Each meal is put in a pint freezer bag and you add 1 cup boiling water, let sit 5-10 minutes, then eat out of the bag. No dishes to wash. First, biscuits and gravy: Take 1 pack ramen and break up into tiny pieces and put in freezer bag. Instead of the seasoning packet, put in 1/2 pack of Pioneer Country Gravy mix. Add 1 cup boiling water, let sit 5 minutes, then eat. Could add some bacon pieces if you have them. That was fun. I just recently started reading about sailboats, their owners, and their excursions. Some were restricted to certain oceans, others around the world. One husband and wife team were just like you guys, and had their baby with them, and the kid learned to walk while they sailed from Oslo Norway all the way to Auckland. Honest! They had him tethered to the railing. If you'd like to read their book, it's called: "The Cruise of the Teddy" by Erling Tambs. His book was published in the late 1930s but you can still find a nice copy. Thanks again, guys... loved the tour.
Wow, this like seeing hubby, daughter and me 33 years ago. The vberth became her domaine and we loaded it with cushions and created a plexiglass door so we could see her at all times. As she grew older, we put netting on all the lifelines which made it a floating playpen. Lol. It was a Mirage 24 and is still being loved by a new owner. Now, we have an Aloha 32. We need the head room now.
Any boat of any size can be great fun. Always be safe on the water. In my opinion a boat 20' or above as this one is would be great fun, a total blast and a great way to enjoy the water and create great memories. Always be safe and responsible on the water.. I enjoy watching this channel and the channel Sailing into Freedom.
My first boat a 19.5 foot outboard was great fun and helped provide some great memories that even today we still talk about among friends. Just be safe, responsible and keep the water clean.
Im new to sailing and just bought a 76'Oday. The amount of room you have in that boat is absolutely mind blowing. My jaw dropped when you were standing in the cabin.
I came late to your journey and fell in love in love with it by the time you got to Thailand. If you look up adaptability in the dictionary I’m sure will find your pictures. I love you guys and your beautiful baby Willa. I’m looking forward to discovering more about Canada through your future sailing on your beautiful tiny boat (which by the way is awesomely designed). Yes, their love is contagious the best distraction while stuck inside away from covid 19. This crew (3) is fantastic and positive they're one of my favorite. Best of luck To go back to Nahoa soon as possible.
great boat! A lot of people watching this will think they can go grab a 22' and get everything you have but that's kind of a rare bird. I have a 22' South Coast but it has a swing keel so i have a keel trunk inside the cabin and could not stand up inside even without the trunk. No bulkhead door separating the v birth but my birth is full width so I could cuddle if needed. No separate head either, just the porta potty with the issues you pointed out and no inboard engine either. The trade off I can live with is that the boat only draws about 4" with the keel up and she sits low on the trailer so is also comfortable as a camper. If you're looking for a boat you can camp on like this one, be prepared to add about four foot to get all these amenities.
that door was genius planning. this gave me hope I may realize my lifelong dream of owning a boat before lupus takes me out completely. Just giving me that hope is everything, you just have no idea how grateful I am
I started following you when you were in Indonesia but I'm loving the "new" boat. I grew up in the Skagit Valley, kayaked around Quadra Island, and learned to solo canoe doing the Powell Forest Canoe Route so your channel is a bit of old home week for me. Love watching your transition to small! Looks like it would be an ideal craft for the Great Loop.
really remarkable little cruiser! I had no idea they allowed so much functionality on board. this is encouraging for me as I live in south FL and a pocket cruiser may be just the thing (that I could reasonably expect to afford in my lifetime) to explore the nearby keys. great vid!

