My beloved Bertie, the chief tester, passed away on the 14th October, a month before his 18th birthday. I am devastated; he was the most wonderful, loving, gorgeous, funny and gentle companion you could ever ask for. His beautiful twin brother Percy is still very sick, and his grieving is heartbreaking. He hasn't meowed since Bertie died and was, until then, the loudest, most vocal cat I've ever known. I’ve been nursing him 24/7 and he’s doing OK. All the cats got sick from an E.Coli outbreak in their urine. Because of this, they shed the feline herpes virus. It's been a terrible time, and the vet bills have been utterly crippling. Some very kind people set up a GoFundMe to help me cover the bills to date and the ones to come. If you can help at all, I would be eternally grateful. Thank you. gofund.me/1991562c

lol! What a wonderful and informative review!! And your cats are delightful!! I was an early automatic litter box adopter in the 1990’s … the versions with the plastic, rectangular catch bin that also took a plastic bag. They were OK, and I kept them running with some repairs and replacement bits until about 2015 when they finally surrendered. I researched and bought a Neakasa about a month ago. A bit of a high tariff? Yes. But the cats love it and use it and so far the maintenance is easy, simple, and so far no issues. I’ll keep watching!!
Got an ad for this and immediately came here to see if you'd reviewed it yet. Currently have a Leo's Loo Too. My boys like it, but the girl still prefers a traditional litter box that I have to clean myself. When she does use the Loo she tends to poop out the front door. This looks like a potential solution that she might like. Will have to save up, but looking forward to trying it. Thanks for all your great reviews and I hope Bertie is better soon!
Thanks for another thorough review. Cant thank you enough for your litter robot 4 recommendation. Been using it for about year now and love it still! Also, best wishes for Bertie
Great review…I like this open design. Hopefully this will with the updates this will be an extraordinary automatic litter box. It might become the next best litter box.
@marielle3929 I love it so much. My cats don't pee into the gap so I haven't had any leaking issues. It's so convenient and never smells. Plus it's Japanese made so it's high quality.
Sending love to little Bertie and I hope he will feel better ❤. I use a litter made from the cores of corn (core/husks/inside leftover bit). You can flush the clumps down the toilet and it maybe small enough for those types of litter boxes. Best wishes to Bertie
I'm really happy to see this video ... my M1 is arriving, I see that it works very well with small diameter tofu ... disposing of everything in the toilet or in the wet without polluting the world seems to me to be a priority .... thanks again for the video greetings from Tuscan Florence
Thank you. Just make sure you are allowed to for the reasons I mentioned in this video. Also can you get small tofu there? I love Florence. Here’s a video I made a few years ago from there. 🙂 th-cam.com/video/4pD-z9yPicA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=KVj_YPefHLfzR0wc
@@OneManFiveCats I ordered the M1 months ago, it should arrive in a few days, maybe in a week at most... I live in the hills a few km from the center because the center of Florence is not liveable 😅
We have a 10 year old cat who refuses to use anything that doesn't look like a regular open box, we tried a few different automatic boxes and so far the only one she seems to like is the scoop free box. 140$ and so far works really well.
Thank you for this thorough review. I have 3 cats and a LR4. One of the cats is over 14 lbs and hasn't really warmed up to the LR. I've been looking for a more "open" alternative, and this one was at the top of my list. Thanks again for the awesome video!!!
I live in Greece and we are taking care of a litter of strays but I'm getting complaints by some neighbours and my landlord (even though the rental contract says it's a pet-friendly place). They don't care we are going to neuter them as soon as they reach 6 months from our own pocket. We're thinking of moving to Turkiye instead, where they have laws that protect strays and people are more pet-friendly.
Thank for this review. I have not used one yet. Been looking at different kinds. I have big Maincoon's and just reacued a Bengal cat. The inclosed ones just look to small. This one may be worth it. As well with my health. Bending or squating down is getting harder. To keep scooping. I know the standard though is boxes are always low on ground hidden somewhere in the house. But why not make one on a stand. A ramp up, so easier for older cats. And older people who love cats. ❤️ I like this style the best. Thank you for honest review.
