I had never had a cat in my entire life but a homeless cat who made friends with my dog decided to become a part of our home. I knew nothing about cats and your videos have been greatly helpful in helping me to gain knowledge on how to care for him. So on behalf of myself and my cat thank you!
I love how you never had a cat but this homeless cat decided ya you'll do and your dog probably said nice things about you lol 😆 "according to the dog you're kind so I'm moving in, we'll figure it out" 😸💕
@Jimmy Smith, I've had cats when I was younger and now I am debating about getting one. I have multiple issues. One being where to put the litter box (and what kind?), Also, I now have some very expensive antique furniture where the wood/fabric is not very cat "friendly." A friend adopted a male siamese cat who I adored because he was a handful (in a good way), very verbal and not destructive. "Bo" was a clean freak as he would not use his litter box until his previous BM was removed. lol
I'm a vet nurse and one of my vets at my hospital just got this and is raving about it. I travel a lot and it's difficult for my sitter to come by everyday so I worry about my cats litterbox situation when the sitter isn't there. Because of the high remarks my coworker gave and this review Im thinking of getting one! My cats already use the breeze system (which I do really love) so the hooded boxes wouldn't be an adjustment
If someone had told me I would one day spend this much money on a litter box I would have told them they were crazy. I have had mine almost 2 weeks and I love it. Before I scooped every morning and cleaned cat litter around the box every morning. It has cut out both those tasks. Even though I cleaned it every morning my cat scratched incessantly looking for a place to go. I wondered if it was because the odor residue was still there even though I used Fresh Step Multiple Cat to help with that. Ever since I set up the robot my kitty walked right in used it and never went back. No odor whatsoever. No scooping every morning. No incessant scratching. My kitty and I give this a 10!!! We love it!!
My cat would pee behind the litter box when the litter box was just a little bit dirty. With the Litter Robot that has stopped. It is really one of the most amazing machines I ever owned.
My husband insisted we try it almost a year ago and I was skeptical. Short story: it’s absolutely fantastic, do not hesitate. We have had no issues with it. Yes it’s pricey but worth every.single.penny. I have 2 cats, they love it!
@@vanessazaffari I have 2 adult cats and empty the tray about every 2-3 days. I have one cat that drinks tons of water and she pees a lot. I could back off to twice a week. Also the robot has a light that flashes to let you know when the tray is full. It also keeps the litter spray under control if you have an OCD cat who covers and covers and then covers some more🤣 Emptying the tray and putting in a new bag takes me 5 minutes, tops including putting in a new bag. Good luck
@@vanessazaffari....you might already do this but I recommend having someone look in om your cat during your trip in case anything happens and they can check on whether the litter robot is operating properly
One of my cats is obsessed with LR4. Every time it goes into cleaning mode, he runs into the room and watches closely the whole process and explores what's happening. He love sit. Im loving it too so far.
I am not familiar with content but wanted to thank you for your very helpful review of the product. This helped answer a few questions I had and let me see it in action.
Now seriously considering this - have 3 cats: Harry, Missy, Frankie. Have only used open boxes, have 3. So I may try this to see how Harry (7), Missy and Frankie are sisters (4) 'feel' about this. Enjoyed the video and recommendation a great deal. Many thanks.
Yeah they decided to shut it down to focus on selling more litter robot 4s (not being sarcastic that’s basically what the outgoing vm says). Would be great except for non-stop glitches. Great when it works! When being the key word… I have contacted them 3x in the last 5 months and have yet to hear back once. Generally you would assume that you’d get solid customer support on an expensive product like this. But you know what assuming does…
@@raquelmeyer5393 I sometimes get lucky and get replies on Facebook Messenger, but sometimes you have to wait before hearing from them. They replaced my base once, from issues, new one came, has different issues, all the way up to the unit stopping in middle of clean cycle making it useless for cats until you unplug it and plug it back in. 2 cats, luckly if can go a whole day between chaning bags. I just put fresh one in, one cat used it ONCE it says it is 60% full (bottom of bin wasn't even completely covered on the "full" I just replaced. That was the issue the first one had, not appears to do the same on this once since their firmware update they told me to pushed to it. However, the "Sensor Fault", "Location Fault", and such are fixed. $700 "nice when it works" item.
@@raquelmeyer5393 Their customer support used to be great. I believe the company was bought, and now it's terrible. It takes them weeks to respond to messages at times, and I've never been able to get anyone on the phone.
Our 4 month old Burmese kitten took to the litter robot4 without hesitation, which we were very grateful for because it was expensive. We've been using it for 1 week now and we have yet to notice any oder from it. The app is awesome and keeps us abreast of it's functionality. So far we've had zero problems with it. A big thumbs up from us.
Honestly the best thing I have bought for my 5 cats, I got the litter robot 3 so it does wonders, I usually had to empty the tray twice a week so not bad at all, I deep clean it weekly or bi weekly and so far no problems at all. I put 7 min timer on it
We've had the LR4 for a couple month now. We have 6, yes 6, inside cats. They all use it! We have to empty it more than normal off course, but it's a freaking game changer. Our housekeeping always comments that she's amazed when she walks in. No smell at all. Yesterday, I ordered the litter hopper that maintains litter at an optimal level. Considering getting a second LR4, although a refurbished unit. Well worth the money!
We went from one cat to four cats when our orphaned litter of foster kittens from a shelter turned into foster fails. We now have lots of litter boxes to maintain, and I came across these boxes, but I needed some real reviews before I invested in at least two of them! Thank you for this very thorough video! I also followed along with your blog post. I appreciate your help very much!!!
The general rule is to have to have one litter box for each cat plus an additional litter box. Meaning that four cats should have access to five litter boxes. These units are cool, but just too big to have multiple units in most homes.
Thank you for making this video. I have done my research last year debating to get the robot 3. I made the decision and bought it. It was the best decision ever. I suffer from anxiety and depression and it’s hard to do normal tasks in life. It was a struggle to keep up with the litter manually to clean for a regular litter box. Plus not feeling well all the time and feeling sick was the worst. Litter robot 3 has helped me tremendously. It is the best. I won’t get the new one just yet but it is something to consider. Thank you for your videos. I enjoy watching them :)
Desiree, I'm happy to hear that the Litter-Robot helped you to give your cat(s) the level of care you want for them even when you're struggling. This really is a huge benefit of this product, and it's great that it's working for you. Thanks for the appreciation and support as well-means a lot.
I raise a couple ferals as a co-parent, my neighbor/co-parent got the litter-robot 2 weeks ago and the little ferals are using it along with the regular 6 year old cat. So now I bought the litter-robot for my cats and can't wait to see how they like it.
Even people without specific challenges love the idea of making their lives easier and being able to do less overall. Just want you to know you’re not alone in looking for litter solutions. This sounds like a great idea overall.
So it was worth it? I'm thinking of it due to chronic illness along with depression and anxiety. You nailed the "struggle to keep up, " situation. Would you recommend I just invest in the 4? Does it seem better?