Braaaavo!!! I’ve watched a multitudinous amount of boat walkthroughs over the last few years. And even though that’s, by far, the smallest of all those boats...you two just made that tour the best one I’ve seen yet!! ☝️
You have officially moved your adventure to another level. Please keep embracing #tinyboat life: laughs, tears and all! TH-cam has way too many decadent catamaran cruisers as it is! Happily watching you from approximately one degree south in Mystery Bay WA.
When I eventually buy a yacht it’s gonna be bigger than that Having said that it puts into perspective the fact That it doesn’t have to be massive , just well planned You look like your having fun making this and I certainly am watching x
Your boat made me happy! So small and yet so much space. Less is more and smaller is bigger haha! It was really just 4000 dollars? Nice. I'm still on my motorcycle now. In a not too long time I will walk the world on foot. Such a sailboat is also quite appealing to me. I already have the sailing license for the inland trip, now I will still issue the certificate for all seven oceans. Who knows if I will one day sail a small sailboat around the seas ...
What a double sized breath of fresh air from an awesome crew on a pint sized yacht!!! I was debating whether 36ft was big enough and was contemplating jumping up to 40ft...you guys have saved me a bucket load of money!! Thanks
Ok, that’s gotta be the coolest 22 I have seen. What a great pocket cruiser, thanks for the tour! Having had C22’s and an O’Day 23 this is so chocked full of usefulness, and space. Love it
I only clicked this video because I live on a 20ft boat right now. Its 7 months by now. Time flies... I live here alone and I have to say; You boat is so much better designed than mine. Surprised how smart everything is, it used every little nook and squeezes everything in. Its really great. Maybe the 2ft make the big difference? Unfortunately there no way that anyone can sleep in the quarter berths (unless theyre very tiny people or children). My hips dont fit sideways so the only way I could possibly sleep in it is on my back. Never understood why they didnt make it a little deeper so a human being can fit inside! It annoys me a little how they cut the interior. If you want to look it up: It is a signet 20 by hurley. The idea was to get the boat and flip it so I can buy a proper one and make the transition from living in tents and sleeping on the couches of people. Then covid19 struck and I couldnt risk anything and was very happy about having a little home. In the end it is better than a tent. And a big plus is that I can leave my stuff on it contrary to before where I always had to carry my backpack with me. You cant just leave that laying around anywhere. Someone might nick your stuff.. But yes. Sorry if I made this all about me. Your boat is very beautiful and very sufficient. Only thing I see is that you might have problems cooking on that stovetop as its just a flat surface and not gyroscopic. Stuff might slide off.
Bought my own Cirrus 22 now. Haha. Funny thing is I didnt specifically looked for it and yet ended up with one. I steal a few of the things from this video though
Here in Massachusetts there was a local story that mentioned because of Covid-19 and because people can't travel everyone went out and bought a boat so boats and slips and moorings are hard to come by. Evidently there is also a shortage of bicycles.
@@DFX2KX I have an old schwinn mountain bike that's in good shape but the front fork has shocks built in and they are shot. I don't know if I can get replacements. I ended up looking at the electric conversion kits on amazon. I did not know they had gas conversion kits too. With the shortage of gas maybe I should buy one.
@@tmc200527 the easiest way to tell if you've got an easily replaceable fork on a bike is to look at the riser, the part that the handle bars are attached to. If it has a pair of allen bolts opposite the bars, then it's a 'straight tube' stem and replacements are reasonably easy to come by, if it just has a single bolt at the top, it's a 'quill stem' and there's basically nothing out there. so it depends on just how old that Scwinn is, and what price tier it was made for.
She's a sweet sweet vessel. I own an Albin 25 Deluxe motor sailor built in Sweden in 1977. Blessings to you and yours coming at you from Southern Oregon
Nice looking boat! I own a Dufour T7, 21 feet, and it's trailer that allows me to set sails anywhere in Europe in just one or two days drive on motorway. Plus, boat sits in my garden, I pay no mooring nor marina, it doesn't get covered with marine growth or birds dejections like it would if in an harbour. Besides, I can work on it, sleep on it, dream on it, right in front of my home! And remember: little boat, little expenses, low maintenance costs... but big adventures!
wow, love the videos! I can't imagine how tough it is what your going threw essip. with a new born.....as soon as you guys get a green light go get back on that cat! One thing you guys didn't mention is...him being 6'4....I can't imagine there being much for "adult" activity.... Wish you guys lots of luck, keep them posting I always give a thumbs up! Aloha -Rob
What a nice little beauty. :) My friend and I just bought one yesterday...4500 Dkr that's about 622 $ or 523 £. Even though it is laughable cheap it's not a wreck. In fact, she's in pretty good condition. The original engine has been serviced 2 years ago. It will take some hours and some elbow grease to shine her up but we look forward to sailing next season.
Been watching sailing channels for years, started sailing lessons, but I'm 6'6 tall, and concerned about affordable boats I can stand up in when I go to buy
I'm 6'4" and we bought a Tanzer 26. The galley is right in front of the companionway, so while cooking you can stand fully. The head has it's own separate area and sleeping is no problem. Works really well for us.
