The fact that ol' Jimbo was willing to be that creepy *in front of a bunch of cameras* makes me think that there was definitely worse stuff going on at that restaurant, and you just know that every skeevy hooters manager watched that episode and went "oh cool, I can sexually degrade women and get nothing but a slap on the wrist from the CEO, so I'm just gonna keep being an absolute stinking greasetrap of a human being."
I knew a girl who worked there around 2008. They told her she 'had the privilege' to compete in a Hooters bikini contest BUT that she'd need to buy new bikinis, would not get paid unless she won AND would have to take off work. She politely declined and they did everything they could to hound her at work for tiny infractions and fired her a month later. She was a super sex positive person who even liked the outfits and they still managed to go to far with her. I hate Hooters so much.
And every other 'Jessica' felt the need to remove her perfectly reasonable work shirt to expose her bikini covered boobs, despite feeling uncomfortable, out of fear of being fired by her disgusting excuse for a boss. My God I loathe that man.

I've only seen Undecover boss Canada and wow... major difference in which bosses are willing to be filmed. Ours are actually decent/fake it well and make you want to use the company
the thing that weirds me out it when he calls them “prima donna’s” like they’re minimum wage workers what makes you think they’re entitled? because they dress/look the way you require them to? because they’re women?
He's quite literally an incel with power. The only reason he wasn't even worse was because he already knew he hit the line of how far he could degrade them without getting into legal trouble.
Some men only care about women’s worth in relation to men, like when they only care thinking it’s someone daughter and could possibly be theirs one day. It’s selfish.
a lot of s*xual assault awareness (from a certain angle) is phrased as “she’s someone’s daughter” or “she’s someone’s mom/sister/wife.” yet she is her own whole person too with her own rights regardless. it’s like the woman herself isn’t centered as an individual, but respecting a woman/girl is transactional depending on how important she is to other people. very weird.
@@dylanfromtheh00d46 The point is about how certain people talk about women as if their worth is based on their relation to the men around them rather than them as an independent person. What does the dumb "I don't care about anyone and nobody cares about me hmm" have to do with this?
I love how all these CEOs act all surprised when their employee isn’t eager to do a minimum wage customer service job. They should know 80% of people that take those jobs just need the money. I doubt they’d want to do it themselves.
Because they either grew up w money and didn’t have to work for a dime and got their daddy’s company handed to them (like the Hooters guy) or they worked minimum wage jobs when they were like 15 4827 yrs ago and forgot how terrible it was
My favourite(?) thing about Undercover Boss is that they give, like, one person a holiday or something and completely ignore the underlying conditions that make it such a shitty place to work.
Also, sexists are so stupid. The workers all want these girls that are skinny and conventionally attractive. So why would you force feed them!?!? Aside from it being inhumane, it also makes no goddamn sense.
As an ex-Hooter’s girl, they definitely do line everyone up before the shift and check to make sure you’re “in uniform” basically tattoos covered, no nails or jewelry besides a wedding ring, mascara blush lips minimum, if you’re Black you have to either straighten your hair or wear a wig because they won’t let you wear it natural. If they think you gained weight, they can tell you to lose it or your job. They hire you as “entertainers” rather than servers and call themselves an image based company so they have the right to do all these things
And the CEOs were the most generic looking guys ever, even if they wallpapered the restaurants with their faces I doubt the employees would recognise them
i work at a Marcus theaters and if you've never been, they show Mr Marcus before every movie after the previews. so I have seen what he looks like several times but if I saw him in person i wouldn't give it a second thought, would not notice him at all
an annoying thing that doesn’t get talked about enough: women are expected to appear “presentable” (aka done up) esp in jobs like this but their place of work never compensates them for things like getting their hair, nails, & hair removal done regularly which can be very expensive and time consuming. there’s also the cost of buying makeup and fake tanning. I know people are also going to say men are expected to look “presentable” but the standards and cost in terms of money and time are way different and it’s just never mentioned.… it’s messed up.
