    Most days I prefer to eat Raw 'til 4, simply because I love eating a high carb, fruit-based diet! Being a highly active, plant-based athlete, means that I need a lot of glucose to keep me fueled for long workouts, and to maintain a healthy weight. Incorporating some cooked foods at dinnertime, however, is beneficial, because living in the midwest, the abundance of fresh tropical fruits is limited. No matter where you're at on your health and wellness journey, I think you'll be able to find some nuggets of wisdom and sources of inspiration from this video, that's more of a "How I EatMoveRest in a Day!" If nothing else, it's entertaining!

    I just found your channel as I was searching for Vegan pregnancy! I laughed when you said you were craving something and that no you weren’t pregnant... looking at the dates on the replies You might have been and didn’t know yet or shortly after. I am 45 with two teenage boys and my husband and I just got a huge surprise finding out we are having a baby.
    Thank you for all of the great videos you posted on your pregnancy, supplements and food! I have been vegan for about 5 years as well and want to ensure that I am giving my baby all the nutrients it needs.
    Love your channel!

    I absolutely adore you Erin! I love this video and love the little mini moon walk 🤣 I think it’s so crazy that Bo loves Kale stems!! My dog is loving VDog but it might take some trickery for the fresh veggie snacks haha. You make everything look so delicious! Love the beautifully grown plants too! Would you ever make a video on the different plants you grow indoors and how to grow them? I kill everything and want so bad to try a beautiful big indoor plant

      Produce is the cheapest thing in the super market in my experience (Whole Foods overcharges though).. the powders are what gets expensive, and they aren't necessary tbh.

      Way To Go Raw all we can do is share what we know and be who we are, and do our best to inspire others in that way! Our home is a very humble 1970s home in an older neighborhood that we’ve spent the last 5 years remodeling ourselves, and not to mention we live in Nebraska-not always easy being a high raw tropical fruit loving couple here but we make it happen! We certainly aren’t making a killing by any means! We just choose to spend our hard earned money On the things that matter most to us -Home and Health! 🙏💚💚💚

      Becky Ralston Usually you can find it in frozen rectangles (like Acai) but it’s called pitaya! Otherwise, a local Asian market usually has fresh dragonfruit that you can cut up and freeze!

    Love it! Thank you so much Erin! 🙌🏻 Couple of questions: you had the green juice, the smoothie then 1.5 + hours of workouts before lunch. Not sure how many hours it was in between the berry protein smoothie and lunch but I would have been famished by the lunchtime. My routine is similar my diet is vegan and I do vegan raw til 4’ on my two days off / week from work. My work is in retail and involves a good deal of lifting, physical labor and if I were to do a spin class plus yoga I would have needed to have at least a very small 8oz mason jar oatmeal snack sometime between workouts or something before the workouts.BUT! I aspire to eventually get to where you at! Id love it if a smoothie held me that long! Did you find you started off getting hungry earlier and then as you continued raw til 4’ the hunger pangs peetered off? Or has that smoothie always held you over until lunch even with intense workouts? Maybe it is a result of me not sleeping enough etc since that spikes cortisol, etc
    2. The berry smoothie here was a one day variation from the other daily green smoothie from the other videos that is in your what I eat in a day PDF you give on your website? OR do you vary the smoothies every day OR stick the green smoothie every day and the weekends something else? I was juicing at home for a while ultimately have dropped off because to commit to an ongoing food prep and later clean up is overbearing to do daily. Totally absolutely agree though! Fresh is a thousand percent the best!!
    3. Those potatoes look bomb. How long did you leave them in the crock pot for? I guess boiling them is the same thing? Why is the crock pot better? Thank you for your time!!

    • @EatMoveRest
      @EatMoveRest  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Sue! Actually I had about 700 calories between the smoothie I made and the green juice I drank, which was all part of breakfast, before my workout! Then after I ate lunch within an hour of my workouts so I was definitely plenty fueled!
      I usually make a green smoothie variation in the mornings, they’re all pretty similar to the recipe I have on my shop, unless I do a green juice, like I did here, then I will follow it with a berry smoothie like I did! Your green smoothies don’t have to be as involved every day, the important thing is adequate calories and plenty of greens!!
      The potatoes were in the Instant Pot for about 15-20 min. total but it varies based on how many you’re cooking at once. We prefer the Instant Pot because nutrients don’t get lost in the water like they do with boiling!

    Any thoughts ❓❓

  • @mjs28s
    @mjs28s 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You diet looks so nice and clean so why the acai powder, daily green boost? I can see some need for the protein being a mostly raw eater and active, but the daily boost is completely covered by your greens and the acai benefits are all ready there from all the berries that you eat. The daily boost seem to really only be high on vit K, as you pointed out, but I was curious. I put just the few greens (105 calories worth of food) that I ate today into cronometer and came in well above my needs, 454% (not counting anything else that I ate).

    • @EatMoveRest
      @EatMoveRest  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      mjs28s i hear ya! Sometimes I add them in when I feel like I need them, because not all foods are equal as far as nutrition content as much of our soil is depleted. It’s also important to remember it’s not what you eat, it’s what you absorb! If I’m feeling like my immune system needs a boost then I’ll incorporate some raw food supplements in...and I also thought they might be useful for others who maybe don’t get enough whole foods in! Hope this helps to clarify! 👌💚

    Is there a reason you don’t just blend the greens verses using a juicer? Another fabulous video! Love.

    • @EatMoveRest
      @EatMoveRest  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kelly Beechen juicing is very different from blending. You get a more pure and concentrated dose of nutrition, and it’s able to go straight into the bloodstream and the body’s cells to nourish and heal because there is no fiber to be digested. It gives the digestive system a break, essentially, and the produce is less oxidized than with blending! I only do green juices (rarely do I make fruit juices), and I use them for medicinal purposes mainly! Hope this helps!

      And imagine you have 6 kids like me... How can you ever do that. This is a luxus diet... And I strongly believe a human beeing doesn't need it to be healthy and have a long life... My Grandmother is 93 years old and we lived in east-germany... We did not even have oranges or bananas.. only a few weeks before Christmas they would sell those fruits to the people. Long queue , long time to wait just to get some oranges or bananas. And still my grandmother made it to be 93 and still feeling alright... wow how in the world was that possible. All this what i eat in the day videos are sooo crazy....

      @@EatMoveRest You know how u said your green juice should be drunk immediately cos it starts oxidising as soon as the air hits it? well, theres a kuvings juicer now that has a futuristic vacuum function where it sucks all the air out of your juice and protects all the antioxidants and vitamins!
      your juice is protected from nutrient loss even if u choose to pop it in the fridge and have it later!!!
      sounds like witchtrickery hey?

    Do you take any fats to help absorb the nutrients from greens...? Turmeric needs a little fat and black pepper to activate the bio active elements - good fats like ghee or macadamia. I used to put bananas as my smoothie base but my kidneys are running at half capacity. I was given a list of fruit vegetables fats etc not to eat:( Love avocado- can’t have it.