I have been watching litter robot for yearsssss -- and I finally feel more comfortable with purchasing this one! I have 4 cats -- and eliminating a few of the litter boxes would be super awesome!
If you check the litter robot website, they don’t recommend using 1 litter box for multiple cats. We have 3 large cats and purchased 2 of the litter robots about 5 yrs ago. One of our cats is a diabetic. So he drinks a lot of water and pees just as much. There’s heavy usage for both litter bots. Usually, with our 3 cats, we have to empty the pan every day and wash it every 2 weeks. Plus fill it up with litter every couple of days. Additionally, the clumps get dumped into the same spot in the pan. While some of them roll off to the sides, the majority stay in one area. Thus, as the clumps pile upward, the sensor gets triggered as if the pan is full. So, we have to check the pan throughout the day and shake it to disperse the heap of clumps throughout the rest of the pan. I’ve been a big fan of the litter robot for a very long time, plus we’ve owned them for over a decade. With that said, between the tracking of litter, the dust, the near constant shaking of the pan, the refilling of litter and the total pain it is to clean them, due to their size, we are exhausted. I came across the Tidy Cat system and that has finally given us some peace. No dust, no tracking or messes outside, no shaking of pan, super lightweight and easy to clean. Plus those pellets last a month. All we do is scoop up the poop once or twice a day and replace the urine pad twice a day. I’ve washed it once, the thing comes apart in a min-everything is plastic, easy to hose and while down. Permanently decommissioned our litter robots. Now, it’s just one thing to deal with. Lastly, our cats paws are clean and so are their back fur.
I have the 3 connect and I would never go back to a traditional litter box. The price point is well worth the convenience and quality of life imo. I didn’t know the 4 was a thing but I will definitely be ordering one.
You’re doing yourself a HUGE favor with Litter-Robot. It’s a little intimating at first but truly in no time you’ll have it down like clockwork. When you have to take it apart DO NOT follow the written instructions in the book, they are confusing. Watch the TH-cam videos for maintenance and how to take it apart and always Google or TH-cam when you have an issue. 95% of my trouble shooting has been from TH-cam and has worked!
The LR3 was expensive enough to make me skeptical, but I went for it because my cat is exceptionally prissy and won't use litter that's not perfectly clean... And I have to say it's probably paid for itself twice over in a couple years just because it uses so much less litter than before. That's something people don't talk about, but it's very efficient at sifting. And my cat loves it. I can agree about their support too - their refurbishment service is a good deal and I like that they sell most of the parts even for old units. I had the same sensor issues and they were quite helpful once I actually got ahold of them. I do think their warranty is unacceptably short for the cost, and for the number of issues people have. At least they've bumped it to a year on the 4, but they should really include at least 3 for what is now an even more expensive product.
We are considering getting 2 of them. I think with 7 cats it's probably a requirement. Right now we use 3 litter boxes. (She'd probably keep a regular litter box in play anyway.) I presume you have both version 3 and 4? Seriously, what kind of service maintenance are you talking about? I wouldn't mind doing that side of the job and the monthly clean if it helped my wife who usually takes care of the litter boxes (among other things), me doing my part to help maintain the unit would be in my job description. 🙂 If you have a minute I would love to hear you thoughts on this maintenance. We realize new items will either fail immediately, or within a day, or week, or month, or year after that then run forever with some maintenance. I would love to get them if only to reduce her workload and so am keenly interested in exactly how much maintenance and costs are involved with that? Saving her time is the real gaol and benefit. At least that's what I hope for. I'm retired, with disabilities (not severe, but limiting) she still has 5 years to go; so any advice would be warmly appreciated!🤩🤗
I just checked their website and they offer a 3 year extended warranty for $100 extra when you buy the litter robot. For the money you’re paying for this machine, it should be free! The majority of the parts are plastic anyway (which is cheaper to manufacture) except for the sensors, motors and such so I don’t think it will affect their revenue. They can look at their stats and see from customers support how many who notified the company has specific issues with certain parts. If more people are having issues with the sensor or motor than anything else, then offer an extended warranty for that only which is $25 or $50. They should just cover the plastic parts under the regular warranty and make it into a 3 year warranty. I guarantee you, more people will buy these litter robot if they did do it this way! That’s how some of the car manufacturers have been able to sell newer cars. They offer 5 years 100k mile limited warranty on certain parts of the vehicle because they know it’s not going to break down or they know these parts are well made and exclude the more expensive complicated parts to 36k miles or equivalent of 3 years. I’m just making an analogy here as a college marketing student. It’s a marketing tactic. It makes them look good and it benefits the customer if something does happen with the parts through no fault of their own. It’s a win win for everyone.
This review definitely helped me make a final decision on an automatic litter box, and this channel has helped our house again and again on food decisions and what all to get ours for birthdays and Christmas. Always love to see videos! Have had 3 of these (and a traditional box) for over a year now with 5 cats of varying ages. Younger ones definitely prefer the automatic boxes, even our 11 pound boy. Little to no smell that even guests comment on. "Worst" thing about them is one of our cats now has a new favorite interactive 😬 "TV channel" while they're sifting...
I just finished watching this entire review, and I have come to the conclusion that I have too much time on my hands, as I don’t even own a cat. I don’t know how I got here 🤔
I have 3 LR3's in my facility for 18 months now and I've encountered the DFI issues on all 3 of them. Out of curiosity I dove in to the DFI issue causing a wide range of issues including; Over torque fault, Drawer full Indication. Pinch detect fault. And the drive motor sounding like its laboring heavily. This eventually leads to the dreaded flashing blue light, even on power cycle. When I replaced the DFI circuit boards I kept the old ones and so I took a close look at both and noticed something extremely interesting about them!. The Emitter board (the one that is installed on the left) has a 20 pin surface mount chip that interestingly enough is located close center of the clear plastic shield's opening. Both the Emitter and Detector boards have a clear coat on them that's suppose to render them moisture resistant. But it seems that the bank of pins on one side of the chip that's exposed develops bad solder joints coupled with moisture intrusion and 1 on up to 5 pins will develop this issue causing them to blacken and look corroded. I decided after the 3rd DFI malfunctioned to look at the 2 that had replacements and sure enough they are starting developing the same issue but hasn't failed YET! I then took a peek at the newly failed LR3's DFI and sure enough the same issue!!! This IS the reason so many LR3's have malfunctioned! Here is the Good part!!!! The bad solder joints and corrosion issue is completely repairable WITHOUT replacement of the DFI!!! Those that are out of warranty and don't want to spend the $80 for the replacement, JUST re-solder all 10 pins on that side of the chip!!!. Afterwards Clean the repaired area up of all flux, then use a clear coat nail polish and reseal the chip pins the make it moisture resistant. If you don't have electronic soldering skills find someone in your area that does and work a deal out to fix it. Its literally a 5 to 10 minute job!!! I re-soldered all the malfunctioning DFI's I have and tried them out and glory be they work PERFECTLY once again!!! I pre-emptily reflow that bank of pins on the good DFI's showing the beginning of this issue and they are good to go for a long time!!! This is the weak point with the LR3 and the fix is so simple! The unfortunate thing is most the DFI circuits that are manufactured will eventually succumb to this issue because the soldering and moisture protection is insufficient to begin with.