I would have adopted that sweet little calico kitten along with Archie. I’m still using my old fashioned litter boxes. Just don’t have several hundred dollars to buy a high tech one, especially with the cost of everything going up constantly.
If I didn’t already have 6 including another Calico. I have to consider my cats first and another girl would really upset things. There’s already enough tension with the 3 I have! But yes, she was lovely and very friendly. I hope she’s OK.
Originally bought this one off of the kickstarter campaign. it stopped working. Now using a refurbished one that they sent me as a replacement. Seems to work better than the original one. If this one goes out and they won't replace it. I'm looking at a furoomate. You might like to do a review on that one. It looks really interesting.
This may be the one I get in replacement of my Litter Robot 3 It’s cheaper than the LR4 (as of right now) & I think the open nature of it will make it easier for me to clean. I live in a small apartment & my LR is shoved into a coat closet behind a living chair. The cats are fine with the placement, but getting the huge LR out of there to do a deep clean has been so challenging. The fact that I can just access the sides of this machine & lift it up off the base is very appealing to me!
The Neakasa was my first automated litter box and I think I like it more than the litter robot 3. On amazon they have coupons for $100 off sometimes. And yeah The neakasa is easier for me to clean IMO, the texture of the machine is sort of a matte texture and its more sleek so less crevices than the LR 3 (I found a black widow hiding in one of the crevices on the bottom of my LR 3!). I think the only thing Id suggest is getting a Low Dust clay litter since the cloud of clay dust isn't really contained as well as the LR 3.
Looking forward to the UB Pet 20 review. I just got the same one under the Meowant brand. It’s was like $250 out the door for me and I like it so far and my cat took to it one day even with her old litter box still available to her. Can’t knock the price and hope it lasts
@@shandae8825 There is a stand, but I recomend not getting it. It's poorly designed and easily tips over when a cat gets on it. I regret purchasing that.
Thank you for the review on this Cat litter box. I've been looking at it and wanted an honest review. It's wondering if you will do a video on cat litter and all different types that are out there.
Thank you. I can’t do a video on that as what is available in the UK is very different to elsewhere. Also there’s not much choice for self cleaning litter boxes for me. It’s clumping clay or clumping clay!
I have a cat litter box with a trap door. It caused me problems when it gets stuck (due to sand litter getting inside the mechanism & causing jamming. Then the self cleaning cycle stops as well and there is no option to by pass the trap door status. Eventually I replaced it with a lower model of the same brand, it does not feature a trap door, just a hole into the waste tray.
We want more video like this!! I'm waiting per snowy review because my cat always pee on the edge and for now I have a closed litter open on top 😢 Thanks for your work!!
I think they now have it "non stoppable circle" !! I have same issue but after turning it on , no more litter kicking and it wont trigger weight I also use small stool to put infront of it for easier access
OMG THANK YOU! I just bought this and it came with the stickers but absolutely NOTHING that tells you where to put them or what they're for! There's a photo but it's not really helpful and your video is the only place I've found an answer about where to place them! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
I actually backed this one on Indigogo. I got it specifically for my big boy who is skittish with the covered Litter Robot 4. However, he still won't use it. My other three cats use both regularly. Sigh...
Hi, First of all, thanks a lot for all your reviews ! I wanted to ask you if you had any follow-up about the hardware issues you mentioned in the video : - The forward position - Lack of fence - The new mat to prevent urine leak - The trapdoor issue - Availability of spare parts If you could do a pinned comment about all theses and what are the last info you got, it would be awesome. I'm close to order one but I want to wait for all these issues to be either fixed directly or with a proper DIY solution Oh and, do you plan to make a blog to host a text-version of theses video ? It could be really great for people like me that like reading review :D Again, thanks for your work !
