this while playing ALL-American levels, cause I love a good challenge.
The only way to do it right imo is start at a small school and grind your way to a top tier school...putting in years of grinding to become a legendary HC
Amen. Need my dynasty hard asf, it should take me the better part of a decade to reach the top. And once I'm there it should be very difficult to stay there.
Tying into your tip about following coaching moves and stories, I like following my own "coaching tree". I keep tabs on where my previous coordinators go and what kind of success they have with their own HC positions. Makes it fun many years into the dynasty to see how my own coaching tree stands up to some of the good ones irl like Saban and Leach.
Love the stat spreadsheet. I used to do this all the time with NASCAR games and still have those spreadsheets. I also did a spreadsheet keeping track of every single dollar spent and earned for the GTA Online businesses. It certainly feels nice to look and see the progress. Hopefully a lot of the stats will be there for the game that I might not have to do it manually, but even so. I like my own sheets and I can have access to them at any moment.
Bro, I love your commentary and your attention to detail is outstanding. I will most definitely be taking these 10 steps to make my play through more realistic. Keep up the great work!! You've got my sub for sure

This is the type of shit I love to see, this creativity and getting the most out of the immersion is what makes games like this great. Really cool never seen this type of “tutorial” but it’s more useful than most
Thanks a lot! Now I have to drop an extra $30 to get the early access because you got me so pumped to play NCAA again, ha ha ha. Thank you for the Wyoming shout out, I used Wyoming as my dynasty rebuild every year from ‘05 until ‘14. I’m so excited for the challenge, it sounds like it’s going to be so much more realistic and difficult now. Love the video, and appreciate your time and effort! Please continue to make videos!
I'm a lover of college football as whole, all programs get shouted out around here. But my prayers are with you for that Wyo dynasty, it ain't gone be easy.
I’m looking forward to the challenge. I’m probably a below average player, but in the previous games, even I could turn the Cowboys into an annual championship contender after 5 -7 seasons. I’m most excited about the more realistic recruiting. Has anyone heard how long you can play a dynasty? 60 seasons?
@@joshuagorham3689 Iirc it's only 30. But tbf, if you start coaching at like, 40, which is still pretty young for coaches, 30 years makes you 70 years old, which is pretty dang old lol.
I'm a huge Georgia fan and will start with them. After a few months, I'll start a "real" career as an OC in a G5. I don't plan on losing many games in the first few weeks with Georgia (I don't play online), and I'm fine with that. FWIW, I'm 49 years old, remember playing college football games when they were tied to Bill Walsh, and am looking forward to the release of this game like a five year-old looks forward to Christmas morning.
The replayability of this game just from the coach progression is looking INCREDIBLE. Then on top of that the massive differences from a small school and a big school lookin like it could almost be different game entirely. Lookin like a FEAST for us.
Exactly. If this is balanced properly and implemented the way they're suggesting, this could be one of the greatest football gaming experiences we've have seen.
Bro you are so underrated!! Personally never played in NCAA game but i definitely run my madden franchises similar to this. Alrdy pre ordered CFB25 and can’t wait to play franchise with all these tips. I subscribed and liked, this video is straight 🔥
Hope this can add something to your experience! I have lots of content on the channel centered around providing yall with a tough and realistic dynasty. In fact, I just dropped my first slider set yesterday. Feel free to check them out brother
One thing I have done is I make my own top 25 each week and compare it to the polls. It makes it more immersive because you get knowledge of the top teams every week, and when you play a top 10 team you already have a good scouting report just because you did your research from week to week.
Absolutely. RyzeRyan (CFBR modder) created an amazing rankings tool that tried to mimic coach and media polls as well as playoff committee logic. It's incredible.
7:13 that's tied into the coaches too with their pipelines. Which is an interesting way to be able to recruit outside of local area bring in a new OC or DC with a new pipeline.
