Fun fact if you didn't know, in DMC3 one of Dantes weapons is called Nevan. It's a scythe that can use lightning and also an electric guitar. Like dante will play it and summon a swarm of bats a lightning to attack with. The cutscene of him getting it is even just him jamming out on it.
Yes! DMC3 is my favorite from the series. I would HIGHLY recommend "Suffer" and "Divine Hate", if you like the vibe. As an additional note, I like that you can feel how Dante changes as a person from DMC3 to DMC4 and 5 from his battle themes.
As an aside, this song is perfect for DMC3. The more heavy vocals represents, in a way, the freedom one has a young adult, not yet burdened with the full responsibilities of a full adult, but with most of its freedoms. Dante feels he is free to do whatever he pleases at the start of the game. The softer vocals represent Lady at the beginning, and late-game Dante, where he is burdened with the responsibilities of his family history, but this is what gives him strength. He has accepted his responsibilities to humanity, having shed tears for a lost loved one, he has a heart and therefore human. Such a simple but brilliantly told and excecuted story, this is what differentiates DMC3 from the later iterations (and what is entirely missing in the attrocity that is DmC).

In this first 7 missions, dante doesn't have feelings, after that he becomes more human after 10th mission and that's the evangelic voice telling that dante is more human and mission 20 is how gives more attention to his human side than devil side. Why? If you hear it, u feel more the evangelic voice more than the demonic voice. This is because mission 20 says "cast off your pride and accept your fate" meaning that his demonic side had pride and that he should accept the things as a human

I love when music mixes elements from different genres. The angelic choir opening, the translation to industrial rock action, the ambient vocals being layered with the main vocalist.
There is no Angels in the universe, that is clearly Dante as you can tell the demon is of justice and wishing to eradicate demons like Sparda which is his son, in that case that demon is Dante and I mean that as in the actual demon but you also get Dante is a human, legit Dante is both but the vocals have him more hostile, twisted and sadistic.
This is my favorite DMC ever, but the reason why is a bit unique. This game came out right when I was rehabilitating from a complete spinal fusion (10.5 hours under the knife) and had to wait for about a year before I could get both hips replaced (which I did), because with every significant movement of my lower body, my hips would AUDIBLY pop in and out of their sockets. It was LESS fun than it sounds. This song hit me at a time where I needed to tap into something deeper than I thought I had inside of myself to push through the pain of rehab. DMC remains my favorite post-2000 video game series ever.
Favorite is definitely Devil May Cry 5 for me. They took all my favorite aspects of Devil May Cry 3, 4, and even the DmC reboot and then cranked it all up to the max. It's a fantastic finale to Dante's story.
I honestly like the reboot aswell. It was something different, for sure, but I absolutely loved the whole presentation, the music, the combat and the vibes it gave. Far more then 4.

The music of DMC3 has always been phenomenal, and still holds up to the best of the recent games. For me, 3 and 4 are tied for my favorite. 3 was a game that made my childhood and is one I still go back to play from time to time, and 4 took the gameplay that made 3 so amazing and added a new character to keep the same stuff from getting stale.
I’ve had stretches of my life where I’ll come back to this song and listen to it on repeat for months and it always gives me goosebumps when I hear the chanting combined with the raspy vocals half through the song.
it had confused me for awhile what the clear lyrics theme was towards the latter half. it's actually Lady's theme. Vergil's theme was path to power. DMC3 holds a very special place in my heart as the one that saved the entire franchise.

For the longest time DMC 3 was my favorite until 5 came out and when I played it, it instantly blew to the #1 spot cause badass music, badass gameplay and fun characters and for me personally DMC 3 was the first game that gave me the feeling of "I need to beat this no matter how long it takes and I had played the original release on the PS2
I adore all of the DMC games, though admittedly 2 is more of an interest in what happened behind the scenes (Matt McMuscles did a good breakdown of what happened) but as far as favorite goes... I'm honestly hard pressed to pick between 3 and 5. Both have great stories and killer gameplay with some of the best soundtracks out there. And the first game remains a timeless classic too with some of the best cheese in voice acting history. If you like gothic atmosphere, metal, and rule of cool nonsense I cannot recommend this series enough.
It was such an experience playing this game as a kid for the first time and this song comes on while you're building up combos, this game will have a special place in my heart forever

