Good tip about using an inline filter. Several videos on TH-cam showing diesel injector cleaning using this method but you're the first to show using a filter to prevent any dislodged debris from being drawn back into the pump and injectors via the bottle of injector cleaner. Great video! 👍
Thanks! It’s really important to stop any debris getting into these injectors as they’re so fragile internally, so the filter is a good thing to use. Thanks for watching!
Thanks a ton. This is exactly what i was looking for. I also have a filter with only two ports exactly like you. I wasn't able to identity fuel lines because all videos of diesel purge with tdi show filter with four ports. Btw i own a variant of polo 6r known as polo sedan in some countries and vento in india.
Hi Alex! I tried the same procedure on the 1.6 TDI Polo but somehow the engine refused to start after attempting at least 6-7 cranks. I'm guessing this could be due to air in the fuel inlet line? It kept cranking but never started. I had to call it off. Besides, I was wondering, why not remove the fuel pump fuse so that the pump doesn't push the fuel from the fuel tank during this procedure? When I connected the hose between the fuel filter inlet and the return fuel line, the hose became bloated! I was worried if it would rupture. Luckily I couldn't carry out the procedure. Pouring the diesel purge solution into the tank is an alternative but not as good as this process I bet.
alexaescht Yeah it worked after I reconnected the respective hoses back. Tried it a second time but the engine didn't start despite multiple cranks. Gave up and poured it inside the fuel tank. The tank had very less fuel; less than half of the reserve.
Haha *touchwood* I hopefully didn't. :) But after pouring the diesel purge into the fuel tank and revving the hell out of the engine, I think there's a perceptible difference when we went for a drive yesterday. Thanks a bunch for all the help Alex! Appreciate it man.
+why must i chase the cat If you disconnect the inlet pipe and put it straight into the clear line, then in the can, there is barely any air in the line at all that it doesn't matter. Only matters if you're using a really long line into the purge for some reason.
Hello great video, I have 3 ports on my injector pump, 1: supply line to the pump 2: Return pipe from injectors connected to injector pump, 3: I don’t know what that is, if I was to take the pipe off the return and use that as return wouldn’t diesel come out of the port on fuel the pump
Hi, why did you put the filter in the return line? the filter should be placed on the line going to the high pressure pump (hpp) right? please clarified. and what about priming of hpp, it looks like you started the engine directly. finely what about the results did it works? thanks
It doesn’t matter whether the filter is on the inlet or outlet line because we assume the the can of purge starts out clean. Putting it on the return line was easier as it meant we didn’t have to bleed air out of the filter to stop the pump filling with air. Results are good. Better response and quieter running Thanks for watching and commenting
Hi I know this is an old post but very helpful nether the less. I have one question and that is would it be better with the fuel filter on the flow in pipe not the return one, also the flow pipe just short by 5mm of the base of a clear jar.
Hi, thanks for watching. I think having the filter on the ‘in’ pipe would be fine also. I think the reason I chose to have it on the return was just to make sure I didn’t fill the pump up with air from the filter. I agree a clear jar would be useful too
Would a simpler way of working be in like the liqui Lily adverts say? Just disconnect fuel filter pipes and place in the diesel purge can? In another video hardly any gunk came out from the injectors. Would it probably break down and be absorbed and be burnt away anyway?
Nice video, is it worth replacing the fuel filter and siphoning out all of the fuel then repriming it with VCDS to make sure your using fully cleaned fuel
one pipe from the diesel filter is for high pressure pump....but what is the another pipe in the filter for...??? which line did u bypass the return...??
There is a lift pump in the tank that runs constantly with ignition on. You have to recirculate that back into the tank otherwise you’ll have diesel spraying everywhere during the purge
I must caution you here, that the fuel injectors are continental make and are very expensive. at times this method cleanse the engine intake lines only not the entire system. And most of the times it leads to failure of injectors. The best practices are is to clean the entire fuel tank properly, change filters and clean the fuel pump too and is advised to use the purger with the full tank Diesel... Over a period you'll notice the improvement in performance...

