The relationship part is a challenge for pilots and flight attendants, being away from family and partners for potentially long periods of time. Finding a partner capable of living and operating alone for long stretches can be difficult for them. But it can work, I’m one of those people and I’m content when he’s out flying and when he’s home. @aspire to be the change, you will work just about every weekend and holiday for a long time, unless you are at a junior base. The best place and time to start working as a flight attendant is when hiring starts so the classes behind you move you up in seniority. Probation is 6 months unless you do something that causes Delta to extend that, such as not commute into your base in time for your shift. The easiest way to deal with probation is to think of it as an introductory period between you and your employer. They are getting to know you and you are getting to know them.

Hi! This was super helpful, thank you so much! I have a question for you in regards to the commuter flights that you would use when commuting to your "home airport" where you would always fly out of for work: I am assuming the company pays for them for you? Or do you book your own and are on standby? Is getting home from the airport, when you return, the same situation? Thank you!
question, although I know you filmed this awhile back, I'm dating a woman who has a amazing career with the government, she saw a blogger she follows highlights that she's a flight attendant, now she's thinking of switching careers, here's the reality, she has 4 kids and doesn't miss anything when it comes to them, birthdays, holidays, homecoming, she won't even get on the phone when cooking or doing her daughters hair, she believes she can just be domestic and be home like her 9 to 5, im not thinking she's being realistic, I'd like your opinion
Because when you first get hired, your base preference is dependent on sonority. When you’re new, you don’t have any sonority built up, so unfortunately, you have to be based on where the airline places you. Commuting is a HUGE factor that you have to weigh in, if you’re considering becoming a flight attendant. (For example, you may live in Arizona, but you’re based in Texas. Which means, you have to drive back and forth - or catch a commuter flight - every time you have to work.)
If you live in a place where there isn’t a base then you don’t have the option of being based where you are from. Also, some bases are very senior. Typically Los Angeles is very senior for example. If you are from there you can put your name on a list to transfer into that base when a space opens and you are senior enough to get it. Everything in the airline industry is based on seniority.

Nope unless your the Flash and is incredibly smart (Which I don't doubt you are) It won't work out. It also depends what college you go to and what you are studying for in the future. Being a Flight attendant is really hard on you have so many flights to do that you might even Miss Classes. If you already have sleepless Nights studying then You won't have fun being a Flight attendant. Best thing you can Do is wait until you graduate.

If you don’t mind me asking did you work full time because I want to this but I’m listening to everyone experience being a flight attendant it’s disappointing
Deep down most fa’s hate the job but will never admit to it because that would brake the image. We are too invested into it as many people move their home and life to start this careers, that in itself makes it even harder to take the plunge and quit. This career will make you see the world but it will also brake you
1- its tough, ur body gets tired from all the flights and the germs around you
2- so many sleepless nights because of different timezones
3- you get sick from flying just like you get carsick (dizzy, nauseous, etc.)
4- commuting is so hard, it takes way too much time
5- its hard to be in a relationship when you're a flight attendant

