    "I wanted to be the most emotionally pissed off person in my voice." It's no wonder I love Fit so much, that paired with them being so happy and truly wanting to be there when they're playing live. I know at least for me, their music makes me feel something and boy, they can hit real hard at times. Edit:Typo.
    Waking up to this video made my day, great listening to you both. I'm only a little bit over half way but I'm so grateful you had Joe on here and I'm so stoked to finish the rest. ♡

      A huge thing for me is when you have a vocalist who has an emotional voice and has something to say; it REALLY stands out among the sea of bands. Joe Bad, Sam Carter and Courtney LaPlante are three who stand out with that perfect combination.

    I had never really given FFAA a chance and when the new album came out I blew it off for the new Shadow of Intent and Enterprise Earth (both great btw). However, I am a believer now. Oh What The Future Holds slaps so hard it isn’t even funny. So many crushing heavy songs infused with a ton of melody. Definitely my top release of the year so far.

    • @themightymcb7310
      @themightymcb7310 2 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Definitely go back and check out their previous albums if you liked this latest one. The Sea of Tragic Beasts, The Great Collapse, Absolute Hope Absolute Hell, and Hellbound. The first two especially are basically just straight up bangers cover to cover, but the latter two also have some very good stuff on them.

    • @bongasmr4u656
      @bongasmr4u656 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@themightymcb7310 Ty I plan on it. I had skipped through the first album at some point after the new release and I liked what I had heard. It has that older heavy deathcore sound that bands don’t make anymore. Besides, I like the new one so much it’s only a matter of time until the entire discography gets added into my library. Lol

    Yo, at 9:30 is EXACTLY why I think Joe is the BEST metal vocalist out there today! He is on par with Matt Holt of Nothingface! Matt's vocals are soooo good and I have always described his mids and screams as 'Sincere hatred' and Joe just nailed that description of his own vocals.

  • @42k78
    @42k78 ปีที่แล้ว

    This is so cool!!! Joe is one of the best vocalists to ever do it. He sounds so normal when he talks. You wouldn't put him with that same voice in the song. In Shadows was my first fav from the album. The filthy way the it starts and I love those open power chords in the verse. Very well placed. And of course the brutal vocals. When Joe does that "Eeeeeeeeeee!" when the second verse starts, I feel a chilly chill going up my spine. That was pure terror. FFAA is one the main torch runners in extreme metal.

    Corey Taylor is a PRIME example of utilizing emotional mids and sacrificing technique. And now we have the masterpiece that is Iowa 🤘😑🤘. Don't get me wrong, I like crazy techniques but there's something raw, visceral, and human quality to Iowa that sets it above most just trying to sound like insane demons. A "human on the edge" sound is more relatable to me.

      @KindOldRaven 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Slipknot's IOWA vocals are something else. The most agressive sound I've heard from any extreme vocalist. I've heard much more brutal stuff, but in terms of emotion and agression? That's actually a really hard one to beat and I think a lot of diehard metal fans are sleeping on it tbh.

    • @bluetoothpasteman5022

      @KindOldRaven If you don't know it, you might enjoy Porcelain by Orphan. For a long time, Corey Taylor was the gold standard of true emotion in screams, but the guy who does the highs in Orphan blows him out of the water. He honestly sounds like he sets himself on fire while recording, the rage and pain in his voice is insane.

And they've always been an incredibly consistent band. From Nate Johnson to Joe, everything has been huge. And of course Mark is a great vocalist/teacher as well. Liminal Rites is one of my favorite albums this year as well. Both albums from both bands are highly emotional. And you just can't fake that type of stuff. It comes from the heart. A real place.