Liked the tracker idea and I now have a couple hours playing around with it and getting it to how I like it with a custom team I plan on making - even going as far as doing a quick season sim of a dynasty I ended recently to get a feel for it and do adjustments where needed
@@moistoxtapuss I subbed and noticed you just started making videos??? Dawg I thought you were like 20k subs in already. You sound and react better than 80% of the community covering College. Hopefully you do a rebuild series. Good luck man!
Damn preciate the kind words. But yeah I've literally not even been making videos for a week yet lmao but I plan on continuing the grind, keep an eye out...
I always used to create my own storylines during my dynasties, such as my qb missed curfew so he would be suspended for the first quarter, a starting WR was late to a team meaning so he gets benched for the opening series, a random player has his gpa drop so he gets suspended for a game, a random player has a family member who got sick so he has to go back home so he has to miss a game, etc., etc. I’ll definitely have like 2-3 dynasties going on. I’m going to have one where the conferences are back to 2022/2023 alignment but I’ll move any independent schools to their current conferences.
As an Australian i literally have no idea about college football teams but I'm psyched for this game....i think I'm leaving towards Oregon. I like the green uniforms.
As a Canadian, I havent been following for years now, but planning on getting back into everything with this game. No better way of learning the teams and rosters than a game that actually captures every aspect of the realism.
Hoping with all the players being brought in from overseas nowadays, college football can start to expand more to other countries. No need to gatekeep.
I always loved playing a “realistic” coach storyline. Start as a OC or “position coach” in G5, in a few years take a P5 position. A couple years after that G5 HC and several more years final head a P5 program. It’s a grind but very fun to see how your old teams do, and brings some of the pain in decision making. Leave now or wait for the dream job?
Totally agree. If there's no story, it's impossible for me to stay engaged. But when the deep story is there I become so immersed in the world that's been created and never want to grindin my dynasty.
I started my Dynasty today with Florida International. Love the idea of tracking everything with the Sheet and will definitely use that Idea. Only wish Florida International would have some more rivalries then only Florida Atlantic. But that only means I have to build up my own rivalries. Looking at you Miami, Florida and FSU even if that probably still is some time down the road. Next potential rival is probably USF. Also it's strange but I feel disappointed after I beat Indiana in my first game, it feels like I stole myself the feeling of working hard for my first upset win over a p4 team.
One thing I like to do with QBs is make a rule that I can only make certain audibles or audibles in general if they have a certain amount of Awareness.
I do something similar. I limit the size of the playbook based on their awareness. In '14, I think I created thresholds of plays in the playbook of I think 50, 75, 95, and 125. You can set your own arbitrary thresholds of awareness to unlock those. 🙃
Most college QBs aren't calling the plays and the audibles are coming from the sideline hence why when you make an audible the whole offense looks to the sideline it would be sweet but no where close to the what actually happens imo
My biggest immersion “house rule” is more along the lines of playing the game as intended. I will give myself a small handful of “long shot” recruits and make sure that the rest already have interest in my team. People like to complain about recruiting being “too easy” when they shove all of their points/hours at the best that they can get. That’s abusing the system and something that the devs won’t program around. The devs won’t design the game intending to have the player coach recruit like that. They’ll give you the option for it but having the option doesn’t mean it’s intended gameplay, games get broken all the time by people who look to break it. I’ve been a no switch player since Madden 06 on the PS2 (my fav Madden by far). My only exception is ultimate team so I can make solo challenges much more manageable. I’ll add that playing as the highest awareness (or awareness and play rec combo) player adds to that immersion, sure it’s frustrating to be the 80 speed off ball linebacker but it feels better than making a raw DB with 97 speed make plays like he’s Sauce Gardner
