    I have a MY2006 MITSUBISHI TRITON L200 ML 3.2D 4M41 utility diesel truck.
    In this video, I use my LIQUI MOLY diesel purge plus to clean the fuel system including injectors. I show where to find the fuel return-hose, & the fuel intake-hose, & how I use brass-connectors & rubber extension hoses to create a loop which cycles the LIQUI MOLY diesel purge plus through the injection system.
    A few days after I carried out this diesel purge, I then used my G-SCAN 2 vehicle programmer to do a Small Quantity Injection Learning to allow the injectors to relearn (see video • G-SCAN2 read & erase e... ).

    Ok this maybe a short-term solution but how many kilometres has the engine done ? I have a toyota prado 2014 1kd-ftv 3 litre turbo diesel with 170 km on it and when i removed in intake manifold and EGR components it had a larger build up of carbon biuld up inside . Toyota saying that larger amounts of carbon entering the compression chamber leads to wrong combination due to worn injectors seats that leak . So i replaced the injector and cleaned the intake expensive and time consuming but worth it if you planning on keeping the vehicle for a long time !

      thx for feedback. A few years ago, I removed the EGR & intake manifold at 45K km & it was clogged with carbon. Gave them a good bath in kerosene - & they came out pristine. The car also has Western Digital oil catch can.

    I MAY HAVE MISSED IT BUT DID YOU PULL THE FUEL PUMP FUSE SO NO FUEL WOULD GO TO THE FILTER? IF NOT, WHY DIDN'T THE FUEL KEEP COMING TO THE FILTER FROM THE FUEL PUMP AND TANK?

    • @DIYhabitat
      @DIYhabitat  ปีที่แล้ว

      I did not remove any fuses at all. The fuel pump is between the fuel filter outlet pipe, & the common-rail. Pls see my video at timings 3:35 min, & 5:10min.

      since i did the LM purge, the MIL code P0301 has not come back on.

    ????? I watched the video and couldn't understand what pushes fuel to the high-pressure pump because the pump doesn't suck. I tried it and it didn't work as soon as I disconnected the fuel supply line the engine didn't start. I tried even to connect the relay back and close the hole but with the same result. Kia Sorento diesel 2.2L. In your case, even without relay removal, you don't get fuel from low-pressure pump.

      in the case of my Triton ML 3.2D 4M41 diesel ute, the fuel pump sits between the fuel filter & the diesel common rail.
      Hence, the pump still sucks fuel. Unfortunately, I have no idea about the Forrester.
      put your car VIN # into this PARTSOUQ website, & use it to trace your fuel high-pressure system system layout to know what component sits where in the system.

      perhaps u accidentally removed a fuse for the fuel suction-pump, hence no power to suck fuel?

      @@DIYhabitat Diesel, two pumps, low and high pressure. I even tried with the fuse, blocking the fuel supply pipe but the same. Tried to lift the bottle high with a cleaner in the hose but the car still wouldn't start. I gave up and added it to the petrol tank.

    Did you remove the fuel pump relay? The way you showed this in the video I would be expecting fuel from the tank to come out the filter.

    • @DIYhabitat
      @DIYhabitat  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      i did not remove fuel pump fuse. For my model truck, the fuel pump is between fuel filter & common rail.

      my Trition 4M41 Workshop manual fuel system-diagram does not show presence of a low pressure Lift-fuel pump in fuel tank. In video, i initially thought fuel would pump out from inflow hose to filter. Hence, i put that hose into a can. But no fuel flowed into can. What model diesel truck/car do U have?

    I will try this, but what about the air bubbles visible in the video, coming back from the return fuel line, does that mean there are also air bubbles in the line from the jar to the injectors ?

    • @DIYhabitat
      @DIYhabitat  ปีที่แล้ว

      Perhaps the air bubbles may be from air still caught in the rubber hoses at the start?

    Very nice video. I've just tried doing this on my Chrysler 300c crd 2007 om642 but the engine will not fire at all once setup. I hooked into the feed and return lines coming from the tank just behind the oil filler, and tried with the fuel fuse removed, and also with the fuse connected and the tank feed and return lines looped together, but still nothing. But as soon as I connect the lines back to original the engine fires straight up. Do you have any idea why mine wont run from the bottle?

      For my TRITON 4M41 3.2D diesel truck. I have a Workshop Service Manual which shows a network diagram of the complete fuel system. The diagram shows that for my truck, the fuel SUPPLY PUMP is located between the outlet of the fuel-filter, & the COMMON-RAIL intake. Hence, for my truck, when I disconnect the outlet hose of the fuel-filter, & then connect the outlet hose to a bottle of DIESEL-PURGE, the SUPPLY PUMP still works to suck fuel from the bottle of DIESEL-PURGE, & send the fuel to the SUCTION CONTROL VALVE - & then onwards to the COMMON RAIL. Do a search on internet for the fuel system diagram for your car, to find where the FUEL PUMP(s) is/are located.

      @@DIYhabitat ok my fuel pump is in the tank. Im going to need to add a feed pump up near the engine. Do you know roughly the minimum amount of pressure or flow I should need from it in order to be able to prime the high pressure pump?

    • @DIYhabitat
      @DIYhabitat  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      good on your progress getting info. At least U now know why fuel did not suck from DIESEL PURGE bottle - owing to location of fuel pump in tank. Can u contact ur Chrysler dealer; provide them your car Registration #, or exact car model, so they can search their spare parts database, to identify the fuel pump part number. Then search that part # in google to see if there is any info on the technical operational specs for that pump to give U idea on flow rates?

      Before I did the clean, the engine gave DTC P0301 code. After the diesel purge, the DTC code has not returned.