@@johnhildreth6224 I thought about how to do it but the controller board requires a parallel input and an output from the DFI boards, otherwise the DFI and controller board are constantly communicating to each other. If you cant get your current malfunctioning DFI re-soldered and you do purchase a replacement, I HIGHLY recommend getting some clear nail polish and to apply a few generous coats over the chip pins on the Emitter's I/O chip ( the black square with silver pins sticking out 2 sides located at the center of the Emitter board) on the replacement (new) DFI to make certain it remains moisture resistant as the existing clearcoat on the boards are often lacking when it comes to that particular area. I also recommend saving the malfunctioning DFI so you can have it re-soldered by someone at your leisure, this way you have a backup in case your replacement has some other type of failure.
Been seeing ads for this thing on my Facebook left and right, so it's great to actually see it in action. Think I might have to get one of these for my cat since I'm really bad about keeping his box clean.
I'm a long-time Litter Robot user, starting with the 3 and then the 3-connect - this review was insanely helpful in understanding the main differences the 4 offers! With six cats in the house (and 5 Litter Robots) plus a rotating crew of fosters, I'm not in a position to upgrade everything to the LR4 but this review definitely makes a case to start down that path! Thank you!
My mom has multiple of the original litter robot & they're both still working with no problem. I've got the 3. Saw the news about the 4 & got excited. My 3 is still solid & I don't plan on upgrading right now, but it'ss good to keep in mind
Holy smokin joes that’s a lot of litter robots, must be worth it! I have a lot of litter boxes to be sure they have plenty of room to go but I think I’m to venture into the land of auto litter boxes… A+ dedication to your cats, I love it! 😻
I have been a bit wary of buying one but I think this video convinced me to buy one now. I have 3 cats and it can get a bit overwhelming to clean each litter box I have for them. I think cleaning this will make things easier and also eliminate the tracking issue I am currently having. Thank you!
I have 2 cats and was scooping 2 boxes three times a day and sweeping up the litter spray. Our old backs were killing us from all the bending over. This will change your life👍
I have a litter robot 4 and I was nervous if my cats were going to take to it. Luckily both of them immediately took to it and use it easily, one of them loves to sit and watch it spin.
Love your channel; have been a subscriber for years now. This iteration of this litter box is finally starting to seem like it’s worth the price. Thank you for taking the time and effort to review each upgrade as they come out; the videos are so informative, and Wessy is such a good cohost, even if he didn’t like the litter box!
I use a combination of sWheat Scoop (wheat) cat litter and Sustainably Yours (cassava) litter. I find mixing the two had the best scent/odor control/easy scoopable litter combo. I would love it if you would try the litter robot with various litters (including these two or the combination). Thanks for your videos!!!
You use them in a rotating automatic litterbox? I got a Leo's Loo Too, and the instructions insist on a clay litter but I don't love the tracking and non sustainability.
Did anyone ever about clumping litters cause intestinal blockages? I want to buy the litter robot but I'm worried about switching over to a clumping litter.
@@CinCee- The reason for a clay based litter is the more compact/harder it clumps the less it falls apart before it has a chance to fall through the chute and less litter contamination, if it breaks up too much then it will mix back in with the good litter and you will have to replace it more often. Our timer is set at 15 min and that seems to work best for the urine. Our cats will still use it if it hasn't cycled from the last cat to use it. That's one of the benefits of the LR as it reduces the times you have to replace the litter. We've had our LR3 for over three years now and no issues with our cats. It takes around a month to use up the bucket brand we use for two cats and it takes around 5 days (?) to fill the tray, but we can go a few more days when it says it's full if we shake flat the pile then hit rest, as the older LR3's dump towards the side. Some brands do have quite a lot of dust so those MAY be an issue? Their Whiskers brand say's it's dust free but even it does have a tiny bit. I just use a store bought "Tidy Cat" brand I think it's called and it seems to work the same as theirs, clumping and dust wise. They all have dust, it's just a matter of finding the right one. I don't think we have ever had to wipe off any excess dust in or around the LR.
Can you make a 6 months or a year use review? Does it improved since you first use it and any other thing you notice wish they fix it. Thank you for the video
Thank you!!! My one beef with the LR4 is there’s no direction booklet that explains how all of this works. Also how to add litter or do stuff with it. I don’t want to need to TH-cam or google every time I need to do something with the box. I’m old school and want to read about the process of taking it apart before I actually take it apart to clean. The plug and play QR code is great but I would prefer having a more in depth manual on how to do the monthly maintenance of the machine and how to take it apart properly.
Your various reviews have been really useful. I am going to try the Litter Robot 4 as it has a 90 day trial period to test my cat being comfortable with a closed box. Thank you.
I have a robot 3 for my 2 cats...they grew up with it. Just ordered the 4...am thinking they'll take to this box. I did use the warranty on my 3 and yes, their customer service is really good
Thank you for this detailed review, I owned a 3 at one point and have been considering a 4, this did an excellent job of detailing the changes and was really helpful. One thing I will note is that while you said there's no weight limit, the Amazon listing (by Whisker) for the 4 currently says: "SAFETY & USE: Suitable for up to 4 cats, each cat must weigh at least 3 lbs (1.4 kg) to safely use the Litter-Robot in Automatic Mode."
Chucky good morning it's not silly as cat's and dogs are like my son's and daughter 💯🙏🐕🐾🐈😺❤️ THIS PRODUCT AFRAID TO HEAR THE PRICE 😂😂😂😂GOD BLESS STAY SAFE SINCERELY YOUR'S SUSAN FROM PA 🙏
I recently purchased an additional litter robot 3 not knowing they were releasing the 4. I emailed them asking if I could return and get the 4 instead, they said yes I could do that or take a coupon for 150 dollars off the robot 4 so I took the coupon! Can't wait to get my Litter Robot 4!
Greg, awesome! I have a friend that is going to buy my second LR3 that I just bought in April, so getting that money back plus the $150. Can't wait to get the LR4.
For those asking Litter Robot gives you a 90 day trial period if you do not like it you can return it before 90 days. They said since I was still within this time I was good :)
very good, finally something new has appeared on the market! I and my 5 cats are tired of changing dfi sensors that fail every three months. I hope the engineers have corrected this situation in this model
@@jhonyk39 open it up, take a look at the circuit board. Notice that there's a little bit of corrosion on some of the pins of the microcontroller and some other components. Get a little bit of solder and reflow these obviously bad pins
Mine just arrived!🎉 I’m actually picking up my two little kitty boys, from their Foster Mama, on Saturday! The litter robot 4 is all setup & ready to go. (They’ve been really good boys, using the “big cats” box, so I may get a cheap regular box, in case) Thanks for the in-depth review.
