  • Omega Paw Roll N Clean Self Separating Self Cleaning Litter Box Review
    DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS!
    There is no cleaning to this, nor is there really any self-separating. It’s a rocker style litter box with an internal grated area allowing you to rock the litter box over on its side, then onto its top, resulting in waste tumbling into a removable waste receptacle. This all works good in theory, but this type of litter box is not yet ready for prime time. The usable litter box area is too small for the average cat, and the waste does not always make it into the receptacle.
    I tried one of these types of litter boxes years ago, and had poor results with it. I had hoped this type of technology improved over the last decade, but sadly it has not. This new one ended up in the trash, as did that first one years ago.

    I have 4 (6 during kitten season) of these for my cats, as long as you use them correctly they are fantastic (don't overfill, get the right size for your cat, and clean at least daily). My cats love them and have no issues using them, the kittens I foster have no issue using theirs when I foster during kitten season. I paid for every single one of mine, and I recommend them to everyone I know that owns a cat. I tried several other litterboxes before this, the litter maid (my cat broke it) Several sifting litterboxes (HUGE MESS MAKERS!!)

      Exactly! I was going to post the same thing. I've had these for 2 cats and never had issues unless I forgot to clean it daily. The right amount and type of litter + cleaning regularly makes these ideals.
      I think people just think it means you don't have to clean it regularly, but it's not that type of box...
      It just makes it easier to clean without digging.

    Again as usual after watching your REVIEW I'm getting other TH-camrs videos about this cat litter box. Ang guess what these other videos are all VERY positive about this item. But I do notice these people were given this litter box. Often it's said as a throw away comment. "oh I was skeptical before being GIVEN this litter box". So it's not a review, it's a sneaky ad. There's no price talk and no negative talk about the litter box. And this is TH-cam 2020. It's a joke.

      Well, that's YT for you. They make no secret about the fact that their main customer is the advertiser...not the viewer, not the creator who actually creates content that draws in both advertiser and viewer. But even more to the point, what does that say about that particular YT creator who creates "fake" reviews to promote a product? Even if they disclosed their relationship with the product or advertiser, that in no way can be considered a review in any sense of the definition. Clearly those Tubers cannot be trusted, on any topic. If you sell your soul, even one time, all trust is gone. If they lie about this, what else are they not being honest about? If it were anywhere else but YT, those purveyors of fake reviews would be fined (and possibly even charged criminally) by the FTC or the State Attorneys General. All that aside... just look at this product, look at how it actually works, and compare it to other styles of litter boxes on the market....well, the conclusion is obvious. I knew what this was going into it, and only needed it to last a couple of weeks. But what about the viewer who has never used one of these, and who buys one thinking it actually works as easily as they see in a "review" video? If they saw an advert online or on TV, they might be skeptical of it and do their due diligence, but since they saw a "review" from an "actual person" using one, they are lulled into believing what they see. And that unfairly skews that old adage of Let the Buyer Beware.

    Maybe owning a litter robot has made your opinion a little bit biased because my Pmege Paw is working great so far. And I got the large version I don't know if you got the the regular size or the large but yours looks smaller than the one I got but that might just be because I'm not seeing it in person. Last time we weighed our cat she was 10 to 12 lb and she has absolutely no problem with the size of the box. Their is plenty of room for her and she is not cramped. I personally never had a problem scooping but when my 60+ year old mother with two bad knees was telling me how much she loved this I decided to give it a try and so far I'm not planning on going back to scooping when I can rock'n roll. So I agree to disagree with you I do not think that this is garbage. Me and my girlfriend are enjoying ours. But maybe one day we'll get a litter robot and be like how the hell did we live before this lmao 🤣!