Thank you for the great videos. Maybe you could make a video about litter box mats. My cat drags cat litter far from the box. The mat I bought isn't that good.
Thank you. I don’t think I can do a whole video on them. I frequently don’t even use them as they are a pain and just get my robot vacuum to do a circuit every night or when needed.
You are literally reading my mind! I'm in the market for a self-cleaning litter box, and it's a tossup between the Meowant, Neakasa, and PetSnowy. Assuming the LR4 is outside of my budget, which do you recommend between these 3 and the new UBPet C20? Looking forward to your video comparison but my wife was hoping to get one sooner rather than later. Hope to hear from you, thank you for all the help in your videos!
Thank you. I can’t answer that for you as I don’t know what your cats are like. If they are ok with enclosed spaces etc. Not a huge fan of the Pet Snowy as it’s so big but the space for the cat is small and it’s all very enclosed. Have you seen my previous video “all the good and bad”? It’s an important one to watch as you will understand all the pros and cons of each style. UB20 is good but I prefer the first one.
@@OneManFiveCats thank you for such a fast response! I have 2 and only one is a little hesitant at first then warms up to the closed space. We have their current litter in a cabinet enclosure so I don't think they would mind. I did, thankfully, it was so informative. I'm glad to see you recommended the Meowant then and still now, so I'll probably buy it and hope I don't need to interact with their customer service. Thank you for all your reviews - I'm looking forward to the next one!
@@DHS259As someone who has the Meowant, I really enjoy it! It’s super easy to clean and I haven’t had any leak problems; just the occasional litter dropping into the gap in the base like OMFC showed in the mega review. The app is a bit shit to be honest cuz the weight sensors can be off, but I only have one cat currently so there’s no confusion on who’s using it and I have a camera facing it so I can keep an eye on Varda and whoever else I add to the pack. Like she allegedly gained 3 lbs in one day??? But I do appreciate how I can run a cycle and flatten without going up to the machine. I know I’m a little late, but hope y’all are enjoying yours!
Will you be doing a review of the PetSnowy Snow+? I've been hearing a lot of good things but no one goes over the cleaning, possible leakage, and the cats who stand up to do their business, like you do. Your reviews are so thorough and wonderful.
Thank you. I covered it in the previous video. I didn’t go into super detail, just the main things. It’s fine but the machine is too big and not a huge amount of space inside for them really. Plus the scales are very innacutate. The litter tracking and the easy cleaning of the drum are the best bite. It’s over priced though. It doesn’t leak and if they pee out of the entrance then they pee onto the litter tracking bit inside it.
I was so excited to see you have a new video! I just love your content! Archie is so cute, well they all are. Those adorable noses and whisker cheeks. Such stunning photography! Meow.😼😼😼😼😼😼😸
Huh. I think I saw the Skiathos cats online, listed as in need for rescue. I'm a first time cat parent so I in the end went with a small private rescue in the area that puts a lot of heart and hard work into taking care of the cats and finding them new homes. Not to say that other rescues don't do the same but, you know how it is, since you are a first hand rescuer.
Hey! Thank you very much for this video. I’m getting 2 Maine coon kitten boys soon (after having a female for 18 years) and I’m having a lot of trouble finding a litter box that will work for them as they grow. This might be a great option.
Thanks for the in-depth review! Do you think it would be possible to use crystal litter in the neakasa? I read that some people had great success with crystal litter and their litter robot.
@@philipbloom for many reasons, mostly because it is easy to clean and doesnt smear poo when doing a cleaning cycle, and it looks better than the others, and has an open top. I have watched reviews of automatic cat litter devices for days and it seems like the best one to me.
@@NadineBurnes this is good but I highlight a number of issues in this review. The “smearing of poo” is no different in this than most others. It happens if the consistency isn’t very solid, where they do, the type of litter and especially the cycle delay length.