I just ordered it. Because we travel a lot both in and out of state and finding a pet sitter to clean this everyday for multiple cats. So this plus an automated dry food feeder is a game changer.
We have watched your videos regarding the litter robot 4 and after some further research we have decided to purchase one of these. Whisker says it will work with up to four cats, which is how many we have. I will be happy to provide feedback once we have been using it for awhile. Thank you for your in-depth review!! 😺
Thank you for such an amazing review!!!! This model seems like a wonderful fit for any cat parent out there!! I’m highly recommending it and sending them your video to them!!! Thank you so much!!!!!!
3 cat review for the most expensive model with all the bells and whistles-2 out of 3 loved it. 3rd was too large for it, but still used it. Mind you…he’s larger than any other cat I’ve ever seen in person. Definitely a great invention and better than the littermaid was. The only drawback is the odor control for urine isn’t the best, but the right litter makes all the difference!
Do you by chance have a weight approximation for your fur baby? I was worried about it not being big enough for my Chonky kitty who's probably now about 27 pounds.
I have been plagued with bonnet removed faults. I am looking forward to getting this one as our Primary Box, and moving out LR3 to another part of the home for less use. Excellent review!
I had this problem too! Bonnet removed faults & pinch detect faults 🙃 I had to replace the bonnet but so far so good now. Hopefully this one avoids all those problems
Buy a Pink eraser bar. Use it to clean the contacts from the bonnet to the base, the 2 prongs on the left. Will start out with black as tar residue then slowly lighten over time. The first time i scrubbed mine it was over 30 mins per prong. Now i just take 10 mins per prong at deep clean time. Havent had that issue since i started doing this little trick. Hope it helps
I watched your video on the robo litter box3. Very impressed. We had lost our cat 6 months before and we thinking about adopting a new kitten, but since I was the sole litter box person, I was looking for something easier on my back. Seeing your video swayed our decision on a new kitten and I for one will never go back. Yes it is expensive not disputing that, but it really is so nice. Our kitten has never known anything else, with us, at her foster home it was different. But she took to it right away if you are on the fence. I for one would just push you to do it.
Great review, thanks! I have the LR 3 and love it for the most part. It has worked great, but I have one problem with it that I can't seem to stop. For some reason my cats think it is a carnival game. They use it no problem, but then when it spins to dump the waste, they wait at the opening and try to bat the clumps out of the air as they fall into the tray. Sometimes this launches them out into the room. Not really the litter robots fault, but I can't seem to get them to stop doing it.
Omg 😂 I laughed out loud. I can see my cats doing that. Gosh, I really want to try it, but the price tag is stopping me esp if in the end it may not work.
Omgosh, one of my cats does the exact same thing! When he jumps back in to swat at the poop it stops the cycle every time. I'm constantly turning it off and on again to make the cycle finish. So annoying!
I've been using litter Robot since the first one was introduced at CES, and I have had about 16 total LR3's since 2016, I have 9 cats, of those 16 about half had gone bad after 2-3 years due sensor issues, I have 4 LR4's on the way and really hope they have finally fixed these sensor issues!
Fingers crossed; they have left the pinch sensor, which may present some issues (I haven't noticed them), so it's possible that you'll still run into something. Would love to hear about your long-term experience.
@@AllAboutCatsYT 7/8 of the LR3's that have gone bad after about 2-3 years, the culprit always being corrosion build up on the metal contact sensor. The plastic pinch sensor bar will separate these metal plates in the event it has pressure put on it, severing the electrical contact and preventing the globe from rotating. The problem is that these metal plates are exposed and directly above the waste drawer, so over time the urine and fecal matter will cause corrosion. Whiskers solution is to clean the metal plates with alcohol and q-tips once a month, which if you know where these plates are, and that you need to do it, you'll know they are in a phenomenally tedious place to clean. Even if you do clean them thoroughly, cleaning underneath where the plates make contact is even more difficult, and can also deform the plates making them lose all contact. If these plates do not make contact, the unit will stop functioning all together, turning it into a normal litter box. The sad part is, is that this design flaw could easily be fixed by either changing the type of sensor, or housing the metal contact plates in something to protect them from exposure. Other than that, I had one unit whose motor gave out after 6 years of heavy use, so I really don't have any complaints about that one. Otherwise I find them great, I have cats ranging in size from about 7 lbs to 28 lbs, 4 DSH, 2 Bengals, 1 F2 Savannah, and 1 F1 Savannah, all of them have no problems using the LR 3's any of the prior models had been to small for my larger cats. My sole problem is that it has utterly spoiled some of the cats to the point that if the litter isn't perfect they'll just go in front of them. But other than that, I can't see myself ever going back to a normal litter box.
HI VALERIE.🤗 Thank you soooo much for all that you do to help us "cat/baby lovers".❤❤🐈🐱. I just started watching your channel recently and am very grateful for your input. May God bless you ALWAYS and continue to use you in His PRECIOUS ways to give us "furry-baby" mamas and papas answers. I'm thinking about this 4th generation one, but not 100% sure yet. Haven't even chosen the kitties from shelter yet!! I cried the other day when I went because there are soooooo many babies that need homes and love!!!😭😭😫😫 I wasn't able to choose and we just left. Might try again very soon. Wish us luck please... May God show us the right ones for our lives (we live in an apartment). I would choose 2 so that they keep each other company.🐱🐱🐱🐱🙏🙏🙏🙏😇😇😇😇❤❤❤
I just received a new litter robot 3 a few days ago. This is my third. Every two years drawer full sensor malfunctioned then no longer works automatically. Glad they addressed sensor issues. This time I purchased$100 3 yr warentry and am keeping box. Hopefully when malfunctions again they will replace with Litter Robot 4. Wish I could have held out untill summer. Too expensive to replace so soon just for new model.
@@lizliz2012 Congrats 👏 Your gonna love it. I've only had my first LR3 connect just a year now. As with any litter box over time, it's gonna retain some smell even after giving it a super cleaning. Strong enough to smell inside? I never noticed. My last recent cleaning I took everything apart. The globe 🌎, the rubber lining, etc.. I left it out in the sun to dry for 2hrs. Even after that I could still smell some odor coming from the box. I mean I had to place my nose almost inside to smell it and it wasn't so strong. I hope that helps.
thanks for the details. It was crazy to consider such an expense without knowing more about it. I really do not clean the litter boxes as often as I should.
I've got the LR3 and our first one actually was defective and LR support was fantastic. They replaced it after basic troubleshooting, no questions asked. We also invested in the three year extended warranty on it. Our cat has always loved it, chooses it exclusively over his normal box litterbox (may be due to placement as well). But I'm not sure about the LR4 simply because he's 13lbs and while the LR3 isn't a tight fit for him, just not sure if the smaller inside of the LR4 would be too much of a squeeze for him. The new features are really great...especially the litter level sensors! I with the LR3 had this. But for now I think we'll stick with the LR3. We've had it for about a year and a half now and again, once our first defective unit was replaced? We've had 0 issues with this one! Thanks for the great review on the LR4!
