Same. I dont know much about the skill itself but when I learn it was a built device I'm much less impressed. Then again I'm a DnD player who always plays Bard/Rogues who use card tricks to make money. So I'm ignorantly biased.
@@Okuri_Inu_Comic The only thing that sorta gives it away is you can see the white marks on his palms where he was concealing the coins, although it doesn't really because obviously that's where he was hiding them.
I have met a ton of magicians over the years and seen a ton of tricks and shows and whatnot, from audience, tech and backstage perspectives. I would consider myself having some insight knowledge in the business trade of magicians. And what I can say is that, even though this guy is great at producing coins, his coin vanishes are out of this world. They are just the most impressive moves I have ever seen - by far! Such a great routine and, for sure, an inspiration for others to follow. Well done sir!
Jason, you are the most funny unfunny person ever. Please take this as a compliment! Btw, thanks for all of your fun videos while we're largely stuck at home.
To exaggerate: If a magician puts his hands behind his back and places a coin in one hand, then brings his hands forward and asks "where is the coin?" it's a 50:50 chance. If Pen & Teller know the technique they cant be fooled for loosing sight of where the coin is, surly?
And that is part of the reason the Samari of Magic managed to fool then with a Coin Matrix routine, because P&T lost track of things about 3/4 of the way through.
I have always had some issues with the criteria for winning on fool us. It leans toward mind games and red herrings rather than skill and quality of the magic. And there is some subjective room on how well they understand what happened. For one example, if a trick is executed that has 3 possible methods, it could fall to guesswork to determine the method chosen. It boils down to a competition between Penn and Teller and the guests. The qualities, and showmanship of the magic, can be tertiary to winning that competition. Of course professional magicians are going to be wanting to put on a good show anyway. Now that I think about it, I'm wondering what the technical definition they use on what is a magic trick.
@@stevewebber707 Many of us do not recognize coins as magic, but as juggling. Penn probably belongs to our group, so he doesn't care which of the three techniques was used and won't pass the trophy. However, where magic is applied, Penn has to determine which technique it is. In this case, the trophy is handed over for a bad estimate of the technique, even though the principle is well known. In essence, magic competes for whether or not Penn believes a fake switch.
Giacomo is a legend in the "underground" coin magic world. I'm surprised that he did this routine though, because he does things and routines that fool most knowledgeable coin magicians. Great video Jason! Man I love your channel.
thank you...your reveal vids are hands down the best on youtube..you should have millions of views,,,what a pleasure your videos are to watch..and I actually learn something w each one I watch...thank you again VERY much.
I absolutely love watching a routine like this where in principle I know what he’s doing but I can’t follow it and he does it soooooo well. The pure skill is even cooler than not knowing at all what is going on
Hey Jason I think ofcourse Penn and Teller knew what the magician's doing. They show that "YOU ARE FOOLING ME" face as a reward to the italian magician. 😊
This man is a grand master magician who has honed his skills for decades and his style of magic is mainly the classic coin method, and true to form that is all P&T had to say is that they know how coin magic is done and he did not fool them.
That is the best slight of hand coin routine I have ever seen....period. And to it right under the nose of P&T takes it to whole other level....rEspect.
@superHAPPYrocks Seasoned performers gotta have a thick skin. Even Penn and Teller went through a season of hell and failure on the way to the top. Jason knows we love him.
one of your best videos, that included magic, a bit about your travels, and some really good sleight of hand magic.... This guy is super talented and clearly has some super human gift like Uri Geller , or something... Thanks for the Magic Jason
Anybody think that Jason's reactions help them appreciate this magic trick more? Like if I saw this guy randomly, I would be like 'that's pretty cool', but after hearing Jason's explanation of the effort and artistry involved, I'm truly impressed! Also, anyone else catch the lipbite at 5:34? I guess she was 'impressed' with what his fingers could do! 😂
Oh man - in Florence they have this great bar in the small tower at an edge of the ancient city wall - it was my favorite place to go to at the end of the day. Really cozy and with great drinks. Memories.
