The other vans were Italian, they were probably upset that you made pasta like an English person 😂 Great vid, amusing as ever.

As an Italian living in the U.K I sincerely apologise for the noise, however, agree that the pasta making skills are offensive 😂😂! Either way, amazing vid as always!

It’s people like them that end up spoiling it for people like you and I. This is how how these good park ups get spoilt. It’s not just you that has breakdowns, our T5 is poorly at the moment and we can’t seem to get it fixed at the mo which is annoying, can’t get out!!! Great video as always, looking forward to seeing a new van build on the way! Keep the videos coming!

Upgrading to a newer, bigger van is a very sensible idea. People will say you can also get problems with new vans. It's less likely than owning and running an older van. I've owned and run both and for peace of mind its a newer/new van every time. When you're out and about trying to enjoy yourself and have a relaxing time, in the little spare time you have, the last thing you want is spending that time worrying and subsequently getting recovered by the AA!

If ever anyone try’s to get in your van most people react by freezing in fear and staying quiet, I’ve lived on the road a long time the best thing to do is get up make noise most people are trying to steal so once they know your inside they run off.
I’ve become immune to this scenario and I open the door and ask them politely to do one. I’ve had some funny ones but way to long to tell on this.
Great channel. Look at Citroen relays great. And cheap for parts and great to convert.

Hi Shaun. If you are having injections issues, I do strongly advise having all 4 done at the same time. I made the mistake of only having the one done (that had given up) just to back in the garage having another one done two weeks later, and then to top it off, yes two weeks later having the other two done. Cost about £1000 more this way.
And another piece of advice, have the glow plugs done at the same time, way more cost effective.
    Btw great video 👍

A mate has an ex-AAH Pharmaceuticals van, a Jumbo Transit. It's used as a day van/Rally support/tow vehicle. Storage for tools & spares at the back and then double bench seat which folds into a double bed and a kitchen unit/fridge/sink further forward. The van has a few miles on it, but never had to carry much weight.
I would steer clear of Ford Transits though due to their propensity to dissolve.

Have you ever thought about getting wind deflectors for the front windows?, you can have the windows down an inch then while cooking, Sleeping, And no rain can get in.I’ve got them on my camper I sware by them. You can also have your ecoflo solar panels on the roof and have the cable through the window with it up👍🏼

Fit the diesel heater in the van. They are only £120 ish so no issue to get another to fit in new van. You’ll missing out on all that lovely warmth.

    • @LoveSundays
      @LoveSundays  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

The main reason I haven’t fitted it is because I have too much stuff in the van and fitting the heater would not allow me to have anywhere to keep my wetsuits.

another interesting video. I solved the key issue in exactly the same way as you. A spare key that only unlocks and hangs in a small "safe" around my neck when I go into the water.
It's a shame that there are so many loud people in the world. Noise that you can't escape is torture. But unfortunately there are few chances to educate these people. 😢
I wish you much success with your purchase of the new camper.👍👍🙏🙏

What an awesome view to wake up to! I feel your pain re noisy neighbours, I was in Ireland for a month last year and one of my fav spots is a €10 aire on the waterfront at Cobh. My last night there was on my way back to the ferry but there was only one spot left next to a kids playground, no biggie, or so I thought………… 3 am and a load of drunk Irish lads invaded the playground, yelling, screaming, and laughing, it was bedlam. I was so cross but then when I started listening to them they were actually hilarious and, annoyed as I was, I couldn’t help laughing along lol! Sorry your night got interrupted though, it’s no fun hey when you’re woken up from a good van kip!

At the end, with the limp mode with all respect, it’s a Vivaro 🤣 Mine did that 9 months ago, turned it off and on, never done it since. Get the codes read at the garage with a proper reader. I’ve started using premium diesel in mine from Costco and, touch wood, it’s been fine since. My mechanic also recommended running at motorway speed in gear 5 instead of 6 sometimes to get the revs up and clear the Fuel system through. Going into limp mode could be anything so a proper code read should show some history, especially if the glow plug light, service light and spanner came on.

Thanks for explaining about the key issue but I’m not sure that telling the world and his wife that you leave the other main keys in your van is a good idea as if someone recognises you and breaks in and finds the keys what would your insurance company say? Just a thought. Although I understand the need for more space, I do love the simplicity of your van as you make it feel more real for the average person. Don’t ever change as we love you as you are! Happy New Year and fab video as ever, missed you

    • @fjspicer1

@@LoveSundaysHi Shaun good to see you back however having had my car stolen recently trust me it's such a pain in the butt, the sheer inconvenience of not having a vehicle, unless you have a neighbour or a friend who can take you to look at other vehicles even trying to get a replacement becomes a major Endeavour and your insurance cost goes up massively with a new policy.
I fully realise that in Cornwall you might not suffer from the same level of car theft and break-ins that we do in London but having advertised on TH-cam where you keep your keys I would now if I were in your position try and incorporate a small safe box bolted down to the floor of the van which you could keep your keys and maybe mobile phone and wallet in whilst you're out snorkeling. Not only that but if your van did get nicked whilst you're out under the sea, you then have the problem of how do I get back home in a wetsuit with no shoes no phone and no money always better to be safe than sorry after the event mate !!