Just purchased. It's huge but nicely designed and so quiet Coming from using the Littermaid which is so loud. Both of my cats were curious one very cautious the other took to it right away. I'm pretty excited about the literrobot4 so far. Thanks for your video.
Thank for the reviews. I just for the Pura Max on this April ,not knowing that LR 4 is coming 🥲, tho for budget and money , I still like my Pura Max, got discount on Amazon🥰. It would be nice if you gonna review the Pura max and tell what’s your opinions about it! Will you gonna review it soon?
I’ve been watching your videos for a while and just rewatched this one as our LB4 is due to be delivered any day now and we have three weeks to train the two cats before vacation starts and the house and cat sitter arrives. Thank you for your informative channel.
I had the LR 1 way back in the mid-to-late 2000s. It had issues, but I liked it. I think it cost around $250, maybe a bit more, I can't recall. But $650 for this thing is a bit outrageous.
I don’t disagree about the price lol but at the same time, it’s 2022 where we buy $1200 phones every other year. (Some every year) The LR is def worth it and like she mentioned it’s all made in US and it is an electronic device that lasts years and years. I bet the LR inventors are aware of its value thus they keep raising the price. I bought two LR3 so far, both refurbished plus got some extra discount, so came out to $300 smthn total. I can’t complain 😁
@@planetscottishfold Ya but we use phones all the time and we use it ourselves not our pets haha , idk i think its still too much. Awesome deal you got tho!
@@planetscottishfold Agreed. I paid the same amount for the LR 3 three years ago and the investment is just as valuable as investing in a new phone, car, refrigerator, etc. I love not having to scoop anymore. Never thought I’d realize that until I didn’t have to anymore.
Whoa! $650?!! I know it's quite an exceptional product, but that's way more than even my cat cost!🤭 I'm a bit OCD about keeping the litter tray clean so I'm sure I'd find something new to be obsessed with even with this product 😸
@@Anthony-fo8no and the litter box is not used all the time? 😄 lol your cat uses it all day every day and you don’t have to scoop for the rest of your life. Good Electronics always cost a lot, especially when made in US bc labor is not 1 cent per day. For one cat though maybe it’s not worth it to some people, I’ve got 6 cats by now (🫣) and physically don’t have the time to scoop and wash the litter box every time
There are cat feeders that use the existing chip that we put in the cats in case they get lost, I wonder if LR could use that instead of a 3rd party I’d tag because my cats don’t wear collars Also, looking forward to the hopper they’re making to automatically top off the litter as needed Lastly, for anyone concerned about the price; it was the best money I ever spent since I literally haven’t touched dirty litter once since buying this and in the 3 years I’ve had it i would say it’s paid for itself with how much less litter we waste due to how efficiently it scoops dirty clumps and sifts the rest for reuse
Would love that feature. I have 2 cats that don't cover their pee. One of them holds her pee all day so when she does pee, it's a lot! She walks in and pees right at the edge of the liner and then jumps out. So even at 15 minutes. It won't clump and when it turns it lands on the inside roof and makes a huge mess. It's a PAIN to clean that. I would love a hopper that spread a thin layer of litter after the cat exits. I have an uncovered litter box for her, but she won't use it . There's just no good solution out there for cats that don't cover their pee and poo.
I have the Litter Robot 3 and it think it was the best investment I have ever made. I had 3 cats at one point and a dog and it has really worked. I am saving for the 4 now so I can get it.
Hello, me again. I just got my LR-4 and we love it. We've already heard of some issues with it people are having. So far (a week only) we have not, with 6 cats ranging from 10lbs to almost 20lbs, this puts anything to the test in one week. We still have our 2 LR-3's and one large covered regular box so the use of the new one is not heavy. It's average as they all tend to use all of them regularly. The non robot box is used the least though. I'll update if we run into any big issues with the LR-4, but so far I'm so glad we saved for it as one of our LR-3's is due for a major over haul. We still get the odd hood censor notice with one of them but it always continues on with the cycle and hasn't so far caused a real fuss. I clean the censors regularly and it always helps right after but the one LR-3 still just ends up having that notice resume every time it cycles. We did make sure it wasn't off every time and none of the cats were "stuck" in the thing or anything so it's safe and still operable, just annoys me that I get that warning notice everytime it cycles via the app. I do think there's much improvement in the 4, mostly in the waste drawer. It just piled up in the 4 inch area while the rest of the pan was unused in the 3. Now the opening is bigger and the pan deeper so where the dumping happens it doesn't pile up and cause major headaches for cleaning when the drawer gets pulled out. I'm not loving the redesign of the step up, I was hoping they would make a tray with the hole/type mat motif like another automatic litter box has. But i think I'll make one for ours as the biggest complaint is still the tracking of litter from the cats coming out of the things. Ugh, that someone would come out with that perfect litter that clumps perfect and doesn't track. Sigh... it's a tough order. Hint for all automatic spinning type litter box owners... always set your box to wait at least 15 minutes as the interval between cats visit and cycle... it will greatly change how disgusting the inside of the box where the cats go gets, if the clumps are well formed and covered the shmear is greatly reduced. I feed schedule my cats instead of free feed so it helps because they usually eat and within 15 minutes all 6 are ready to visit the cat commode. So two cats can get in and do their thang before a cycle. Wear and tear on anything motorized is always going to happen, so the less times it cycles the better for the machine in general. Upkeep and maintenence is key for longevity just like washing machines and dishwashers etc. Maintain and enjoy your money's worth, neglect and regret.
Pumped for this, watched the other videos and came back here today just be like "okay once and for all which is the best one?" I'm ready for one now. Will order this today!
Wow it seems like they have greatly increased the litter robot! The litter level is nice! Removing the weight sensor is nice! And I love that the waste bin is deep vs wide as I felt it was a waste of space. Sadly though I will have to wait a few years before upgrading as I have only had my litter robot 3 for a couple years and can't fathom spending that much so soon. Thank you for the great review
I’m 61…. I’ve never had a cat before but since July I’m now the owner of feral kittens ! We got them at different intervals all part of the same litter. There are 3 (we had 6). I am crazy. I cannot stand litter boxes. I came here to find automatic options. Thank you for the information 🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛
I find it very therapeutic to scoop the litter every morning. I hated it at first but I love doing it now.. slows me down and gets my brain stimulated. It doesn't take long at all.. just have to take out the small bag of trash after I do it.. if I had a compost heap.. guess where the litter would go? I wish I could get my cat used to using the wood pellets rather than the clay litter.. he doesn't like the wood pellets at all unfortunately :( He wasn't raised on it and I rescued him when he was a year and 4 months old. Any tips?
Its gotta be neat seeing companies actually listening to your critiques and actually doing something lol the fishworld only fluval is making improvements sort of
I love my LR3 so much, curious about this LR4. Not sure how I feel about the design or large opening. I feel like the inside is just staring at me haha This was a great review, in-dept and reviewed things most all cat owners and people who own a LR3 are interested in. Thank you!
thanks for letting us know one of your cats doesn’t use it - very helpful to know. For cats who don’t like covered litter boxes - funny they don’t make a see through lid
My smallest cat Kichi is very interested, she sat on my lap and was mesmerized. I don't think Oogie would fit as he is almost 9kg. Thank you for your fascinating and informative video.
