    • @friedsensei
      @friedsensei หลายเดือนก่อน

      The video is assuming the specific contortion involved because we will never truly know. But they spin the tables to show it isn't simple mirrors, and he isn't dead. So even if his legs go down inside the table legs, or he is fully flattened out like the double, we do know for sure there is some kinda contortion involved.
      Maybe he put his legs in a cast for weeks or months and allowed them to atrophy before touring this trick, the possibilities are endless with Copperfield but it is almost definitely a physical feat of some kind and not a clever illusion that would blow our minds all these years later.

    • @zemerick
      @zemerick 7 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      If you didn't figure it out by now, it's because the table is way thicker in the middle. Perspective hides a lot of this thickness. It's why the table is like 5 feet deep, when it only needs to be around 2-3. If you pause @17:35 you can see it's actually very thick going up, but only in the middle. Then again @17:50 you can see there's an extra box underneath as well. Finally, his shirt is hanging down. If you look at his posture, you can see his chest is actually above the table. It's a game of inches, but he has a lot of them.

      That's why magicians network among each other because no one person could've think about making these tricks by themselves. It's also taboo to reveal tricks because it made creating new tricks much harder

    • @klausstock8020
      @klausstock8020 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Jean-Eugène Robert-Houdin invented the trick with the magnet around 1840. The story is that he showed this trick in Algeria in 1856, where a strong Algerian rebel could not lift the box. Robert-Houdin however could. Robert-Houdin also did the routine of catching a bullet with his teeth, which convinced the Algerians that their rebellion against the magically superior French was bad idea, this preventing a war. Nowadays, quite a few magic supply experts build and sell such boxes (and who still pretend that the principle of operation is a secret).
      Of course, in the 1840s, the electromagnet (invented just a some years ago in 1825) was under the floor, not in the box.
      Quite a few of the tricks explained on this channel are more than 100 years old. In another video, the "East Indian Needle Trick" is explained (performer swallows three threads of different color and then a needle, a member of the audience choses a color and the performer produces the needle from his mouth, with the correct thread in the needle's eye). That trick is over 200 years old, and when Harry Houdini (real name Erik Weisz, his stage name was a homage to Robert-Houdin) performed his variations, it was already 80 years old.
      Harry Houdini had also walked through walls, but details were different from Copperfield's version (Houdini had no stairs to hide in).
      Regardless - what turns the _tricks_ into _magic_ is the presentation. You simply don't envision a young lady commanding around assistants like you'd expect from David Copperfield. And she's not just pulling off a routine, she made it clear that the audience (and especially Simon) are a valued part of the performance. I found this performance much nicer than Copperfield's trick. Although Copperfield connects to the audience by making them fear for his life, it's still all centered around him.

      It's invisible wire. What do you mean, you've never seen any? 😁

    • @klausstock8020
      @klausstock8020 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Piano wire. You can't see it from afar, and a 1080 HD camera can't see it even reasonably close up. And, in a camera, blue is noisier than other colors, further obscuring the minimal dimming effect the wire has on just a few pixels.
      1.22mm piano wire can carry 350kg (but check the parallelogram of force; the wire needs to carry much more than the performers weight!). In the closest shot, I estimate that a 1080 camera could see objects with a size of 2mm.

    For the magic square trick, when she asked him to think of a number between 25 and 100, I picked 26!
    I suspect that whenever she does this trick, 26 would be chosen slightly more often than other numbers because of the range she offers. When she says the number 25, your mind subconciously suggests the next number in sequence.
    Not for everybody, but it certainly seemed to work that way for me and Penn.

    Hey Irehman7, This is the Mac Daddy of all your FANTASTIC videos. This is your ALL-STAR video, man .
    Great work, as always, but this is much more enjoyable and more amazing.
    I saw Copperfield around 2000. He did the buzz saw illusion in this show. Although I had a good suspicion that an assistant was being used, I really liked that illusion.
    It was built very well, and it almost had me fooled, but i knew better, lol.
    But, it was still very impressive, Copperfield style.
    Copperfield flew above the stage in that show. Im guessing that he did it closely related to your explanation in this video of the magician in the air?
    I would love to know how he and that young man vanished above the audience and went to Hawaii?
    I realize that was pre recorded.
    I always wanted to know how the magic square was done.
    I dont get along with mathematics, lol.
    I saw a youtube video of a guy teaching it.
    I was still confused, but your explanation was easy to follow and understand. Thanks.
    I also wanted to know how the heavy box trick was done. Thank you.
    Does IZZY still perform magic?
    I have not heard her name for awhile?
    Take care.

