    4:40 I am so excited for the use of AI in the medical field. I am tired of waiting months for a doctor’s appointment and huge medical bills. Healthcare should be accessible and affordable.

      It's the thing that I am most looking forward to AI being used for. My life was destroyed by an incompetent and lazy GP almost two decades ago, when he heavily addicted me to benzos and then completely f*cked up and abdicated his responsibility to help me with the addiction that HE caused.
      He already had access to all the information he needed to stop or figure out a solution to what he did, but it would have been great if he'd been literally unable to shove me out of his office in five minutes without consulting an AI doctor first. Chat-GPT could have told him never to addict me to benzos in the first place, and if he failed on that (he really was atrocious), it could have told him precisely what to do to treat my addiction, early on, when it was much easier to deal with.
      I am also looking forward to the huge potential of AI in drug discovery. We are just seeing the initial effects of it. In January 2023, researchers discovered a potential drug for liver cancer in less than 30 days using AlphaFold. Many kinds of AI are being implemented at all stages of the drug discovery process in all pharma companies. The effects of this over the next 10 and 20 years will be immense.

      yah that's gonna be probably one of the biggest positives of AGI. There is a huge potential for disruption in the healthcare space since it's a mess right now

    Ray was outlining what has actually happened in reality & how we can project such progress into the future. Ilya was delivering the sales pitch for a dream which contained mostly wishful thinking.

  • @fteoOpty64
    @fteoOpty64 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    Hate it when Ray says he has been in AI for 61 years. But those old AI not using SCD and back-prob are just darn primitive and could not scale nor learn based on LLM type training. Thus only in the last 8 years, the tech that could build AGI was discovered. Ilya already seen AGI, that is why he is focusing on ASI now.....

      easy, to make room for the next generation.
      the human turnover-rate is absolutely essential for making progress as a society.
      immortality is NOT desirable.
      well, at least as long as humans are at the steering wheel.
      once AGI/ASI takes over and humans no longer have any input in how our society is run, then we may talk about immortality again.
