Girl all of this is sooooo true they don’t tell you nothing in training. I’m waiting for a line at my base cause my home base is so senior I will be on reserve forever! I’m waiting it out! This job definitely is a lifestyle and not as glamorous as people think!
The pay is a real struggle. After I saw my last pay check I was like 👀👀👀. Also I need to prep food wayyy more cuz I’m spending way to much for food on the road. Im an F/A for NK as well. Food is costing me the most. Just reached my six months hoping this pay raise will help
@@Christain214 nice to meet you! I’m based in ATL. They stay sending me on 4 days all the time. I tried to prep for the last one but it was a fail I still ended up wasting food smh. I need to get like you lol!
I’m strongly considering transferring to ATL by the end of the year. I’ve watched a lot of meal prep videos.. and ultimately I just have to be disciplined I’m going on another 4 day this upcoming week. When I get home from RDY I’ll be in the kitchen meal prepping
😭😭😭it gets better I promise! And yes, meal prepping is going to save you tons trust me. Get you some good lil containers and hook some up, don’t have to be nothing gourmet lol 🍴
You are precious! This was the most informative video I’ve watched and you have such wisdom and poise in the advice that you offer. I head to training in about 60 days. Thank you for giving me some gems 💎 of info. ❤
I love ur content this is very helpful I’m 17 and been wanting to become flight attend since I was 13 watching every single video before coming im very serious about this job lol
I’m also an FA for a Canadian Airline and what you said is ON POINT. The pay sucks BIG TIME !!! Definitely have SAVINGS at least 6 months from training to the first 6 months after you start work. I’ve been working for almost 2 years and the money still sucks til now unless you pick up extra shifts or take a buy out.
@@indigoGoddess7 yes I do speak another language but for the airline I work for is not required but I think would help especially if you speak French that is one language that would help a lot.
@@christinac25 yes if you can and if your second job will work around your schedule. I personally don’t have a second job but a lot of my other colleagues do. I try to take extra shifts here and there if I can.
Thanks so much for the video! I start training with your airline this month!! I’ve been doing research for years but you and one other person are the only two current FAs for this airline that I see on YT. I know every airline is different so I want to know what I can specifically expect. Your videos are super super helpful! Thanks for your transparency, even your videos outside of being a FA feed my spirit 💛
Well, ever since I moved out of Florida, I've been away from my people for 2 years now, and I'm separating, So I have nothing to lose now. As for the pay, it can't be worse than what I'm making right now.
This was great advice for people wanting to become a flight attendant, even after all of the points you made, I personally think I would be able to handle it and it would be worth it. I heard your partner/spouse can get free tickets or discounted tickets as well? That would be cool, especially for when we have a family, flying would be a lot easier and cheaper. Thank you for this video!! 💕
Yaayyy I love to hear that! Lol it didn’t stop me either it was totally worth it 🤣 and yes your spouse/children fly for free on standby as well as a few others and buddy passes! Amazing benefits. No prob 😊💕
I love how real and spot on your video is. All facts. People have to do their research because when your a new hire the company gone use you for real lol.
Your tips are always on point! By the way, have you come across the new V4 of the Bento Bag from Nomad Lane? As someone who loves efficient and stylish travel gear, it might be something you'd find interesting for your future adventures.
This video was one of the most informative I've seen, I didn't know about the luggage situation. Is there a website you can recommend for the crash pads that offers transportation/kitchen?
For crashpad recommendations I always recommend joining Facebook groups, and also typing in “(city) crashpads” in google. That’s how I researched and found mine for Dallas and Chicago! 💗
First think you should have explained was what living at base means and what is a crash pad .. can’t just keep using this terminology with no explanation 😅it’s confusing
Christina, You’re amazing! Great content again as always. I was looking forward to flying with you again at IAH before I left NK, but well wishes, keep growing stronger 👏! ~ BEN ✈️!
Can you explain crash pad? Does the airline pay your hotel? Or do you get a discount when you stay elsewhere? Or is coming back home on a flight a possibility?
Crash pad is where you’ll stay if you have to commute in and out of base in between your assigned trips. The airline pays for hotels DURING your assigned trips only, NOT for commuting. (However some do, ex. You may get 8 free nights a month.) lots of hotels near airports do have commuter prices. Yes coming straight home is a possibility though, all just depends on your flight times. Sleeping in the crew room is also an option! 💗
I’m considering it but the loneliness would kill me…. especially since I’m so attached to my man and it’s hard for me to be away from him! 😭 but at the same time ugh I wanna do this!!
I definitelyy feel you, once I settle down ima want to be at home more 🤣 but at the same time don’t let your dream pass you by! May take a little time, but eventually you’ll be able to set up your own schedule to your liking 🥰 maybe work more turns
I know for sure that SouthWest airlines allow your spouse, kids, and your parents to travel free. If you work there then you can get unlimited travel as long as there is room on the plane
This is so helpful because my training starts next month and I need to prepare my self for commuting and food preppin im just torn between FLL and IAH. Does our airline 😊 pay for nights at a hotel?
It means you are now in control of your schedule, you know what trips you are working for the entire month. On reserve means basically you’re just on call
Who said that? 🤣😂 well they are after a couple years and seniority has been built. They very well may be paid more in other countries outside of the U.S. though!
Lineholder means you have your entire schedule for the month! Vs being on reserve, you aren’t sure of where or when you’re flying to until about 1 day-2 hours beforehand 💕

Sometimes yes, sometimes your desired base may not be opened at the time of hiring so you’d have to wait until it opens back up 💗
iam emirates flight attendant so don't struggle with transportation and accommodation they r provided to us thank god
Ooouuu just flew them back in April, 10/10 experience!😍✈️

What do you mean when you say "get a line"
When you go to base for training for six weeks do you stay at a hotel?
May be a hotel or their training facility
Does the same apply for those working the desk before boarding ? Do they have to travel to different airports or is it stationary job
The gate agents? Their job is stationary at 1 airport, but they still get travel benefits 💗

Hi!! You apply online 🥰 check for opening windows because they usually aren’t hiring for FA’s year round. Hope to see you in the skies soon Jackie 💗✈️
Is it hard to get a flight attendant job if you have tattoos?
As long as you’re able to fully cover them while in uniform, you should be good
I’m going become flight attendant 🛩️
Let’s goooo 🥳
when would be a good age to get hired?
ASAP lol but most airlines are 21! 🥰
What do you mean by getting a line?
Lineholder means you have your entire schedule for the month! Vs being on reserve, you aren’t sure of where or when you’re flying to until about 1 day-2 hours beforehand 💕
Wassup mami? I’m an American living in Toronto. Have you ever been out here?
Do you get days off during reserve or know what days you’ll have off ?!
Yes you get days off, schedules are month to month 💕
Can you go over pay?
I will definitely work on covering that more in depth!
Are you a Jamaican?. Which airlines hire straight Jamaicans??
Are you able to be a flight attendant with a small dog❓❓
You’d have to have someone to leave them with on the days you’re working or pay for doggy daycare 😁
Why does it take so long to get a line?
Because there are only a certain amount of lines allotted to each base, and they are awarded by seniority
I'm new
How long do you wait to get your line?
It varies!!
I am going to start cleaning business than
That’d be great!!
How much do they pay?
First year is like $23-25….we just got a new contract w pay raise and I only got the old one lol