I’m a female and I’ve never even thought about this but holy shit you’re so right. I work in a clothing retail store as a manager. Our dress code is pretty lax (changed recently due to covid which meant our product went more “cozy casual”). Basically wear to sell while still looking presentable and not like you just got out of bed. Since it’s clothing, you’re mostly expected to wear current product or similar product (could be from a year or two ago). I’ve had to buy different shirts because my graphic tee isn’t sold by the company or it was a little too short when I’d lift my arms (to fold clothing, nothing weird). Meanwhile I’ve had male coworkers show up in sweatsuits and have never even been talked to about their outfit despite knowing the policies.
The thing is, he's so believable to me. Like guys like him are literally everywhere. Granted, there's more accountability for guys like him since the #metoo movement, but he's painfully realistic
the fact that the guy just has to apologize and play nice like theyre disciplining a two year old when he has been mistreating his staff for probably multiple years and will probably continue, and a girl who was wearing a shirt and working purely for money so they can survive gets fired. thats so gross.
The fact that the "six guys" (there were only five in the photo) made a restaurant chain just so they legally couldn't be kicked out of it really lets you know the priorities these guys had
Doug being mad that Jessica is wearing a shirt because the company is called bikini and not shirt? Bro, then why aren’t you in a bikini? Go put one on, and if you don’t you’re not passionate about the company I guess :/
I love the fact that they make fun of a girl for having “bad nails” when in the food industry (at least in the kitchen) you typically can’t have nail polish, long nails, or fake nails.
I was thinking that the whole time! At least in some states, you can only have nail polish or fake nails in certain counties, and then you have to wear gloves over them. Which I'm guessing they wouldn't consider very sexy 🙄
I first heard of hooters through memes on ifunny a long time ago, but i thought it was a one restaurant type thing but the fact its a chain is even more wild
I'm not ever going to say anything too positive about CEOs but I as an employee of a billion dollar company have met and had conversations with my CEO multiple times. He doesn't remember me of course but I have definitely interacted personally with him.
Why is it that CEOs can be all about doing everything in the name of making money but as soon as one of their workers says they're just doing their job to make money it's a problem?
@Squealer "you think it's weird that the mayor listens to the high school musical track on a day to day basis don't you? it's because of the mayor isn't it?"
The fact that they say "girls" instead of "women" is already a huge problem, excluding all the other dehumanising, misogynistic, degrading and sexist shit going on.
the blatant sexism with how the girl got fired, but the manager didn't is mind-blowing to me. I hope she did a go fund me or something, I feel so bad for her bro...
I believe he did end up getting fired and banned from Hooters, and the episode went down in history as one of the worst workplace conditions and worst situations the CEO had to witness. However I agree, this was way too out of line for it to happen later on, it should've happened right then and there.
EXACTLY!!! it's really hard to prove that a company headed by men that's profiting off of women's bodies as not degrading in the 1st place, but then that manager proves exactly why i refuse to give them money. if a woman enjoys her work there then i completely support her!! but the fact that these women are treated like objects and toys rather than human beings will always be disgusting
Exactly and I disagree with Kurtis @ 7:05 bc that woman is 100% correct. Hooters is objectifying and degrading to women. And it grossed me out that they kept calling these adult women "girls". Adds another layer of creepiness.
@@marinasunshine4517 100% agree with you but I think the reason why Kurtis thought it was a bad take was because women should be allowed to wear what they want without being objectified
as if he wouldn't fire her (and the other women) as soon as they get older so he could keep the 'breastaurant' run by young women bc he wouldn't find them attractive anymore. its fucking sickening
CEOs are so out of touch they want everyone who works the shitty jobs to be as passionate as they are while making a fraction of the salary. It’s crazy how fucking stupid people can be lol. Jessica deserves better and I hope she’s thriving now.
I'm not surprised that the guy Jimbo got off so easily; Coby seems like he has the backbone of a jellyfish and wouldn't have stopped Jimbo from kicking him in the gut.
If that is what Jimbo was comfortable doing in front of the cameras imagine what shit he got up to on the daily... gross. Also it's so irritating and wrong when people expect you to love your job when you're just in some dead-end job, everyone does it for the money and expecting people to be passionate about that dumb shit is f*cking lunacy.

