Richard, the reason I "hate" EVs is because I feel bullied & bombarded & they are being forced on us & want us to scrap our beautiful, trustworthy, cheap, old reliable ICE vehicles. I want to drive what suits me & not be forced into buying an EV that I neither want or can afford. Everybody should be able to choose whatever vehicle is best for their own situation. It should be a level playing field without subsidies from our taxes. I am a woman pensioner, bought a diesel MK7 Transit 18 months ago. I had saved up & paid £6,000 & it's mine, no finance. I pay £176 pa insurance, £28 pm veh tax & I recently went to France & on return journey I filled up & drove 376 miles to the ferry & had half a tank left, cost about £50 for the journey only stopped for 10 min. toilet break. I have fitted it out as a day campervan, it has kitchen stuff, paddleboard & wet suit etc & we take the dog & go to the local Devon beaches & beautiful countryside. I just want to be left alone to have the choice to drive what I can afford & what suits me.
No one is being forced to scrap their current car, or buy an EV yet, for a least 10+ years ! By which time the charging infrastructure will be better, cheaper EV's will be available (new and used) and they will have improved. Don't stress about what might happen over a decade away !
I’m glad you’ve taken it back and will now be able to see the difference between when it’s warm vs when it’s cold and the effect it has on range. I’d love a 4S CT. Dealers are now offering new cars with over £20k off, which sounds like a great deal BUT! Yours was for sale for weeks, at a great price and didn’t sell. …which in itself is very off putting

I drive a lfp model 3. Yes it depreciates but suites my lifestyle and effectively pays for itself the more miles you do and saving on fuel, servicing, brakedown. And can still have toys for the weekend that sound great.
It looks like dealers just cant sell them, even when they drop the prices. PCP with the walk away option at the end does seem sensible for this car, and as you say its a good car.
Fantastic to drive and not sure what would compare to this version of Taycan. Going to be interesting now if the range improves with the warmer weather now. I also have a 150w Charger next to house now and used it yesterday. I am happier at 30mins full charge for now
I drove the Turbo S yesterday, absolutely loved it. But terrified it will drop.a further £40k in the next 2 years, as that's what the PPC future value suggests. What do you think?
Hi Thomas, not sure you need anymore power than 4s so maybe try a Secondhand one of them first at lower price. This Cross truismo reminds me of the old RS4 and RS6
Well i tried the 4S and it felt quick, but not exciting enough, my worry is there are far more 4S's about so they are probably more susceptible to depreciation. The 4S was lovely though.@@Challengetheroad Would be keen to know what your finance looks like
Well if it makes financial sense why not? Yeah a lot of people panicked and rushed into buying ev even ones who do less than 10k a year. Thanks again for the air tags

I think you are shocked by the dropping value and cars at Porsche dealerships were cheaper than the £68k you were asking for. Taycan's are dropping £2k a month especially higher spec models and the range is rubbish due to its weight and size. All EV's are over priced with excuses that wages are higher in Europe and garages cost more to run but I think we were subsidising the cars sold in China by VW and Tesla. Europeans are ripped off by car manufacturers and 8 year old EV's (possibly 6 year old and 7 as well ) will be worthless as the battery warranty runs out. Who will buy a 7 year old Taycan ?
Not shocked as had 40k off the price, I had a buyer that day I collected but really enjoy the car to drive. Will drop more but it’s a day to day car they all would. It will interesting values in 7 years time but I will have changed by then. It is super to drive!
@@Challengetheroad It is a real shame EV's seem to drop a bit more than ICE cars but my Cupra Born has depreciated about the same as a Formentor with similar spec. Hopefully I will get a Taycan but worried about losing £££. For better range I would have the Sport Turismo rwd as it gets extra 20 miles. 4 cross you have looks very nice and I do like the off road body kt. Do you know if you can add roof rails to an already built Taycan ? Did you buy from a Porsche garage and was the car new ?
All cars are expensive now, not just EV's. People say EV's cost more, yet when you do the like-for-like comparison they really are not. Also, you need to factor that few people are paying the RRP, so when you look at new depreciation it's not from the that high RRP price, but from a lower number. A 7 year old Taycan will still be a great purchase and car. Refurbished Taycan batteries with a 3 year warranty cost just £8.5k