If you want to dive right in the feels I suggest watching a gameplay with no commentary of the 4th and playing DmC V by yourself. It's such a fun and unique sequel :)

what i love about this song is that it represents the main 2 characters the metal part is Dante (protagonist) and his chaotic personality and style and the gospel one is his brother Vergil (antagonist) and his calm and swift personality and at the end we hear the final clash of them both, battle of both personalities showing something absolutely beautiful and amazing
The song also represents Dante's inner conflict during the course of the game on his demonic ancestry and whether he should try to make it a part of himself or completely deny it in favour of what little humanity he has left, with the ending signifying Dante's new-found understanding of his demonic heritage and the resurgence of the humanity he almost drowned under the facade of a clown.
Yakuza/Ryū ga Gotoku my favorite game series ever, it has an amazing ost . A few of my favorites are A Scattered Moment(every time i hear it i get goosebumps) ,Pledge of Demon are some of my favorites, plus the karaoke songs the character sing
while i adore DMC5's battle tracks, devil's never cry is probably the closest thing DMC has to a theme song. even the opening tells you ever thing you need to know about the franchise. It starts with this haunting angelic chorus then the true song begins playing, completely and unapologetically subverting everything you were expecting it to be. much like the start of the first devil may cry

DMC 3 introduced the style switching (switch version to me) and loved it. 4 was enjoyable SWORD-TRICK-SWORD-TRICK and 5 had the best OST's I've personally heard in years
DMC 3 is the first DMC I ever played so it's always had a soft spot in my heart, but I also really love the newer ones with Virgil. Speaking of, if you liked DMC and would like to hear more music from the franchise I would suggest "Devil Trigger" from DMC 5, I know Bury the Light has already been suggested but Devil Trigger is also a banger. DMC 3 made me a massive fan of the franchise. I play dmc 3 , 4 and 5 once week (usually), ever since their releases. (Bloody palace mostly) I’ve got about 4 diff copies of dmc 3, 2 copies of dmc 4, and 2 copies of dmc 5, all on different systems, all different editions and some with mods. The fighting mechanics are unbeatable. No other game can even come close. Just watch any “True style tournament” on you tube. And the music... *chefs kiss*
This song...helped me launch my music career (it was heavily inspiring to me). And, the main vocalist (heavy vocals), Shawn "Shootie HG" McPherson is an absolute gem. Seriously, the game and the theme song saved my life...and launched me into my life's path. Love this song. It helped define me. Shootie, years later, has been in Final Fantasy soundtracks (as recently as FFVII: Rebirth, as of time of writing this comment). His track "No Chance," plays into his signature Devil May Cry style. Rock on, man. Your video made my day. I'm glad it popped in my recommended.
My favorite DMC is definitely 5, but it's not the best. That's probably 3. It still has older Capcom jank, and the soundtrack is great. The only one that is tough to get into is DmC, which was a "reboot" that was panned by fans and critics alike, but it's sound mechanically. Oddly, I feel like the worst in the franchise is 2, even worse than the reboot. Most tracks from DMC 5 are worth looking into. Devil Trigger, Crimson Cloud, Subhuman. All are amazing. And yes, Bury The Light.
My favorite game from the series is by far DMC3 because i grew up with it, probably put a couple thousand hours in it and used to jam all the songs in my mp3 at school. DMC5 is a close 2nd because of all the fan service Capcom did and how clean and smooth the game is.
Devil May Cry 3. Naturally. It brings back and masters all of what is good about the first two, and kicks out many weaknesses- they weren't many, but they were debilitating.

Played DMC 3 back in elementary school on PC, with lags and low fps. But even this did not prevent you from enjoying this truly masterpiece game. Later, having already matured, i played the rest of the parts (except for 1 and 2). And in my heart it is part 3, because this is not just a slasher (and this is a really cool representative of the genre). This is an interesting story of relationships between brothers, a story of rejection of one's true nature, denial of humanity on the one hand and demonic essence on the other. Other parts also have drive, good jokes and a general concept, but it is Dantes Awakening that is a classic and legendary game. My respect to the developers. It is a pity that this series of games will never return to its previous level, but devil never cry.
That vocalist is Shawn "Shootie HG" McPherson of Hostile Groove, a super cool guy to talk to who's got a lot more talents besides vocals and guitar! He's always been really cool with fans and years ago he sent me a Hostile Groove package just for guessing some songs he played with Dan Welby on a youtube band practice! I wish they were more active because he's a really unique talent and person, love the guy and I'm proud to know him, even if it is just online!
Surprisingly my favorite is DMC 5? but Mostly because i had so much of the other games growing up? Its super fanservice all over the place, and the controls with having 3 main characters was super satisfying. DMC 3 is probably one of the best ones for sure.
One game with some of my favorite music is Xenoblade Chronicles. More specifically the Definitive Edition that released recently because for most of the music they were able to take the classic MIDI/synthesized tracks and do actual studio recordings for them. My top 3 songs from Xenoblade Chronicles are probably You Will Know Our Names, Unfinished Business, and Engage the Enemy. All 10/10 tracks for me
Xenoblade never had midi-quality music. And many people, including me, actually think the songs in the original are mostly better. For me, I like t how the originals sound more raw. The new ones often sound too polished and tend to oversell certain parts while underselling some essential parts.

