RYAN HAYASHI on Penn & Teller FOOL US - Complete Performance With EPIC EMOTIONAL ENDING

  • MESSAGE FROM RYAN HAYASHI TO THE VIEWERS: Ryan Hayashi, The Samurai Madman and European Champion of Magic, fools Penn & Teller with his award-winning Ultimate Matrix coin act. Damn, this sounds epic. Well actually, it was. I AM Ryan Hayashi, this is my TH-cam channel, and I am writing about myself. This was one of the most epic and emotional moments of my life. It was a very special performance for me, showing magic to two of my heroes in magic. I was staring them in the eyes and performing for them the whole time, and I was nearly in tears walking off that stage. When they found me backstage after the show and gave me more kind words, I lost my mind. I'm normally a solid performer, but looking at this video, my precision, stage presence and comedic timing were off the chart! I hope you enjoy watching this performance as much as I do. This aired on July 9, 2018 on Season 5 of Fool Us. Ryan Hayashi

      Big coins were in the box the entire time. The coins weren't under tha cards.. I caught it at regular speed. But I had the advantage seeing it more closer than Penn& Teller

    • @DL-kc8fc
      @DL-kc8fc 4 ปีที่แล้ว +27

      @@mcham0846 :) The big coins were under two cards on the deck of cards in preparation. They were hollow and inserted. If the magician turned the big coins, they would be missing the bottom. Also, I did not use slow-motion footage and watched the video normally, like all other videos. I enjoyed the magician's art because his strategy of performing a long series of tricks did not allow focusing on a particular trick. Of course, I saw a few coins falling over the edge of the table and the hand just simulates holding a coin, but somehow it has to be done when the supernatural does not exist and it did not spoil my positive impression at all. He is just a great manipulator and he deserves a trophy.

      *They knew how he did it,* it a very common trick, but rarely done, because it's a challenge to learn. Most magic shops show you a dumbed down version of it that you can buy for a few bucks. *They gave it to him because his technique is epic.* Penn has explained in the past that it isn't always about "fooling" them per se, it's about impressing them and that was very impressive.

      @@paulborst4724 True. Magic isn't always so much about hiding the secret to how he did it. It's about entertaining, putting on a show, and leaving an impression. I don't actually know how he did it ( I'm not a magician ) but I'm sure if Penn and Teller saw it again and was looking for it, they could figure out how he did it. However, it doesn't matter if they could find the secret or not. The big thing is he was able to entertain them and impress them the way Penn and Teller did to him many years ago. If there was an act worthy of getting a trophy for showmanship and skill, this would be it.

      @@esta7763 I watched this video one time and, after having seen so many of these fool us things on youtube i could easily see every single move he made, except for maybe two.
      But again, that isn't the point. it was a struggle to keep up with each hand because when one is doing something the other also is, and... yeah. hell of a display of the mastery of what one can do if they dedicate themselves to something, what an excellent display of skill. ..... The thing that really gets me.... and I kind of alluded to this before, is that I was following his moves, and ... if you watch the video, each fairly obvious, but.... to see them all at once... you cannot keep up. That's the important thing, you might catch one move, but dude is already half way into another and then suddenly a coin appears out of nowhere that YOU CANNOT KEEP UP WITH. Maybe the absolute masters of the craft can look at this and say something different, but to the average person, this one is a knockout for sure.

      @@paulborst4724 the way I think of it is: if after watching the act, Penn and Teller cannot replicate it, it’s deserving of the trophy. I don’t think Penn was lying. I genuinely believe he gave up trying to figure it out. Obviously, they know the essentials of the trick. That’s probably true of every act they watch. They’ve admitted to giving out Fooler trophies based on a single part of the act they couldn’t figure out.

But he also definitely takes coins from under the table, and also picks up cards along with coins, and moves them seamlessly through his fingers. Same with the big coins he takes out of the deck of cards, and from under the table. I suppose a combo of magnetism and pure, incredible slight of hand, is possible.