@@NadineBurnes FYI, I am One Man Five Cats. The Neakasa is easier to spot clean as it’s open. Doesn’t mean by design it will stay cleaner on it own. I see people complaining about the LR4 being dirty when the reason that’s the case is people aren’t keeping it clean. It needs wiping as and when. If you had a streaky human toilet you would use a brush on it rather than just leave it for the next streak, right? 🙃
You should look into the furoomate litter box if you haven't already. It's open and on the cheaper side for automatic litter boxes. I'd be really interested in your review.
Speaking of natural litter, Paco & Pepper is an all natural, dust free cat litter made from olive pits! The slight oiliness of the olive pits makes it actually dust free instead of just claiming to be, and it clumps fairly well. I don't own an automatic litter box.. yet lol. But it is by far my favorite cat litter I've ever used. Unfortunately, I don't think they ship outside the US :(

I hope bertie is feeling better!
Thanks!
Thank you. :)
Eugh I wish they sold them in Aus! Such a good review mate. You've just made me want one even more
Available on AliExpress
Thanks for another thorough review. Cant thank you enough for your litter robot 4 recommendation. Been using it for about year now and love it still! Also, best wishes for Bertie
It made my heart melt when you were getting archie 😭💕much love to them and you
Was waiting this. Thank you very useful as usual. Hope bertie feels better soon, can’t do test without him
Great review…I like this open design. Hopefully this will with the updates this will be an extraordinary automatic litter box. It might become the next best litter box.
great information, and was engaged every minute
YES I just bought this one and I was hoping you'd review it!!!
how is it?
@marielle3929 I love it so much. My cats don't pee into the gap so I haven't had any leaking issues. It's so convenient and never smells. Plus it's Japanese made so it's high quality.
Great thorough review on the Neakasa M1! Love it!
Sending love to little Bertie and I hope he will feel better ❤. I use a litter made from the cores of corn (core/husks/inside leftover bit). You can flush the clumps down the toilet and it maybe small enough for those types of litter boxes. Best wishes to Bertie
Thanks! Vert helpful as always!
Thank you!

@@OneManFiveCats I ordered the M1 months ago, it should arrive in a few days, maybe in a week at most... I bought many tens of kg of small diameter tofu and I'm really happy that it works in the M1... I'm glad you like the tuscany country and Florence ... I live in the hills a few km from the center because the center of Florence is not liveable 😅
@@filipporossifavilli68please do check about whether you are allowed to flush or not!
We have a 10 year old cat who refuses to use anything that doesn't look like a regular open box, we tried a few different automatic boxes and so far the only one she seems to like is the scoop free box. 140$ and so far works really well.
For being such an outstanding and kind human being. Cheerio
@@petra3498 thanks so much!
Thumbs-Up👍 The ultimate Show and tell and most throughly explained in all details this is the best Cat & Cat liter Machine Chanel on TH-cam 👏
Thank you for this thorough review. I have 3 cats and a LR4. One of the cats is over 14 lbs and hasn't really warmed up to the LR. I've been looking for a more "open" alternative, and this one was at the top of my list. Thanks again for the awesome video!!!
I would definitely get this! I hope they bring the white one back
one of the best Neakasa M1 review videos!
@@rodrigo.gibson that’s really sad. The attitude of many Greeks is awful.
I like this style the best.
Thank you for honest review.
I bought the same litter box for my cat couple months ago. She loves it. Very happy with this purchase.
thank you and best wishes for Bertie
I would have adopted that sweet little calico kitten along with Archie.
I’m still using my old fashioned litter boxes. Just don’t have several hundred dollars to buy a high tech one, especially with the cost of everything going up constantly.
If I didn’t already have 6 including another Calico. I have to consider my cats first and another girl would really upset things. There’s already enough tension with the 3 I have! But yes, she was lovely and very friendly. I hope she’s OK.
I got one of these for my cat. This machine is incredible! Highly recommend.
I love all of the extra links and suggestions! Thanks so much!!!