I have a question for you in regards to the commuter flights that you would use when commuting to your "home airport" where you would always fly out of for work: I am assuming the company pays for them for you? Or do you book your own and are on standby? Is getting home from the airport, when you return, the same situation?
Thank you!
No the airline does not pay for your commuter flight. You fly standby for free.
question, although I know you filmed this awhile back, I'm dating a woman who has a amazing career with the government, she saw a blogger she follows highlights that she's a flight attendant, now she's thinking of switching careers, here's the reality, she has 4 kids and doesn't miss anything when it comes to them, birthdays, holidays, homecoming, she won't even get on the phone when cooking or doing her daughters hair, she believes she can just be domestic and be home like her 9 to 5, im not thinking she's being realistic, I'd like your opinion
wait why couldn’t your base be where you were from?
This video was super informative!! These were things I’ve thought and were nervous about 🥴
Wow.... my back and neck currently huts from sitting in the jumpsuit all day. Great advice, massages and a chiropractor is definitely necessary.
Good job, be safe sister. Peace and Power be upon you.
I’ve got a virtual interview coming up with delta for flight attendant. I’m really excited, but really nervous! This helps
Make it?
@@mr.international23 I did, actually! Im invited to Atlanta for an orientation day. I haven’t filled out the paperwork yet, though
@@user-ol7pk3qp2d damn that’s what’s up! I just applied tonight . Passed their questionnaire stage . Now to do their virtual tryout .
@@mr.international23 good luck to you! My advice: log in 30
Mins before your virtual interview and ensure your connection works and you know how to access the Tri-Def webcam
@@user-ol7pk3qp2d thank you. I think the virtual tryout is automated? Not actual employees interviewing me ?
This was a really great and informative video!!
Is there a stronger word for stress on missing your commuter flight 😅🥴🙃😂 .. Not a fan on commuting now
Why didn't you move to your base location, solving your commuting situation. I've worked a few jobs and they all came with a probationary period.
Hi can you please do a video on commuting? I’d love to hear your perspective
I knew right away u was in Hawaii when I seen the windows & brick wall lol
I across your video and was curious about the things you be would sharing. Wow very interesting but I would never want to be a flight attendant. The getting sick all the time doesn't sound fun.
Reservists are on a probation for 6-9 mos. it seems exciting but very challenging.
Girl... former DL F/A as well... had to jumpseat to commute back to LGA 🙄 it was tough... I would leave and go home to SFO and was still on RR hoping they wouldn't call me...
Lol that place looks like the apartments on Dillingham in oahu, i regonize those walls
I want to become a flight attendant, when is the best time to apply? Or do I apply whenever there is a position open?
I get car sick ,But when im on a plane im fine
This has been a really informative video.
i genuinely enjoyed this video. it was educational *and* entertaining. that's great content.
Thanks for the info.
Excellent content and delivery. New subscriber.
This was helpful and were you on mainline
I was yes
Hey I see the cross tattoo on your wrist. Did you have to keepit covered? Did anyone check for it?
I am sorry, but in this day and age where people talk about these things on TH-cam all the time, there is no excuse. It’s called doing your research.
Period!
But it’s different when you are personally experiencing it yourself she is saying
Do you still live in Hawaii? I currently live in Hawaii and I'm trying to become a flight attendant
Hi Renee I would like some info about the FA training please please. I have applied and waiting now. So in the meantime I would like to get ready because everyone says it’s a beats
Do you think this is a job someone could do while still in college?
Definitely not
Nope unless your the Flash and is incredibly smart (Which I don't doubt you are) It won't work out. It also depends what college you go to and what you are studying for in the future. Being a Flight attendant is really hard on you have so many flights to do that you might even Miss Classes. If you already have sleepless Nights studying then You won't have fun being a Flight attendant. Best thing you can Do is wait until you graduate.
I’ve been a flight attendant for the same company for 4 years. It is possible if you attend virtually.
Unless you do Distance Learning, no you can't
On point! Thank you 💕
CarlaTravels thanks for watching and commenting! 🙏🏾
Great video 👍!!
thank you for this video! I am 16 and want to be a flight attendant after I graduate high school. I have a question, should I get some sort of a college degree to become a flight attendant? and should I work a year in customer service before applying for this career?
That’s what I’d like to know as well 😩
You only need a high school diploma, they will put you through 3-6 weeks worth of training and customer service is recommended I believe.
Hi there its nice to meet you!
I want to become a flight attendant i travel a lot . But i heard you have to be 21 to apply . Is training hard.?
I need more advise. I am older wanting to become flight attendant. 59. Please starting journey. What else do I need to know. Is testing hard
I really want to be a flight attendant
How long after training do you usually start working?
Are you a full time coach in Hawaii? Or do y have another job?
I just hate how I can’t have my piercings. That drives me insane about the FA life
If you don’t mind me asking did you work full time because I want to this but I’m listening to everyone experience being a flight attendant it’s disappointing
I worked full time
Did you have to pay for your stays during layovers?
Have you got tips on how I can be a flight attendant for corporate flight?
That slow moment is golden😂”perspective”
So at first you cant pick the days off you want?
My dream is to become a flight attendant. I don't know where to start or where to apply
Me too but check some Facebook pages
How old are you? Cause you have to be at least 21.
please add a video on commuting
Deep down most fa’s hate the job but will never admit to it because that would brake the image. We are too invested into it as many people move their home and life to start this careers, that in itself makes it even harder to take the plunge and quit.
This career will make you see the world but it will also brake you
*break
Not true. I love my job.
@@Sha2ronS them not knowing how to spell break* ruined their whole comment, wouldn’t take them seriously