Ive always been a fan of the little details in games. I personally would have made Dynasty mode start as the athletic director. Give the players full control like franchise mode in madden. You hire the HC, OC, DC, and ST, staff. This makes it harder to get fired from your chosen program but easy to move onto another program if you get bored. Implement a budget system where you can do stadium renovations. Facility upgrades that affect recruiting, players retention, and injury rehab times. Uniform alternatives all based on how successful the program is and if the budget goes up or down. Winning bowl games increases budget in real life. If the team loses id like to less fan attendance. The ability to create traditions such as chants and fan gestures. The ability to create plays or steal them from other programs and add them to your playbook regardless of who the coach is or what the style is. Add a local blog that reports a weekly newsletter of how the game went. They had that back in the old ncaa games. If they want to add replav value they easily could but its EA we are talking about here. I never get my hopes up too much with them. They do the bare minimum all the time.
Big fan of a lot of these ideas. Sounds like it would be a lot to implement some of them tho and as you eluded to, I don't expect any massive dope changes to Dynasty / Franchise like these, as amazing as they would be.
If you make a copy of the spreadsheet, then you'll be able to edit it. Perhaps look up a video on youtube if you are completely new to using things like that, I'm sure there's great resources out there to help you learn quickly.
I really like that first one I am going to definitely use that one. One thing I do is I only play a certain amount of games like 3 or 4 or something like that regular season games. I want my recruiting to matter. The team needs to win in Sim and when I play with them. So I pick 4 games at the beginning of the season. If I pick 4 trash teams that I could beat even if I simmed them that's on me. There is no changing it. They need to be able to beat the teams that's balling in a Sim. It's so interesting the undefeated season def means more the rebuild mean so much more. They aren't easy. Now if I am the OC I play every game because I only control the offense.
Dope video! Would be dope to see a video on how to do this with a connected franchise especially since the commissioner is in charge of conferences and scheduling games. We all will be choosing from 2 1/2 to 3 star teams and I want us to be able to play each other while still having more cpu than user vs user games
I will be in a very dedicated Online Dynasty with many other modders and other "regulars" of the CFBR community. Just might have to make a video discussing how to make yall's ODs more fun and immersive.
@@moistoxtapuss yes! That would be great! Obviously I’ll do my own research but I’d say things like custom conferences, choosing between HC or a coordinator, scheduling, sliders, and just anything like you said that can help immerse the league to make it fun and competitive. I was the commissioner on 24 for a league that went bout 4-5 seasons and by season 2 teams are op and players are putting up insane numbers which leads to other teams quitting. I just want it fair and competitive all around
It's way tougher when you have to govern a group of individuals who may not share the same vision as you but I screenshotted your comment and will touch on a lot of those points if I get around to that video.
One of the great things you can do to keep it fun is only recruit areas where you have defeated a team, for instance your alma mater and the schools state are the only places you can start and then if you beat UGA you can recruit north Georgia if you beat UT El Paso you can recruit the western part of Texas so on and so forth
my thought process been if your a good to playoff contender go with motivator so u can get that boost in your player ratings recruits are gonna wanna come play for you based of your record or being a championship type of team now if you go to a small school defiantly should pick recruiter
I too am a psycho, I look at literally anything and everything in dynasty and keep track of it. It keeps it fun for me and I’m glad I’m not the only one😂
@@moistoxtapuss in your spreadsheet I’d also add a sheet of national standings at the end of each year to keep track of teams that have been consistently good throughout the dynasty
Great Video. Never thought about using multiple teams before. But I’m interested in trying. I really want to use my favorite team, UGA. But it would be nice to rebuild Hawaii. I will have to try the multiple teams.
