    For a lower price, the Victus seems like a worthy opponent against Legion 5.With some budget restriction I went for the Victus. Pretty solid laptop tbh

      Agreed, although to me the Legion is the clear winner here, nobody can deny that it is definitely a solid comparison when taken into consideration it's prices. Did you get the upgraded screen or went on with the base screen? I'm deciding between the two right now and money's a little tight, would be great if you could share more of your own experience.

      Hi, I am thinking of going for the victus as right I can get it with i5 11400/ 16GB RAM/ Rtx 3060/ 144Hz 100% sRGB screen upgrade for 899 € because of a big promotion, but I am still thinking about the screen wobble 😖, that's why I am asking as you are using for some times now, how do you feel about the screen ?

    • @waniskandar4612
      @waniskandar4612 3 ปีที่แล้ว +27

      @@falkensteinfallen1288 The screen wobbles yeah, even my G14 screen wobbles, but the truth is.. it only truly wobbles obviously when you're trying to prove it. It shouldn't be too big of a factor if I'm being completely honest with you, don't take my word for it because people might have different opinions. I must say, the wobble isn't even noticeable unless you touch the screen. Besides that, if you're just gonna be sitting while gaming/doing work stuff it isn't gonna bother you at all and that's the truth.
      Edit: If your desk or workplace is wobbly then it will really be an annoyance.

      Yes, but as seen here, the victus was trading blows with it. And seems to beat it massively on value. Infact, the real champs are the tong fang chassis laptops.
      So the legion is pretty poor value. Its like the people who used to think alienware was the best. It wasn't. Same here.

      The Legion 60Wh 3060 I can buy is superior on 2 key points.
      The rear port setup and the usb c charging offer enormously superior flexibility imo.
      Not having type C charging is just not wanting to sell your product if you released them over the last year.
      Better screen is bonus.
      That said the Victus looks better and has better cpu for the same price where I am at. Slightly larger battery at 70 Wh, better speakers.
      The biggest downside on the legion to me is the fan problem. I'll have to see if I can live with that.
      But the port, charging flexibility is more important to me than if there is an ever so slightly bigger battery, the speakers and (hopefully) the noise.
      I would pick the Victus if it had type C charging probably.
      Even at these price points you have to make compromise sadly apparently.

    Legions prices are crazy this year. Last year they were the best value laptops, this year 3060 Legion is more expensive than a 3060 Zephyrus G14 where I live. If it weren't for no additional M.2 slot on Zephyrus (I need it for additional SSD, as I have one from my old PC) I'd be daily driving a G14 despite much lower GPU TGP, as the overall quality is much better. Not to say that Legions are low quality, but they just don't compare when the pricing is similar.

If the question you're asking is "I have X dollars, what is the best thing i can buy for that money" the answer most likely will be a Legion. How one earth are you getting this much battery backup from these laptops? I've tried doing everything in power, and discussed a lot within posts on Reddit, and nothing helps. The most one can do is severely undervolt their CPU, bring down the refresh date, and take other drastic steps of this sort to maybe extract a 5-hour battery out of the Legion 5.

    • @nikovbn839
      @nikovbn839 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Glossy = usually slightly better colors, but reflect everything (like a mirror pretty much)
      Matte = usually slightly worse colors, but no reflections
      Never go for a glossy panel, you will hate it, trust me, it's terrible. Besides - it's much less true nowadays, even cheaper matte panels have very good colors and brightness now. There is zero advantages for going gloss. Unless you want to see yourself and everything behind you instead of the screen.
      Just google for more info.

    In Finland a victus with 3050 and 8gb of ram costs 1100E and a legion 5 with 16gb and a 3060 runs about 1150-1200 without a sale and you can find them on 10-15% sale in every shop (some have the lower spec one on sale and some the higher one) So L5 ends up about 100-170d cheaper with way better specs XD

    i think me choosing Legion was a better decision, had to spend less money on it. it doesnt habe RGB keyboard which i dont really care, it would be cool if i had it but without it, not really an issue, uses up more battery and creates unnecessary traffic for the battery while gaming

      it is possible, but the hardware would have to be configured for it to begin with.
      Alienware did this recently where there mux switch was physically there but they was no way of using it through software. They later made it available through a bios update.

    RTX 4060 8GB Vram
    16GB DDR5 memory. And all that for 1050 euros.
    The legion 5 looks and feels more premium in my opinion but with an
    AMD RYZEN 7 5800H 5TH gen
    16gb DDR4 memory
    RTX 3060 6GB Vram. Total price 1500 euros. There is a big difference in price. You do get a 1440p screen instead of 1080p. However that didnt justify the price difference for me so i went for the Victus. More bang for your buck in my opinion.

      you would also have to wait for the review AND if you want to be 100% sure that you get the best one, you would also wait for Jarrod's 2022 best Laptop review which would come out around November 2022..

    Hi. Thanks alot for comp. Can I ask ur opinion? Which one of tnem is better in cooling system. Now chose between legion5pro and Victus16. Both of them is based on 12700 + 3060

      Idk about lenovo but i just brought victus(2022) like 2 days ago and themps are pretty good. The fans are a tiny bit loud but that's a trade off that I'll take for lower temps.
      It does get a lil warm after a while but nothing too crazy. Also the only area that gets warm is the center of the keyboard, which is good because your hands are mostly gonna be on the sides not the centet