the ceo of bikinis talking about jessica needing to devote herself and her passion to her job reminds me of my current job telling me the same thing at my part time retail job with no benefits

I am literally so angry. Jimbo is disgusting. “Evaluating” those women’s appearances just so he can check them out and comment on it and call it “doing his job”. The beans eating thing made me very uncomfortable. Whether it was the power dynamic that gets him off or the fact that he’s forcing women to lick a plate clean that gets him off or both, it just made me very uncomfortable to watch. He was probably still a sexist creep just more careful about getting caught. And then Doug… Doug is Jimbo if he was a CEO… they’re just both very disgusting. I’m like actually furious. I hope Jimbo is out there NOT harassing women, I hope he got fired from Hooters and he’s working in an all male job where he is in no contact with women. He doesn’t even deserve to LOOK at a woman. I hope he never laid a finger on them.
i agree jimbo and doug were actually DISGUSTING. buttt every hooters establishment does the line up thing before we work (called a jumpstart). it isn’t as intense as the show made it seem… it’s more so just making sure you look presentable because many of the guests will ask to take pictures with you and a big part of the job is looking “photo shoot ready”. sure some people come into hooters strictly for the food, but most come for other obvious reasons hahahah. this information is given to us during orientation so we know what to expect and can quit if we don’t feel comfortable! i honestly love my managers and the hooters i work at and i always feel comfortable/safe with them! obviously i can’t speak for other hooters tho and that bean thing was just nasty lmao
imagine how excited those girls were after hearing that was the CEO that saw Jimbo and thinking omg finally he's gonna get fired and then they find out HE JUST HAS TO APOLOGIZE
Are you fuckin kidding me? What the hell is wrong with men like my god I hate men sooo damn much and these are the kind of men that give the rest of the guys bad rep wtf!!
The episodes I’ve seen previously were basically like, “Wow, I couldn’t believe how horrible the working conditions were. I could never do that seriously, especially considering all these people doing those jobs are so poor. Real sweet of them to work so hard for me at this minimum wage job when they’ve got these significant presumably-unrelated money issues going on. I’m going to give this one employee who I interacted with directly and liked a holiday because I’m such a generous and good guy.” Though to be fair, normally when they express not liking their job the CEO acts like he cares about making the job more likeable. I’m sure it’s just for the cameras, but they definitely didn’t fire them on camera.
I remember SO CLEARLY seeing the Hooters episode on TV a million years ago, and the CEO saying every 5 minutes that his daughters wanna work in Hooters when they grow up and it was the maximum cringe hearing how he was trying to convince himself that his business wasn't absolutely horrible to women just by repeating over and over again that unconfirmed fact 😖
It’s such a shit argument as well like of course they wanna work at hooters their father literally owns it and romanticizes it to them and they will have the ability to quit anytime because their dad is rich so they don’t even need to work their
The issue with Hooters isn't the uniform itself. It's the fact that male executives decided they would only hire women if they would dress in a sexualized manner and subject themselves to being sexualized at work by both customers AND BOSSES (?) without protecting themselves. I think that's what that woman was getting at. It wasn't a bad take. It's a predatory business that perpetuates rape culture.
Kurtis, you left out a part. The only reason she was in a tshirt instead of a bikini was because she didn’t want her grandmother seeing her on tv dressed like that.
@Bob Watters yeah? its the problem of the industry makers and the consumers for making demand that has to be fuffiled. the same reason the porn industry is fueled through sex trafficking. maybe society should stop selling women and these women would have easy access to jobs that dont use their bodies as a product. you know, like men do.
@Bob Watters what do you mean by that? I’m saying that despite the job being dehumanizing sometimes people have no where else to work and we kind of need money to live. Idk why it’s such a difficult concept that people should be treated with basic human decency and not treated like literal animals lol
@Bob Watters just because there are women willingly working at these places doesn’t make those men’s attitudes any less disrespectful. treating those women as objects and talking to and about them in the way they did is NOT OK, even if the people they’re doing it to are ok with it. yes, the women are not being forced to work there, however, there probably aren’t as many job opportunities for them. It is also very possible that they have been taught and conditioned to think that that’s how they deserve to be treated. It’s fucking sick that there are men that think that way and arguing anything different is disgusting
Side note: he got sent home, on his “first” day of work because he did a bad job? Dog, this general manager sucks, he’s doing a bad job because he hasn’t been trained! He’s not gonna do a good job his first day.
Totally agree with you. I think I remember this episode, (and correct me if I'm wrong), but the manager told him to put away some stuff from dishwashing, and he dropped a whole bunch of glasses and broke them all. The manager just didn't want to deal with that, so he just sent him home for getting in everyone's way.
Holy shit yes. Had a manager at a Subway like this when I was younger. I got almost zero training and was expected to know what to do, even though I had never worked in a Subway before, or even in the food service industry (which the manager knew). The other employees had no interest in helping me out, either. Got fired after my first couple of weeks. Got 'em all back with a friend of mine, some stencils he made, and a can of spray paint. Hope it took 'em a real long time to get that shit off.
I do think Hooters is degrading especially because every time you go you’re being put on a pedestal for creepy old men to stare at you so some random creep that owns the company can profit off of you. Not cool :(
ok but the fact that jimbo got literally zero consequences for his nastiness, and then jessica gets let go just because she chooses not to wear a bikini.. i am absolutely livid. how is this even real
Jimbo definitely said "the girls are spoiled" because they won't sleep with him, and he thinks they're being bratty by not giving him what he wants. He was definitely making them do something degrading as a way to get off

the fact they fired Jessica... a way-overqualified woman who does her job well whose only indiscretion was wearing a shirt... with one DAY's notice after she literally said she needs her job to pay the bills... unreal I hope they gave her a FAT severance package after that. Edit: I don’t think the restaurant offers everyone they fire a severance check, I’m assuming the TV production company offered her a substantial amount to prevent her from suing the restaurant/tv studio because clearly she was fired unfairly and definitely would’ve had a case, especially after her episode aired on tv. I have read comments that made me laugh, and I have read comments that made me cry, and I have read comments that broke my heart. I am sorry from the bottom of my heart that some of you have lost your own Grammys, whether due to passing away, or your grandparents have turned away from you because they refuse to accept you for who you are in your soul. I just want to give all of you a big old Grammy hug. 🤟