I'm amazed that your boat still floats. We had a Cirrus in 1971-4 but nowhere near that level of equipment. It was a lovely boat but our children got too big and we upsized. I had every confidence in it and it sailed superbly, being very steady on the helm and faster than most boats up to 24' at the time, but it was the internal space that I most remember.
Look forward to seeing the coastline as you guys head out. Love the videos! I’m currently about 7 years into owning a 27 ft boat, along with my wife and kids, we converted it for coastal cruising in California. Works pretty well now with solar arch and dinghy davits, extra tankage auto pilot, chart plotter and refrigeration- even adding radar this year after getting stuck off shore in a fog bank recently. Still looking for a bigger boat though...
Sarcastic overtones aside .... it may be small as a live aboard but for some of us that is what we can afford to sail. It would be nice to see you take her out and film some sailing. There are not a lot of channels that show small boat sailing that us mere mortals can relate to. I have a 26 ft now which is big enough for a week but started in a 22ft and she was lovely. I can't wait to see where you take her.
I have really been surprised by just how much more a 30’ boat costs over a 22’Er... I am hoping to one day sail the Caribbean on my own sail boat. Best wishes to you both and congratulations on the new baby, what a cutie 😄
I thought you were talking about the wife for a second lol. She’s a keeper if she’ll deal with living on a weekender and they aren’t pulling each others hair out
Been enjoying following your lives and been happy you added a Family Member. Living on such a small boat may be short lived leaving you begging to get back to the Catamaran. How soon can you go back? I’d probably find a way to go back tomorrow.
Looking forward to seeing what life is like on board when you invite a patreon or two to spend a few weeks really getting to know you in that tiny ship.
I'm looking into doing starting the liveaboard lifestyle. I've never sailed a day in my life, but I'm just looking for a cheap way to live for a few more years, then who knows? I might take this show on the road! Most people act like anything under 30 feet is too small. I'm wanting 25, probably even just 22 feet. You two give me confidence!
I agree! I'm planning on a liveaboard lifestyle soon. I keep thinking I need a 30 footer. However, I think I can accomplish it with a 25 footer just fine. I see many nice ones in very good condition. From what I'm learning, there is also a big difference with repairs and parts when you need to do so. Also, slips are cheaper. A lot of positives all around. 🤔
I just stumbled across your channel and would like to say how refreshing it is to see a 'modest' affordable yacht instead of these floating gin palaces you often see from the likes of SLVB etc. We have lots of these old Westerly's in the UK and they continue to provide folk with a reasonably affordable way of getting on the water. You do need to check for osmosis on them tho around the keels. Otherwise they are bullet proof. All the very best!
So fun! My next door slip neighbor in SF Bay had that exact make and model boat. He was about 5 foot 3 and his wife was shorter. They sailed it everywhere. Even to Mexico and trucked it back. I’m skunk holing around again in San Juan’s. Stupid COVID. I want to go to Sydney and then the Gulfs. You guys are amazing! And Willa is precious. Have fun Cheers!
The Leisure 22 and 23 are also well made. One sailed from Norway to Australia. He sold his Maxi 95 and bought a Leisure. I myself started with small boats, bought bigger and bigger but now back on a small boat after 65 years. Easy to handle, maintain and i use it much more.
I'm watching near the end where he has that handle for the roller on the sails and he's just standing there with it in his hand while explaining other things and my thought was, "if you drop that handle in the water..." I was getting off my boat when I first moved aboard and my one little dog was still trying to get used to the change of stepping onto a rocking boat...and I had my car keys in my hand...and then the dog wiggled, the keys dropped and I watched helplessly as they disappeared beneath the water - about 25 feet of water. Luckily my daughter was not too far away and she had my spare set. That is the day I learned to use a stretchy wristlet attached to keys, with ANY small thing that might end up disappearing beneath the water! Just sharing...for what it's worth!
I am 75, I have lived aboard 2 other times, first a 24 foot double end sail boat in San Diego in the 80's, then a 36 foot houseboat in the 90's and now, still spry, I just popped for a 24 foot Century Antigua cruiser. We should do an experiment/side channel… have me live in that boat since you have a bigger one now. I could start my cruising dream with my 7yr old daughter but….. the catch!!
I would film my journey my passages all my learning how to sail ect.. and it will be a sister channel to yours and it’ll be you helping me on my journey to do what you’ve inspired me to try and make my dream a reality!? ☺️
Going from your amazing expensive boat to this WHILE HAVING A KID you guys are amazing such a great mindset on the both of you
That was fun.
So refreshing, no sign of boat snobs here! You win my subscription .... 😊👍
With positivity in every way The Lady can Say whatever She likes 😊😊😊😊
It's gratifying to see that a happy family doesn't let their joy and pride depend on how many feet long their boat is. Very likeable couple !
I’m an old dude named Jackson - X California surfer, army deep-sea & scuba diver, Vietnam vet, X harbor patrolman in Newport Beach in Dana point. Thanks for making my Internet time so fun. Good luck in your travels