      As I mention in this video, this is the second one of these I've had, and the first one was before I ever owned a LR. And when I did buy my first LR, I hated it for several reasons, and ended up giving it away. And the two new ones I have are better, but they are far from perfect. As for a less expensive automatic litter box, I do like the SmartScoop which is considerably better than the LitterMaid Elite if you like the open style automatic litter box. My main problems with the Omega Paw, is the lack of usable space inside compared to the overall size of the unit. I found this unit hard to clean, since one of my cats has chronic diarrhea, resulting in smaller clumps able to pass thru the grating with the clean litter, as well as causing clumps to stick to the grating. I don't think the waste tray in this unit, works as well as the waste tray in that first Omega Paw unit I had...too much space for smaller pieces of waste to miss the tray. And lastly, the footprint required to operate the rolling feature, is much too large. It would be much more efficient if this unit used an internal tumbler, rather than rolling the entire unit. With all that said, I'm glad you are happy with yours. As for not having to bend and stoop to scoop the litter box, just before my knee surgery in February, I purchased a metal long-handled scooper on Amazon, and I was really happy with it. When/if I ever get fed up with my LR units (and I'm sure I will eventually), I will go back to open litter boxes, and use that long-handle scoop. Every couple of years I get fed up with the shortcomings of automatic litter boxes, and I go back to normal ones :)

      First off, I've no intention of calling you a liar. Every one of these I've had, every person I know who's tried one, and nearly all of the people I've talked to online about these...agree with my opinion here. But if you've had a different experience with these, congrats you are one of the lucky few. And really, I wish these did work, it would have saved me from having to spend $1000 on a pair of Litter Robot 3 units.

    Just got one of these as I’m disabled and my hubby hates scooping the litter. A long handled scooper wouldn’t work as I don’t have the energy or strength in my arms and can’t stand long enough to do it (I have to sit on the floor to scoop but then the issue is getting up 🙈), plus we want a tray downstairs but I can’t get downstairs and hubby doesn’t want to scoop, so this will be perfect for him. My 3 cats are 5kg ish and fit no problem and despite being used to XL hooded trays seems to be using this great! We use cats best litter so not as fine as the clay but also not as heavy, which works great with the grate (was concerned it wouldnt filter through as I hate clay litter) and doesn’t leak through the side joins. So far so good for us.... although given a lot of people have issues with the grate splitting I’m going to leave it a wee while before replacing the trays upstairs. Although our light weight clumping litter might not put as much pressure on the grate so keeping my fingers crossed we have no issues there. Would love a litter robot but hubby had to give up work two years ago to care for me and our boys, so our finances just don’t allow for it, so for us, this ‘could’ be the next best thing - time will tell.

      Sorry you ordered this, but I'm glad it has not yet arrived :) It's the biggest waste of money in the cat-box world (so far). I found using a normal litterbox, and the buying a long-handled poop-scooper is an inexpensive alternative to using something like this.

      @@BM22TechReview Oh after your review it ended up coming here on Sunday I didn’t even open the box all I did was tear off all of the labels that were on that box and stick the return label on it and my mom took it to UPS yesterday so I wasn’t gonna waste my time pulling that crap out of the box only to deal with having to put it back in so I just sent it back. But I don’t take this the wrong way but I don’t understand why anybody would pay five or $600 for cat litter box even if it’s self cleaning , I think it’s ridiculous that these companies charge that much for an automatic cat litter box anyway because the average person can’t afford a six or $700 cat litter box not saying that if somebody were to give me one I wouldn’t take it but I have one of these cats that if that litter box is even the slightest bit dirty he’ll shit on the floor and it drives me insane so I am constantly cleaning that box because I don’t want it smelling I don’t want my house to smell and he knows it. Lol but I would never even if I had the money I would never spend six or $700 on a cat litter box because I just don’t think that it’s right for companies to charge that much money for something that eventually you’re gonna have to get a new one because it’s gonna end up dying