DMC3 the best for story. The story isn't a Godfather like epic for narratives, but the execution DMC3's narrative is impeccable.

DMC3 is my favorite. The difficulty is right there as well as the puzzles and combat and weapon variations.
I’ve had stretches of my life where I’ll come back to this song and listen to it on repeat for months and it always gives me goosebumps when I hear the chanting combined with the raspy vocals half through the song.
it had confused me for awhile what the clear lyrics theme was towards the latter half. it's actually Lady's theme. Vergil's theme was path to power.
DMC3 holds a very special place in my heart as the one that saved the entire franchise.
My favorite DMC is 3, because the Dante design, the weapons, the humor, the music, I love everything in DMC 3, and it is the first DMC I played, so I have a sentimental appreciation to this game
5 is the epitome of everything that came before it and it's a love letter to the series as a whole. You can't beat it
For the longest time DMC 3 was my favorite until 5 came out and when I played it, it instantly blew to the #1 spot cause badass music, badass gameplay and fun characters and for me personally DMC 3 was the first game that gave me the feeling of "I need to beat this no matter how long it takes and I had played the original release on the PS2
So agreed. Dmc3 has always been on the pinnacle of my Olympus for action games, but when 5 came out it blew my fucking mind

I adore all of the DMC games, though admittedly 2 is more of an interest in what happened behind the scenes (Matt McMuscles did a good breakdown of what happened) but as far as favorite goes... I'm honestly hard pressed to pick between 3 and 5. Both have great stories and killer gameplay with some of the best soundtracks out there. And the first game remains a timeless classic too with some of the best cheese in voice acting history. If you like gothic atmosphere, metal, and rule of cool nonsense I cannot recommend this series enough.
It was such an experience playing this game as a kid for the first time and this song comes on while you're building up combos, this game will have a special place in my heart forever
man I haven't heard DMC music in a long ass time and this is just bringing waves of nostalgia back to me, such a fantastic ost. loved watching you fall in love with it, hope you do more songs from the series!
edit: my fave DMC is the first one but 100% because of the nostalgia of playing it with my buds back in the day. I'm almost certain the 3rd one is much improved in many areas, but the first was just so ridiculous that it'll always hold a place in my heart lol
If you want to dive right in the feels I suggest watching a gameplay with no commentary of the 4th and playing DmC V by yourself. It's such a fun and unique sequel :)

Devil May Cry 4 Shall Never Surrender. DMC4 was my favorite out of the 5 games. It was the one I played most out of all of them.
The song is about his demon and human side fighting , the first side demon says that he will never become a man and accept his demonic traits , the second part is his human good side too calm him and turns into the light side 🙏🏻
what i love about this song is that it represents the main 2 characters
the metal part is Dante (protagonist) and his chaotic personality and style
and the gospel one is his brother Vergil (antagonist) and his calm and swift personality
and at the end
we hear the final clash of them both, battle of both personalities showing something absolutely beautiful and amazing
The song also represents Dante's inner conflict during the course of the game on his demonic ancestry and whether he should try to make it a part of himself or completely deny it in favour of what little humanity he has left, with the ending signifying Dante's new-found understanding of his demonic heritage and the resurgence of the humanity he almost drowned under the facade of a clown.
Yakuza/Ryū ga Gotoku my favorite game series ever, it has an amazing ost . A few of my favorites are A Scattered Moment(every time i hear it i get goosebumps) ,Pledge of Demon are some of my favorites, plus the karaoke songs the character sing
while i adore DMC5's battle tracks, devil's never cry is probably the closest thing DMC has to a theme song. even the opening tells you ever thing you need to know about the franchise. It starts with this haunting angelic chorus then the true song begins playing, completely and unapologetically subverting everything you were expecting it to be. much like the start of the first devil may cry
Dmc 3 was my favorite. It was over the top with kickass music. The weapons were badass, level design was solid and the story was good