an annoying thing that doesn’t get talked about enough: women are expected to appear “presentable” (aka done up) esp in jobs like this but their place of work never compensates them for things like getting their hair, nails, & hair removal done regularly which can be very expensive and time consuming. there’s also the cost of buying makeup and fake tanning.
I know people are also going to say men are expected to look “presentable” but the standards and cost in terms of money and time are way different and it’s just never mentioned.… it’s messed up.
Well said
Damn bro that’s gotta really suck like Jesus man
I’m a female and I’ve never even thought about this but holy shit you’re so right. Meanwhile I’ve had male coworkers show up in sweatsuits and have never even been talked to about their outfit despite knowing the policies.
how dare you undermine the costs of being presentable as a man, we have to spend like $5 in deodorant a month and sometimes maybe shave
Not necessarily. If your doing something solely based on your appearance of course you gonna have a higher expectation.

I CANNOT BELIEVE he didn’t get fired. “Apologize”… that’s it?! I’m willing to bet he went back to his job and changed NOTHING. And I’m glad Doug’s shitty restaurant went out of business and I hope he also has no contact with women :) ALSO, I hope Jessica is doing FANTASTIC! I hope it wasn’t too hard for her to find another job and I hope her and her family are very happy right now :) :) :) as well as all the women from the hooters that had to deal with Jimbo’s BS. I hope he never laid a finger on them.

Yeah, it was totally disgusting.
be a shame if we were to b**n jimbo alive thus freeing those women and freeing his money to give to them.
Yeah the beans were really uncomfortable
i agree jimbo and doug were actually DISGUSTING. buttt every hooters establishment does the line up thing before we work (called a jumpstart). it isn’t as intense as the show made it seem… it’s more so just making sure you look presentable because many of the guests will ask to take pictures with you and a big part of the job is looking “photo shoot ready”. sure some people come into hooters strictly for the food, but most come for other obvious reasons hahahah. this information is given to us during orientation so we know what to expect and can quit if we don’t feel comfortable! i honestly love my managers and the hooters i work at and i always feel comfortable/safe with them! obviously i can’t speak for other hooters tho and that bean thing was just nasty lmao

You're working in an underpaying job for money? You're not passionate about being able to eat?
*Fires you*
The episodes I’ve seen previously were basically like, “Wow, I couldn’t believe how horrible the working conditions were. I could never do that seriously, especially considering all these people doing those jobs are so poor. Real sweet of them to work so hard for me at this minimum wage job when they’ve got these significant presumably-unrelated money issues going on. I’m going to give this one employee who I interacted with directly and liked a holiday because I’m such a generous and good guy.”
Though to be fair, normally when they express not liking their job the CEO acts like he cares about making the job more likeable.
And that he indirectly would like to see his daughters dressed and treated so degrading
"Gee idk how my business based on looking at boobs can be so hostile to women." 😮
It’s such a shit argument as well like of course they wanna work at hooters their father literally owns it and romanticizes it to them and they will have the ability to quit anytime because their dad is rich so they don’t even need to work their
@@doctorlain2740 they'll clearly be treated differently too.
The only thing he forgets to mention is that his daughters want to work at hooters as CEO/shareholders not as waitresses...
I completely agree!
Honestly if Hooters had ALL their employees wear the hooters uniform 👀
.. now that’s a business I’d want to participate in!

Kurtis, you left out a part. The only reason she was in a tshirt instead of a bikini was because she didn’t want her grandmother seeing her on tv dressed like that.
Was that really the reason!? Omg
Wooooowwwww
Damn. It makes sense to want to be more discrete on national tv.
holy shit that’s even worse, hopefully she’s landed a solid job and is doing better now.
That makes it even worse. She was just temporarily dressed in a shirt for TV and would have went back to bikini when done. The CEO is gross.
I’m absolutely mortified at the intense misogyny and sexism in these jobs they’re incredibly dehumanizing
@Bob Watters lmao sometimes people have no where else to work
@Bob Watters yeah? its the problem of the industry makers and the consumers for making demand that has to be fuffiled. the same reason the porn industry is fueled through sex trafficking. maybe society should stop selling women and these women would have easy access to jobs that dont use their bodies as a product. you know, like men do.
Don't work at hooters then? Don't be put in a place to be dehumanized if you dont want to be
Side note: he got sent home, on his “first” day of work because he did a bad job?
