    I love this video. I failed the first time I had a home daycare for all the reasons you described. Then I got a trainer through the government called Keystone Stars. She worked with me on policy handbook, education, and room flow. I re opened and was successful. Praise the Lord!!! You are helping so many people with these videos.

    Thank you so much for sharing. I guess my biggest mistake has been to try to accommodate everyone for fear of not having enough clients. My hours are too long and it makes so I don't have much time left to take care of my own family.

      No but when I had a center I went to file a report for theft of service with the police. It’s up the street from me. When I got there the office just said he will call and it will help. It did. However after that God told me focus on your policies and stand your ground but if someone doesn’t pay he will take care of it and for me to say a prayer of blessing for their family and over them and I have. I don’t ever have a parent not pay now because I get payment first before watching a child.

    Thank you Alive Learning Academy for sharing your experiences with us. I’ve been seriously thinking about opening a small child care in my home. I use to work with children many many years ago when I was in high school when I left high school I went in a different direction and started working with seniors and individuals with disabilities as much as I like what I do now I do miss working with kiddos and my own family life has changed as I now have a young son and the hours at my current job are becoming harder to find care for my own son which is not helping our family situation. So I was taking into consideration opening a small daycare in my small home so that I could still help provide for my family and would help us as I would no longer need or struggle with finding care for my own son. I live down the street from an elementary school and could even offer after school care for those kiddos. Just curious on if you have any suggestions on a newbie thinking about going down a new career journey and what advice would you give me? I live in the state of Michigan so I know that I have to be licensed before I can open my doors. Any advice I would be totally grateful for. Thank you in advance Donna

    What is your experience if you can not celebrate holidays in the daycare? I don't celebrate any holidays for religious reasons except passover. But I would like to have an educational program that focus on different cultures instead.Do you think parents will have a problem? thanks I love your videos.

      Thank you and I’m glad this community is helping.
      The joy of being an owner is you can cater to whoever you want. You are not for everyone and there are families who want what you offer. Just outline it in your policy handbook and ensure your families understand what you provide. Your vibe will attract your tribe.❤️ Then just advertise every day.

    When will you do a video on policy handbook?

    • @PlayTimeChildCareTraining
      @PlayTimeChildCareTraining  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It starts next week and it’s going to be a three week series because I have so much to share and it’s better as short powerful videos than long ones. Here’s the title of some. I’ll actually upload the titles for the next three weeks tonight or tomorrow.
      Why you need a policy handbook
      Adjustment period
      Gross misconduct
      Parents who won’t follow your policies
      Hours of operation
      Important information
      How to set tuition
      I want my money now
      Types of payments
      Types of discounts to offer
      Admissions
      Food program
      Release of children
      Incident and illness
      Medical emergencies
      What’s needed for evacuation
      Discipline and guidance
      Parent involvement
      Gang free zone and sexual predator list
      This is just to name a few. Every video will come with links that you can visit to help also.

    • @PlayTimeChildCareTraining
      @PlayTimeChildCareTraining  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No you should always do what’s best for you and follow your heart and head. Often times we know when a parent is trying to take advantage of us and this who really need the support, understanding or help.
