I am very happy with my jacket and pants. I just got back home, 45 degrees outside at night. I could not believe how comfortable these are. Unbelievable for price
I have the same coat. Only issue I have is the velcro closure on the front neck... that velcro can really dig into my neck if I don't fasten it just perfectly. All in all, good coat.
By the time i became aware of these jackets, i couldn't find any in my size in the colour i wanted. Testament to their popularity i guess. Noticed the gofastinnovations JIS screwdrivers in the background and much to my surprise, one had it's debut later in the vid. Thanks for the review and maybe i should go scour the interweb for my size again. Cheers Lad!
Thank you for the comment, good luck in your hunt for the jacket, I would say its worth it. Good catch on the screwdriver, I promise it will make more appearances in the future as well. Dino
I have the exact same coat and yes my friends make fun of me because of the color but honestly it's pretty good, I had some ruff falls on my bike and to be honest no broken bones no burns nether scratch, so I'm pretty happy with it, Higly recommended, a bit to warm for the country that I live in (Central America, Panama City) but besides that excellent coat.
I just ordered the coat while I was watching this video. I already had the pants and was pretty impressed with them. My Joe Rocket mesh coat isn't holding up in the cold so I'm looking forward to testing this coat myself. BTW great show. I like the PBS quality production.
Good review Dino and Karl (two user views in one video) Useful that you mentioned the EU rating. There are several levels that readers can look at for themselves. Good looking coat - the features and construction you pointed out are good points for buyers to look at for themselves. Really good price. Thankyou
Glad you enjoyed the review. It was a fun review to ale and hopefully assists others in deciding whether or not to purchase the coat. Thank you again for the feedback, it is always helpful Dino
Good video! I bought a pair of the pants two years ago, but every time I remember to get a jacket they are sold out. I will have to check more often. I’m fine with budget items, my wallet appreciates it.
Awesome video again Dino! How true do you find the sizing? I usually wear a XL size jacket and when I bought my Thor jacket I had to buy a XXXL and it’s still tight.
I thought it was pretty good. I normally wear a xxxl and that's what I ordered. It fits well and has room for additional layers underneath. The pants allow me to wear jeans underneath if I want but often I just wear cycling shorts or long underwear. Of the two the pants fit a bit tighter but not an issue for me. Thank you for the question. Dino
How many takes did you have to do to keep straight faces through this. This was hilarious gents and looks like a lot of fun to make. What a pal Carl is: happy to hose you down (twice) and not mention your pants zipper was in the 'vented' position. Matching jackets and pants...you two ☺️😌 PS: Who upset Bill! VV
Thank for the comment. We do have a lot of fun making the videos. It took a few takes to get enough "clean" footage. But I think it was worth it. Not sure about Bill, I can be a bit annoying I guess so I'll take the blame. Thanks is again for the comment Dino
I was reading Fourms someone got road rash threw the jacket! The Border Guards at New bruswick immediatly called me in for inspection when I wore all my high viz gear at once, I felt like they said "wait a minuet hes trying to hide something in plain sight" 30 minuets later "ur good"
That's not good. Which forum if I may ask? I would like to read up on it. The high viz stuff is funny but most likely not at the time. Thanks for the comment. Dino
That could have been an option for sure, I went for the 10 minute 10 gallon of water test for this video. The coat, like all Riding coats will let water in if you do not close the vents and cuffs, something I found out the hard way on a few later rides. Dino
Excellent review! Thank you. Just sub'd. So you bought a 3X. How tall are you and what's your chest measurement? I placed an order yesterday for a 3X, but maybe I should change it to a 2X. I'm 6ft with a 46 in chest (and long arms like an ape).
Thank you for the Sub! I am 5'11" , my chest is 47", my arm length from the top of my shoulder to the wrist is 24" and my waist is 44" (I really have to loose a bit of weight LOL) Thank you for the comment and I hope the information helps with you decision. the 3xl has lots of room for me and I can wear a sweater under it if needed but the length of the sleeves and the chest do fit me well. Dino
Glad the pants video was helpful as well. I love London, I am originally from Woodstock so I spent a great deal of time in London when I was younger. Thank you again for the sub and feed back. It helps a lot. Dino
@@DinosTinkerShed- I really like the jacket - been wearing it for for several months now. I always wear it when I ride. Thanks again for the excellent review!
Hi Peter. I am 5'11" have a 47" chest and 260 lb, yes I'm fat lol. The fit on the 3xl is great with room for additional clothing and lots of length for my arms and lower back. Dino
Do you feel this coat has the ability to protect against road rash in a crash? Or is more of a motorcycle windbreaker? Obviously material isn't as good as expensive but does it seems it has some abrasion resistance?
I think the material is the same as more expensive coats. Its 600 denneir polyester And has rated foam protection. I think you pay alot for brand recognition. But that's just my opinion.
Nah it won't protect you it will tear apart. I know a guy who's riding little honda navi with that gear and he had an accident at 40mph speed and I saw his pants and that jacket ( everything was from HAWK ) so waterproof maybe but road rash protection? NOOOOOOOO....you get what you pay for.
They are NOT waterproof and HWK knew it, this was a response when I emailed customer service about it... "I'm really sorry for this. We have fixed some waterproof issues in our new stock and new jacket will be available after 8 weeks and I'll send a jacket from new stock for you".
Hey thank you for the feedback. that's interesting for sure. I just rode through rain for about an hour the other day and I stayed dry other than a bit of penetration around the cuffs which I did not cinch up.. I wonder if they had a batch that did not receive some kind of treatment. Dino
@@DinosTinkerShed they wouldn't specify, only admitted they had a problem and offered the new stock jacket. My son and I got stuck in a moderate rain that only lasted for 10-15 minutes but we got soaked to the skin so it was obvious they definitely didn't repel the water
Again thank you for the information. I will reach out as well and see if they want to respond to me or not as well. The actually commented on this video when it came out and I can always follow up with an update video if others have the same issue. Dino
Youz guyz bought these coats cause you're Canadian and motorcycle parts and accessories are expensive in Caaaanada AND you're cheap. ......................................... Let's face it.. We don't ride in the winter or when the mercury dips LOW. so it's wise to have visible clothing that will protect and lets face it. There aren't many of us riding dirt bikes who cruise the 4 nothing 1 or the Queen E. The end.
Such great videos, this channel is underrated. Greetings from Germany.