Good for you guys showing people that you don’t have to spend a fortune to sail. 🤙🏼
This really helps the original owner to upsell the boat ... 👍👍👍 ...
That’s a nice little sailboat. Amazing what you can do. Well organized. Thanks for the nice video
really remarkable little cruiser! I had no idea they allowed so much functionality on board. this is encouraging for me as I live in south FL and a pocket cruiser may be just the thing (that I could reasonably expect to afford in my lifetime) to explore the nearby keys. great vid!
I love that you named your daughter Willow!! (One of my favorite movies!)
I am amazed at the thought and work that's gone into this boat, seriously impressive and a joy to see...
You two are amazing, and your daughter is a beautiful little angel, God gives us life to live and enjoy, and you two seem to find the little things to enjoy, always hold onto each other, and let the love that is so obvious between you two grow. Life will change for you , but hang onto the memories, they will nourish your souls in hard times. May the Lord Jesus Bless you both and that sweet little Gift from God.
I was looking at buying a 31 foot boat for a liveaboard and thought it was small! You guys make living in a small boat into an art form! Thats amazing
I sold my 35 feet Colvic Liberator , changed to a Contest 29 , changed again to a Adagio 27 ( same sailboat hull as Allegro 27) , now once again downsized to a Maxi 68 ( 22 feet " for 300 euro. In two weeks i will leaving Sweden and try to reach the med. ( I live in Barcelona ) The maxi is my boat number 45 in my life ,, and i am getting 72 this year .Have a nice summer ! PS so far i only had 2 wifes !
@@noasailing27feet That’s amazing.
I had an Maxi 84 I just sold and bought an Alo 28, an Norwegian built boat from 76, Its an interesting boat, sort of like a 29 foot long Albin Vega with skeg hung rudder and torpedo fin keel.
Just returned from a 6 day trip in outer oslo fjord in rough weather and boat sails better than I expected.
I am not living in it so it’s a perfect boat for me and my girlfriend.