      @@irehman7 Me neither. But in the TV series "The Lost World", episode "A Man of Vision", Nick Pendragon plays a cannibal chief. Does cannibalism pass as "passing a human though a human"? In any case, the protagonists manage to escape, before passing though the gastric tract.
      The only other trick which comes to mind is how a magician hides body parts inside an assistant. But TH-cam doesn't allow these kinds of acts.

    I appreciate your channel. Regarding Trick 1 and the use of the card ejector, I disagree that an offstage assistant is used to press the transmitter remote. In the video you can see that the magician is doing something with his right hand. It is my suspicion that the magician has the remote hidden in his left sleeve. It appears that he is pressing the button with his right hand. This action is somewhat camouflaged by the position of his left arm and the cards held in his left hand.

    For the first time, I don't agree with all of the explanations. In trick 10, the wires would have been a standard two-wire waist stunt harness, like circus training 101. They would come from overhead and would perfectly explain all the flying and better explains when the hoop was passed to "show no wires". You can see the harness attachment points at :56 There is an overhead lateral rolling suspension trolley that the harness wires suspend from that explains the stage right-left movement and hanging angles. This is like youth music theater doing Peter Pan easy. Horizontal cables coming from stage right/left would require a huge amount of load tension to lift a grown man and would never offered the speed of movement in the trick. Its why the hoop was necessary, to stop the swinging and swaying of the flying magician on lateral motions.
    Then, Trick 2, the fish tank. I think there was an internally angled or bent sheet of acrylic that made the inner tank look whole and 'bubbly' and full of water, like and angled mirror cube.. The front pane of glass was just a dummy slide pane that had a hole in it and could be brought up when the napkin came out. There was no need for the tape membrane or dual planes if no water was present in the hand insert through the glass. Unfortunately, there isn't enough to go on from this video, but I don't see a wet hand coming out with the necklace.

    • @irehman7
      @irehman7  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      In trick 10, if you watch the original performance, Penn and Teller mentioned that he performed using David Copperfeild's method. David uses this exact method I described. Furthermore that clockwise horizontally body spin doesn't make sense according to your wire structure. The question isn't that " he could still spin with the vertial wiring" but " why does he spin only once and only aftrr his body is lifted horizontally?". If your wiring structure was used they wouldn't ever consider even spinning the body in the first place.

    • @irehman7
      @irehman7  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      For trick 2: They is genuinely water inside, no mirrors etc. See original performance link in description. You can also search on TH-cam Cyril's multiple performance in different occasions you can find no such concept as you are describing. Plus based on your description you are over complicating the method to the point its just impractical and extremely hard to set up.

      @@irehman7 David Copperfield flies with a double array of fine wires that are near to vertical, not near to horizontal (the details can be seen in John Gaughan's patent). To lift somebody with the setup you describe you'd need two thick cables and, as nudsh says, a huge amount of tension.

    • @irehman7
      @irehman7  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      These sort of trick tables often take advantage of perspective by having a thin front edge, but get gradually thicker towards the back, like a wedge shape. The viewers don't notice it because the camera is looking down from a slightly elevated angle. But in this case, there is simply a thicker section directly beneath the box, that you can see in this shot 17:49
      Also, it's possible that the gymnast simply lies flat, putting his legs in the left part of the table, since it doesn't need to seperate after that point, and the box would keep him hidden while he changes position.

And if it were that place just a few minutes before the magician approached them they would 100% know what happened. There must be some other explanation. Some kind of Polaroid camera secretly used by someone close to them perhaps. The pictures aren't from the angle it would be if the magician took the photo.

      In no world is that platform 10 centimeters wide. Secondly, the area right below the platform upon which the magician and assistant are going to hide a portion of their body is color black, so it blends with the dark background and has a bulge right underneath the area near the center of the base, so there's enough room for the assistant and the magician to hide a portion of their body inside it.

    There still seems to be some randomized sequence for solving the magick square. Top left 26-20, the 2nd square down 26-21,the 3rd far right is 26-18 then 2nd from left bottom row is 26-19. There doesn't appear to be a sequenced order to the calculations explained.

    #8. My husband and I are “magicians” (used to be, anyway). Our card is the 5❤. 😊

    At 36:10 it looks like Trigg himself has the transmitter hidden in his left cuff and is pressing it himself.

    He was strung up with thin wires hanging on by the Helicopter 🚁 that was above him. All the ppl there knew but obviously on TV you couldn’t see… No mystery at all🤣

    The sword trick is too dangerous. Accident is always waiting to happen.

    19:16 It had to be something like that because if he was really sliced in half like that, the blade would be a bloody mess and even at the end of the trick there wasn’t a mark on it, the blade is pristine.