    • @BM22TechReview
      @BM22TechReview  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I agree many of the new litter boxes and waaaaaay over-priced. In a litter box, I want low maintenance, no smell, and dependability and I'm willing to pay a lot if the box can deliver that. Imagine a litter box that stays clean, does not smell, works every time, and only has to be checked once every week or two...how much is that worth? BTW I had/have high-maintenance cats; one has IBS and a permanent case of diarrhea. I had an original Litter Robot when they were $399 (more than 10 years ago). Yes, that's a lot of money, but I had 4 cats back then, I work 12-hour shifts between 4 and 7 days a week and working those kinds of hours I just didn't have much time to keep the litter boxes clean. I gave up on the original Litter Robot, and tried several other automatic boxes priced between $100 and $150...they all let me down. So, I went back to using the old-style litter boxes, but bigger; I used those long 6-inch-tall, 4-foot-long storage totes. And when I went to Hawaii to film 3 or 4 times a year, I'd just set up 5 or 6 of them, but they would all be full after being gone a week. I went back to the newest version of the Litter Robot (LR3) back in early 2020 before my knee surgery because I was not sure if I'd be able to maintain the normal litter boxes while I was laid-up. They were a lot better in some ways (still lacking in other ways), and it was $1200 for two of them. After 20 years, starting with 4 cats, and now down to one cat still kicking (she's 20 now) I've learned that there is no such thing as a Set-And-Forget litter box...but there really should be. And that's why I keep looking...and keep being let down :)

      @@BM22TechReview Oh I get it, I wasn’t trying to offend you I myself only have one cat and you’re right I don’t do well with the smells at all because since I had my shoulder surgery I’m here all the time so that cat litter box is cleaned every time he goes in it because I can’t stand it I don’t want my house smelling like cat poop or cat piss all the time. And I’ve got air fresheners all over this house. I just refuse to pay that kind of money for a cat litter box when this cat seven years old who knows if he’ll make it to next year or 20 years from now. But I get it to each his own and I’m glad that it makes you happy I wish that I could afford one I really do because if I could I would but unfortunately I’m like millions of Americans out there that can’t waste my money on something like that.

    • @BM22TechReview
      @BM22TechReview  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I get it, it's a lot of money, and we all have to have our priorities. And you're right, you have to factor in the potential lifespan of the cat (cats), and then break it down to cost per year, per cat. I bought my last two Litter Robots when I had two cats left (both at 18). And then Peanut died 1.5 years later, and now Beans is too sick to use the LR; she has to be caged and penned when we're not home. But my LRs will not die with my cats, I've already had several people say they want them when I'm done with them. And honestly, if I could start over and do it all over again...I'd go with this current model (or their new model) LR from day one. But hey, that's just me :)

    Starting to think I just wont find a litter box solution for my 18lb boy (he's not overweight, just Big lol). Its already a little tricky to find just a normal, genuinely large litter box and none of the dimensions on anything self-cleaning seem like they're promising enough to risk him not using it so 🤷‍♂️ scooping it is ig
    But thank you so much for this review! I'm sorry it didnt work out for you but I'm glad it sounded like it was a temporary solution anyway! Seeing little Beans try to fit in there really smacked some sense into me lmao I appreciate it!

      Thanks; my big cat Peanut died about a month ago (18 yrs old), so all we have left is Beans (also 18 yrs old) who is very small. But in his prime Peanut was 23 to 25 pounds, before his thyroid took off a couple of years ago and he went down to the 12 to 16 pound range. We used to use those clear 6 inch deep Rubbermaid tubs as litter boxes (both the standard size and the long ones); they work great for cats of any size.

      Beans gets into everything. If there is a dresser drawer left open, she's in it, if there is a lower cabinet left open, she'll get in there and poke around. When Kiki was still alive, we had to add those baby-proof latches to lower cabinet doors, because she would open them to creep around in the cabinet. All it takes is one time of you reaching into a cabinet to get something and then feel something furry brush against your hand...or even worse, playfully take a bite out of your hand.

