    Ive used one for years. I like it better than any other “manual” litter boxes. BUT with that said… there are some major design flaws (that crop up over time). 1) is the seal between the top and the bottom. The clips are prone to breaking. If litter gets in the channels of the seal, the box will begin to leak out of the seal. 2) The grate between the litter and the storage container begins to loosen over time. Thus after extended use, the grate will pop out of position and become a giant mess. When first assembling the box, I have found that it is best to actual glue/secure the grate to the bottom of the box. 3) The container that the clumped litter is deposited into has an sloped angel at the back that creates a gap between the container and the box … as such the clumped litter towards the back of the box and gets trapped in this gap and is not deposited into the container (and is rolled back into the the main litter box). Your review was fair and good… I do LIKE (not LOVE) the box and agreed with your review. Since most of these issues popped up over time, I just wanted to add my experience with the box over the last 3 or 4 years. Thanks for the review.

      I'm so sorry to hear that. Your family really should let you use the people toilet. Okay, just that one joke, I swear. I've noticed the same problem with the angle of the disposal box. But with the grate the problem I have is it is splitting along the seam where it folds down. I noticed it when I took it apart to clean it the other day. I'll probably just reinforce that bend with some epoxy. I might make a part to cover the gap at the angle of the box also, we'll see.

    We've had this kind for ages. We've replaced it once when it just got to where it didn't feel truly clean any more when we did the periodic full scrub. Part of that was that the clay sticks tighter to a scratched bottom (from cat claws digging) than to a new smooth one. I investigated a bunch of different suggestions for pre-treating when we got our second one, but couldn't settle on anything I felt positive was safe for the cats. To get the clumps, we just give the bottom a good whack or two with our knuckles when the box is upside down and you can hear the clumps falling loose. I chose this box when I first started seriously researching "self-cleaning" boxes because despite their "no effort" promises, all those electric ones still require eventual changing of something and re-filling and often the cost of those materials added up to far more than I wanted to spend (or add to the landfill) when this one is so easy and simple and requires no extra supplies. (We even switched to bio-degradable bags for disposing of the contents of the drawer after I got to thinking about how many bags of soiled litter our cats generate every year. It's truly not THAT heavy, and so it doesn't HAVE to have an extra wide space; we just sort of drag it sideways as we roll and it stays in place. This video did solve one problem for me though: I had been noticing a lot more clean litter coming through with the clumps and getting wasted. I realized after watching that I am rolling too fast. I think I need to pause at halfway (on the side) to give the litter time to sift, THEN continue the roll over to get the clumps in the drawer. That will be a big help!! Thanks!!! Also, from reading other comments, I think we need to change litter. Ours is very very dusty and it sounds like there are some out there that are not. Time to check them out!

    Thank you sooo much for this video!! My son is 8 and this is his 1st pet. We've been having a time with the little box situation. I'm a cancer patient and physically can not do the littler so it's his sole responsibility. So as I went to Amazon and the 1st thing to pop up cost 500+ dollars I began to search for a more cost efficient option. I came across this box but for the price point I had to do the review check 1st on youtube!! And boy I'm glad I did!! This is just what he needed. He will have the physical learning experience of caring for his pet and I get a well kept litter area in his room. Sounds like a win win to me!! Great Review

    We have four Omega Paws distributed throughout the house, and we LOVE them. It takes me seven seconds to clean each box. I can't argue with some of the negative points that Sarah mentioned, but overall, they're great. Knowing that I don't have to take the thing apart and sift every time, makes me more apt to clean the boxes more often. And the price is right!

    7:46 This is the opposite of reality. I bought this precisely because I struggle to scoop a regular one with how difficult it is for me to bend down for extended periods. And it's far far less physically demanding than the other quick scoop option - sifting trays. It takes way less effort to roll a heavy load of litter than to lift it.
    Also, it DOES significantly reduce the amount of time spent cleaning every day! Given that I need to have a pretty large amount of litter as my cat loves to make big mountains on her poop, it often takes some 10 minutes to dig out all the waste manually. With this it takes 30 seconds or so.

    In principal and on paper it sounds like a good idea. Based on the reviews though people are saying it is cheaply made, thin plastic, the clips are also cheap and don't always clip well and the handle drawer does not always align well in the opening. They also say that the Elite models with those metal finishes are faux painted plastic to resemble a metal finish. There is a new model which make the loading of the liter a lot easier but I hope they also addressed those major quality issues.

