One of the most important lessons I learned about music is when the guitarist of a band called The Room Colored Charlatain said his band was his favorite. I was like "That sounds a little arrogant" and he replied "Why wouldn't I write music I love?". That kinda blew my mind. Now I Love when artists jam out to their own tunes.

the 'holding your breath" thing was huge for me - for getting the understanding of how certain screaming sounds are made
another way i have had success describing this is to think of whispering. like i can whisper in all sorts of tones - i can get heady, chesty, super low, add compression, everything. Moving around and creating different soudns in your "whisper" ( NOT HEAD VOICE - no vocal connection is what i mean when i say whsper) is huge in understanding the 'feeling' of getting some of the compression down

these deconstructions of single sounds like on 38:05 onward propell my vocal control forward immediately, you guys break all these things down so clear and understandable, thank you!

I remember seeing Justin's channel Hungry Lights a while back, once I saw it was him in Tallah I was instantly happy for him because this band is blowing the hell up and he deserves it.

I was watching Justin when he had his old channel and would post vocal content. He one day disappeared and then he came back with tallah and I'm so happy to see him well and thriving.

I wonder if it's going to be the video version or the one-take vocal recording version ... I've actually been liking the live recordings of the songs better than the studio versions. Justin goes harder on them and does more cool vocal shit, it really elevates the songs.

Justin's vocal videos are the best thing in music basically.

By the way, if you have not heard his Hungry Lights solo albums, definitely listen to them, and check out the vocal videos. Especially the most recent ones for the third album, are phenomenal and then some. Very different from Tallah, they'll give you even more of Justin's range and versatility. Albums three and four especially.

This is the greatest video you’ve ever done. I know the difficulty is significantly higher but please do more of these. If you could get Ronnie to do this with you talking about his voice that would be amazing🤯
