Fun fact about how some of the themes from the game work is that they become more present as you play better or more "stylish". When you fight enemies in the game, you build up a style meter that essentially grades how well you weave combos, avoid enemy attacks, and mix up what you do in interesting ways (aka not simply using the same move again and again). Starting a fight you get a purely ambient version of this and other tracks, but when you build up through the style ranks (D, C, B, A, S, SS, and SSS) the lyrics start coming in to match your performance. It's an awesome way to highlight the player's own mastery of the game and support more stylish/exciting fights with music that shifts depending on how things are going. It was also hilarious hearing about how some people didn't hear the lyrical version of the tracks because they weren't playing "stylishly".
Exactly, when you master this game’s mechanics the combat and the stage become a demonic rave. Where you as one of the 3 main characters are the artist of destruction. Nero being pure savagery, Dante being the joy of carnage, Vergil the meticulous bringer of death.
Tfw I play as Vergil to experience Bury the light in its gameplay glory but he's too OP and after literally 4 moves it already jumps to SS and I'm suddenly hit by "I AM THE STORM THAT IS APPROACHING" without build up
One of the coolest things about DMC5 is how Devil Trigger, Crimson Cloud (V's battle theme), and Bury The Light weave together and tell a story that supplements the actual writing in the game in a way that's extremely cool for series fans to see the payoff to, but also just not something that can be done in isolation. Animation, music, and writing all coming together in one of the hypest climaxes I've seen in video games.
Having listened to Bury the Light earlier I started noticing the parallels and counterpoints in the lyrics, like "There is no way to contain this storm swelling inside me", and of course Bury the Light has I AM THE STORM THAT IS APPROACHING And then the Bury the Light and Devil Trigger have counterpoints about light and darkness and suppressing them
And then there's Subhuman that's just... kind of there. It's a strange feeling when you realise that Dante has pulled the short straw when it comes to music.
@@user-cb4vt3qm3j Nah, I'd say crimson cloud is kinda just...there. Subhuman is a good character theme for Dante, but due to it being a slower song, it doesn't match the speed of Dante's gameplay, and therefore doesn't hit the same as a BATTLE theme.
@@gatfatf Holy shit you're right, it perfectly matches up with the final chorus of bury the light. Good spot. I always wondered why I'd end up singing that part of bury the light over this section of devil trigger by accident

So don't know if anyone brought it up, but this theme is basically about Nero finally fully accepting himself. He's introduced in DMC4 as part Demon, but hating that about himself and always trying to hide it from the world. By the end of DMC5 he's fully embraced his heritage and even unlocks the most powerful demonic ability that Demons usually get, the Devil Trigger.
Little detail that's very nice : at the beginning of the song, the first two lyrics is "I'll endure the exile" which if reference to a line that Nero utters in DMC4 after unlocking his incomplete Devil Trigger where he doesn't care if he's shun as a demon for all he cares about his to save his love interest Kyrie. Also may I suggest the main theme of Metroid Prime ? A lot of themes in the Prime trilogy are very good to listen to.
Even better when you manage to accidentally (or even deliberately) manage to synch up those "Bang, Bang, Bang!"s with charged shots on juggled enemies mid-combo.
Interesting fact: Vergil’s and Nero’s themes have a shared leitmotif, Casey Edwards saying he wrote Vergil’s theme that way to hint at how they’re family. That, and they’re similar in a few ways.
Context: This is a _dynamic_ battle theme. Different sections and instruments play depending on how well you do. Only when you are absolutely _killing it_ does the most hype part of it play with all instruments; _all_ the characters' battle themes in DMC5 work like that. It ramps up into B rank, further into A rank, and just as you're barely before S, it goes quieter and tense - before you hit that S, and it just breaks into pure hype. :D
How about some Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance boss fight soundtracks? Some were sung by Jason Miller (the same guy who sing FFXIV Shadowbringer and To the Edge), like Rules of Nature for instance.
Each DMC 5 character theme is custom built to portray them beautifully. If you know the personality of a character and their behaviour, they become instantly recognizable through the music.
Apologies for the comment span, but another really cool thing DMC5 does is its dynamic battle themes. The game operates on a stylish meter, dealing damage and changing up your combos to be as visually impressive as possible ups your stylish rank, and depending on the rank, the game plays different sections of the song. You can kind of hear it if you're looking for it in the full thing, how there are slower sections that gradually build and build to the chorus, reflecting the score building. Play well and as you land your big hits, the game accents it with "BANG BANG BANG pull my Devil Trigger"
If you were thinking this would be awesome live -- you'd be 1000% right. Capcom hosted a concert near PAX East one year and the energy, especially to this, was FIRE.
The Order should be Devil Trigger (Nero’s Theme), Subhuman (Dante’s Theme) and Bury the light (Vergil’s theme)! In the Game your Play as Nero, the Protege of Dante which turn out to be the son of Vergil, Dante’s Twin Brother. This way you get to have a full family picture. And also you get to hear the three very different kind of “Devil” they are.
This is such a great track, it would have been very welcome at a Rave. And yeah I can totally understand where you're coming from with Blade, it's sort of got that same energy that the character would fight too. Actually Blade and the DMC crew have a lot in common, that sort of irreverence toward the horrors that they face while looking slick and cool as they fight. DMC is often referred too as a Spectacle Fighter, in which a lot of the animations are meant to look sick and you're encouraged to mix in a lot of different moves into a fight for extra style points. So I could totally see something like that happening with a Blade game if they made one today.

