watching that woman cry over the croissant is more relatable than i wish it was. its so hard to find gluten free when you're out traveling and right when you finally think you've hit the jackpot something has to go wrong.
that last tiktok is also super relatable. 1 crumb and i'm out for DAYS. my body acts like i'm gonna explode every single time. sometimes i wish i would just to get it over with lol

I just got back from a mission trip to Ecuador and honestly a lot of the food was gluten free naturally…they had mashed potatoes for a starch and they had fruits and veggies. I wouldn’t get too stressed out but I would totally suggest packing some protein bars and a couple of your fav gluten free snacks for the flight bc the meals themselves aren’t super filling. Overall don’t stress out about it too much just enjoy your trip 😊

A few Celiac travel tips :
Get a detailed note from your doctor, it just helps with the next tip.
Most airlines will allow you to bring on a small soft cooler plus your carry on and personal item as Gluten free food is considered as medical.
TSA allows you to bring food. If you bring fruit just make sure to eat it on the flight or they will make you throw it out on the other side. They aren't going to allow things like soup because it's a liquid but stuff like sandwiches or sushi are great. Anything packaged is golden.
As far as airline meals go, make sure you order a GF meal in advance. When you check in double check that it says so on your ticket. If it doesn't say GF on it, dont eat it. They mark the meals and even the bread packages will say it. You can see in that poor lady's video that all the breads were marked GF except the croissant which had gluten. It was just the regular one, which is why it had no writing on it.
When dining out, if you are concerned about getting glutened take a supplement that has DPP IV before you eat. When I travel I do this. It might be overkill but it helps and I usually feel better in a couple of hours versus days or weeks. I use to take it when I got symptoms and it helped. I found it to be more effective taken before and also when I get symptoms.
DPP IV is considered a protease - an enzyme that breaks down proteins or peptides (2 or more amino acids). It works specifically to break down many of the common components found in a gluten protein into smaller compounds. These smaller components are more easily digested and therefore do not cause the body to react as aggressively.

My sister is really gluten intolerant. 7:15 is super true for her! Luckily our supermarket nailed a LOT of gluten free things like pasta!!! I always make an effort to decontaminate the kitchen before she eats OR I help make gluten free meals.

Love this! Was just on vacation and took a risk ordering pizza - the gf pizza looked the same as regular pizza. You would think was in forensics as I examined both pizzas. 😂. Luckily all was well 😊