Does it look like the litter and waste easily filters to and from the waste area? Does it look like it would be easy to clean? I do like the SmartScoop since it is direct gear-driven giving it more power and the waste hopper moves with the rake causing less problems (I've owned 4 of them, but they are now hard to get), I no longer like the LitterMaid because the waste hopper would often get stuck open if a clump is too big and the rake often jammed because it is belt driven (I've owned 4 or 5 of the LitterMaids over the years). I currently have switched back to the new Litter Robot; the new model is much better than the original one I had (and hated) years ago. I currently have 2 Litter Robots for 2 cats, and I have to empty the waste hoppers every 5 to 7 days. The Litter Robots are not perfect, and I have videos showing what I don't like about them, and they are very expensive, but so far they are the best automatic litter box I tried...not perfect, but the best so far.

    I bought one and while my cats did use it, the litter area was very small, the litter leaked out of the cracks when I would roll it to "clean" the litter. I would NOT recommend this product either.

    • @BM22TechReview

      What I can't understand is, why they did not make the litter area larger so the cats actually have some room to use it.

    I would say that if your are critiquing a specific cat pan (omega paw roll n clean self separating/self cleaning litter box), you should use ONE cat, for your critique. Using multiple cats is confusing as cats have different personalities, just like all living, sentient beings.
    after note: especially, since many people only have ONE cat... so the one-cat owners may have a very different experience with this cat pan than you, who have several cats.

    • @BM22TechReview
      @BM22TechReview  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Only one of my cats fit into this litter box...does that not make it a litter box for only one cat? Additionally, this was not the only litter box I had in service; my Litter Robot was also available for both cats to use.

  • @hojo70

    They make a large box, sounds like you bought the regular size. Also, this product a 4 star review from over 2000 people on Amazon

    • @BM22TechReview
      @BM22TechReview  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      And can we actually trust 4-star, 5-star, or 1-star reviews? Of course not! Even if this was bigger, it still has the other problems. Too big of a footprint. Waste getting stuck in the grating. Waste traveling through the grating. So, there were 2000 4-star reviews...against how many 1-star reviews? And even if those good reviews were legit, though they were probably bots, all that proves is 2000 morons figured out how to type on their computer machine.

    Do you get a little money when people buy that crazy expensive one through your links? Every other review of this product is mostly positive. My cousin has that fancy one and it just smears poo all over the inside. It reeks.

    • @BM22TechReview
      @BM22TechReview  ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope; I get nothing from any retailer or manufacturer of any of the items/products shown on my YT page. And really, my channel is way too small for that sort of thing. Even back on my original channel, with over 245k subs, and a hundreds of thousands (and sometimes millions) of video views a day, I never got any such deal like that. And really, I wouldn't do a deal like that, because when you sign those deals with the devil, you cannot be honest with your reviews and your experiences. It's been my experience, that no matter how much I like an item, I always find something I don't like about it, or at least I feel is lacking. For some reason, when they pay you to be a commercial for them, rather than an honest reviewer...they don't like it when you throw shade on their product. BTW watch some of my Litter Robot videos, I show that exact problem you mention.

  • @rorschach775

    I've been digging through litter box reviews and legit, every single litter box has some lunatic making their litter box experience sound like they're being bombed in the trenches of WW1. Why can't people just do a normal review?

    • @BM22TechReview
      @BM22TechReview  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because a high number of people singing the high praises of any item here on YT, are either paid to do so, or they're trying to get noticed by the company in hopes of getting free products or $$$. Just like on Amazon, never believe the simple 5-star reviews (without verifiable examples of their claims). With that said, if you've looked around my channel, you've seen I've made videos on several different types of litter boxes. And if you watched this video, you've heard that this is not the first time I've owned this litter box. Additionally, my so-called Western Front WW1 trench warfare position, can easily be verified by watching the video (with or without the audio). My statements made in this video stand for themselves. BTW not that I'd want any, but there's little chance this video will get me any free products from this company :)

    • @BM22TechReview
      @BM22TechReview  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, I disagree. It does not separate well, the usable area is too small compared to the sift-storage area, and the waste tray does not even work as well as the older models of this POS. Your ignorant insults fall on deaf ears, because real people can see exactly what I'm saying here. You are either a moron, a troll, or another F-tard associated with the manufacturer and sale of this product, and are trying to lie to the consumer about your crappy product.
