RWD, V8, Manual transmission is what makes a muscle car for me. The insane power of the Hellcats was just the icing on the cake. So needless to say these cars will not be for me. Not a complete disappointment but definitely not why I came to Dodge in the first place. I knew this was coming which is why I ordered and picked up a ‘23 last year.
The same here, if that was the case would of just went with Tesla. Not a true American Muscle car! Doesn't have the feel of the V8 rumble or the smell of rubber smoking and not to mention that deep sound. I don't want a car that's has a motor that sounds like a high speed fan 😂

like 90% of fords sales are 4 and 6 cylinder engines along with hybrids and ev options... the government just fines you if you dont meet certain quotas. same reason v8s are becoming less common is the same reason oil is getting lighter and lighter.
It's because Hemis are one of the least efficient V8s on the market. From what I heard they rank a 1/10 in efficiency from the EPA, whereas the Coyote ranks a 5/10. Dodge could make a newer, more efficient V8, however I'm sure that Stellantis wouldn't give them the funds to do so since they are a European company that thinks cars with big, high horsepower V8s are silly. It truly is sad to think that if Stellantis didn't own Dodge right now, we would still probably have a V8 model of some sorts.

Whole new platform. This one is longer and wider than the outgoing charger. As cool as it would look to swap into a LD it’s impossible. That engine swap though will keep the v8 living. At least they didn’t fumble the design and overall of the car and kept an engine at all. We can’t blame STELANTIS it’s the government!! Can’t even get a v8 on a TUNDRA.
I am severely disappointed. I do not want AWD or a 6 cyl! This is not a muscle car at all. Scatpack should have had an NA 440 making 550-600hp and the new hellcat a supercharged 426 with 1000hp. I’ll keep my 2020 Scat.

CEO lying to us, saying EPA told them they "cant sell Hemis." The V8 is alive and well at Ford for years to come.
I’m not 100% sure but I’m pretty sure it has something to do with a total combined emissions or something like that. Ford has more eco friendly vehicles and EVs. Dodge had a lot of big mean V8s that were not eco friendly. I don’t know how it works but I’m pretty sure it was the government that killed the Hemi and Chevys Camaro. Ford is just a bigger company and therefore it’s easier for them to get away with it legally.
The Hemi is super inefficient compared to other v8’s even Corvette’s flat plane v8 is significantly more efficient than the Hemi.

I’ve owned 3 Hellcats, one being a Redeye and a 392 for a total of 4 gas powered V8 Challengers and none of these Non V8’s do anything for me. The 1300 plus Banshee I would love to drive but without the V8 I see it as a novelty only. The other thing is absolutely nobody asked for these EV car’s and with the EV mandates easing we may see V8’S again. Dodge is going to struggle with this generation of cars & trucks.

How long do you think it can sustain that 670 hp? Do a drag race , couple of burnouts , couple of full throttle pulls , and you’ll be almost out of juice. Then you can recharge it for a few hours.
People race EVs all the time and drive them home. You can do all that and have like 94% battery left or more. EVs aren't powered by AAs.

I love my 2023 R/T 5.7L Hemi, but this doesn’t look bad at all I love the Hurricane I6 because I drove one in the Jeep Grand Wagoneer and it hauls 6000+ LBS like nothing. To me, the Charger R/T 5.7L Hemi is the Swiss Army Knife of the lineup fun but really practical. The 3.0L I6 Hurricane is no joke.
The car is not bad looking, but you'll never convince me, that Dodge could have made a new, more efficient V8 for the 2025 Charger, but I'm sure it's more cost effective to put the Hurricane across various product lines.
I see all these “nobody wants EV’s” comments…. Y’all realize Tesla sold 720,000+ Model Y’s for 2023 in the US alone right?? They sold 1.23 million of them worldwide, making it the BEST SELLING vehicle in the WORLD for 2023…. It’s Model Y US sales for 23’ are greater than Dodge’s total sales from 2019-2023 combined. US Model 3 sales for 2023 are greater than 350,000 vehicles. EV’s are selling- 2023 saw 8% growth over 2022, while all other vehicle segments declined in 2023. That’s the reality.
These EVs are going to cost you in sales price, insurance, and maintenance just like the rest of them. Tires will need replacing every 8-12 months if you driving it like a real Mopar and if you don’t spend an extra $5000 to set up a charging port in your garage your daily commute is going to make for a long day. The higher hp the less range. Gotta think on these for real🤔

Side note I do not like that the 6 pack does not have that front air scoop that dips down around the front of the bumper they messed up with that.... Im hoping that electric scat would be somewhere in the 50-60k price range
there is NO mandate to stop making v8s, that is why Ford is going to own the RWD market, esp when GT500 arrives.