Thanks, I was almost going to give up on my dad's westerly nomad that i have taken on as a project, it has sat for 11 years and no one has even been in it since it came home from the water. I have about 25 quid left and 3 friends with no boat experience whatsoever to get it sailing in the next month and a half. However this has shown me what potential the tiny wee boat in the garden might have. 🥰
I LOVE IT! That little crib area for the baby is so perfect and cute!

American boater: "Hold my beer"
Hah, thats good.
Well, you're not entirely wrong. Many of us are pyromaniacs, myself included. Doesn't take much to get our attention when the topic involves something going "BOOM"!

I lost track of which is cooler, your little boat, or the three of you! That was awesome! Thank you! :)
Braaaavo!!! I’ve watched a multitudinous amount of boat walkthroughs over the last few years. And even though that’s, by far, the smallest of all those boats...you two just made that tour the best one I’ve seen yet!! ☝️
Congratulations on Willow! Such a beautiful baby girl. That food hammock in Ben's bed could be a baby Hammock lol.
“...after six beers, you’re not going to be caring so much.” Love you guys!❤️

You have officially moved your adventure to another level. Please keep embracing #tinyboat life: laughs, tears and all! TH-cam has way too many decadent catamaran cruisers as it is! Happily watching you from approximately one degree south in Mystery Bay WA.
When I eventually buy a yacht it’s gonna be bigger than that
Having said that it puts into perspective the fact
That it doesn’t have to be massive , just well planned
You look like your having fun making this and I certainly am watching x
Your boat made me happy! So small and yet so much space. Less is more and smaller is bigger haha! It was really just 4000 dollars? Nice. I'm still on my motorcycle now. In a not too long time I will walk the world on foot. Such a sailboat is also quite appealing to me. I already have the sailing license for the inland trip, now I will still issue the certificate for all seven oceans. Who knows if I will one day sail a small sailboat around the seas ...
No matter what you guys are doing, sailing across the world or touring a 22’ boat, you will always be entertaining!
the "pot cabinet" has an entirely different function in the Caribbean

What a double sized breath of fresh air from an awesome crew on a pint sized yacht!!!
I was debating whether 36ft was big enough and was contemplating jumping up to 40ft...you guys have saved me a bucket load of money!!

Evidently there is also a shortage of bicycles.
yeah, I got my bike just before the pandemic wiped out stock and sent prices to the moon, that's only just starting to slightly recover.
That is exactly what I need to do the great loop before I get a larger boat to play in the Caribbean.
What a great boat!
OMGoodness what a beautiful baby. She's gorgeous. :)
She's a sweet sweet vessel. I own an Albin 25 Deluxe motor sailor built in Sweden in 1977. Blessings to you and yours coming at you from Southern Oregon
15:03 He called lines 'ropes', get 'em boys!
That's right, only one 'rope' on a boat , and that is on the bell! :-)
@@simonmaton Nope. There is usually many ropes, or should be. Any rope that is not being utilized is a rope. I personally carry some spare rope.

The dane Svend Billesbølle sailed around the world twice. First in a 23 foot boat and second time in a 18 foot Lynæs .
He wrote 3 books about it
Cool boat, I didn't know Westerly made one that small. And, that baby is gorgeous!
The wife’s personality 😂😂 I love it, great video 💗
My friend and I just bought one yesterday...4500 Dkr that's about 622 $ or 523 £.
@cheap cigs WTF about your Islander 35 , off topic !
OMG...I LOVE THIS SAILBOAT! Perfect size, and extremely spacious (storage wise).
Fantastic little boat. I could see some cockpit side mounted flip up panels would be enough to power all ur stuff
You two are the BEST!!!!!
What? New parents? Fuck, entertain not piss on...
Andrew Smith piss on? They are the best!! Are you mental
I have really been surprised by just how much more a 30’ boat costs over a 22’Er... I am hoping to one day sail the Caribbean on my own sail boat. Best wishes to you both and congratulations on the new baby, what a cutie 😄
I'm debating getting a 25 foot Catalina. I plan on living aboard. Therefore, I'm researching all possibilities.
When you’re done with her, can I come up and buy her from you? Such a cool small boat. I am in Tacoma, so not too far away.
You could probably get the boat!
I thought you were talking about the wife for a second lol. She’s a keeper if she’ll deal with living on a weekender and they aren’t pulling each others hair out
Dam I wanted it XD
OMG.......from what your used to to this......your mind will explode.....good luck
Keep laughing, looking forward to your travels...😂🤣😂⛵️❤️🦄

Yours is bordering on huge
I just stumbled across your channel and would like to say how refreshing it is to see a 'modest' affordable yacht instead of these floating gin palaces you often see from the likes of SLVB etc. We have lots of these old Westerly's in the UK and they continue to provide folk with a reasonably affordable way of getting on the water. You do need to check for osmosis on them tho around the keels. Otherwise they are bullet proof. All the very best!
$4000? That was a steal, ill give you $7000 today😎
i want this compact boat so bad...i love it.
The big clue of this short sized boat is the height of it's hulk, why you can stand inside, have a lot of room and is fully equiped.
The Leisure 22 and 23 are also well made. One sailed from Norway to Australia. He sold his Maxi 95 and bought a Leisure. I myself started with small boats, bought bigger and bigger but now back on a small boat after 65 years. Easy to handle, maintain and i use it much more.
Great tour and I'm glad you're 'living up to the challenge'. 😉
"Imma do whatever I want, Im the Captain" Alright Cpt. Ahab hahahahah
For now ...