Once you said the wait time includes 30 minutes I got so excited haha! I use a clumping litter but have 4 cats, so 15 minutes would work for 1 cat, but once 1 has to go they all go and 15 minutes even with the best litter its just not long enough!
I've been looking into getting a couple of these, and your post caught my attention. I thought I saw on their site that the time between cycles is variable and can be modified by a timer. Have you found that out since you first posted. I know that to clump firmly it needs some time; but, not sure that it always needs the full 30 minutes, and now I'm wondering... we have 7 cats, and you're right. It's one reason we have three litter boxes! 😅 I was thinking two of the Robots would work, and I thought I read we could adjust the time to clump before it cycled. Can you confirm if that is true; or are we stuck with waiting 30 minutes. We have one advantage though... we have a large fenced yard (which of course they can get out of... lol) but, it's a safe haven for them if any dogs show up... Still the benefit is that we let them go out when the weather permits and they do seem to prefer doing their business out there. But, any info you have discovered about if the timer can be changed, and if so, what's the best shortest clumping time needed would be much appreciated. You might need a 2nd unit, or a shorter cycle if possible. 😉
We've had the Litter Robot 3 for 5 years. Overall it's been a good product. Still generally works. The only issue I have is the stupid "Bonnet Removed" error. We get this all the time. I've made the adjustments recommended by Whisker, however after about a month the issue returns. I hope this issue is solved with the LR4. Just purchased it based on your review! Thanks for all the info!
Get a pink eraser, the ones you have to get for kids during back to school season. Rub and Rub and rub the bonnet sensors contacts, the 2 prongs. At first it will be BLACK as tar, as you keep on going it will eventually get a little lighter. If you have the patience to continue until the eraser residue is light gray you wont have to do it again for more then a year. I rarely have that kind of patience and clean the prongs when i do the deep clean, just until it is a dark grey or 10-15mins of rubbing per prong. Works decently for me. Hope it helps
Just a follow up on my comment here. The Litter-Robot 4 arrived a few months ago and has been nothing but trouble. It constantly freezes mid-cycle with a "Cat Sensor Fault" error. This is a widely reporting issue. Their customer service is overwhelmed with wait times in excess of an hour. This issue started happening after about 3 weeks of use. Clearly Whisker's QA process is nonexistent. The unit is so unreliable, people are setting up regular litterboxes when they leave overnight. Not good news for an $800 litterbox.
Thanks for the review. I see Wessie approves of the app 7:20. I am excited for this. This is worth it to me because I do have breathing problems and it's an unpleasant experience for me to scoop litter.
Wow, this is a very timely video for me. My LR3 is biting the dust due to sensor malfunctions after having it for about 5 years, and to replace some of the components would be fairly expensive. I was thinking of just replacing it soon with another LR3 - but having seen this, I may spend the extra $$ and get the LR4 instead. Thank you so much!😺
Thank you sooo much Miss Mallory!! i have the LR3 and i am so excited to get the 4!! I really like the bigger opening, the fact you can still use the step from the LR3, DEFINITELY the weight feature, and I really love the new app layout11 Also the fact that ANY size kitty baby can use it is awesome!! They have appeared to also get rid of the liner, which i REALLY approve of; it makes it so much easier to clean, along with the opening for carrying the globe! I may pass this one along if an upgrade option is not offered to someone who I know will really benefit from it, and I may pass it along even if they do offer an upgrade. Looking to see how well the new filters work as well! Lol, can you tell I'm ready? Well done LR for listening to your customers and influencers!
You can really use the steps from the 3 on the 4? This has been my hesitation in upgrading because of my 13 year old arthritic cat. I’m so excited now!
Thank you for your review! I enjoyed with your video because you gave a lot of information and comparisons that I needed to hear! Ordering my Robot Litter 4 now and super excited to use it for my troubles lol.
How does this compare to the Petkit Pura X? Would this be an upgrade? I feel the Pura X has all the sensor and app features already, such as litter remaining and ability to set up multiple cats and track usage. Plus, the Pura X has a deoderizing spray that does a good job of keeping the drawer from smelling. One of my biggest complaints of the LR3 is the fact that smell escapes, and it would be almost impossible to sleep in the same room with. Does the LR4 have the sleep mode and ability to set up periodic cleanings? For my Pura X, I set it so it does not turn from 11pm-6am, and that it cleans itself at 7am and sprays the deodorizer twice a day. Also, will you do a review of the Pura Max? Thanks!
Thank you for the great review. I haven't had a cat in 10 yrs or more. I miss them. I have 2 dogs now and I am debating a cat. I want one of these if I go thru with the decision.
We've owned Litter Robots for over a decade now. Currently, we own 2 of the litter robot 3 and the big issues for us, which I don't think this design has resolved, are the following: One; no matter which clumping litter you use, you're going to get a lot of tracking. Lots of cats tend to dig to cover up their waste, or they jump out of the box which gets more litter outside. Two; the spinning or sifting phase means that the dirty litter is being moved into the ceiling area of the litter robot, dirtying the top of the litter box, which for larger cats ends up getting their back fur dirty. Three, the litter gets dumped into the same spot in the pan. While some of the clumps roll down to the sides, the bulk of the clumps remain in one area. This ends up triggering the litter sensor to notify the pan is full. The only way to solve this is by checking on the pan throughout the day and shaking it to disperse the clumps throughout the entire pan. In other words, more work. We've owned these version 3 for over 5 yrs. In all that time, we've had to replace that sensor endless amounts of time and on another occasion even the entire base of it. Suffice to say, after all these years, we moved on to the X-Large Tidy cat litter box system, which I have to say has been so much better. No tracking, no dust and truly a breeze to clean. Plus no more hauling around heavy litter or these huge contraptions to clean. Happy to finally be hassle free!
@@SoManyRandomRamblings YW. I can tell you that we were really surprised with the Tidy Cat system. With 3 large cats; we’re just ecstatic about the fact that we don’t have to deal with litter tracking mess or the dust. Plus our largest is a 20lb diabetic. So he drinks a lot of water and pees a lot. We change the pads about twice a day and so far they’ve handled the large amounts of urine very well. Also, we have antique wood floors, which sometimes get dirty with clay tread marks. Lastly, our cats paws are a lot cleaner too. Suffice to say, we’ve completely decommissioned the litter robots.