I’ve been watching your channel for a while, and I have to say I am hooked. You hint certain methods without blatantly saying how the trick is done. You are also very articulate. You seem like a quirky guy who is not trying to be a “TH-camr” by overly expressing yourself, but just keeping it real. Keep up the great work! You are almost at the 50K milestone!
Every once in a while the camera catches something he is trying to hide, but I think if you were sitting in Penn & Teller's seats, you'd never see anything he did. It's a beautiful routine and very skillful.
Thx for your exceptional work. .. and yes, your definition of the rules would fit for coin magic perfectly - Penn and Teller definitely lost track several times - what a slick performance that was.
I love coin magic, especially when the guy is this good. He was only there to promote his book, but I would imagine that he will sell a good number of these books, as good as he is.
I have been doing that rubber band trick for a while but loved it set up it was so clean even knowing how the trick works I still didn't catch the set up
His “P” skills are by far the best I’ve ever seen ! Amazingly fast and accurate, resulting in a “vanish”. That “wash”, seriously ?? Nice ! Beautiful routine and thanks for the great content ! What I love about Jadon, unlike others, he is very complementary of skilled performers. Jason doesn’t try to flaunt his “I know how he did it” prowess. Jason is respectful of the skill and work of others and shows it. That’s what sets Jason apart and shows he’s a true professional. Much respect Jason ! 🎭
I fully agree with you that when i magician only uses sleight of hand moves on P&T, other rules should apply for them to be fooled. Otherwise they shouldn´t have these magicians on the show. That aside, OMG! He was amazing! Perfectly presented standing up, sleeves rolled up high, no other obvious misdirection other strange props like suspicious tables, clothing or "wands" that he can use. Even the cameras sometimes filmed a bit from behind showing the inside of his hands. Just straight up pure skills! For me, this is really the crème de la crème of magic performances! I want to see more of his magic! And yeah, your rubber band trick was also nice.. ;) Perhaps that would have fooled P&T. ;)
Great video! I’ve got a brand new nephew recently and this channel has given me the idea to learn a few card tricks and some simple mechanics in order to fully amaze him (hopefully) in the future. I’ve been holding a deck of cards the last few days trying to split the deck with one hand in order to gain some dexterity before I try something low tier impressive. I will soon dive into the tutorials on this channel. Lol thanks👍🏽
For the very young, cards can be confusing. Definitely enjoy and start learning cards, but I would suggest some more visual effects for your new friend. Grab a thumb-tip and some sponge balls and maybe practice cups and balls with everyday items. Congrats and welcome to the party!
The first thing I thought when he brought out the black hole was David Roth, as he had a similar premise years ago. An incredible talent to CP 4 coins at a time (and that fast). I went back and there was a camera cut just before the black coins appeared.
When u said that the ''rule should have been that if u lost track along the way they should have considered it to be fooling". Well there was this coin Magician called Eric Mead who made said this in his presentation and said that I should fool u if u r not able to follow my moves and I think that since then they might have actually made that the rule for coin Magician cuz i remember David Roth fooled the as well.
basically a great commercial for his book which I now want. lol. I figure he knew Penn and Teller could figure it out, but genius to display it on a national stage just one month after writing his book.

He used basic palms, like classic, finger and one that isn't used much but is explained in Henry Hays Amateur Magicians Handbook is called the Edge Palm. Which is different from the one most people think of when speaking of the 'edge palm'. As Penn said, they lost track of things somewhere along the way during Ryan's performance. This time, they were able to follow where everything was going, but I lost track. :P The coin drop from the black disk apparently so far from his fingers got me.
Ryan Hayashi was the samauri sword guy when he did coins he won them over on his bravado performance but it was still classic coin magic which P&T know so it now becomes double standards some you win some you lose.

Incredible performance. (Giacomo is pronounced "Jack-o-mo" with primary emphasis on the first syllable and secondary on the third.)

If you just watch closely at normal speed it can be seen. The very first "vanish" you see where the coin goes. The awkward hand position gives it away also. I'm surprised he built a routine that does the move over and over. However, the hand wash move was great!
