I have a bullet in my kitchen cabinet from a gun during deer hunting near my home. From years past. Inside double pane kitchen window over my kitchen sink was shot out. Glass all over the floor. Outside storm window ruined. We were gone over the road driving semi. Hard to prove what day it happened and who shot the bullet. So didn't report it. Late husband did labor for replacing windows. Replacement for window cost of $1000.00. Thankful no one was near window inside. The child needs to go to a gun safety course. Glad your injuries weren't worse. Thank you for the video. Jimmy, I use to work for an Andersen Window dealer in Portland Maine...My sons shared a BB Gun rifle and for some reason aimed it at a window in our 4 season room, without checking the safty, and pulled the trigger. Double pane glass didn't shatter but we still have a bb hole and bb inside of glass panes...yes, we remind him every time he get home (active Navy--- he was 9 )...Cheers from Maine

I've been involved with the Boy Scouts, and I've dealt with boys from all different kinds of backgrounds, maturity, and upbringings. Rather than turn it into a scolding session, I turn issues into learning sessions, hold them accountable, and let them make the choice of how they would have done things differently. Yelling or scolding a child will only accomplish things in a negative way. You can be firm with them, advise them, and yes even ask them to apologize. By making it a learning lesson, the mom is less apt to go on the defensive mode to protect her child, the child learns and hopefully retains the choices that could have been made, possible results of those choices, and hopefully thru guidance, to learn to make the correct choices in the future. It very well could have been an accident, or on purpose, teaching a child there are consequences to their actions, and they will be held accountable, to have respect for others, and ultimately make the correct decision in the future. I'm glad you are not severely injured, and I to have been shot by a pellet gun, and it hurts. Keep icing the bruise to keep the swelling to a minimum, and hey a couple of beers just might help. As for the other group, maybe they lack the experience, etiquette, and courtesy when camping with others. Maybe it's a very good thing that they are moving on, hopefully they learned a few lessons. Maybe they won't, but it will catch up with them eventually.
Woah, man down! I'm so glad you weren't badly hurt and you're doing okay. Way to take the high road. I've seen some really bad BB (and some real) gun injuries. Squirrels die almost instantly with one shot (I have a mean uncle). LOL!
Wow! Glad you were not injured worse than that. Mother ahould have made her son apologize immediately, as she should have also. I raised 3 sons, and Lord knows they were not perfect. My Husband grew up with a girl whose brother shot her with a BB gun, in the eye and blinded her. Her blind eye looked totally different than the sighted eye.....Can be very dangerous. Glad you're okay.🎄

When my brother turned 12 & I was 11, he was given permission to have a BB rifle. He was told to only shoot at targets, never at or towards people or animals. One day while I was setting up his targets, he was in the shoot location and pulled the trigger (maybe by accident) and the BB clipped my bent elbow and took a little chunk of flesh off the elbow bone. Hurt like blazes & bled a little bit. I let out a yelp & my brother dashed over & put his hand over my mouth. Our Mum worked nights & was sleeping. He begged me not to make a sound to wake her up or tell on him because he'd lose the rifle and my parent's trust. So, I didn't cry & I never told. My brother never 'accidently' shot anyone again either. Good thing that kid didn't hit the dogs or wound someone more seriously. As much as it was nice the mother apologized, I hope she dealt with the kid's irresponsibility and should have her child apologize too. Glad it was superficial, could have been worse in so many ways.

So glad you, and every one else, are ok! As a single mom myself, my son had his own cell phone at 5 yo, and a bb gun at 7. I was raised with guns and safety to pass on...he was great with it, and is now (at 30yo) an armed guard and gun except. I hope the mom shows a bit more of the safety aspect with him! 👍

I was staying in a campground and 3 boys from 2 campers had bee bee guns. The one was sitting at a picnic table and his father was there too. He was shooting the gun across the driveway and between 2 campers and he did not say a word to him.

Yikes glad everyone is okay. BBs can do damage. Friend of mine ended up with some under his skin on his head and had to go to the ER. Hopefully she only allows him to play with it while she's watching from now on
That kid needs all new toys~ hoolahoops, jumpropes, springhoppers, butterfly nets, a dog, etc. Glad you are OK, and hope he and his mom learned something. I had a neighbor in a house- rented room situation. He left his crossbow, gun, and machete on the kitchen counter. One night I saw him cutting a large slab of meat with a huge cleaver- the meat was put into a garbage bag-- I was frightened of him- the Lord helped me with fear and eventually the guy moved out after 4 years.
The mother is liable! She should feel bad she is/was not watching/parenting her child. I am glad you are okay and sharing this experience! I hope your real time day is going well!
These are my favorite type of people to camp by. . .not. We had been in our nice quiet, spot for thirty minutes and then here they come a family of eight right next to us. Two parents, six kids NO supervision. Hatchets, knives fire starting, stick poking, whining, crying, so fun to be entertained by animals. But when the two year-old with no supervision ran out in front of a car and the "parents" never noticed, uggggggg. The driver had to get out of their vehicle and move the kid. We went camping to get away from the neighbors that were the same way.
Glad you're OK. No child should be playing with weapons or potential weapons without use and safety instruction and supervision. Glad Ed went and spoke to them. The boy should have to apologize. No consequences, no lesson learned.

That kid needs all new toys~ hoolahoops, jumpropes, springhoppers, butterfly nets, a dog, etc.

I had a neighbor in a house- rented room situation. He left his crossbow, gun, and machete on the kitchen counter. One night I saw him cutting a large slab of meat with a huge cleaver- the meat was put into a garbage bag-- I was frightened of him- the Lord helped me with fear and eventually the guy moved out after 4 years.
The mother is liable!
She should feel bad she is/was not watching/parenting her child.

These are my favorite type of people to camp by. . .not. We had been in our nice quiet, spot for thirty minutes and then here they come a family of eight right next to us. Two parents, six kids NO supervision. Hatchets, knives fire starting, stick poking, whining, crying, so fun to be entertained by animals. But when the two year-old with no supervision ran out in front of a car and the "parents" never noticed, uggggggg. The driver had to get out of their vehicle and move the kid. We went camping to get away from the neighbors that were the same way.
Glad you're OK. No child should be playing with weapons or potential weapons without use and safety instruction and supervision. Glad Ed went and spoke to them. The boy should have to apologize. No consequences, no lesson learned.