DMC 3 introduced the style switching (switch version to me) and loved it. 4 was enjoyable SWORD-TRICK-SWORD-TRICK and 5 had the best OST's I've personally heard in years
DMC 3 is the first DMC I ever played so it's always had a soft spot in my heart, but I also really love the newer ones with Virgil. Speaking of, if you liked DMC and would like to hear more music from the franchise I would suggest "Devil Trigger" from DMC 5, I know Bury the Light has already been suggested but Devil Trigger is also a banger.
Edit: Also I love that you keep talking about Infected Mushrooms I've been listening to them for what feels like forever.

DMC 3 made me a massive fan of the franchise.
I play dmc 3 , 4 and 5 once week (usually), ever since their releases. (Bloody palace mostly)
I’ve got about 4 diff copies of dmc 3, 2 copies of dmc 4, and 2 copies of dmc 5, all on different systems, all different editions and some with mods.
The fighting mechanics are unbeatable.
No other game can even come close.
Just watch any “True style tournament” on you tube.

This song...helped me launch my music career (it was heavily inspiring to me). And, the main vocalist (heavy vocals), Shawn "Shootie HG" McPherson is an absolute gem. Seriously, the game and the theme song saved my life...and launched me into my life's path.
Love this song. It helped define me. Shootie, years later, has been in Final Fantasy soundtracks (as recently as FFVII: Rebirth, as of time of writing this comment). His track "No Chance," plays into his signature Devil May Cry style.

My favorite DMC is definitely 5, but it's not the best. That's probably 3. It still has older Capcom jank, and the soundtrack is great. The only one that is tough to get into is DmC, which was a "reboot" that was panned by fans and critics alike, but it's sound mechanically. Oddly, I feel like the worst in the franchise is 2, even worse than the reboot. Most tracks from DMC 5 are worth looking into. Devil Trigger, Crimson Cloud, Subhuman. All are amazing. And yes, Bury The Light.
But even as it carries that jank, it really _masters_ it. It feels intentional and by desing rather than a weakness of technology.

My favorite game from the series is by far DMC3 because i grew up with it, probably put a couple thousand hours in it and used to jam all the songs in my mp3 at school. DMC5 is a close 2nd because of all the fan service Capcom did and how clean and smooth the game is.
Devil May Cry 3. Naturally. It brings back and masters all of what is good about the first two, and kicks out many weaknesses- they weren't many, but they were debilitating.

Played DMC 3 back in elementary school on PC, with lags and low fps. But even this did not prevent you from enjoying this truly masterpiece game. Later, having already matured, i played the rest of the parts (except for 1 and 2). And in my heart it is part 3, because this is not just a slasher (and this is a really cool representative of the genre). This is an interesting story of relationships between brothers, a story of rejection of one's true nature, denial of humanity on the one hand and demonic essence on the other. Other parts also have drive, good jokes and a general concept, but it is Dantes Awakening that is a classic and legendary game. My respect to the developers. It is a pity that this series of games will never return to its previous level, but devil never cry.

That vocalist is Shawn "Shootie HG" McPherson of Hostile Groove, a super cool guy to talk to who's got a lot more talents besides vocals and guitar! He's always been really cool with fans and years ago he sent me a Hostile Groove package just for guessing some songs he played with Dan Welby on a youtube band practice! I wish they were more active because he's a really unique talent and person, love the guy and I'm proud to know him, even if it is just online!

Surprisingly my favorite is DMC 5? but Mostly because i had so much of the other games growing up? Its super fanservice all over the place, and the controls with having 3 main characters was super satisfying.
DMC 3 is probably one of the best ones for sure.

One game with some of my favorite music is Xenoblade Chronicles. More specifically the Definitive Edition that released recently because for most of the music they were able to take the classic MIDI/synthesized tracks and do actual studio recordings for them. My top 3 songs from Xenoblade Chronicles are probably You Will Know Our Names, Unfinished Business, and Engage the Enemy. All 10/10 tracks for me
Xenoblade never had midi-quality music. And many people, including me, actually think the songs in the original are mostly better. For me, I like t how the originals sound more raw. The new ones often sound too polished and tend to oversell certain parts while underselling some essential parts.
