And new tires. New plugs, New oil and coolant. We are not built for the drag race however we did get invited to an event at firebird raceway in AZ. We ran 11.8 with No burn box and on street tires..... I'll be catching up on your content.
The 3-2-1 is the way to go! If I hadn’t gotten such a good deal on my Gen 1 longblock (Gen 2), I woulda done this exact setup with probably milder cams! Nice setup!! 🚀🚀 Car just pulls and puulllllllllssss!
@@jamesedwin9300 Yeah, I’m about to start swapping my Fox on my channel with a Gen 2 with L&M Gen 1 intake cams and timing components so it works with my Gen 1 Control Pack, ported CJ and lots of goodies, but kinda wished I went with the 321 for that added point of compression! 💪🚀
Awesome video. I wondered how this thing was doing. Early on there were concerns about the coolant passages being different with the gen 3 shortblock. This one seems to be doing great 💪
Bad ass car 11.0 is moving I need to get my car to the track I Draggy 11,0 but haven’t proven it yet. Would love to race him pretty much same mods but he has that high compression and 6 speed.
They can be alot faster than you might think with the right setup. You can pull on alot of basic boosted setups I mean like 8--9 psi on 91 octane or something like that you can keep right up with a basic boosted setup no problem like he said he went 11 flat im sure it could go faster too as it is. That is hauling for a fairly basic na setup and 5 liters.
They aren't as fragile as they're made out to be. Do they sometimes have issues? Sure but alot of the issues are factory clutch related and get blamed on the Trans when it isn't the Trans. I've seen them hold up in built na setups and boosted alot more than you'd think considering how "terrible" it supposedly is.
@@boosted9319 do you know if those were the NSR cams? And what were the shift points at? I'm going full send with my Boss, going to 14:1 CR on E85 with the MHS cams, gonna be revving to around 9000 or higher
@ShelbyWithAShelby what manifold are you gonna use to spin it that high? If it's the cj it'll probably limit you at that rpm even ported. They can make good power to 8300-8500 I've been told anything higher than that and the cj will hold it back. I would only spin mine to maybe 82-8300 max but I wouldn't be doing anything that wild like you described just a ported cj and ots cams
@Lil' Ike well, I don't have the Boss anymore, sold it for the GT500, but I was going to use the stock Boss manifold, and port the living hell out of it. Now I'm making 800whp with just a pulley and intake on E85
I'm sure it could prob get into the 10s with just little better da. This is Def a 10 second capable car. It isn't even that wild. They can do great things when done right
@Josh Crow it prob has a 10.80 in it as it sits. I've seen guys get into the 10s with an mt82 similar setup but without the cams or the extra compression I'm sure those cars were lighter I still see a 10.80 in it the way it sits
If you are competitively drag racing at the track and need every last 10th of et then a stalled auto can't be beat. But for something that is mostly a street car if not 100% street car manual all day every day. Not necessarily just daily drivers but any primarily street driven vehicle. If you can drive you'll still be plenty fast and be able to win some races on the street in your typical random street encounter roll race. When you see a fast manual people are much more impressed than with a fast auto anyone can go fast with an automatic. This is my outlook on it. Too many guys go auto that don't drag race at the track competitively just because it might be couple tenths or so quicker and I never understood this. If you can't drive a manual for some reason like an injury or something else that makes manuals not an option that is totally different but the feel of a true 3 pedal manual with an h pattern shifter just cannot be matched by any automatic ever and the fun factor can't match up either. In a typical roll race a well driven manual can keep right up with an equally capable automatic car. Gotta have that driver mod though 💪 This car is totally badass I love the no nonsense approach it looks like a riot to drive. Those 1st gear pulls on drag radials are magical. I gotta get me one of these and build it similar I have a higher power boosted car already. Nothing crazy just a 750 rwhp 07 gt500 with a gen3r swap. I'm all about that 3 pedal game for life.