For me it definitely helps maintain my interest for a much longer time, stopping me from wanting to abandon my dynasty to start a new experience. Hope you end up enjoying it big dawg.
This is kinda obvious but one thing that helps me is recruiting to my playbook. If I run an air raid offense I’m gonna go after higher rated offensive tackles with high PASS BLOCKING attributes rather than IOL with high run blocking attributes because you’re going to be passing a lot more
InNCAA 14 instead of multiple teams, I used to play out the other national broadcast games every week. That way I didn’t have to deal with all the recruiting.
I always love CPU vs CPU I hope we will have the ability to watch CPU vs CPU games as well. Even if I'm controlling a team I might like to watch random good matchups.
Big Duke basketball fan, lived in NC all my life. Thinking of trying to turn them into a football powerhouse too. Also considering coastal carolina, smu, houston, nebraska, memphis, georgia tech, marshall, syracuse, and south carolina. Really not sure lol
I'm thinking definitely Vandy and probably Northwestern would be tough P4 rebuilds. I may make a video for the Top 5 P4 teams to rebuild soon. Keep an eye out...
Honestly I’ve really gotten into making my own playbook style. I want to run a spread and shoot if you will. Mix of options but with the passes that will tire defenders quickly to open the run
I actually have a very detailed way of going about playbook editing that I may make a video on once the game releases. Basically, as your coach level increases, the more freedom you have to edit the PB. Keep an eye out...
Dude you cannot ask me to like your video and then tell me you’re a Steelers fan! (Jk I liked the video) The pipeline system is going to help keep teams geographically realistic
Understandable go ahead and take that like back 😭😂 But you're right if this pipeline system is implemented correctly it's gonna add a ton to the immersion of our dynasties.
Low key coming up with realistic betting odds and game lines for your games before you play them is just another way to make it more immersive cuz irl I like to look at game lines of games I watch
This would be nice too. RyzeRyan (another CFBR modder that I've collabed with on projects) made an amazing betting & customization tool for NCAA 14. If anyone's gonna still be playing the old game, they definitely need to check that out if they haven't.
Lmao it's more of a mentality than a literal desire. Want to be having so much fun and be so immersed that I legit never want to abandon the dynasty once I start it.
Here's a link to the video for my updated Dynasty Tracker. Check the description of the video for the link to the Tracker. th-cam.com/video/TO-bKtTW_7I/w-d-xo.html
I wish I could edit the non nil players in dynasty, and I wish they had the press conferences like madden had and the ability to have players do drills to improve stats.
Matt Campbell is a criminally underrated head coach with his ability to consistently develop low to mid-tier recruits. He seems like a great man too, a lot of our core principles align.
UConn would definitely be a fun one. If you'd like, check out 5 teams I suggest rebuilding and the break downs of those teams th-cam.com/video/YXUZvH1Kr-g/w-d-xo.html
Another good tip is carousel dynasty coaches move up once they get better offers and accomplish things at different schools that’s the route I will go start off as coordinator at your favorite school and then there you are group of 5 another coordinator job big school and and the you’re the HC smaller p4 until bama comes knocking.
if im good at madden is playing the computer gna be way too easy when my team isnt great? havent ever played dynasty on a college football game kinda worried itll be too easy to win a championship
I would argue you should be able to pick a side of the ball to use your own personal playbook on I.E offense or Defense but you have to let at least one coordinator control the playbook for a side of the ball.
@oxtapuss Love the ideas. Definitely going to do the tracker as I do a lot of stats/spreadsheets for my normal coaching job. Question: do you list everyone in your class for your recruiting page? Or is it just top recruits from each class? With up to 35 potential signees that sheet could start to take up a lot of room. I also think I am going to add a "Transfer" sheet maybe a separate class tracker or just for seeing transfers in and out each year and what region/teams they come from/go to.
Yes, personally I will be adding every recruit and as you suggested, will also be adding a Transfer sheet. Personally, I need ALL the info recorded but then again I'm a bit psychotic with my obsessiveness.