Hell no. Dust pellet scatter everywhere. Dust. Everywhere. Breeze to clean? Tidy cat sucks. My cat literally kicks everything out across the room on purpose. And takes out pellets on purpose. Litter robot is the least amount of work i have ever had to do and mine works fine. You got a faulty one it sounds like. On a side note the clumps in litter robot are pretty evenly distributed. One of my cats does it himself. He hears that thing rolling. He immediately waits for the chute then sticks his paws in to push the older ones out of the way. I have a wonderful cat who does the work for me
@@LilyUnicorn Hmm, the tidy cat system uses hard pellets. So where exactly are you getting dust from? Moreover, the litter robot stops cycling when it detects extra weight (cat inside of it). Therefore, I’m not sure how your cat manages to stay inside the litter robot while it’s cycling, in order to wait until the 4”x4” square is accessible, so that he can stick his “paw” all the way into the 4” deep pan and then spread the litter evenly around the area of a 12”x14-16” pan; all within the time span of a few seconds before the trap closes. In summary, either you’ve never really owned a litter robot or perhaps you should consider putting your cat in show business. LOL. Lastly, the tidy cat litter box consist of 2-3 super light plastic items, depending which one you have. We have the extra large one, so 3 items, which are made of hard plastic. One, the tall plastic rim that sits on top of the litter tray. Two, the hard plastic litter tray. 3 the hard plastic flat pad tray. The rim sits on top of the litter tray and the pad tray slides into the litter tray. No weight and no difficulties whatsoever in taking apart or washing. It literally took me 2 min to wash with a hose and another 2 min to dry and this is their largest litter system. Being that we have 3 large cats and that I’ve spent over a decade cleaning litter robots, I can accurately state that they’re heavy and not very easy to clean at all. Plus assuming that your fantastical cat also cleans and shakes all the litter out of his paws before he steps out of the litter box, right? LOL To reiterate, between the fantastical tale of your litter self cleaning cat, along with complaints of dust allegedly produced by hard and water repellent pellets, it doesn’t sound like you’re very familiar with either of these products.
I had never had a cat in my entire life but a homeless cat who made friends with my dog decided to become a part of our home. I knew nothing about cats and your videos have been greatly helpful in helping me to gain knowledge on how to care for him. So on behalf of myself and my cat thank you!
I love how you never had a cat but this homeless cat decided ya you'll do and your dog probably said nice things about you lol 😆 "according to the dog you're kind so I'm moving in, we'll figure it out" 😸💕
Thank you for opening your heart and home for that kitty!
Aw so glad you found each other. Most of mine are "rescues" too.
So nice to hear that, Jimmy!
How old is your kitten? I’m looking for a 3 month old and was wondering if one that young could use this that’s why I’m asking you lol
How long does it take you to have the tray full, with two cats?
@@vanessazaffari I have 2 adult cats and empty the tray about every 2-3 days. I have one cat that drinks tons of water and she pees a lot. I could back off to twice a week. Also the robot has a light that flashes to let you know when the tray is full. It also keeps the litter spray under control if you have an OCD cat who covers and covers and then covers some more🤣 Emptying the tray and putting in a new bag takes me 5 minutes, tops including putting in a new bag. Good luck
@@judyalbrecht2110 thank you!! I asked because I was wondering if I go to travel for 2 days I might have to use an extra litter box to guarantee…

How did it go?
One of my cats is obsessed with LR4. Every time it goes into cleaning mode, he runs into the room and watches closely the whole process and explores what's happening. He love sit. Im loving it too so far.
Whenever my my male cat saw it rotating, he would try getting in. It was hilarious
Yep they definitely have good customer support. I feel like they’ve really listened to us and implemented things we wanted.
how did you get ahold of customer support? ive been trying for over a month and i cant get ahold of them!
Except for a lower price, lol. I genuinely believe they'd sell 10x as many of these at $399. But oh well.
Yeah they decided to shut it down to focus on selling more litter robot 4s (not being sarcastic that’s basically what the outgoing vm says). Would be great except for non-stop glitches. Great when it works! When being the key word…
I have contacted them 3x in the last 5 months and have yet to hear back once.
A big thumbs up from us.
does the company allow you to return it if the cat doesn’t like it?
Honestly the best thing I have bought for my 5 cats, I got the litter robot 3 so it does wonders, I usually had to empty the tray twice a week so not bad at all, I deep clean it weekly or bi weekly and so far no problems at all. I put 7 min timer on it
Do you only have the robot 3 for all your cats or do you have additional litter boxes?
We've had the LR4 for a couple month now. We have 6, yes 6, inside cats. They all use it! We have to empty it more than normal off course, but it's a freaking game changer. Our housekeeping always comments that she's amazed when she walks in. No smell at all. Yesterday, I ordered the litter hopper that maintains litter at an optimal level. Considering getting a second LR4, although a refurbished unit. Well worth the money!
I don't know if anyone has ever told you this, but I always love the thumbnails for your vids. Wessie always looks so cute.
Dave, that's great to hear. Thank you for the feedback. :)
Wessie is a star!!
such a model!!
same!
Glad you appreciated this review! Thanks for being here.
Our robot helped us a lot too. Way less time needed to perform littler duties. Hang in there, Desiree, your kitty(s) loves and needs you :)
Hello Kristina
I have the 3 connect and I would never go back to a traditional litter box. The price point is well worth the convenience and quality of life imo. I didn’t know the 4 was a thing but I will definitely be ordering one.
@@MathewWoodard 4 is definelty an upgrade over 3, specially the interior, a lot less messy and dont keep dirty litter in
You’re doing yourself a HUGE favor with Litter-Robot.
I agree with you on the warranty. Thank you for sharing your experience.
If you have a minute I would love to hear you thoughts on this maintenance.
In Canada you have the option of purchasing a 3year warranty for $130. Don’t know if it’d be worth it.
@@Ms2cents Yeah, probably why we haven't committed to buying it yet. :-)
I don’t know how I got here 🤔
This is hilarious !!
😂😂
Maybe get a cat?
Me too 😂😂😂😂😂

I have 3 LR3's in my facility for 18 months now and I've encountered the DFI issues on all 3 of them. Out of curiosity I dove in to the DFI issue causing a wide range of issues including;
Over torque fault,
Drawer full Indication.
Thanks for this!
Video please!! 😂
Have you had any luck with just overriding the dfi sensor? I am on my 3rd DFI sensor in 5 years and now need to order another new one.
You're absolutely right....Good evening how are you doing over there hope you're having a wonderful day it's a lovely day that the lord has made
Love your channel; have been a subscriber for years now.
I use just wheat scoop in the LR4 and haven’t had an issue
Oh absolutely love the idea of these - always wanted to try one. Thanks for the brilliant review!
Thanks for stopping by and watching! :)
I’m so ready to get this for my 2 cats! Thx for your great review. Wish it was cheaper but I think it’s so worth it!
One thing about this company that I love is that you can order individual parts to fix your unit.
One thing I will note is that while you said there's no weight limit, the Amazon listing (by Whisker) for the 4 currently says:
"SAFETY & USE: Suitable for up to 4 cats, each cat must weigh at least 3 lbs (1.4 kg) to safely use the Litter-Robot in Automatic Mode."
Mine always glitches and freezes !! I hate it so much especially because I have 3 cats and I travel out of town often
great video! The new V4 is such an upgrade from the 3. We love it and absolutely recommend it for anyone with 2+ cats in their home.