A reaction of any of them would be cool, but I know that reacting to covers isn't really your thing.
I do love this song I really do but it just sounds like late 80's exercise music remixed into some EDM artist's version of metal. Not saying it's bad at all, but it's what I hear.

I bet you would like everything from Finfal Fantasy 7 Remake! To get a feel about this Soundtrack you could start with the Airbuster BossTheme. Every Boss has his own Theme and they are all awesome as fuck!
On the note of DMC5 battle themes, I feel like I need to share a bit regarding Dante's controversial battle theme, "Subhuman". The lyrics are so unintelligible originally that I remember them patching the game so singer would only be a little less screamo.
Literally had nothing to do with it. The original singer had a controversy surrounding him so they got someone else(who happened to be better) to redo the vocals before release.
Greatest song in DMC history. Funny thing is I didn't like Nero, like at all, in 4. 5 changed that, starting with this song - the beginning of Nero's redemption arc, into greatness. The singer is just too good. The thing that kills me about this song is that it's like a perfect blend of electronica and rock.
devil trigger is cool, but bury the light is a masterpiece. also if you want some cool guitars you should check some nocturne soundtracks, I suggest the Title Loop 2 live show from the Chaos-Side Concert. or anything by Shoji Meguro really.

Devil Trigger lyrics in an alternate timeline: _I AM THE GUN THAT IS APPROACHING-_
I'm going to suggest another video game that I think not a lot of people pay attention to, but the music is a huge banger to anyone that knows. Try out Seventh Journey from Dynasty Warriors 8! I think you'll love it! :)
Ooh, heard alot about this game. I'll try my best!
DMC5 is so fucking cool man
I bet you would like everything from Finfal Fantasy 7 Remake!
To get a feel about this Soundtrack you could start with the Airbuster BossTheme.
Every Boss has his own Theme and they are all awesome as fuck!
I have some coming from FF7 soon!
My Devil Trigger has been pulled.
I'd kill to see you react to Persona 5 Royals Rivers in the Desert or I Believe or even just the combat music Take Over
Jesse we need to cook
On the note of DMC5 battle themes, I feel like I need to share a bit regarding Dante's controversial battle theme, "Subhuman".
The lyrics are so unintelligible originally that I remember them patching the game so singer would only be a little less screamo.
Literally had nothing to do with it. The original singer had a controversy surrounding him so they got someone else(who happened to be better) to redo the vocals before release.
@@jammaj5426 Oh, my mistake.
Bury the light will knock your socks off,i promise you

Greatest song in DMC history.
Funny thing is I didn't like Nero, like at all, in 4. 5 changed that, starting with this song - the beginning of Nero's redemption arc, into greatness.
The singer is just too good. The thing that kills me about this song is that it's like a perfect blend of electronica and rock.
I don't mind the original version of this track. But little v's cover is the best 💖
Has anyone requested songs from the fictional band Pentakill from league of legends?
9:10 I can't unthink that now
I know I'm late to the party but the Richard EB cover is soooo much better, even though I love this song as is.
This gives me Initial D energy
devil trigger is cool, but bury the light is a masterpiece.
also if you want some cool guitars you should check some nocturne soundtracks, I suggest the Title Loop 2 live show from the Chaos-Side Concert. or anything by Shoji Meguro really.
The song just isn't the same without the F--- YOU! INTERRUPTION 😂
PLEASE ! you HAVE to listen to Devil May Cry 5- Bury The Light! It may be Right up your alley! :)
I suggest watching this video for that answer
YANG YANG YANG.