I got my 21 scat pack widebody challenger 2000 miles, manual tans, shaker package for 52k…( fully loaded) I think… in April 2023 with my husband and we have two perfect credit scores of 800 we put $5000 down in this economy we got 8% interest. all bills associated with this vehicle is $1600 each month. Who is going to be able to afford this electric car? It’s easily going to be more than what I’m paying now. And all I hear is my insurance is expensive this and that because these cars get stolen all the time. so are these electric ones more equipped to discourage theft? is there going to be some relief there? Or will it be a non issue? also, I know people like customizing these cars a lot I don’t see a lot of opportunity for that.
Wow. Thats pretty hefty for total ownership each month. I sold my 2021 widebody scatpack shaker manual in July of 2022. It only had 3k miles on it. I had red interior. Roof. Red brakes. And the SRT performance spoiler. I sold it for $53,500….i miss the car lol. I had 22 inch Vossen wheels on mine. The buyer wanted the stock wheels. I still have the 22 inch wheels if you or you know of anyone that’s interested…my monthly cost of ownership was around half of what you’re paying….i sold it bc I barely drove it….i kept the aftermarket wheels for so long in anticipation of possibly getting another one. But I decided not to. Just doesn’t make sense to me at this time. Good luck with yours

U do know that dodge used to sell chargers with I6s that were heavily respected for how relaible they were right? Or even the old Jeep 4.0L I6 that was unkillable and still praised today. Them making a I6 is going straight back to their roots to older models that ran I6s back in the day.

There’s a story out there of a EV Hyundai owner that junked his car because that battery cost totaled the car!
@@FrankTimms-cs5hl To be fair, they total the battery for the most dumb shit ever. One tesla owner hit a pothole that cracked a coolant line nipple. He took it to tesla, they I think quoted him 22k for the repair saying that the entire battery has to be replaced. Then he took it to the Electrified Garage and they simply replaced the pos plastic nipple with a brass fitting. Seriously, anyone who's interested in how these things actually get repaired, check out Rich Rebuilds.

As the owner of a 69 1/2 Six Pack Super Bee I think it's a joke that they put that name on a 6 cyl engine. I don't want a Dodge that sounds like a BMW. It's looking more and more that we're going to have a change in government. A new president along with a majority House and Senate they already said that they will drastically lower the epa and cafe standards so maybe Dodge is waiting to see if they can bring something else to the table. To many of us it's not about owning the fastest vehicle. It's about the power, sound and feel. My 2018 Challenger Hellcat wide body isn't near the fastest because it can never hook up. But I would never trade it for an electric Charger that will kick my ass at a stoplight every time. My Hellcat and Superbee both have something an electric Charger can never have. Pure sensation. Just saying.
They are probably the nicest electric cars out there style-wise and power wise I think they are beautiful
a few things concern me. the lack of charging infrastucture, lack of electric energy with brown outs happening here in california, the electric battery and cold weather issues, etc. the look of the car is dope.
Will likely adapt tesla charger.
These EVs are going to pass everything except a charging station. Can't imagine range is going to be anything to write home about.

6 pack about 50 - 70k depending on power and trim

None of these cars sounds like it will be affordable to the middle class at minimum. Dodge is going to start the prices around $60k to $100k.
Body looks good. No V8, no soul. Buy the base 6 pack and slap a Helliphant in it and then we can talk.

Man please. A Dodge with no hemi. Is not a good look. No real exhaust, no soul, & no point. They can sell hemi's if they buy credits. It's a European company that doesn't understand American muscle cars. These cars won't sell. A Tesla Plaid is way more than this thing. And they have ran out of customers. Lastly electric cars are straight heavy. So power per weight is what you go by.😅😅

The 670hp EV runs the same numbers as the current Hellcat and weigh almost 6000lbs. Its not outperforming a Redeye. You'd be a fool ro believe that.
The Scat is said to do 0-60 in 3.3 seconds with a quarter mile of 11.5. The R/T is said to do 4.7 seconds with a 13.1 quarter mile. That's around what the current 5.7 hemi runs with 100hp less than the EV version.
To make it worse, the top speed for the RT is 137mph and the Scat is 134mph. Yeah, they'll be fun in the quarter mile due to the instant torque but are disappointing for anything else.
The 6-pack will be the one that will be impressive in my opinion.
an EV that weighs 5900lbs it better have some heavy juice. Sure it may be fast but for how long? Do you have to drive granny style to get any range? What does it cost? Just because you can cook steak in a microwave does mean it's better.
That's heavier than a Durango Hellcat... it will need 800hp just be as slow as the Durango is.

Actually the R/T puts out 456hp, with the power shot it’s 496hp and 630hp with the power shot 670 for the Scat.

1/4 mile time 11.5 not bad but was expecting more from an EV.
again, it weighs almost 6000 pounds and is limited to 135 mph because of it (and the tires).
They had to stop producing the Hemi because of emissions problems. I'll leave it there.