This may sound silly but I am going to get this for my two cats come Christmas. Thanks for the great review.
Not silly at all! Kitties deserve presents from Santa Ho Ho too 😻
Chucky good morning it's not silly as cat's and dogs are like my son's and daughter 💯🙏🐕🐾🐈😺❤️ THIS PRODUCT AFRAID TO HEAR THE PRICE 😂😂😂😂GOD BLESS STAY SAFE SINCERELY YOUR'S SUSAN FROM PA 🙏
Thank you. This is the second or third video I seen on this brand and seems like as they bring out more it just gets better. I'll have to get one.
Oh snap!! Sounds like a good deal sir!
Greg, awesome! I have a friend that is going to buy my second LR3 that I just bought in April, so getting that money back plus the $150. Can't wait to get the LR4.
Oh I'll try that, too. We bought ours about two months ago. How long ago did you buy yours?
@@svenno9951 Just bought mine on April 15th.
For those asking Litter Robot gives you a 90 day trial period if you do not like it you can return it before 90 days. They said since I was still within this time I was good :)
I have a litter robot 3 yrs and I love it ! & I have 4 cat in Which I’m sure I would love this one as well.🥰
very good, finally something new has appeared on the market! I and my 5 cats are tired of changing dfi sensors that fail every three months. I hope the engineers have corrected this situation in this model
Moisture intrusion, it can be repaired with a soldering iron in about 2 minutes.
@@pilotavery how and what to solder. I'm an electronics technician by training with soldering experience. tell me how and what needs to be repaired?
@@jhonyk39 open it up, take a look at the circuit board. Notice that there's a little bit of corrosion on some of the pins of the microcontroller and some other components. Get a little bit of solder and reflow these obviously bad pins
We're in Australia and have had the LR3 since 2019. We can't wait for the LR4 to be released here!
Mine just arrived!🎉
I’m actually picking up my two little kitty boys, from their Foster Mama, on Saturday!
The litter robot 4 is all setup & ready to go.
(They’ve been really good boys, using the “big cats” box, so I may get a cheap regular box, in case)
Thanks for the in-depth review.
Hey Kat how did it go with the boys? I’m planning to do the same thing.
Thank you for reviewing these!! I’m looking to upgrade and you answered all of my questions and concerns!!!
How do you like it?
Any update?
Can you comment on how much dust it creates while the machine rotates? If it's too dusty, it's a no go for me.. thanks!
Thank you for such an amazing review!!!! This model seems like a wonderful fit for any cat parent out there!! I’m highly recommending it and sending them your video to them!!! Thank you so much!!!!!!
Glad it was helpful!
Good review, ordered LR 4 yesterday, I am excited to get it. Thanks for your insights on this product.
@@kelsihansen200 lol...27 lbs!
What a thorough, well structured review. Thank you for all your work on this.
I’ve been getting these two faults all the time now too. Ironically started after they released the new version haha. 🤨
My cats do the same thing....LOL
One of mine does the same thing. I thought he’d get bored but didn’t ugh
@@michelle.shackelford Mine too, actually tries to ride in it, until it stops!
Thank You so much. I'm considering buying one for my 2 cats and your very informative video has confirmed that I need to get the Litter robot 4.

Tim, your still under the 90 day warranty. You can return it and get the LR4, or sell it to someone else and get the $150 gift Card towards the LR4.
Do you guys have issues with smells from it after months to years of use? Im getting thr LB3 delivered this week
This was very helpful. We are going to purchase small enclosed box litter box to make sure the cats will go in that before making this large purchase.
Good idea.
A friend of mine got two for their 4 cats. It works! 😸
Whoa! $650?!! I know it's quite an exceptional product, but that's way more than even my cat cost!🤭
I'm a bit OCD about keeping the litter tray clean so I'm sure I'd find something new to be obsessed with even with this product 😸
@@Anthony-fo8no and the litter box is not used all the time? 😄 lol
your cat uses it all day every day and you don’t have to scoop for the rest of your life.
Good Electronics always cost a lot, especially when made in US bc labor is not 1 cent per day. For one cat though maybe it’s not worth it to some people, I’ve got 6 cats by now (🫣) and physically don’t have the time to scoop and wash the litter box every time
Thanks for the review. Ordered and added your video when they asked if an influencer referred us. Hope they give you something!
There are cat feeders that use the existing chip that we put in the cats in case they get lost, I wonder if LR could use that instead of a 3rd party I’d tag because my cats don’t wear collars
Also, looking forward to the hopper they’re making to automatically top off the litter as needed
Lastly, for anyone concerned about the price; it was the best money I ever spent since I literally haven’t touched dirty litter once since buying this and in the 3 years I’ve had it i would say it’s paid for itself with how much less litter we waste due to how efficiently it scoops dirty clumps and sifts the rest for reuse
What hopper? I have searched and haven’t found a single thing about a litter refill hopper. Where can I find out about it
Would love that feature.
Thank you
Loved the video
I just had the 3
Might be interested in buying the 4 after it gets out
I hope you'll get to discuss the multi-cat features. Other reviews so far haven't gone much into that
I have the Litter Robot 3 and it think it was the best investment I have ever made.
Hi! Its been over 7 months since you have the LR4 how has it been so far? Any issue whatsoever?
Can’t wait for it to come out!
TY for sharing the reviews on these robots. Appreciate all the info and the thoroughness. 650. Bit pricey.
I just ordered mine! SO excited. I have 5 cats. So scooping often is necessary but overwhelming. 😄
Can you update on how the litter robot is doing with your 5 cats? I've wondered how it would be used by them
Fantastic review! Thanks for all of the little details you noticed.
Hey, I remember your interview with the Video Creatr podcast! Thanks for stopping by!
Any tips?
Paper pellets are very good.
Thank you Mallory I have been thinking about this for quite a while now and now just need to save up..I have 5 cats all were rescued from the street.
Its gotta be neat seeing companies actually listening to your critiques and actually doing something lol the fishworld only fluval is making improvements sort of
Thank you for the review. I will try the 4 instead of the 3. My main concern is ease of cleaning the drum and odor control.
But it's still covered. 😮
Does anyone know if there’s a way to trade in the old litter robot for this new one?
My smallest cat Kichi is very interested, she sat on my lap and was mesmerized. I don't think Oogie would fit as he is almost 9kg. Thank you for your fascinating and informative video.
Aww, I'm so happy to hear that Kichi enjoyed the video. Thank you!
@@ZenMasterChip There's a 3, 7, 15, 25, and 30 minute cycle option available. They recommend one robot for up to 4 cats.
Thank you for the great presentation!! I am about to purchase Litter Robot 4 and will follow up!
Excellent review. Thank you for providing your thoughts on this machine.
I have big cats....that dirty ceiling thing is good to know...thank you for posting your experience with them
@@SoManyRandomRamblings YW.
@@LilyUnicorn That was funny! 😂😂😂
Great review! Thanks for taking the time.
Thanks for watching. :)
Solid overview, thanks!