Hi Shaun, great vlog again mate. having seen the state of your wet socks and knowing some of the places that you like to snorkel, have you ever thought of changing to hard soled ankle wet boots and open backed fins with straps. As a retired commercial diver and diving instructor I've found them to be very good and long lasting if you are clambering across rocks. Hope Kate and the bump are doing well mate. 👍👍🙂

    • @LoveSundays

In my Trafic / Vivaro we fitted the diesel heater under the van under the drivers seat. Theres a great spot up there and if you have a pre 2014 you can tap into the return line of the tank for the fuel. If yours is an early TVP have you done the scuttle panel mod to stop the water getting into the injectors and the blue connector on the 1.9?

Great video Shaun - I do like the idea of getting another van, even from the perspective of continuing to grow the channel I think you could get some great content from the van search/talking about what conversions/modifications you want to do through to showing us you doing it etc... would be a shame to see the back of the OG van though but the last thing you want is more reliability issues creeping in, especially when stealth camping - might not harm to have a different van either if you start to get spotted stealth camping in the same similar areas.

    Still loving your vids.
Don't be fooled that a newer van will be less problematic, your older van seems to just be suffering from general wear and tear of ancillary parts.
I've had a couple of recent issues with my van and had the same thoughts of upgrading but when you do the maths, unless it's something catastrophic it's always cheaper to replace and repair.
I see way more newer vans dead on the side of the road and believe me the repair bill will be way higher.
That said this is my opinion based on my experience.
You do what you feel is best mate and enjoy every minute of it👍
On a different note, with the little one on the way have you considered making provision for a family friendly van?
I have a wife and 2 young kids and my challenge is how to create a usable van for my day to day transport, having 4 seats and still having space to eat, sleep and chill with the 4 of us.
I just about manage this with a Hyundai i800.

Falmouth beach front is always rammed with vans, and has been for a while now, to the point the that locals are complaining and the town council have got involved. Fortunately the tc's are trying to find an alternative to straight up banning overnight stays on the beach front as a way to avoid displacement further into the town.
I just park elsewhere to avoid antagonizing people, but realistically it's those huge campers etc that take the mic a bit that are the problem

Those vans are Italians. For all the reasons your thinking of changing vans, i have a 2017 Renault Master L3 H2 100% stealth campervan which is LHD as driving round EU in RHD with no side windows is well dodgy. I also had a tiny camara fitted in the right side mirror to a screen where my rear view mirror should be. My rear & front camaras also display on this screen and when i reverse it auto switches to rear view only. I have a 12v fiamma ceiling vent which is as good as aircon in the summer. My van has the folding front middle seat for the very reason you explained ie quick exit, and i have a blackout curtain covering the secret doorway. Huge amount of space for all the family. Also i ripped out all the expensive gel battery's lots of wiring, etc, etc and replaced with a Bluetti solar generator, and o have a 600w electric water heater and a full size shower, as i have a mobility issue and i am 6'6" so need lots of space. I park it everywhere inc city centres as its ULEZ6 so no probs just looks like a plumbers van ha ha!!

Hello mate, love the vids, having a few van problems myself at the moment especially with diesel heaters. Have you made sure yours is a 2 kW and they haven’t sent you a 5 kW as that is one of their sneaky tricks as 2 kW heaters are hard to come by also check your settings are set to a 2 kW heater and not a 5 kW as this has been an issue with a few people I’ve spoke to on Facebook.

    • @LoveSundays
      @LoveSundays  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I’ve not installed my diesel heater yet as I’m holding it back for the next van. I’m pretty certain it’s a 2kw though. I got it off Amazon so if it’s wrong Amazon can sort it out

Heck, don't use that combination lock thing again. They are so easy to determine the code off. An experienced "picker" could probably open it in around twice the time it takes to enter the code. I've broken into those I have with just an improvised tool and a minute or two fiddling.

Check your van jewel mass airflow normally blocks air going to your carbs and reduces power. It’s a quick fix around £15-£25

The vans are from Italy. The problem is that the van owners probably don't realise they are causing you a problem because on the continent wild camping in vans is a lot more tolerated than it is here in the UK so there is less need to be stealthy.