    Had it for a year, and it gets to troublesome after a while. When you have to clean the entire litter box, filter and compartments, it gets to be more work, then a regular litter box and scooping. It also heats up fast during summer and makes smells worse. Now I use litter liners plus litter shifter and it is soooooo much easier and cleaner.

      @@cewaffles It was easier to get a small cheap litter box with cover and flap so i could carry it outside when i got rid of the litter. I put liner bag down, then old add papers and another litter box liner ( my cat likes to play in the litter box sometimes and will scratch through a bag) then I bought these liners that have holes in them ( I have trypo phobia but I rather deal with the liner than the humongous litter box.) And put them over the liner and put the litter over it. Once every 3 days I just take out one bag, the regular litter seeps through and the clumps stay in the bag. Tie it up put in a trash bag and that's it. No moving a heavy box or scooping. I cant stand the smell of used litter so this is faster and less strain on my bad back.

      @mateuszkwietowicz2470 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I've had different litter boxes for years and I must say - I have had a great time with Omega Paw - the scooping itself takes for a few seconds, and you can do it at any moment - like just before going out to work - without having to sit down, manually dissasemble the top, scoop out clumps, shift the box around to uncover the hidden clumps .... a regular closed litter box always takes a few minutes. Omega Paw always takes about 5-10 seconds. With Omega, you easilly can do double cleaning in the morning and in the evening, and with a regular box - going there everyday is a chore. So it saves you time, and lets you clean it out more often. There are flaws. If your cats pee on the walls - pee tends to get in between the top and the bottom - so you will need to get in there while cleaning it with some spray and paper towels and on occasion, I had cat pee get outside of the back of the box and on the floor - because the top and the bottom are not entirely leak proof (very few cat litter boxes are, even regular ones - if your cats pee on the walls instead of the litter - it tends to get out). The cleaning of the box takes about as much as cleaning of a regular box, and the smaller parts are easier to clean since you can take them out and rinse them in the shower. The amount of time saved during cleaning everyday, easily makes up for the extra minute or two when you clean it. The internal rake does let some small bits of used litter to pass through, so every few weeks it's good to go in there with a regular scoop and get them out, or just change the entire litter once a month to keep things clean. Finally, the major problem is that it really does require more space. I never had the room to have two of them - because their sideways shape and the rolling requires a lot of space. But besides from these issues, the easy cleaning is well worth the price if you have the room to roll it around.

      @@mateuszkwietowicz2470 we bought it for my daughter since I had two fat cats. But she complained it was to heavy for her and got some litter powder on her, because she practically hugged it to turn it. When she couldn't do it, I cleaned the litter. Like I said, things were more complicated, getting litter dust wafting around your face everytime I turn the huge thing was bad, sweeping the excess litter sucked, cleaning both huge parts and the little rectangle scooper was not simple. Getting poop stuck behind the strainer area sucked worse. Oh my new kitty would pee on any litter my middle cat kicked out because it was to high for her. I swear, for half a year a hated my cats just because that giant litter roll made everything harder.
      I got a new litter box, and I love my cats again, lol.

    • @mateuszkwietowicz2470
      @mateuszkwietowicz2470 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@sillyme7920 I'm sure everyone has different experiences, but the dust build up and getting soiled litter stuck I would suggest is the fault of the quality of litter you are using. There are several litters that are almost dust free - if you are having dust build up, just from sifting it through the rage - I would suggest changing the brand of litter you are using. I've had brands of litter that would create clouds of smoke and dust just from pouring it in the litter box, and this would actually stain and dirty everywhere - but when I changed the litter, the problem went away quickly. The weight and size of the litterbox is something that can't be changes - if you have problem with rolling it, I'm sure going to a different one is the best option for you. For me, it was no problem since the start, even if I put too much litter inside and end up with 10KG's of litter - I still could sift it. I've rarely had cats pee directly on the rake - my cats would usually pee on the wall directly opposite of entrance and it would sometimes get in between the top and the bottom parts - which was a problem to clean and I had to once a week clean the toilet with paper towels, but cleaning the box itself was still a breeze and I miss my Omega Paw when I have to fumble around with toilets, opening them up and scooping around with a scoop - since I have 5 litter boxes to clean, Omega Paw would cut out like 2-3 minutes everytime...