There's nothing wrong with starting at a big school and dealing with the pressure that is involved with that
I would rather start small and grow the program
@@erikderwin that's fine it's your dynasty play it however you choose, who are you rocking with?

Completely agree. Definitely one of things I track heavily. Anything to create more story and give personality to the players and coaches.

Glad you're enjoying and I preciate the support gang.
Something else you can do is limit the size of the playbook based on their QB'a awareness. In '14, I think I created thresholds of plays in the playbook of I think 50, 75, 95, and 125. You can n set your own arbitrary thresholds of awareness to unlock those bigger playbooks. 🙃
This is the type of shit I love to see, this creativity and getting the most out of the immersion is what makes games like this great. Really cool never seen this type of “tutorial” but it’s more useful than most
Glad you enjoyed big dawg
Thanks a lot! Now I have to drop an extra $30 to get the early access because you got me so pumped to play NCAA again, ha ha ha.
That spreadsheet is insane. That’s the craziest thing I have ever seen

Anything for a fellow Steelers fan.
I'm going with Georgia Tech for my dynasty... I'm 42, I used to play that Bill Walsh game too, good times
Your channel is a diamond in the rough!
Preciate you!

Great work man! I absolutely love realism. Excellent content here.
Absolutely is. Another great feature in the new game. Adds that much more personality to the coaches.
Liked the tracker idea and I now have a couple hours playing around with it and getting it to how I like it with a custom team I plan on making - even going as far as doing a quick season sim of a dynasty I ended recently to get a feel for it and do adjustments where needed

investing at 200 subs. loved this video! thank you for the content :)
Preciate. I think I'm cookin up something good for yall for tomorrow.
Oregon is such a good pick. They're a pretty good team, with probably the greatest selection of uniforms that any College has.
Lot of tremendous ideas here! Subscribed!

Starting an online Dynasty with about 10 of my friends and associates. I’m so excited it’s a shame. Hopefully we keep this league going forever
feel ima go in a coma before this drops
Stay strong brother.
Great job man. I’m not sure if it’s your pacing, but this video was different from the other NCAA 25 videos.
Preciate it brother. We just getting started.

Love the time stamps, thank you!
If you're liking that tracker, definitely check out this newer one that I found! th-cam.com/video/3d8DhaYRTQ8/w-d-xo.html
We'd get along.
@@moistoxtapuss you would think its hard to implement but not really. 2k has been doing that kind of stuff in their games for decades.
As a Gophers fan I’d give anything for a 10 win season this year 😂. Great video only a few more days!
Gonna have to make it happen in CFB 25 then lol.
For me its going to be the nick saban challenge and start as a (DC) at a g5 school and grind my way up to get a dream job (florida) or (lsu)
This is gangsta. You gotta be a real dawg to start as a DC over OC.
@moistoxtapuss playing as a (dc) in 14 was fun and challenging so im do it again
I’m starting as an OC at FIU or Charlotte. Bout to be lit
I appreciate this video. 🙏🏿
How do I adopt your spreadsheet template & clear out all the old information?
Also how do I add onto it, like when I play more years how can I make it continue? I’ve never used sheets.
I love building out different custom conference scenarios. Especially with teams like Stanford sitting in the ACC which drives me crazy.
Felt this. I despise the constant and geographically nonsensical conference realignment.
Great video, thanks for the tips!
Glad you enjoyed big dawg.

I've actually never heard of this. Sounds like a unique idea for a long YT series or something lol.

This is kinda obvious but one thing that helps me is recruiting to my playbook. If I run an air raid offense I’m gonna go after higher rated offensive tackles with high PASS BLOCKING attributes rather than IOL with high run blocking attributes because you’re going to be passing a lot more

if im good at madden is playing the computer gna be way too easy when my team isnt great? havent ever played dynasty on a college football game kinda worried itll be too easy to win a championship
I also think I am going to add a "Transfer" sheet maybe a separate class tracker or just for seeing transfers in and out each year and what region/teams they come from/go to.
sounds awesome. What coaching job by the way if you dont mind me asking?
Yes, personally I will be adding every recruit and as you suggested, will also be adding a Transfer sheet. Personally, I need ALL the info recorded but then again I'm a bit psychotic with my obsessiveness.