Is it safe to use? I mean, the lubricity of LM DP is unknown and high pressure fuel pumps of vw cr engines are very sensitive to fuel, it can start to "fall apart", and the faulty pump work could be noticed not immediately after the procedure, but in 10k or 20k km. Was thinking of using it, but now I get second thoughts..
Hi mate, I'm having some problems with my polo 2010 TDI, if I'm on a motorway and let the RPM fall below 1800 on 5th gear going uphill, it seems to lose its power a lot. The dashboard asks to go down to 4th then 3rd gear and the speeds stays at around 50mph until the hill is over, then it seems to get all of its power again? Thanks in advance
+LushiiiPlays This could be normal behaviour; the Polo TDI puts out it max torque at 1750rpm and it does drop off below that a fair bit. It could also be due to a dirty air filter, faulty injectors or a blocked DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter)

+Alain Jean Sorry to hear of the problems you had. The vibration may go away after a week or so of normal driving, however if it doesn't, and the flywheel is faulty, the flywheel wouldn't have been broken by using the diesel purge - it would be faulty for another reason. Also, you may have only noticed this vibration after the purge, even if it was always there but you had never noticed it before. Hope that helps.
+alexaescht thanks for your explanation. At least, that's a relief that it didn't come from the purge. However, after a month or so the vibrations are still there. One thing I forgot to mention is that while the liquid was purging the injectors I was accelerating till 2500 rpm ... that Also wouln't have hurt the flywheel ?
+Alain Jean Doing that won't hurt the flywheel in any way - it's impossible. The damage would have been caused from something else, or even just through wear and tear. I know these flywheels can fail at relatively low kms.

I believe what you are saying...it's probably from something else. Thanks alexaesht for your input and all !
+Alain Jean No problem
Many thanks

Hello sir my name is sandy I am from India I am auto electric engineer . One of my friend car vw vento the car make more noice when the ac compressor on fuel injection noice can u tell me how I solve this problem ?
hello.
thanks for video.
i am wondering if it working with LIQUI MOLY super diesel additive
+abdallah boughaba The diesel additive is meant to be added to the fuel in the tank, not to flush the injectors like in this video.
Hi. What is the Moly reference ? 5170 ? Thx
Sorry I’m not sure what you mean
@@YZJB ok don't be worry about this. I found the product name for my country
If this is manual transmission how much is the gear oil quantity

@@YZJB thanks so much
In india polo is sold as vento sedan version with 1.6 tdi,in the owner manual it's not mention, I have put 2litres
Isn't this harsh on the high flow pump? Running it dry
You aren’t running it dry if you do the procedure properly. You must be careful not to introduce air into the system
Where is the oil filter octavia elegance 132 is it under the engine
It should be on top of the engine on the left side of the engine bay when viewed from in front of the car. I believe it uses an insert-type oil filter like this Polo does
Shell v power does the the action?
This is an extra step if you are having injector problems
@@YZJB I have driven 35000km TDI engine now I didn't have any injector problem but can do this ? In order to prevent from future problem
Termination U it will not hurt anything. It will help to keep the injectors clean
I have a 2016 model polo 1.5 tdi , i have followed the same step as shown in vedio but my high pressure pump is not sucking purge from the bottle and engine wont start

Diff btween 1811 vs 2005 diesel purge liqui moly
do you live in the uk
+mr rambo I'm in Australia
you cannot rev to the red line 5000 as you are limited to 2500
If you roll the car forwards you can rev to redline
Turn of ESP and rev to max
Why you using this for your engine what have a problem?
Diesel purge can be used for maintenance; to keep the injectors clean
And speak describing what you are about to do, and will do! Consider that one method to teach somebody is thru voice, besides just video, and text!
Why not just dump it inside the filter?
1. You can’t open it up on this model
2. A lot of the fuel gets returned to the tank after the filter, so it would be diluted instantly
WHY NOT just fill the fuel filter can with Liqui Moly instead of disconnecting lines
I want to do it. kindly advice for the same. i want to put it in my filter

Can FOrd Transit run on pure Tec 2000 diesel injector cleaner? Can you see this video and let me know if you see us doing something wrong in the connection or do we have to mix it up with diesel?
th-cam.com/video/ojLtKsLGin8/w-d-xo.html
It looks like you did not purge the hose of air before starting the engine
@@YZJB How do u do that?
You have to pull the cleaner through the hose with either a pump or by sucking it through carefully. If you get a lot of air in the fuel pump the engine will not run
@@YZJB so the fact it started sucking into the motor is irrelevant?
It would have sucked a heap of air in first
Hello!
used condensed without dilution? It is theoretically recommended for 75 liters.
Hi there can the contents of the Diesel purge be dispensed into the feul tank? Or does it have to be done this way?
Both ways ...

is that rig filter arrow going away from the can or toward?
+Jessica White The oil filter cartridge is labelled with 'top' or 'bottom' and you just have to put it in the correct way. No arrow
+Jessica White Sorry I got my videos mixed up. The filter is on the hose that goes away from the can of diesel purge. Thanks