Thank you for your content! 💕to you and your kitties!
Thank you SO SO SO much for all your hard work ❤
Thank you for such a thorough review and sharing your tips/hacks! So helpful!
Funny, watching this, I could swear I could smell the boxes. I guess too many years cleaning cat boxes. Thanks
This may be the one I get in replacement of my Litter Robot 3
It’s cheaper than the LR4 (as of right now) & I think the open nature of it will make it easier for me to clean.
Thank you so much for your review videos! Your last one helped me pick one for my two male cats and they love it! 🙏❤️
thank you for another great video!! happy with our lr 4 so far but curious about open options
Thanks. I hope we see more open ones come out. It’s strange there’s so few out there.
Oh, I did get the stand that is an accessory they offered. Would not recommend it. It's light with rounded feet. The cats constantly tip it over.
The cats don't really need it. It's low enough for them to get in
There's a stand? I was looking for something like that when I purchased it but ended up finding a ramp (for my chonker).
Yes a stand can be purchased but it's always out of stock. I really don't think it's needed. Cats by nature are climbers
Which machines are they?
We want more video like this!! I'm waiting per snowy review because my cat always pee on the edge and for now I have a closed litter open on top 😢
Thanks for your work!!
I covered the PetSnowy in the previous litter box video.
I think they now have it "non stoppable circle" !! I have same issue but after turning it on , no more litter kicking and it wont trigger weight
I also use small stool to put infront of it for easier access
Just ordered this one with your Amazon code! Thank you for all you do!!!
Thank you for creating this video! I have a 13lb tom that pees like a racehorse (and the clumps are huge!). I hope this litterbox will work 😅
OMG THANK YOU!
Sigh...
Hi,
First of all, thanks a lot for all your reviews !
I wanted to ask you if you had any follow-up about the hardware issues you mentioned in the video :
- The forward position
- Lack of fence
- The new mat to prevent urine leak
- The trapdoor issue
- Availability of spare parts
If you could do a pinned comment about all theses and what are the last info you got, it would be awesome.
I'm close to order one but I want to wait for all these issues to be either fixed directly or with a proper DIY solution
Oh and, do you plan to make a blog to host a text-version of theses video ? It could be really great for people like me that like reading review :D
Again, thanks for your work !
I was just looking at this litterbox! Thank you for the review!!
I am considering this machine or the pawbby. But will wait til the second generation.
Thank you. 🙂
The detail, editing and video quality boggles my mind
This looks like a winner to me, thanks for your automatic litter box reveiws ❤
Why is it the winner?
@@philipbloom for many reasons, mostly because it is easy to clean and doesnt smear poo when doing a cleaning cycle, and it looks better than the others, and has an open top. I have watched reviews of automatic cat litter devices for days and it seems like the best one to me.
@@NadineBurnes this is good but I highlight a number of issues in this review. The “smearing of poo” is no different in this than most others. It happens if the consistency isn’t very solid, where they do, the type of litter and especially the cycle delay length.
@@philipbloom in the comparison video with the litter robot 4 it was far cleaner and easier to clean, and i like the design better also
@@NadineBurnes FYI, I am One Man Five Cats.
I'd be really interested in your review.
it's not available in the UK/ Europe
Wonderful review
Speaking of natural litter, Paco & Pepper is an all natural, dust free cat litter made from olive pits! The slight oiliness of the olive pits makes it actually dust free instead of just claiming to be, and it clumps fairly well. I don't own an automatic litter box.. yet lol. But it is by far my favorite cat litter I've ever used. Unfortunately, I don't think they ship outside the US :(
2:36 was absolutely hilarious 😂
Sweet Bertie. I hope he feels better soon.
So do I, desperately. 😞
You have an amazing heart.
i would have bought the white one if i’ve seen this video a day earlier! but i personally does like the gray one cause it looks more stylish.
I can’t find anywhere to buy the cream/ white one.
