- I’m Embarking on a 6-day, 5-night Van Life Experiment adventure to test my ability to live in my van in the UK. During my Stealth Camping l will be preparing meals in the van, scouting out ideal parking spots, and fully immersing myself in the van life experience.

Im starting van life next month, rented for 6 years and im sick of my landlords surveillance, 2 property inspections per year, he's got the neighbours watching my every movement and he's mentioned me to some of my work colleagues, ive never been late with rent and never caused any issues. Cant wait to feel free

@@nemoscamperadventures7563 yea I'ts his first and only rental property so I can understand he's super focused on it, but he won't take the hints regarding privacy. I've bought the van, it's only a caddy, but I plan to upgrade to a transporter t6 by Christmas once I sell my BMW.

Good for you. ! I too am Ex military and have the same F U attitude to life. Live yours for you not for others. I have recently bought a van and am waiting for it to come back to me from being upgraded and then I will be out and about as much as possible. I enjoy watching your video's as they show things without all the fancy bells and whistles and pretentiousness others seem to think is wanted. Long may they continue. !

I am a military veteran and began vanlife 14 years ago with 3 years in between renting a house where I had a very creepy roommate who was a rude alcoholic. It was a nice home when he was out of town. I have only been asked to leave a spot at night one time in all those years. I have spent many nights in winter temperatures between 24f and 30f. I will not do it under 24f. It's easier to stay warm than it is to cool off when it's over 80f.

I think it’ll get easier each night when you’ve got 20-30 different night locations recce’d and confirmed, and can choose from them rather than having the stress of having to find new unknown spots at short notice.
@@cp4512 yeah 💯 I totally agree. It’s all about learning and this was a very short experiment to see if certain things are possible
Recognised the pier at Clevedon straight away. Also I went to Portishead a couple of weeks back and the harbour there are a few places just to park up.

So early hours from 4/5am I run my commercial cleaning company and day time I mentor children who don’t go to main stream school on an ad hoc basis. I do have a work van but for this video I used the camper for everything to prove it can work

Am enjoying this video. If I was younger I would definately go down this road myself. No responsibilities apart from work etc . My cousin went to University in Bristol . I have passed Bristol but never been there to shop etc. Well you are doing good so far. It’s all about looking after number 1. Vermin are everywhere I must say you are a breath of fresh air with these vlogs. I know of a married couple who sold everything they own and love van life. They bring wherever they go and show people where they go etc. They are American and have been doing this for 7 yrs

Hi, We bought a new transit custom two years ago, as we retired, it's orange, black wheels , black roof and is called Nemo😂. Just returned from our 3rd 3 month trip into Europe 90%+ wild camping, its so much easier over there, nobody minds where park up.
No way lol 😂 yeah the UK are missing a trick when it comes to Camper Vans and Motorhomes, it’s like we are all evil people lol

Two weeks ago I had to go to a different office to work for a couple of days. So took the van, I am not brave enough to stealth camp but one evening I got a campsite for £11.with ehu. I loved being able to jump in the van and totally chill in my happy place.
It’s a different way of life isn’t it, seems more relaxed and less stressed

My 1 st visit too Eilean Donan Castle was 1993 when my son was 2 yrs old...such good memory’s stayed in Dornie village; The Castle is famous for many things but the film ,Highlander with Christopher Lambert & Sean Connery is worth a watch .. memories ahh. 👋🏻🏴

With regards to the speed awareness course….. it is better than getting points on your license…..and, as for me, I did learn something….. unless speed sign posted for a lower speed, where you see a central reservation, the max speed is 70 miles an hour….. previously, I thought all non motorway max speed limits were 60 miles per hour 😄

Yeah, I got caught by a fella hiding in the back of a van on a verge with a speed gun….. I was doing 34 mph in a 30 🙈
Except for a commercial vehicle which is 60mph unless the van is accepted by the DVLA as a campervan.

I used to live in Clevedon for about 12 months. It was a lovely place back then but drove through it not long ago and cannot believe how it's changed, especially the Saltwells

Not for the faint hearted I think peoples hearts have to be in it I think home will always be in the back of my mind I think it could be quite expensive easy option fast food good you have a job rather then back handed jobs great life if you can hack it on the plus side lovely views and the freedom must be wonderful bit more thinking on my part I think 😊 but you go for it and enjoy your life 😊

Who did the interior conversion? Who did your pop top? Where did you buy the van? So many questions but no vlogs of this info which would be great. Found your channel recently, I live in southwest close to Bris, the interior and set up is inspiring and looking for recommendations for interiors etc.

@@nemoscamperadventures7563 no mate.. bought as a day / weekend camper. Changed from an Auto Sleeper Nuevo !, could no longer drive through Bath with the AS due to stealth / emission zone tax - so gone for the smaller van and loving it. Just on the lookout for an awning sides ( Dometic)
Dunno what it is but I prefer sleeping out in the sticks or weekend industrial estate not on a beachfront

Exactly life i realised i want live in camper van go around from place to place in uk and just live a peaceful and quiet life,but sadly got no chance affording camper van new or second hand,even if i sell my car still wont come anywhere close to getting camper van even saving up here and there a month from work wages.

Good for you. Also, ex military and just back from 3 weeks away. My only issue was drying clothes after a wash. It was raining outside, so it made matters worse. I agree about the noise, if others knew you were living there, would it have changed them! No, I doubt it. Love your van layout. The only issue of a small van I can see is the toilet issue.
I have a PortaPotti so not too bad. Are you full time VanLife ?
@nemoscamperadventures7563 No, I have a house (base). I have a Ford Transit Custom also with a porta potti. The down side being it needs emptying every 3 to 4 days. Fine if you're away for a weekend. It can be emptied at home. When away for a week or longer, it requires a stay at a campsite to dispose of the waste. That can be anywhere from £10 to 40. Soon, it mounts up, especially as being married. It's 2 using it, so it gets emptied even quicker.

Was at Clevedon last Autumn in my campervan, it seems to be another town of little to do and mundane lives, i spent an evening at the Wetherspoons which wasn`t a bad one. I`m in the fortunate position of being comfortable enough to return to my home when i need to. But i prefer once or twice a year driving down to Northern Spain and Portugal, where wild camping is more acceptable by their lovely coastlines and beaches and more welcoming people.
Yeah the UK is definitely missing a trick when it comes to allowing Campers and Motorhomes more freedom
Dont know if you can class this as escaping and vanlife, seemed more like a short holiday but interesting all the same 👍

I wasn’t using my phone whilst driving, I have little pull down devices the phone sits in so I just press record and let it roll

Me and my partner left the UK jan 2019, we lived out of a 4x4 for 3.6 years in Australia and currently 2 years into living out of a van in New Zealand 😀.... We still havent returned to tbe UK 😅

I paid of my debt and then was gonna do van life for a year to save and then a nice guy in a defender went into the back of me in queuing traffic on a dual carriageway at 50mph and wrote it off.. I’ve not been able to afford anything else..

Surely you’d get a decent compensation pay out meaning you’ll be able to get a new van plus extra money to spend 🎉
@@claireee6958 I got £195 for my compensation payout.. apparently in July 2021 they changed the rules on motor accident compensation payouts so the max I got was £265 and the lawyers took 25%. It’s not about the payout, it was about I couldn’t buy what I had again with the money they paid out as it wasn’t enough.
