- The new Dodge Charger is going to be a lift back, meaning it will come in three-door and five-door body styles. That’s only one of the shocking changes Dodge has in store with the reinvention of the brand’s muscle car.

Offering a retro body style without a Hemi is a missed opportunity.
Not really…. Charger and challenger was the worst selling cars in the United States…. All the people who are screaming “V8” was not buying them….
@@YattirSmith Wrong, they had steady sales and some of the better selling Dodge models. The V6 model had a hybrid system, so I avoided another one after owning 2. The V8 is popular and the main reason some put up with Chrysler products.
well...looking forward to next year and the gas engine.
until then, let them sit on the lots like all the other EVs.
LMFAO PowerShot!!!!!! But dodge im already equipped with that!
Excellent summary. Interesting car. Nice to see Chrysler (Dodge/Stellantis) still making actual cars (GM take note).
Subnote - I expect current Challenger and Charger owners will be among the most reluctant to accept (the inevitable) EV future!
Ev is not the future
Doubt it, considering several behemoth manufacturers announced they are back pedaling their EV movement.
No one's gonna buy the ev version. We'll wait for the v6 twin turbo
Inline 6. It’s the engine from the Wagoneer and Ram
@@baritone05 still taking it over the ev
IMO this would appeal more to traditionalist pick up buyers ( me ) as a second option something new to go with the old
NADA on the EV's. Go with the 550 HP ICE Manual, Plum Crazy or Orange.
Watch dodge getting 2000 sales in the first year, then discontinu it
That would be a very expensive mistake. It takes several years and a lot of money to develop a vehicle. They are in no position to throw that kind of money away.
the rear half looks like a scion tc
Looks nothing like a scion
@@Yoomaro find a photo of the side profile of it, youll see the resemblance.
It do 😂
The majority of American cars until the 1980s had I6 and V8 engine options. They are comparable to the V6 and V8, respectively in the previous Charger, Challenger and 300. The 6-cylinder lacked performance and was more of an entry-level option whereas the V8 offered performance and was more of a high-end option. So an I6 as a performance engine is more German than American in my opinion, specifically for BMWs, not to mention that this one is turbocharged whereas the V6 and older I6 engines were naturally aspirated.
I think the real news will be when the gas engine models become available. I can't picture too much interest in the EV's.
The 2 door looks f**king sweet!!! Makes me WANT an EV!!!!!
I love living in Oceania
I hear those no lines to move to Atlantis.
Six pack is the dumbest name they could’ve used, it’s not like the old day 3 two barrel six pack. How about just name it Dodge charger hurricane! That sounds a lot cooler with that engine anyway.
From every video I've seen about this car, the traditional muscle car crowd has no interest in the Charger Daytona. The comments here seem to bear this out as well. I might be game for this, if I can afford it. However, I have reservations about Fratzonic. Making the Charger Daytona sound like it has a V8 shows a distinct lack of imagination. If it crackled , then let out a 120dB clap of lightning on departure, that would work. However, what would be my speed would be for it to emit a funereal church pipe organ wail as it gets off the line.
Also, I can see them deciding to leave the power packs on the cars, because there are few people who will tolerate paying thousands for those ones and zeros, which is probably all that the power packs consist of anyway. There will probably be a power to the people moment very early on, as with these modes, several of the few to buy the Daytonas will splatter them against something hard, and someone will lay hands on the brains of this car.
Pricing will have to be sharp, as asking for too much can cause people to decide to buy a Lucid Air that could, in its most basic form, trash anything that doesn't say Banshee on it. But a Lucid Air simply isn't this kind of fun...
Not dodge aggressive enough it’s nice but not dodge
The aftermarket will take care of that.
En cars are for thé city
Stop killing the car market 😭
🤦♂️
ok, time to get rid of the Dodge brand and change it to FIAT. So sad.
it kind of reminds me of a camaro
Meh
Looks like the Charger got castrated!
Oh no, you're right. The Dodge Charger has really changed from its muscular, V8 gas-powered days to its new EV Charger, which has lost a lot of its power and aggression. But to be honest, I kind of like the new, less aggressive look. It's more streamlined and aerodynamic, and it makes the car look more modern. So if you're looking for a powerful, aggressive car, then the V8 version would be your best bet. But if you want something that's more efficient and environmentally friendly, then the EV Charger is a viable option.
Dumb
You think EVs are dumb? Well, how do you expect us to move forward and fight climate change if we don't switch over to more sustainable solutions like EVs? Gas-powered cars are just going to keep polluting the air, and we can't keep doing that forever. Eventually we have to take action and stop being lazy, selfish idiots who don't care about our planet. So get with the times and realize that EVs are the way forward, not just for ourselves but for the whole world.
Did I hear anything on pricing? I am guessing these will be overpriced like everything else?
No pricing yet. We assume the initial launch 2024 models will have a higher price tag. We're really interested in where the 2025 gas models get priced.
EV charger? Get ready to go bankrupt, Dodge. Nobody is going to want that garbage.
Oh come on, you can't be that anti-EV can you? Dodge may end up going bankrupt from their new EV Charger, but that doesn't mean all EVs are bad. The Dodge Charging Network may not be the best solution, but that doesn't mean EVs are garbage. In terms of battery technology and efficiency, EVs are leagues ahead of gas-powered cars. So stop being stuck in the past and realize that EVs are the future, whether you like it or not
This channel is awful, time to unsubscribe
Wow, that's a little harsh. I know you don't like Dodge's decision to make EVs, but that doesn't mean the channel is awful. The Channel is just trying to showcase what's new in the automotive industry and shed light on the different advancements that are happening. It's not like they're forcing you to watch their videos, they're just trying to inform people about the latest technologies. So it's your choice to unsubscribe, but you might be missing out on some interesting content.
Why blame the channel? They aren't the one's building these. Not everyone agrees with you either. Wait till they hit the showroom then come back when they sell faster then they can be built.
Looks like hell. Looks like every other blob on the road. And a 6 cylinder? The sound of a V8 is a muscle car, not a dumb 6.
My wife and I own a curios yellow
71’ cuda’ 340 vert since 1978. She said this new Charger thing looks like a Camry. Doesn’t look like a Mopar.
What Dodge should have done was get public input. Not let goofy designers create a blob that they “ think” the loyal Mopar people will love.
I am now absolutely done with Mopars.
Dodge totally missed the mark. Very very boring! I can’t run this car down enough. How disappointing.
We all have opinions. The only thing I can agree with about yours is the 71 Cuda is the real deal.