    My cat has been using this for years. I just switched from clumping to a silica cat litter. It is fine. I just rolly polly it on over and take out the 2's. After 3 weeks I swap all the litter. I am one of the disable people... so for me this combines light weight effective litter with reduced full changes. I end up with a litter cost of about $12 per month. I worked it out on a weekly rate. I was paying twice as much for a clumping cat litter. Then... swapping the heavy litter and having to lift it into a dumpster hurt. The light weight is really working for me. I don't "wait until it won't absorb more." My smell tolerance is at a much lower level. I think if it bothers me... my Miss B has to hate it.

    I have this litter box. The regular size is just big enough for my cat to use. Wish I had bought the large one, as it would have provided him more room to turn around. If you happen to find a litter that doesn't stick to the bottom of your box then this litter box is amazing. I've started using Tidy cats free and clean. It can stick to the bottom, and when turned to dump the waste into the catch, can leave a bit of a mess on the inside roof if this this box. I still like the box has it does filter the loose litter.I was using arm and hammer slide, and it worked great but as its so light weight , the tracking was horrible.
    You don't turn this box all the over, just mostly over. still a good litter box , even if you don't use it completely as intended. I took the lid off and just use the bottom with the filter wall. Like I said , I still like it. If I find a better litter ( liking the tidy cat) maybe I'll put the lid back on, but with tidy cat, there's no smell and clumps really well.

    I got this, I like it, however oh when emptying out the litter box with the clumps, it literally smells like half of the litter out of the litter box when I was trying to empty the litter box with the clumps, trying to get the clumps in to the little drawer I guess it was my fault. I’ve been trying to prevent the litter from coming out of the litter box when I tilt it. I guess I must be tilting it wrong. I recently just got this litter box so I got it because I thought it would be easier on myself due to me being disabled, and living by myself I thought that my two cats would benefit from you know having a litter box that has a lid and my younger cat who is eight months likes to sometimes play in the litter box instead of going to the bathroom and he will still litter everywhere, so oh I got that for that reason. Also, it seems to be working for my cat spoke to my cat to use it. It’s just the fact that trying to get the Klumps into the drawer is a little bit hard for me.

    I have it. I don’t like how I have to put my hands all over it and parable it across my room often flipping some litter out if I don’t notice the latch comes undone and I can’t really trust my kids not to launch roll it too hard and have the top come off

    I got one of these for my cat and it was small she refused to get into it no matter how much I tried, they need to make them in different sizes because cats are not one size fits all. I gave mine away to my mother who has a much smaller cat than me

    Question for those who use this box. I have to use dust free. What brand of litter do you find works best? ❤️✌️

    • @thecomet9999
      @thecomet9999 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      After one month of use I like it. I have found that Arm & Hammer Slide works best for me. It doesn't stick to the roof as much. My pet peeves about this box, after rolling the box it seems to leave 1 clump in the far corner that doesn't get into the tray so I still have to have a scoop handy and go fishing. Also my cat will dislodge the tray so that it is sticking out. I don't know if this is a design flaw or just my cat's obsessive covering technique.

    I just wish they made it with a door a door really helps lock in the odor inside. So my question is how bad is the odor without a door. And wow those are huge poops for a cat Lol and poop clumps that large fit through swift holes?

    What I want to know is how do you take it apart and get all the tiny little clumps that went through the grid out of there! I'm watching my brother's cats. I do not like this box. I don't feel that hygiene wise it's the best. They're crawling inside. We're all the dirty cat. Litter is all around the inside

      clumping litter like clay

    • @mateuszkwietowicz2470
      @mateuszkwietowicz2470 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The best litter if fine clumping clay litter, but it also works well with corn-based or other clumping litter (World's Best is fine). Basically anything that is small enough to get through the rake. The stronger the clumps the better cleaning you get ,and less debris gets left in the box for you to dig out with a regular scoop every few weeks. Large sized pellets, non clumping silica or other litters are a no go - it will work, but you will only clean out the solid stuff and the pee is still in there so you will need to clean it out more regularly. It's a good product, if you have the room - try it out, it really does save time.

      Yes I do once a day. Sometimes twice a day. No matter water kind of litter I use, when a cat goes I can smell it. If I only cleaned it once a week even with one cat my house would smell horrible lol
